Second time here and it is even better then our first visit!

We decided to return to a Palladium resort as they always exceed our expectations. We previously stayed twice at the Palladium in Punta Cana and it fulfilled all our desires. A friend recommended the Palladium in the Riviera Mayan. So we booked at the Kantenah section and it was just perfect. This year we decided last minute. We wanted a Palladium resort and wanted to use the Hamilton airport to avoid Toronto. This time we stayed at the Colonial section. Last time we were really impressed, [... read more] this time we were blown away. The room was large and included a cozy king size bed. The meals were delicious. I thought the meals rivalled any meal on a cruise ship. The workers couldn’t do enough for us whether we tipped or not. There is a lot of walking because this is a large complex. Most of the walking areas are covered and well lit. We spent most of the time at the beach, but there are many pools. Although we are retired, we did notice that there was a fun club for the kids. The pool area for the little ones was amazing and well used. My only complaint was the fruity drinks. It seems like they used crystals instead of real juice. All in all this was a fantastic vacation and I will continue to book with the Palladium chain. Thanks Victoria at Tripcental for taking care of us.

Some great things!

We spent Christmas at the TRS section. We had three rooms and were upgraded. Very nice facility however no beach in the TRS section and the TRS section of the beach is a bit of a jaunt. Food was sub par. COLD on more than one occasion. The best part of the TRS experience was the staff they are fabulous. Tram service also a highlight but the food issue needs to be addressed especially at the Poseidon and El Gaucho. Japanese and the French Le Boheme were good, Le Boheme was my favourite. “Fantastic 3rd time”

My husband & I just stayed at the Grand Palladium Colonial from Oct 30 - Nov 9/18 and we had a absolutely fantastic vacation. This is our third time to this resort and will continue to return again & again. The service was above & beyond, from our check in at the reception to every other staff member at the resort. The food was fantastic in the buffet, so many choices. The only thing I would like to see is a better selection in the Mexican. I can have Tacos, burritos & fajitas at home. I  [... read more]am not saying that the food was bad just would really like to have some traditional Mexican food, something very different. The room was very clean and the fridge stocked daily. There was only one day where housekeeping forgot to leave us towels but oh well, everyone forgets sometimes. We met up with our friends from London who were staying on the TRS side of the resort. We went up to their room one evening and WOW! I think my husband & I and going to try the TRS side the nexttime, it is absolutely stunning! Overall I have no complaints about our stay in the Colonial. We had a fruit basket delivered to our room the day after we arrived which was a very nice touch. We spent our days at the Colonial Adult/Secret pool and had the best service we have ever had. Our bartenders name was Irvin and he was amazing! He never sat down, he was constantly coming around and getting drinks for everyone. I think he deserves to be rewarded for his wonderful service and friendliness. It is people like Irvin that make you want to go back to a place. Thank you Irvin and every other staff member that works there you all deserve a medal. Great trip!

The room was great and resort was beautiful and very clean. Service was great except for the beach al a carte restaurant but other than that outstanding- loved the Thai restaurant Went to the White Sands pool most days never a problem finding a spot by the pool

Amazingly Clean!

Cleanliness is very important. Grounds are super well kept. Service is excellent. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Great resort, lots to do for the kids

Great resort. Lots to do for the kids. the sports park is great in the evenings before dinner always a few soccer games going on which the kids could take part in. this was our 3rd time at the resort and the resort has definitely upgraded the quality of their shows in the evenings. They were well publicized and definitely top notch. I wish they had a few additional ping pong tables around the pool. these seem to be popular with everyone and lineup are rather long. additionally for the a-l [... read more]a-carte's they need to do something about the time it takes. We went the Mexican and Italian restaurants and both were 90 minute wait's even though it seemed as though the place was empty.

Excellent family resort

We travelled to this resort for seven days around New Years 2018. It was our second visit to this resort. Check in was efficient and friendly. Our room, a junior suite, clean and well furnished and maintained. The rooms are sized big enough to store all of our luggage and still move freely. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice with a good shower. Grounds were well maintained. Food at the buffets was very good. We tried a couple of the a la cartes, and they were a bit "h [... read more]it and miss" as the waits were long and probably not worth the wait, although the food quality and service was very good. We used mostly the main pool at the Coloniel and it is very nice. Service at the swim up bar was excellent. There were a lot of activities going on around the pool which would satisfy most age groups. Bars serve Dos Equis beer, which is decent. Liquor was of decent quality, and bar staff was always fun and friendly. The beach isn't fantastic for swimming, but is a nice area for lounging. The resort also has a sizable "sports area" with soccer fields, volleyball, tennis and basketball, amongst other sports. The evenings usually featured an international pickup soccer game which became a highlight for my teenaged son. Nightlife is probably lacking as the resort is some ways from the clubs in Playa, and not much is going on at night, but for families this may not be an issue. If you are going to party, this probably isn't the resort for you. Location is quite a way from Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Good that the resort is somewhat isolated, but about 1 hour drive from the Cancun airport and about a 20 minute shuttle from Playa. Overall, the resort is well maintained, with nice rooms, good food and service and nice pool. Beach and "nightlife" were negatives.

Beautiful Mayan

Nothing I am going to write will take away from the beauty of staying at Grand Palladium Colonial ! We booked well in advance to have a second floor room so as to leave our door open at night because we don't do well sleeping in air conditioning , but we were placed on the ground floor even though there were rooms available above us not in use . Our room assignment was made out without anyone looking at it and the person refused to make changes . This was reported to the manager who promised [... read more] to correct everything and look into the matter . Pedro , the front desk manager , offered to move us but four days in we opted to stay where we were rather than have the upheaval !! Our travel agent DID NOT inform us that Sunquest Vacations has no rep on site and therefore we had to make our own plans for excursions etc . I had to e-mail to Sunquest for our pickup times which we finally received only to have the bus run late and we barely made it to Cancun Airport by boarding time !! The beaches were great as always , the food very presentable , nice location on the Mayan Riviera . Not sure about our next vacation as the choices are numerous !! Trips like this are very expensive so please everyone make the traveller your top priority !!!

It was nice

The hotel was nice and comfy clean and roomy air conditioning after the humid temperatures outside lots of mosquitoes but I know you can't control that. I love how you put pecies of nature in the resort how it was open and beautiful. But the food could have better some of it made me sick but the Japanese restaurant was amazing and the buffet was good

Absolutely Zero Complaints!!

I was so impressed with this hotel. Not only was it an amazing hotel for kids, with its awesome water park and phenomenal kids club, but it was impeccably clean and well taken care of. I never saw one dirty bathroom on the whole premise. The service was great and the people were so friendly and helpful! We even had a medical scare that included a trip to the hospital, and the hotel was right on top of it and even gave my son a get better soon gift which he is taking to school for show and tell!! [... read more] It really was a wonderful vacation, and I'm very sad to be home! Third visit and still amazing!

We just returned from renewing our vows at Grand Pallidium Colonial resort. Elsa our wedding coordinator was amazing during planning and organizing every last detail. Resort was loved by all 25 family members traveling with us. Resort clean, service and food amazing. There was a little mess up with room set up with our family of 6 but they worked to rectify asap. Very happy and relaxing trip

Excellent resort

Excellently food, nice pools, lots of activities for kids, great for family vacations. A lot of walking but plenty of golf carts transporting people all over resort. I would recommend to friends with or without children. There's something for everyone.

Paradise!!!!!!!!!!

This resort was absolutely amazing! Words can't even describe how great our experience was at the Grand Palladium Resort & Spa in Mexico. From the minute we entered foot in the front lobby we were treated with amazing service. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The resort is well maintained and I mean extremely maintained. The gardens, pools, beach, rooms are all well taken care of. Some Good, and some not so good...

The resort offers a lot of pluses and a few minuses... Plus: The resort is very clean, the staff are lovely and helpful, the grounds are beautiful and the beach and pools are amazing. Even at March Break, it didn't seem overly crowded -except perhaps at dinner time. Never a problem getting a spot on the beach or pools. Minus: Huge resort. A lot of walking. No reservations, but your entire party has to be there at the same time or you wait an hour + - even when table sit empty. Buffets are...poor. Esp. for dinner. Beds are thin mattresses on top of box springs, but clean, up to date, rooms. My free bottle of Tequila disappeared after a day...not sure where.... Overall, I preferred the Azul resort much better but I went offseason so it may be more expensive. BTW the teen lounge is a joke as is the wifi...don't expect either to keep your teens entertained OR to keep in touch with them via text.

Absolutely beautiful resort

Love the natural landscape, pathways to lobby & restaurants, trolleys to the other hotels. Pool and beach were amazing,staff was super friendly and helpful. Large variety of food choices. Would definitely go back.

Great Resort

Beautiful well maintained property . Clean comfortable rooms . Lots of different pools including adult pools . Plenty of eating areas with no shortage of good food . This is a large property with shuttles to get you around if walking is not your thing . Located on the Caribean Sea this resort has it all and we will return again soon for our forth visit .

Great time!!!

i just returned from my stay at the grand palladium colonial in mexico and i have to say that i am over the moon happy with my week spent there. from the moment i arrived at the resort i felt spoiled. it is a beautiful resort and the pictures you see online is what you are going to get. very clean and well maintained with a emphasis on being ecologically mindful. the food was amazing and no matter how picky of an eater you are you will definitely be able to find something to eat no problem. nev [... read more]er had to wait long to get a drink at any of the bars. no problem getting a lounger at the beach, which by the way is amazing. perfect weather. the staff are very friendly and more than willing to help in whatever way they can. great shows and there is always something to do. they also had a great area for children with a water park, very family friendly resort. when i next travel alone i will certainly be staying at one of the grand palladium resorts. thanks again for the wonderful stay, i certainly didnt want to come home!!!!

Super Toddler friendly!

I have two kids - age 3.5 and 2. They enjoyed the kids menu, the kiddie water park, the shallow pools and loved LOVED the shows in the Colonial theatre. They were up and dancing to the tunes. Best vacation for kids.

Our one week stay

Although it was a bit of a rocky check in having to wait until 3 before we could get in our rooms and arrived at 12, our stay was fantastic!!! I loved how we could go to the other parts of grand palladium and have meals and drinks in other restaurants and enjoy the shows they put on as well. The staff was amazing, very attentive and willing to help with any questions we had. Two thumbs up!

The resort was very clean,grounds beautiful with lots of natural wildlife,loved the fresh water pool,naturally sourced from the ocean full of small colourful fish ,great to practice snorkelling.The variety of restaurants was great,but the buffet restaurants food was awesome too.Staff friendly..Tours well organized!No complaints what so ever...Thanks Grand Palladium Resort and Spa.
