Love the Daiquiri

Resort was beautiful! Nice and small for those with younger children or for those that don't want to walk lots to get from point A to point B. Lobby was beautiful and open. Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Beach was AMAZING. Lots of chairs and shade. Food was good but flies were terrible!! Staff were so friendly especially the lady working the beach bar...knew our name by her next shift. I would 100% recommend this hotel for a relaxing vacation. Look forward to going back again soon!

Beautiful resort

The resort is just beautiful,very clean very friendly working people,anything needed got on it rite away,luved that,BUT dinning is horrid,flies all over the food and tables,they even came on hands face anywhere they could,didnt want to eat the food,just covered in flies,what a shame,something has to be done to get rid of that,beach was also beautiful,other than dinning it would of been a great week.I would recommend this resort except for dinning,sorry for that,eat food that they cook infront of [... read more] you.

Paradise

My daughter and I spent the first week of May at this resort. We stayed in the Granma building which was very close to everything so no unnecessary long walks anywhere which we prefer. The room was clean and such comfortable beds. Air conditioning worked very well. Looked forward to the wonderful creations that the maid did everyday with our towels and blankets. Lots of entertainment throughout the day and every evening, always plenty of seating. The Buffett has plenty of fresh food everyday but be warned there is not much variety so you will need to be creative if this isn’t to your liking. There is a snack bar behind the pool that serves French fries and sandwiches throughout the day. The flies were really bad at the Buffett, the staff did what they could to control them. The beach was amazing, beautiful! Tons of shade to hangout all day. Tropical fish will swim around you while you swim. You can walk quite the distance in either direction. Tips should be given in paper money, not coin. Coin is useless for them. But even better take some extra bars of soap or toothpaste to give out instead. They lack basic essentials. If you google it there is a good list of things they need. Also don’t forget the gardeners. We love this resort and will be returning often.

Awesome 7 day stay!!

Extremely well laid out resort, tastefully colored and decorated and clean as a whistle EVERYWHWERE. A very friendly and appreciative staff. Accommodations were very comfortable. Entertainment was professional and quite impressive. The bars could use a menu to identify what is available. Exceeded expectations

We visited this resort May 1-8 and had an amazing time. We previously stayed here 12 years ago and loved it then, but with all the shortages and stories of bad food and poor drink selection, we went with low expectations. We were plesantly surprised by how good the food was and there were plenty of choices at all the bars. Our room was adequate, clean with plenty of hot water to shower and nice cool air conditioning. We have travelled all over Cuba and Mexico and this resort remains one of our favorites!

Friendly and welcoming

The Daiquiri is full of character, from the decorations, the colorfully buildings and the landscaping and all the staff are so friendly and very helpful. You can tell they take pride on what they do, from the women who clean your rooms, the gardeners, the cleaning people, the servers, the entertainers and your friendly bartenders and also the front desk staff. We have been to Cuba 7 times and this was our best food ever. We will probably be back. Great beach and always room around the pool.

Amazing resort

Grounds and public areas are well kept. Room is clean. Dining is passable, don't expect too much in Cuba. Staff are very courteous and helpful. WiFi not too great. Ample lounges in pool area as well as at beach.

Nice resort

Food was not too bad 8/10 for resorts pools were very nice Bring lots of sunscreen Cubans are very friendly and help you the best they can Beautiful, nice long boardwalk you can jump in to the ocean Snorkelling was absolutely amazing

Loved every minute

Another amazing week at the Iberostar. Good food (as far as I know they ran out of pop, but that doesn't effect us as we are not pop drinkers.) weather was amazing, staff so friendly and the shows are amazing. Now the down side, there is a new (very green) manager who is not in the least bit interested in how happy his guests are. When speaking with staff, they are all not happy with him. He won't even speak to many of the staff, no good morning, doesn't know many by name. Which is really sad  [... read more]because you can feel tension when he is around.

Beautiful Vacay

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and stay at Iberostar Daiquiri, Guillermo Jardines Del Reyes. Expectations were absolutely met. No food or supply shortages. Staff were all absolutely Amazing. Always smiling and genuinely wanting to help and serve you. Our only feedback would be a better explanation of the wifi access/limits and a venue with some snacking food available 24 hours. Outside of that again it was a fantastic stay!!

Great resort to relax !

The pros definitely outweigh the cons of staying at this resort. My cousin and I went the week of April 1st and the purpose of the trip was to relax so this resort being a smaller resort was a great place to do just that. We were in an ocean view room in the Varadero building. Clean rooms a little dated but everything was fine with exception of the toilet not flushing properly. The staff were friendly and very attentive when we needed service. Like most people we don’t go to Cuba for the food  [... read more] but I was happy that they had bread and rolls at every meal, poached eggs boiled eggs and omelettes at breakfast. As well there was always some kind of fruit to eat. Pork, beef, chicken and fish were usually all available at the grill along with pasta station stir fry and fried rice station. No going hungry and for a week I don’t mind having the same choices everyday as I could just pick something different to eat. We talked to a lot of other people who loved the resort and kept coming back. We never had to reserve a chair at the beach and there were always some available no matter how late we ventured down. The only true negative for me was that the beach had seaweed about 10 feet into the water . You could walk down the beach in either direction and find a wide beach with no seaweed so wasn’t a deal breaker but I would have preferred a better beach. I could walk 25-30 minutes in either direction so it was a great beach to walk and lots of sea shells. Entertainment in the lobby every night and people liked to sit around and relax. There were night shows in the theatre as well as a disco however we were too tired to bother so not sure about these. I was happy with this resort.

Lovely

What a wonderful resort. Food was plentiful and tasty. Staff warm, welcoming and friendly. Could use a bit of a variety of liquor and snacks but no real complaints ??? Would be nice to have screens on patio doors and waiters at the pool.

We had a good vacation, but with some caveats.

We spend a week at Iberostar Daiquiri at the end of March 2024. Small group of 5 people. First impression was 'What a rathole we got ourselves into!' - reasons being flight came late, check-in took very long, and no restaurant was working, hotel does not have ANY food provisions for arrivals after 22:00. So hungry/angry guests go to sleep in Cuban style - hungry! Don't have any REAL 24-h snack bar. Also rooms are looking old and musty, some lights not working, some furniture missing. Rooms were  [... read more]clean, but still first impression was not favorable. Next morning we were rested, ate and had a nice swim, things look better. Overall, we had not a bad vacation! So here is the list of pros and cons: Food was good, probably the best we had in Cuba recently. Both fresh fruits and meats/fish present and well prepared. To the chief chef - thank you sir/madam!!! No shortages (at least no considerable ones). Beach is nice, sand is clean and white, seaweed cleaned out daily, enough lounges/shades, beach bar - good, Pier is maintained and nice. Coconuts - cut for you for a small fee daily. When wind is mild, swimming is very pleasant, but no reef close to the beach. you see lots of fish hiding under pier from birds. you can also see the lion-fish under the adjacent hotel's pier. We spotted starfish and sting rays once. Staff is friendly and tries to help - even the infamous front desk staff. Waiting staff at the restaurants are somewhat slow, but bearable. Showers are good and working, hot water present. Internet is limited to 7 hours per week, but is relatively fast and present in the rooms too! Very good!!! Reef is in 1 km to 3 km from the beach - catamaran ride for $20 or excursion for $50. Reef is so-so, but at least present. 1 hour bicycle rent is included, also 30 min catamaran run is included - use it, we liked it. Cons: Mosquitos near rooms and beach. Was not so bad for us, but some guests were all red spots, like chickenpox. WINDY. I mean - kite-boarding and stronger. Could be a pro if you kite, but for swimming - not good. out of 7 days 4 were too windy, and 3 were very calm and nice. Rooms are spacious but aged, they smell faintly of age, for some could be a big con. NO food provisions for arrivals after 22:00. if your flight arrives after 9 pm prepare some sandwich for that. IF hotel admin reading this - you are CRAZY not providing this, EVERY other hotel - even 2 star ones have something for late arrivals. it creates VERY BAD first impression. First connection to the internet was iffy and confusing, messages are in Spanish, even if you choose English. Once you are connected - done your browsing/calling/uploading, disconnect to save hours for later, next connection is ok, though wait for it, takes few seconds waiting. You don't need to enter password again - just wait. That is it. Few tricks: if you ran out of internet hours - go ask front desk for more, no charge. If you want snorkeling - instead of catamaran for $20, you can go to Diving center (600 m walk to the left) and ask to ride as a passenger - same $20, but reef is nicer and bigger. They depart around 9:30 and 11:30 (approx) Check out a wild flamingo flock - 1.5 km total walk from the beach to the right (800m) and at the next hotel (starfish) right again - another 600m almost to the main road, flamingo laguna is on the left.

Okay Resort

Lobby was inviting and the food and food staff were very good! Room quality was not good. Phone did not work, safe was broken, only hot water. Reported to frontdesk and was told by work people that came to our room; they could not do anything about it. Housekeeping was not great . Grounds people were extremely friendly.

Love it here!

Congratulations Iberstar Daiqui on your 25th Anniversary! We stayed from March 9th to the 16th and loved every minute. No problem from the Aéroport, to the bus, to the resort and through check in. Lovely welcome with a refreshing drink at the lobby and safety room for our luggage until our room was ready. Looks like there was a refresh in the lobby furniture and the buildings had been painted. Full complement of staff and it was so nice to be recognized by familiar faces. There was a problem with flies in the main dining room last year but not this year. Beaches were immaculate, grounds were lush and in full bloom and our room was always clean and well supplied (thank you Ladies of the Varodaro building). Seems like all excursions were up and running; entertainment both in the lobby and at the entertainment building were in full swing and games and activities at the beach and pool were going strong. Great fun! We have always recommended the Daiqui to our fellow Canadians and our stay this year has just re-enforced our support. Thanx to all the staff for a wonderful week in the sun! I loved Iberostar Daquari

I enjoyed staying at the Daquari and I would recommend it to my friends for sure. The food was very good, the staff were amazing, and the beach and hotel and pool were outstanding. I WILL COME BACK~ It was my first visit to Cuba!

Amazing resort

Staff were awesome. Been to this resort so many times & its my 2nd home. Was here in Oct, Nov & just got back again (feb). Everyone goes out of their way to help make your stay welcoming. From the front desk people right to the cleaning staff, gardeners wait staff etc. I'd highly recommend this resort to everyone. You won't be disappointed. Friendly Clean Resort

Beach is amazing. Staff is friendly and attentive and if you had a problem it was addressed immediately to the best of what could be done given the shortages and limitations that are Cuba. There are no pushy people selling you anything on the beach so that was nice and particular to Cuba. The rooms are basic. Fresh towels and bottles of water everyday. The areas are sprayed for mosquitos daily so that was not a real issue other than for an hour or so at dusk. No cereal for breakfast although plain oats was an option. I will be back again....
