Royalton CHIC Antigua: Resort was exactly what we hoped for

This Hotel clean.with lots of open spaces to relax and enjoy the vacation. The Staff at this resort are probably the friendliest,I have seen at any resort Entertainment was well done,with something different each and every night.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Disappointed!

I am writing with deep disappointment regarding our recent stay on March 15 to March 21, which we had chosen to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. This milestone was meant to be a joyful and memorable occasion, yet our experience at your resort was stressful, frustrating, and far below the standards we expected and paid for. From the moment we arrived, problems began: 1. Room readiness: We had to wait over two hours for our room, which was a highly inconvenient start to what was supposed  [... read more]to be a special celebration. 2. Poor service: Staff were often inattentive, leaving us feeling ignored and unvalued as guests. Many times waiting at the Marche Restaurant with no staff in front of their station. Many of the staff did not smile or even try to converse. 3. Food shortages: Key menu items were repeatedly unavailable, impacting our dining experience and enjoyment. On many occasions being told before we ordered that many items were not available. No shrimp, no chicken, no fish. 4. The food tasted stale, old and freezer burnt. When I asked the server, she confirmed that the fish had been frozen. The first time we went to the Score Pub, they were out of many items, and we were told this after waiting for 30 minutes for someone to take our order. We went back the next day, and ordered a Cuban sandwich at the Score Pub and was served a piece of pork and processed yellow cheese. The Smothered Chicken I ordered was deceiving by its name, as I received a processed chicken patty with yellow processed cheese. The Pasta allo Scoglio was overcooked with one shrimp and 2 mussels at Grazie. At the beach side grill, we ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It literally had 1 tsp of diced pork in it. Many times, Scoops was out of ice cream. 5. Room condition: The room smelt musty, the bathroom was dirty, with cracked tiles and blackened grout. Furniture, including the sofa, was old, scratched, and unpleasant, and the walls showed clear signs of neglect. The combination of these issues ruined the experience of what should have been one of the happiest moments in our lives. We expected a resort of your reputation to provide cleanliness, attentive service, and a comfortable environment—standards that were clearly not met. Claiming to be a 5 Star Luxury Resort, the Royalton fell extremely short from what it advertises itself to be. The sunwing representative knew about out concerns and those of everyone else; however, nothing was done. We asked about an extended check out time due to the chaos at check in, and nobody got back to us. There were many upset families that waited for 4 hours plus to get rooms, as we were told they had a new computer check-in system. That is no excuse. Even the sunwing rep noted that there should have been more workers at the check-in desk. Given the severity of these issues and the special occasion, we are requesting full compensation for our stay. We also urge your management team to address these problems immediately, so that future guests do not suffer the same disappointment. We expect a written response within 14 days outlining how you intend to resolve this matter. I can be reached at jlasilveri@yahoo.ca. Galley Bay Resort and Spa: Amazing resort

I have visited various resorts in the Caribbean but Galley Bay stands out as the one special place I would consider for some return visits. The weather in mid March happened to be perfect. I was impressed with the excellent staff, the cuisine, the arrangement of the units right on the beach. I try to avoid crowds and here, there was a sense of tranquility, calm, peace. Only the sound of the surf . Recommend this if you want to get away from the “madding crowds”.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Relaxing Resort

We enjoyed our one week stay at this very nice resort. The grounds are large and beautiful with lots of sitting areas both outside and sheltered. I made good use of the two very large and clean pools and found it a great way to cool down from the heat of the day. I happen to be a picky eater but actually enjoyed the food- there is a lot of variety to choose from and the quality was better than expected. Ours was an old room that was dated and frankly not very comfortable. Housekeeping does not come unless you request that they do. All in all the staff were friendly and helpful and attentive to our needs.

The overall grounds were clean and well groomed. The room walls are paper thin and you could hear what was going in the next room. The rooms could use some updating. Food was good & entertainment was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort app. did not work when we were there for week’s vacation. Jolly Beach Antigua: Jolly Beach Resort, Antigua

I loved Antigua, - it’s such a beautiful island! I chose this resort for its beach which is a 5+ star. The pools are also beautiful. I chose it knowing that its facilities and service were 3.5 stars - rooms were very basic but clean, no housekeeping services unless you paid for them which was okay with me - I was able to switch out my bath towels easily. Jolly Beach Antigua: Jolly beach retreat

The hotel is dated but the food was good and the beach was amazing. They only have one a-la-cart restaurant the other is a buffet style. They do not clean your room daily unless you pay for it. But you can get clean towels by asking at the front desk and they will send some up. The staff are very friendly.

Pineapple Beach Club: This resorts ticks all the boxes!

We love this resort. It is clean, the rooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds and pillows, beach is beautiful (especially with the new lounge chairs), the food is consistently good - in any of the restaurants and the staff are the best! This is a smaller resort so it is quiet. There is no issue with making reservations at any of the restaurants. The entertainment is fun and interactive. All of the staff from groundskeeping to the resort manager make it a point to say hello.  [... read more] Donna, the resort manager is there from breakfast until the entertainment at night is well underway. She can be seen clearing tables, showing people to their seats, speaking with guests and seems to have a great rapport with the staff. Egbert is a hands-on food and beverage manager and no job is beneath him. He is where he needs to be and helping to keep guest happy during their breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Housekeeping does a great job at keeping the rooms cleaned and well stocked. I love that the towels are in a cabinet on the beach and constantly stocked so you can quickly change out wet towels for dry ones through the day. We highly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a small and quiet place to unwind. You will not be disappointed.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Oh boy

The beach and ocean were absolutely amazing. Location was really the only positive point here. Our room had one plug that could be used, no ac for 4 of the 7 days we stayed and minimal hot water in the trickle of water that came out of the shower head. Rooms are not cleaned and if you ask a few times they eventually get you fresh towels. It was literally easier to use your beach towel and change it out everyday. Service was a hit or miss but mostly misses. If you can stay else where do so.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Costs

Well there is a tourist tax that trip central did not advise of We book lobster lunch boat tour through trip central after being advised it was the cheapest price. To find out when we got there the resort offered it less expensive So overall not impressed with trip central We have been home a week and still have not received our reward speaker that was to arrive in the mail for our booking

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Lovely Resort

Nice beach, nice rooms, pleasant staff, all the amenities, entertainments and restaurants are readily accessible. Only problem is the food quality is hit and miss. Mostly miss. And food service is also hit and miss. Mostly miss.

Sandals Grande Antigua: Nice resort.

The beach was beautiful and we felt safe coming and going from the beach as well as the resort. The grounds/gardens were beautiful and well tended. There was good security. We found the vendors on the beach respectful. However, our room was dated and the dresser drawers smelled musty. The bathroom had a low old-fashioned toilet in a separate small cubby-like room, requiring us to sit down on an angle so as to not bump the wall/door. The toilet area also had dirt in the corners. No feedback form anyone on that, but the problem did seem to subside. The bed was comfortable enough but the duvet was too heavy. Our Club Med walk out was right next to the main entrance of the Med tower so very busy with pedestrian traffic and also the service golf-style carts were often zipping by and/or stopping/parking right beside us. Overall, we were disappointed with the quality of the food, especially the lunches and dinners. Most of the beef dishes were quite tough, at more than one restaurant. One night we had a chicken parm at the Italian restaurant and it was over cooked (hard/crusty) with pasta and a little sauce. Another night we found the fish and chips at the pub to be soggy. However, the buffet breakfasts were good with very good selection. For the money we spent on this vacation, our expectations were much higher with respect to the food and dining experiences. The service was variable, from excellent to poor. All people at the check-in desks were more than helpful and accommodating. Also, walking around the resort, we found the staff to be friendly and caring. Our best server for dinner was John at the OK Corral. He was very attentive and friendly. The worst service was for breakfast at Eleanor's where people who were seated well after us were served first. In the end we had to ask the server about the whereabouts of our meal. Then when it arrived, the omelet was very hot and nice but the waffles were cool and chewy like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. We had a good time, but again for the money we spent, we will be looking at other alternatives for our next vacation.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Good resort

Nice beach. Great water aerobics. Good food for buffet. Restaurants had good food. Friendly staff and good entertainment shows at night. Service for water and drinks to room was ok. Nice view at Shirley heights.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: nice but not a 5 star

If you like the smell of pot, this is the place for you. The Royalton Antigua has a beautiful beach, and the rooms were very nice. It is a smaller resort which means the buffet is much smaller with a limited, but good quality food selection. The all inclusive restaurants want you to pay extra for what other resorts include...how is this all inclusive? I have never seen a sports bar where quick food is usually available only available by sit down menu. Some staff were very helpful, but most 'served ' you like they were doing you a huge favour. We asked for a coffee with dinner and the waitress pointed to the coffee shop and said they don't serve it at dinner at the buffet....go over there. This is a 3.5 star hotel

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Beautiful property

The grounds were lush, clean and beautifully kept. The restaurants had varied menus and good food. The buffet had limited choices and repetitive. Rooms were clean. Front desk was pathetic, I didn't get the room I was supposed to, and they were condescending and continued to offer lame excuses putting me off.

St James Club and Villas: Wonderful resort

The St James resort was very relaxing and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff I would recommend this hotel This survey is tricky because the questions that require yes/no are difficult to figure out. A check mark would be much easier because I don’t know if yes should be dark or light

Jolly Beach Antigua: Top Beach Destination

If your going for white sand and blue waters this is the place to be it's also in a great location for adventuring around the Island. Everything needed is Near by. The hotel it self has lots of potential very beautiful, but needs even just minor repairs like fixing doors, paint job... and that would make a difference. St James Club and Villas: Nice place but a bit dated

The two beaches they have are very different - the bay is calm but the water is not clear. The ocean side is clear but very windy and a bit rocky and treacherous to enter and exit the water. Food was good but not amazing and access to reservation restaurants is prioritized for Royal guests which means you will not always get in. Finally and most upsetting was that we had a pipe break in our villa and it took two days to repair despite their promises. Jolly Beach Antigua: Beautiful Antigua

This is one trip I will cherish. The Hotel could use a little or alot of updates but I still love this resort very very fun lots of sun and sand the entertainment was great. The food all around was okay lots of varieties love the bbq chicken and burger shack

Hello I have been to this resort before and not much has changed. This resort is in desperate need of repairs. There are no elevators no bar fridge in room the air-conditioning never works. Any requests are always ignored. There are nice people with a few bad apples. Oh and last this resort has no ice machines it sucks to beg for ice..
