Blau Varadero: Excellent Resort

It's very nice hotel with beautiful beach and sunset. People there was all nice and make us feel comfortable. Nice food too. I can see why all the people there are happy and always smiling. We will go there again. Also I definitely recommend to my friends.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: A wonderful vacation!

The property is beautiful and a pleasure to walk through. The food, while somewhat repetitious, is quite good. The beach is one of the best we’ve been to. Every night there is some form of entertainment and it caps the day off nicely.

Muthu Playa Varadero: It was GREAT!

Overall as a first family vacation, we had a good time at Muthu Playa! The people in the animation team were amazing and very dedicated to making us feel at home. Food... So, so... We ATE and DRANK A LOT! but We thought it could be better. The snack bar was nice in between meals... the only problem was the FLIES and BIRDS eating the food that was openly exposed. Rooms are decent, double beds, they even had a crib for my daughter which was nice since the beds are small. Varadero has a lot of attractions, so many we didn't get to do as much as we would want and even when I went out late at night I felt safe. Overall good vacation and I would recommend someone to go there :)

Barcelo Solymar: Awesome Resort

I enjoyed everything about this resort. The grounds were nicely kept ,the pools were great and my room was huge.I can't complain about the maid service as I didn't ask for much service as I went alone. The buffet had a good variety so you could always find something you liked. Also we had access to Arenas Blancas to use the facilities. Staff weren't pushy but if you needed their help they were willing. I would definitely go back.

Memories Jibacoa: My heart is always in Jibacoa!

Another terrific 1 week of rest and relaxation in my favourite Cuban resort. The staff go beyond my expectations every day to ensure that I am always spoiled and pampered. David Villar, the director general is a very pro active, kind and humble man who is always quick to give his team the full credit for their hard work. Hotel Villa Cuba: Great resort

The hotel was beautiful. We were in a villa near the beach. Grounds were well kept everyone was friendly and helpful. The gym could use a makeover most of the equipment is old and broken. Always lots to eat and a good variety. We ate at the bistro one night food was awesome. The lady who works at the gym massage place is very helpful.

Melia Las Americas: An OK resort.

The hotel was beautiful, laid out really well. Food was pretty good, perhaps a bit salty. Beach was clean and close. Staff were RUDE and ignored you, took 1hr+ for a coffee if you got service at all. Some spots were better than others for service, but that’s because they couldn’t ignore you as easily (ex: sitting directly at a bar).

Blau Varadero: Very good value/price proposition

My husband and I just returned from a 14 day trip to Blau Varadero, which we visited for the first time (we have been in Varadero for 4 times so far). This has been our best trip. We had a select room ocean-view which allowed for unlimited a-la-carte dinners, most of which were at Palma Real restaurant, which has a good food selection and air conditioning (however the menu becomes repetitive after a while). Unfortunately, the other restaurant has no air conditioning during dinner. Main negative [... read more]s for us were lack of air conditioning at lunch time and the slow elevators, very crowded at certain times of day. The positives clearly outweigh these cons: best beach strip in Varadero, cabanas to rent for 15 CUC/day, great staff. Among the staff I want to mention the yoga instructor, Tony with whom I practiced daily - he is a real professional, Carlos and Norberto at the beach bar, Adelys at the Chill Out Bar and Janet, our server at Palma Real. It is very true that the staff makes the hotel atmosphere and we will definitely be back. We recommend this hotel, overall very good value.

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Very excellent resort.

It's acceptable especially for a short vacation.people are friendly, honest,poor,contended and hard working. Reception should be more welcoming to first time new comers and give an explanation,to the procedures etc.instead of having to figure out things by themselves.

Melia Varadero: Very Nice Resort

This resort was kind of dated inside the hotel itself. Although it is very grand on the outside and pool area. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. If they for some reason couldn't understand what you were asking, they would get someone to help you. I travelled by myself, and at no point did I feel unsafe or limited with where I could go or see on my own. The staff made sure you were well kept n safe at all times. The nightly entertainment/ disco wasn't good. As for food I thought it was fantastic. I didn't enjoy much of the breakfast options but as for anything else it was great and tasty.

Paradisus Varadero: Great Staff

The hotel is so clean, the ladies are working all day cleaning and also the gardeners keep grounds wonderful Check in was a breeze, no problems and taken directly to our room, which was also so clean, and a very good size, fresh towels everyday, bed changed often. I must say a shout out to the entertainment committee Ernesto, who kept us busy,all day. If you are travelling to Cuba, you need to understand there are food items not available, we had no bacon or sausage all week, but plenty of ot [... read more]her items, did not go hungry. The Alacarte restaurants are good on the whole, but as it is Off season, the Buffett restaurant is not open on days when alacarte restarants are. Also the main pool is under construction so had use of one pool, Evening entertainment is just ok, nothing special, I did enjoy the show in the pool, on our last night. On the whole, we had a good time, this resort is not for party people, but for a nice quiet holiday of pool and beach. Do not miss the double decker bus that goes from end of drive way, for 5 cuc, which you can hop on and off all day for same price.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Wonderful experience

I had an overall very enjoyable time while at this resort. The beaches were beautiful and most of the service me and my family experienced was pleasant. My butler took very good care of me and always made sure to check in to make sure that everything was how I liked. The food was okay, and the best a la carte restaurant that me and my family tried was the seafood restaurant.

Club Kawama: Club Kawama

This resort was amazing the staff were great all the people were friendly The room we had was AMAZING ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! We Was Entertainment Every Night Which Was Always A Pleasure To Go To Every Night I Would Give This Resort A Much Bigger Star!

Palma Real: For people with experience with 3* cuban hotels

Been at hotel Palma Real from 21 to 28th May 2019. I only gave a 2 stars even though I am an experienced cuban traveler and have used casas particular, 2-3 stars as well as 5 stars hotels and have stayed at Palma Real many times. This particular time, I arrived during the cuban's vacation time. Unfortunatlly for us tourists, it often means, very loud guests, empty buffets, shortage of about everything on the site (bottled water in rooms, choice of drinks, closed restaurants due to lack of f [... read more]ood) poor service and rooms that greatly need clean ups in general. If this is your first time vacationing in Cuba and are looking for the beautiful pictures we see in magazines, I suggest you take another hotel. If you are a seasoned cuban traveler, don't mind basic outfits, going out to eat a few times in town and get a really good deal (less than 650$) this could be for you. *** At this time of the year, book the special restaurants on weekends (advised by the hotel staff), because boatloads of cuban buses arrive daily from friday to monday. Don't get me wrong, I love cubains, but I did save all year for one week of relaxation by the beach. I would appreciate to have more than rice to eat. If it was not for the swarm of cubans invading the buffet, and the basics missing, I would give it a 3 to 4 stars, because of the great pools,and the location (close to calle 62, walking distance to the markets, restaurants and clubs. Otherwise, I had fun like I always do, with other tourists and cubans alike. Must mentionned Canadians were outnumbered by Cubans and Russians, witch made it a bit sad on the beach with cuban and russian music competing on who would be the loudest. PS: Also warning about the shops inside (and I guess outside too) the hotel. They rip off every foreign guests by charging a fortune for anything. 5$ chip, 3$ coka-cola. Here is a tip: REQUEST and INSIST that they use the bar code gun. This one doesn't lie. The price will be exact. If they start punching a hole bunch of number on the cash... it's just to rob you blind. I saved 3 guests 22$ overcharge on just 3 chips and 3 cokes just by telling the cashier to start again with the gun. Sad but true. 2nd PS: Other Canadian Travelers from upscale resort faced the same problems with food and cuban guests. Sadly, many on our plain back home mentioned that they would not come back to cuba for their future vacations because of that. A least we had amazing weather all week long.

Starfish Varadero: Decent Hotel

The hotel is very clean. There is always staff and cleaners walking around the premises as well as security and lifeguards. The hotel is very safe. Never encountered an issue with anything. Lively staff, good entertainment. However, the downfall of this hotel is that the rooms are outdated in the front of the hotel. The bungalows are semi remodeled and not all are re-done. The air conditioning does not work properly. Either leaks water or doesn't cool. The food is to be desired but on some days  [... read more]they do do special dinners consisting of lobster, shrimp, crab and lots of grilled meats.

Starfish Varadero: Wonderful holiday experience at Starfish Varadero

The beaches of Varadero are the most beautiful we have ever experienced. The pools were also wonderful. The staff at Starfish were all very friendly and willing to help with anything needed. The grounds of the resort are well manicured. The room we had had just been redone and beautiful even though we had no hot water. The common area bathrooms of the resort are in poor shape as they either were not working or missing toilet seats and few had toilet paper. Therefore, we always brought toilet  [... read more]paper with us when leaving our room. The food was good and with variety. The quality we experienced was standard for Cuba being nothing special but we did not go hungry. Be careful eating at the bars of the resort as they have a tendency to undercook their hamburgers and hot dogs. We were sick eating at one of these places because of it. Therefore, I would only recommend eating at the main dining areas. The resort is huge so be prepared to do a lot of walking and climbing of stairs. We got our trip at an amazing price so we were more than satisfied with our experience. We would definitely return if our next trip deal is as good. We want to thank all the staff for their kindness and help as they made our holiday wonderful at Starfish Varadero.

Melia Marina Varadero: OK Resort - wouldn't go back

I had a great time in Cuba! The sunwing staff were amazing and the flights were on time and the weather was perfect (travelled end of May). I wasn't overly happy with the hotel. Housekeeping came in everyday but didn't sweep, clean the washroom or, clear away drink glasses. They made the beds and left new towels that was it. Our room was tidy but dirty (bed skirt/ lamp shades/ crumbs on chairs that weren't mine). I am glad we were able to eat at the a la carts for dinner. She is an excellent bar tender and kept everyone happy and refreshed.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Very nice resort

The grounds were very well maintain. Staff very friendly. The food was not what was expected for a 4.5 stars by very far more like a 3 stars. The chairs on the beach needed serious repair. But the Resort was fine

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: First Cuban 5 star

Overall this resort is excellent and definitely worthy of its 5 star rating. It is in fact my first Cuban 5 star and my 6th time in Cuba so I know what to expect and not to expect from here. First of all the service and facilities are both excellent. The room I stayed in while dated was still big and in good working order. I’m very aware that Cuba generally doesn’t have the best selection of food and that’s surely not a reason to travel here but sadly I might have gone in with higher expectations than I should have knowing that it’s a 5 star and the food MIGHT be better than I’ve had before. However I always say great service will always make up for poor food and that was the case every time I dined so I won’t harp too much on this issue. Nightly entertainment seemed higher budget as well as the disco then I’ve seen at a resort before, which made them all very entertaining. Overall my week here was absolutely wonderful! Yes its considered to be a bit pricier than your average Cuban vacation but in general still cheap when you start to look at other countries in the Caribbean. I would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a great week vacation with exceptional staff who seem to enjoy their work!

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Nice Resort!

We had a great time in Cuba. The pools were great Close to the ocean. Nice to have access to two resorts. Food was ok. Night life was fun. Rooms were ok. Service was great We would go back to Cuba 🇨🇺
