Decent resort

Overall this hotel was decent. The service was top notch and the food was very good. This is a great place for kids. However, as I read prior to going in another review, the pool (specially on the adult side) really wasn't clean went in it 2 times only and once to tje hotel beach. Unfortunately during our stay there was a lot of seeweed as it had rained in the days prior. Tje staff was working nigjt and day to clean the beach... but really there was so much that it was i.possible to get do [... read more]ne in 1 day... took them at least days. We were lucky as we foind another spot in Puerto Vallarta to enjoy the beach the rest of our stay (thank god!)

Very good resort

Everything at the resort was A-1 From cleanliness to friendliness, the facilities and staff were incredible. We never had a bad meal and our overall expectations were exceeded regularly. Our one and only hiccup came when we inadvertently got caught up in a “Holiday Club” presentation we had no intention of joining.

Great service

Overall, the resort is small and perfect for families. The staff provided good service. The food could be better. The grounds were nice and cleaned, daily. As for the rooms, they are nice but have a musty odour.

Amazing resort with the best service around!

Everything from start to finish was absolutely amazing! Every where you went the service was amazing. Everyone was very helpful and kind. The gated community of puerto Aventuras was probably the best part. We walked down to the strip of restaurants and shops a couple nights and felt just as safe as Canada. Everyone was friendly and not pushy when it came to the shops

This is my absolute favourite resort in Mexico

I've been to multiple resorts in Mexico and I like this one the best. It's located in a small gated community that contains private residences and a few other hotels all on the water and marina. Other Amenities in Puerto Aventuras are a Golf course and Multiple Marina locations for fishing and Dolphin swimming. All of which can be accessed by Golf cart or foot. Very safe and very friendly. Beach is nice and water calm and great for kids or Adults alike. It's very clean and the restaurants are all very unique. Now it is my favourite resort to take my kids. Its small and safe, your kids don't need to be kept on a short leash. They can roam around freely and if you have very small children the Explorers club gives mom and time to relax if you like, at no charge. It's full of fun activities for the kids and they enjoyed it when they were younger for sure. If you after a huge resort with a million people it's not for you . But if your after a great time in a smaller but well kept resort this is for you. However the standards are very high and the people are the best. It has an adult side and a family side if you want the best of both worlds. Dreams has a very high standard. I've been here with my kids 8 times and will return again. It's like our home away from home. It's a short ride to Playa del Carmen and a short ride to Tulum. It's right in the middle. It also has Dolphins right at the resort. And Manitess a short distance from the resort. Theres also a really cool Barber shop right around the corner. Highly recommend this resort for all ages. Big night life just a short ride away to Playa aswell.

Great get-a-way!

For the first time in Mexico, this hotel was well worth it! From check in to check out, everyone was friendly and very helpful. loved the adult side:) Overall I will come back to this resort for the family atmosphere!

Amazing time

I really loved this resort the staff was amazing! It was nice you didn’t have to wear wrist bands. And you got unlimited anything anywhere. It was nice they had an adult only pool. I really didn’t wanna hear screaming kids all day! All the food was amazing my fav was the sushi place. The only down side was my room had a lot of things that where broken. Other than that it was amazing and I would go back!

Excellent resort

Room was very clean Bed very comfortable. Food was very good. Service excellent. Would return. The beach had too much seaweed. That was the only complaint. But when we told front desk they offered a shuttle for hotel next door to use.

Very Nice and Clean Resort worth visiting

We took a last minute trip and this was a second choice given since the one that we wanted was no longer available, I was a bit skeptic about it but it turn out to be a great experience. The hotel is not huge which it is great for us, I hate the big hotels, the food was delicious and the drinks were also great. One thing that always burns me in Mexico is the choice of wine, well let me tell you that there is a decent wine that they serve as part of the included package, it is Chilean and they  [... read more]have red, white and rose and all of them are awesome. For some of the more picky drinker, you can dish out some money and get more choices, they have French, Spanish, Americans and German wines, the prices ranges. the place is kept in an immaculate state thanks to the army of personnel that are always cleaning the place, even after a shower, they come up and start cleaning just to start raining again, once it stops, out they go again cleaning the place, kudos for such a huge effort to keep the place spotless. The only drawback was all the weed that wash ashore, nothing that they have any saying about it since it was mother's nature but they had a lot of people and heavy machinery cleaning up the place, amazing that in the last day the beach was completely clean. I have nothing but a great experience, it was the first time that I have visited the DREAMS chain and probably now it will be the one that I will look for on my next trip, which they don't have in Ixtapa, which it's my next trip next month. My recommendation is that you should visit this place, it is worth it; kudos to all the personnel from all departments, entertainment, restaurants, cleaning, bars, all of them deserve a high five for such a great job.

Perfect resort!

The resort is smaller than we have previously stayed in but was perfect for us. One of our party has difficulty walking long distances but this resort is well laid out and distances to the beach and restaurants were just right. Food at the buffet and the specialty restaurants was very good and the service excellent. The beach accumulated seaweed in the first few days (not the resorts fault) but the staff worked diligently and soon had it under control. Exactly what we needed!

Loved the following about the resort: - Smaller sized resort - No reservations required to a la carte dinners - No bracelets required on resort - Walking distance to marina, shops, other restaurants and nightlife - Adult only area - Great wifi throughout resort - No fighting for chairs on beach or pool I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxed no stress atmosphere with or without a family.

Fabulous resort and surrounding area!

We loved our family trip to Dreams Puerto Adventuras. The gated community that surrounds the resort felt safe and secure. We took a walk around the marina and market area every morning. We watched the fishing boats get ready for their day trips while numerous pelicans waited nearby. The resort itself has so much to offer. A nice beach area where the snorkelling was great! A shout o [... read more]ut to the amazing Entertainment crew of Alberto, Giovanni, Bernice and Mitzi !!!!! They welcomed us with open arms and treated our 10 year old son as one of their own!!! We enjoyed the food at all the restaurants. Our favourite spot for lunch was the Seaside Grill where Juan, Edgar and Andreas took such great care in serving us with humour and enthusiasm!!! The Dolphin Discovery is right beside the resort. By far the best swim with the dolphins around for a great price!!! The Amstar reps in the main lobby were very knowledgeable about excursions off the resort. Easy to book. We chose a half day trip to Tulum to see the ruins. Lots of great excursion choices in this area. Will definitely choose to do a snorkel and cenote excursion when we return:) Snorkel reef trips leave right from the marina so you do not have to get in a van or bus to get there. This was by far one of our best family vacations ever!!!

Dreams Purertro Aventuras

I had a wonderful time. The staff was all so kind, including the entertainment group. The housekeeping was outstanding at keeping everything clean. I had such a wonderful week at the resort and will return to visit them all again. We only had one problem and that was the person who stocked the fridge. We had bought some beer of our own and he saw it in our fridge and he did and would not leave any of what he was supposed to stock our fridge with. that really upset me. Nice Area

The hotel is a bit tired. The room we had was okay but smelled musty and was very damp. The beach is very small and only waist deep with lots of reef and seaweed. This is a place more suitable for family with children, there were many things for the children, a big pool and the resort did a lot of events with them. It was a bit small and noisy, with the lobby having live music every night, and many rooms are around the lobby area. The hotel has a nice staff that is very helpful and they had very good entertainment at night.

Beautiful resort

We found this resort very clean friendly and lots of activities. The staff were very accommodating and made our holiday super. The dolphins and manitee were really great at the resort. We rented a golf course and checked out the community which is very friendly and very secure to be there.

Relaxing times at Puerto Aventuras

Friendly staff makes you feel at home and taken care of. Nice setting where everything is within a 3 minutes walk from your bedroom. Good food quality and variety. A few special events keeps some novelty. Could update some facilities, especially kids and sport equipment and infrastructure. Great for families with very young kids.

Amazing 5 days!

It was my first trip to Mexico and resort with my daughter and three grandsons therefore I have nothing to compare it too! But from my personal experience I enjoyed everything from the flight to the food the resort and especially the people who work there! They really give their all entertainment was great and my grandsons totally enjoyed their time in the pool and the kids club was amazing! Absolutely an amazing resort

We loved the intimate size of the resort. We love to snorkel, great here. We love to play beach volleyball, excellent. The entertainment crew is incredible. We are already looking at returning to this resort.

Dreams Puerto Aventuras-Pleasantly surprised.

After reading many negative reviews about this resort, I had pretty low expectations and I was a little nervous of our upcoming stay. After staying there for a week, I must say that there are many truths to some of the reviews but the trip is also what you make out of it and how high your expectations. We got an excellent deal on resort and you get what you pay for and that's exactly what we got. On arrival, I was surprised at how small the lobby was, it was also very hot and humid but we we [... read more]re promptly greeted by staff and given a glass of champagne. Check in was quick and our rooms were ready as soon as we arrived. The room was small and dated and was hot on arrival. The AC was set to 15degrees but the room was still showing 22degrees. We immediately when down to the lobby to have someone fix the AC and someone was in our room within 20 minutes to fix the AC. We never had any issues with the AC for the rest of the stay. Like I said, the room was small, very dark and very dated. The lamp in the room was filthy and the night stand and main table in the room was fairly sticky. The bathroom mirror was corroded and the sink fixtures and tray with toiletries was dirty. The room is very dark and only has a lamp to light the entire bedroom area. We had no issues with clogged toilets and the shower pressure was really good and the tub drained fine. We had no issues with having our fridge stocked up daily and was always able to get lots of new towels from hotel staff. The restaurants were not all open due to it being low season. We managed to eat at all of the restaurants with the exception of the Sea Side Grill. All of the restaurants were petty good, food came out hot. The buffet was a little disappointing. There weren't very many choices and it seemed like the same food from the previous day was being served the next. There is always a lot of Mexican style food being served and not enough "American" food. There was also a lack of seafood at this resort, unless you ordered a tiny piece of mahi mahi or salmon from the a la carte restaurants, there was no fresh fish or shrimp. There was no shrimp for the entire week of our stay. We were also surprised that there was no top shelf liquor here. We stayed at a sister resort and had no trouble getting top shelf alcohol like Grey Goose or even Don Julio tequila. The Barefoot grill had amazing pizzas and we ate this every single day, multiple times a day. The grill would also put out a small buffet in the late afternoon which was very nice as well. The outdoor buffets were our favorite and really enjoyed the food here, there was an abundance of meat choices as well as vegetarian choices. The staff at this hotel were amazing! Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond and made the effort to get to know us and what we liked. The entertainment staff was exceptional. They truly made our stay and without them, we probably wouldn't have enjoyed. We always looked forward to Giovanni and his energy and his whole team. There was a lot of activities to do and shows in the evening although they did end pretty early. The sports bar was also a nice place to go to in the evening, another pool table would have been nice as well as a dart board. The pool is small and gets quick murky near the end of the day but the staff was working hard throughout he day fishing out leaves and debris as well as fixing broken tiles in the pool. The beach is also small but it was nice to be able to snorkel here. We had no trouble with beach chairs but it was low season. Overall, our stay was better than expected and we enjoyed ourselves.
