Very Good Resort

We stayed at the Royalton "Diamond Club". First of all the staff was all extremely friendly and were always happy and smiling. Rooms - We were fortunate to stay in the terrace suite with a huge private terrace overlooking the ocean. This room was great. We had a chance to look at the other rooms and they were all very nice. Food - the buffet was very good, lots of choices. We visited all of the ala carte's. The food was good but not spectacular. Overall an 8/10. We did eat at the Ocean Point restaurant. The food was great and you could watch the sunset. Beach - the beach was excellent. Turquoise water, soft sand and very clean. The Royalton is on Bloody Bay Beach (approximately 3 km long) so very nice for a morning walk. There are other resorts you walk by as well as local shops, so it was a great walk. Note: it is approximately a 5 minute walk from the resort to seven mile beach. We made the walk and then walked all of seven mile beach. It is virtually the same as Bloody Bay beach just a little longer. And Marguarettaville is on seven mile beach Pools - there is a pool for Diamond Club and a pool for non Diamond Club. Both pools are about the same size. The pools are not huge but they were never overcrowded. Ample chairs and loungers at both pools and the beach. Entertainment - the vibe crew curing the day was ok, nothing special. The entertainment at night was also ok but we have seen much better. Hideaway section - this is an adults only area. Very much the same as the rest of the resort but "adults only" There weren't alot of children at the resort so nothing to be worried about. Sunset - Unfortunately due to the positioning of the resort on Bloody Bay you do not see the sunset, However you can walk to the point and watch the sunset Safety - The resort and beach was extremely safe, absolutely no concerns at all. As mentioned we also walked seven mile beach and had no concern with safety. Vendors = Yes there was vendors but they were not pushy at all. Yes they asked if you wanted to buy "gonja" but if you said no thanks they did not bother you. Also as you walk by their little huts/shops they asked you to come in and have a look but were not pushy at all. Overall - this resort was very nice and you certainly will enjoy it. Not overly exciting or spectacular but very nice to relax and enjoy the pool/beach/weather, 7.5 out of 10 Note: Make sure you go to Rick's cafe. You can go on a boat, catamaran or taxi. It is 100% worth the trip. We went twice it was so much fun.

Low 4 stars

Resort location is great, the beach and ocean are amazing. However, the food was disappointed. Lack of selection and they don’t serve much fruits and desserts. The room has the mold and pee smell. We were upgraded to diamond club but it was not worth for the money that we spent. Our butler was not great. Every morning around 9 am (some days even before 9 am) sent us a message to ask how we doing. Well.., we don’t know because we still in bed. Decent resort

Had a great time at this hotel - the food was excellent and the beaches and the staff were fantastic. Cons: Usually, 1-5 things may be wrong with your room. The bathroom door didn't lock, the outlets didn't work, and in my parent's room they were missing items such as an iron and bar restocks. Maintenance is definitely required on items but overall the room was clean and comfy. They do give priority to whoever has Diamond Club so that's something else to think about. Overall a great time at Royalton and would definitely try Royalton elsewhere in the Carribean.

Best Trip Ever

I've been to many resorts at many different locations and this was by far the best. The resort, food, staff, vibes and sun was absolutely amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Highly recommend!

Definitely recommend

food was delicious, staff were friendly and attentive, entertainment was impressive and the beach was fabulous! The only shortcoming was the room being stocked with water on a daily basis. I went with my 2 teenage daughters and they loved it!

Jamaica Royalton Negril Dec 23-30, 2020

Air Canada Rouge didn't have my Aeroplan # so they didn't know I am Elite for Life and a Million Miler so had seats at the back of the bus (after considerable effort finding seats together thru check in). We arrived on schedule yet took an hour to get through airport. We sat for another 45 min on the bus while we waited for smokers to finish their cigarettes! We liked our room when we finally got there and hotel scenery was very nice. Problems really weren't noticeable until we tried to get water in the morning since there was nothing in our room/bar fridge. At 7am, I called room service but no one answered. I made the long trek to the front lobby as a security guard said they have water. Not true, and front desk called room service but still no answer. I was also not impressed that we had to line up to make dinner reservations each day at 9am. Lineup to breakfast buffet was 30 min and then once in the food area, lineups everywhere since no food was out on display (no buffets). It really tested your patience. The service in this hotel was really bad everywhere. But worst of all, the food quality in most restaurants was really poor. I have stayed in many all-inclusive properties (Paridiso was booked in 2019 for our group of 7 in the DR and it far outweighed the food experience with my girlfriend (GF) at the Royalton). I want to believe the quality was poor due to covid19 but why? Service being poor makes more sense since they were understaffed and only 58% occupied according to the customer service manager. I would like to write to The Royalton about our experience to see if they would offer us anything as we want to return- this time to The Grand Lido in Negril on our next vacation (after Covid). We know a number of restaurants were closed and we think it may be a different experience next time. I want to give them another chance as my GF stayed there many years ago and was recently at the Royalton White Sands with her mother and kids last March just prior to the lockdown. She was pleased with the food on that trip so she too was disappointed with the quality of the food and the very slow service in almost everywhere we went at the Royalton Negril. We also didn't sleep past 7am each day as someone outside our room would start talking and laughing everyday once the sun rose up. I think it may have been a security guard a few floors down near the pool. Very annoying when you are on vacation!!! Do you recommend we write to the hotel? Great vacation

Hotel was nice. the wait at the bars were long, sometimes they didn't have items on the menu from the a la carte restaurant. Sunwing is a horrible flight experience, always out of everything from the menu onboard, passengers that are loud and ignorant.

Best Choice in NEGRIL

Book Hideaway section or Diamond Club. You will be not disappointed. Don't go for the cheapest room without any privileges. Trips to Black river + and YC falls, Sunset catamaran to Ricks Cafe with snorkeling is a must.

Great resort and very friendly staff!

The hotel was great. The staff really made the difference and took care of us all week with a smile. No big lineups meant walking into dinner with very little wait times. The rooms were very modern and had lots of room. I really appreciated the big hot tub in the room. The 24/7 no charge room service option is a great idea.

Royalton Negril Review

My family (two parents two kids ages 10 and 12) stayed at the Royalton Negril this February 2020. Very nice resort, great food, great beach, wonderful staff. The vibe team(entertainment crew) and fitness staff made this resort very memorable for all the right reasons. We stayed in the diamond club section, which allows access to a quieter end of the resort, although there are still daily beach activities with the entertainment crew. If you are looking for absolute quiet, this resort is full o [... read more]f energy during the day and may not be for you. If you are looking to have the kids entertained, while you read a great book on the beach, then this is the spot.

Royalton Negril

The Royalton is a beautiful hotel, with great amenities for all types of vacations. The beach is charming and safe. The rooms are large and convenient to the pools and beach. There are fabulous views of the beach from most rooms. There are several restaurant choices. Their menus provide a variety of food choices. We found that it was difficult to get food that was "hot". Most meals were barely warm at best. We enjoyed our vacation and would return. Next time, we would hire a car to  [... read more]go to the hotel, because the shuttle bus stopped at to many hotels, causing the 1 1/4 hour commute to be 3 1/2 hours. Far to long.

WONT GO BACK

This resort is not worth the money they charge. The rooms are beautiful and so it the beach. The food isn't great not a lot of heathy options for the kids and lots of processed food. There is not services and tips are expected. We had to tip the guy on the beach everyday just to get a chair and we had paid the extra for diamond club. Even with diamond club if you want a cabana it will cost you a minimum of 80 USD up to 160 USD depending if you would like food and drinks in you cabana per day. Th [... read more]ere are people in the diamond club section that have just the standard bracelets. The services is poor to non existent. Their time share people will harass you everyday. They wait at the bottom of the building at breakfast time and dinner time and the bottom of the escalators and will try to convince you to go their breakfast and their presentation. When you tell them your not interested they will follow you to where ever you are going and continue with their speech. Don't go! Other people staying at the resort warned us, high pressure sales and they will eat up a whole day of your time. We had paid extra for a butler we saw him the first day and never say him again the whole week. I have stayed at other resorts in the same price point and gotten much better services. it is really to bad because it is a beautiful resort and a beautiful beach but make not mistake it is not close to all inclusive.

An Awesome Resort

We stayed at this resort for the week before Christmas and fell in love!! It is a great resort, with an awesome beach, great service and lots of food options. We have been to the Carribean several times and this is our favorite resort so far!

Beautiful resort

Upon arrival we were greeted by Madonna who helped with a very easy checkin then escorted us to our room for the week, it was very elegant and we were so happy to see where we would spend our week, the view was incredible! Madonna checked on us a couple of times during the week, she was very helpful and friendly. The restaurants were fantastic especially enjoyed Ocean Pointe, what a view! There we met the friendliest waitress Shimma, she went above & beyond our expectations to be friendly and ta [... read more]lked about the island and Jamaica, our last night the restaurant was closed but she came to see us at the sunset and helped take our picture in this beautiful place. We again had the pleasure of the talking to Shimma at the Dorado restaurant where I had the best lamb chops ever, my husband had the lobster bisque and shrimp fettuccine and Shimma took such good care of us. We also had the pleasure of the best maid service at any hotel, her name was Patricia, extremely friendly and such a good and efficient maid service. We enjoyed talking to her and looked forward to running into her daily. We went twice to see the entertainment shows Michael Jackson & Reggae night and enjoyed the shows very much. Overall very impressed with the Hideaway resort and look forward to returning again in the near future.

Wonderful Family Trip

We stayed as a family of 9 with 4 separate rooms. We decided to pick all Diamond Club and I believe it was worth the extra cost. Our Butler team of Denesha and Damion were fantastic and multiple times went that extra little bit to help make our trip wonderful. We had issues with lights in one of our rooms for the first 2 days, and after a few maintenance trips it was resolved - they were always quick to come look when I called about it. The restaurant staff was mostly great, with a few exceptions around speed of service and one or two who just didn't seem to want to be there. My biggest disappointment was the kids club (broken air hockey and limited toys) and that Max and Ruby weren't around as advertised and my kids were told "they went on a long vacation". One more set of problems I had was that the Diamond Club swim up bar had speakers, but was never playing any music and I was told they don't work plus a few times it ran out of a certain alcohol and they either said sorry no more or someone had to go get some (and only got some in a small cup for 1 or 2 servings). My final issue was some ceiling damage that was flaking down the whole time over top of one of the pull out beds. I didn't notice this until the last day, but my kid told me it happened the whole time (I didn't report it until check out as I didn't know) so I can't say if they would've fixed it or not. All my issues aside, we had a great family trip. The food was spectacular (no ribs the whole time made some of us sad) and the place was well kept generally. The staff always greeted people and some stopped to talk to us and the kids. We had a few team members who were exceptional, especially with the kids.

Lower your standards for service

The good- Rooms were great. Resort is clean modern and beautiful. Beach is beautiful. Food is good for the most part. The bad- Resort is smaller than we are used to. There is only one small pool that we have access to. You must upgrade to diamond club to get full 5 star experience. The service was the worst I have ever experienced from all of my vacation experiences. You will be offered drugs at some point during vacation. People smoke marijuana all over the place. You can smell it. I will [... read more] not be returning. There are way too many better options out there that offer much more for less. This was an expensive vacation and we could have had a better time somewhere else for half the price.

Best resort

The hotel was amazing. clean rooms, fun friendly staff, fun nightly shows food was delicious and the butlers made sure everything went well through the whole week. I will definitely be rebooking next year.

Beautiful Location & People!

This is the first time we stayed at a Royalton resort, and we didn’t want to go home! This resort is breathtaking and we’d go back again. Spacious junior suite with comfortable king bed and spacious shower, and latest technology. We celebrated our 30th anniversary so they upgraded us to a swim up room. Pleasing pool, with lots of lounge chairs and cabanas. Get there early to reserve your space! Seven restaurants on-site, although we only had time to visit Grazie Italian, Armadillo Tex [... read more]-Mex, Hunters Steak House, Gourmet Marche, and Score Sports Bar. Good portions for all meals with great presentation. Nightly entertainment including Jamaica night, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson tribute, Beauty and Beast, and Steel Drums. As our plane was not leaving till end of day, they checked us out (still use facilities), stored our luggage, and provided us a courtesy room to shower/change later in day before leaving for airport…..this was nice! Jamaican people are very friendly and work hard to please. Whenever we saw someone going above and beyond we tipped. Tasmin from Sunwing/Nexus was a big help and available throughout the day to answer any questions we needed and to arrange excursions. Yah Mon! We loved Jamaica. Irie. You can’t go wrong with Royalton!

Fantastic Resort

This resort exceeded all expectations. Beautiful grounds, impeccable service, wonderful friendly staff. The Royalton Is a must! Check in was fast and efficient. The food was delicious and freshly prepared every day no complaints or faults to report. The ocean was absolutely beautiful with crystal clear warm shallow water. Family friendly but not overwhelming! Melissa our butler/friend went above and beyond she is exceptional!!! Wonderful resort! Love Jamaica!!

Amazing resort!

The Royalton Negril is a wonderful resort. My mom and I went there for a week to relax. The service was great, and so was the food! We stayed in Block 6 room 6018, and it smelt a bit musty in the room, but that's to be expected due to the humidity. It was also to the side of the mainstage, so you could hear the performances that start at 9pm every night, so be aware of this if you book in this Block. The room was clean, and so were the grounds. The beach was great too. They do rope off the [... read more] area you can swim, and I wish it went out a bit further, but nothing to do about that. The only thing I could say is that they didn't seem to have a lot of snorkel gear on hand, as it is free for everyone to use, but once it's loaned out, there's no guarantee of when it will be returned so, it would be better to have more on-hand. Overall, it was a great place to stay and I recommend it!
