HOT SPOT

Hotel and location is excellent. Rooms were functional spectacular views crazy comfy beds. Only down fall NO Mimosa for breakfast:( Service was great! Great food! Drinks...don't remember haha Entertainment staff was fantastic! Beach was beautiful Beach walk to the light house is a must!

Great Place to stay in Cancun!

The Riu Cancun resort is a modern and well maintained property with very good customer service, onsite amenities and fantastic food. The only downside is that the beach area has some larger rocks in the shallow water that you need to navigate to avoid a stubbed toe etc . It really is a beautiful resort and one that I returned to for a second stay... so that says something.

Beautiful hotel best view!

Hotel was excellent, food and service were great, highly recommend this hotel. Very modern and clean. Every room has ocean view. Hotel location is great, which allowed us to take daily walks in the lively city. Great trip!

Gorgeous resort!

Just arrived back from the Rui Cancun. This was my 3rd time there and and my friends first. The hotel is amazing . Beautiful decor throughout. The staff so very friendly. I was quite impressed with Marlene a waitress at the buffet restaurant she actually remembered me from a trip 2 years before and asked how my girls were doing. Megial the pool waiter was so sweet . Views from our room on the 15 floor were breathtaking. We had a great time

We love this resort. Visited for a 2nd time

This resort is very clean. Everyone at the resort works hard to help everyone. Food was good. Grounds very clean. Very nice people, hospitable. The only thing that is lacking is the night shows. They need to improve on this area. We enjoyed the grounds, the pools the beach. Very nice to have view of the sea from every room. We could go back for another holiday.

Lovely experience

I had the best experience. I really appreciate the trio centre agent Karol who recommended me this resort. It was an amazing resort, it had everything what a tourist need in order to enjoy. Beach was awesome, rooms were very clean, amenities were amazing, waiters and ground personnel were very cooperative and had smile on their faces all the time. I recommend all of my friend to must go this resort.

Very good Resort

The resort is right on an excellent beach. The sand is white and clean. The staff is very friendly. We were always greeted with a smile. The pools are clean. Souvenir shopping is right across the street. Only draw back is low water pressure and constantly changing temperature in the shower. It would change from cold to scalding hot.

Superb

The Riu Cancun was fantastic. The staff were so much fun, we didn't leave the resort at all and we were never bored. The food in the buffet was pretty amazing. Great selection (and I'm a picky eater) and always fresh. The a la cartes weren't anything to write home about but they were still good. The evening shows were also really entertaining. Rooms were clean and modern. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Resort

Clean, Food was amazing it caters to everyone. The rooms were clean, the persons at the front desk, pool area, restaurants everyone one amazing. I would definitely recommend this resort to friends and family. I would also come back.

Very Clean, Beautiful Resort

The hotel was much larger than other RIU's I have stayed at However very clean, not a bug in site, hotel staff were always cleaning, touching up paint and maintaining the overall hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and quick to assist with anything needed. The pool bar staff were very friendly and fast at making sure you received your order quickly and made properly. It casts a shadow over the pool and beach making it a tad bit on the cool side with the winds coming in from the ocean. The food was really good, I recommend the Steakhouse if you are going to try anything. You didn't have to make any reservations which was a nice change, it was first come first serve. And there was never an issue getting into one of the restaurants. The beach was very clean, they made sure to remove any seaweed that was dragged in with the waves and Lifeguards were always close-by. There are some vendors who walk up and down the beach strip but aren't pushy like the vendors across the street. We booked excursions through Nexxus, there were some issues with our excursion bookings. We had to cancel our initial trip and book another one through a recommended third party. Which ended up being more money for less. (Which my group was not happy about) The overall experience at that excursion was not very good. The ATVing was really rough. They put two people on a one seater ATV where I was hurt from my behind hitting off the metal rack on the back of the ATV. One of our friends on the excursions seat was loose and they told him to still continue driving. Our ATV also kept dying throughout our drive. We went to speak with our Nexxus representative later and he explained there have been multiple complaints with that third party company and they are looking at dropping them as an option. (which we would have appreciated to know sooner) There is a lot of shopping surrounding the hotel, However be aware there are a lot of vendors who are pushy and they tend to get a bit overwhelming after a while. A three-story super market is conveniently close if you are looking for hotel room snacks. Very good prices and definitely a sight to see. Really beautiful supermarket. If you are the type of person who likes to be in the heart of where you are travelling, not sure this is the place you want to be. It is very americanized. Almost like a vegas strip. High-End stores such as Burberry, Armani, Cartier etc. are close by as well as big clubs and chains of restaurants. The flight staff with Sunwing were very pleasant, no delays, flight was on time and great overall service.

Great Resort :)))

A group of 20 arrived for a wedding. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The pools were awesome, some quiet some not depending on the time of day. Entertainment nightly was good but a lot of Spanish which is ok if you understand it but most of the guests are not. I would've preferred more English but it wouldn't stop me from watching the shows. Close, walking distance to shopping, restaurants and local attractions lots to see and do, Or take a ride on the local buses which can take you anywh [... read more]ere you want to go. The water was amazing and the sandy beaches even better. I have a problem with sand fleas most places and was so happy that there wasn't one to be found trust me I would've found it. There is wifi in the lobby but you are limited to only hooking up 2 devices. Usually that's ok but sometimes more are needed and can't be done there. The staff were friendly and willing to give assistance if needed. It didn't look like they had many kids activities although not exactly sure since we weren't travelling with ours. The food was good they offer a few specialty restaurants that looked good I went to the steakhouse and the Italian and they were good. I would recommend this hotel I would definitely go Back.

Great resort

Very clean resort with amazing staff. Every room has a beautiful ocean view. Pools were great ranging from a waist deep pool bar to 5'5" deep infinity pool looking over the ocean. The buffet was great, everyday lunch seemed to be the same but there was so much to choose from you couldent go wrong.

Nothing to complain about!!

This resort was amazing, it was clean, well staffed and they were all so great and the amenities were all so good as well, they had a show every night that was always entertaining, and the place although busy was not overcrowded which was nice. The pool fun staff were so enthusiastic and all the activities were a lot of fun. The rooms were nice with all rooms having a great ocean view with a private balcony. We tried the Japanese and steak House restaurants. The Japanese was definitely worth it  [... read more]but the steakhouse was a bit long with a group but might be better with a couple. Overall great vacation!!

Excellent resort!

This was our first trip to Mexico and we were thrilled with the resort. Everything met/exceeded expectations. Loved the authentic Mexican feel of the resort and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Great Place to take a vacation

The hotel and grounds were top notch. Everyday the place was cleaned top to bottom. Food was plenty, fresh good and lots of options. Service was excellent from the bar to the dining areas to the maid service.

Fantastic resort

every thing was great the staff was excellent,always smiling happy to help with anything we asked,food and drinks were awesome I've stayed at a few other RIU resorts this one ranks right up at the top of my list!! thanks

Amazing place

beautiful beach, clean rooms and area, very pleasant smiling employees, food excellent with lots of fresh variety, entertainment was good...............wifi was on and off and only on main floor but free when you could get it..........

This hotel is perfect!

We just come back from 7 days allinclusive stay at Riu Cancun (September 2015) and this hotel is perfect :-) Newly renovated, clean and modern with a breathtaking oceanview (on the 8th floor) on the white sandy beaches, four oceanview pools, four restaurant and two buffets, excellent food, drinks, four elevators, nice peoples everywhere, serving drinks on the beach. We will be back, like tomorow :-) One conn yet, but for SUNWING travel not for the hotel, stay away from Cecille, the Sunwing re [... read more]p, if you don't execute exactly what she say she don't like you and will show you that like everyday. Better stay away from Sunwing in general.

This was an Amazing Resort!

The view was so beautiful and the Beach was Awesome. Our room was very clean. The Resort was very clean and the people were fantastic that worked there. Entertainment was wonderful. There was a Michael Jackson tribute and there was an Act that sounded like the Tenors. Almost forgot, the Food was so delicious with so many choices.

Worst experience ever had with hotel and agency

Hotel was overbooked and options provided were not satisfied at all, customer service was worst i have experienced. Never book again and none of my freinds and family will consider booking here again.
