Nice resort

View of pool and beach from room was lovely. Hotel was very clean. Room well equipped. Grounds neat. Service was great in all areas. Food selection for evenings could be improved. Safety issues with wind and pool umbrellas. Umbrellas had to be put down several times thereby eliminating shade opportunity.

Small user friendly resort

Had a nice relaxing time at this resort. It is laid out very well and very easy to get anywhere is a short time. We met lots if nice people to chat with. Dining was very good. We really made use of the coffee shop and snacks! We have been to many adults only resorts in the Mayan and have to say this is our top so far!

Amazing resort!!

Where can I start...perfect size resort, very clean and great staff, food, premises are all amazing! Very close to Playa Del Carmen by taxi...Absolutely loved this resort and will go back a third time!

Exceptional Service

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Riviera Capri Secrets. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though the staff could not do enough for us. Our two concierges were extremely helpful and knowledgeable - explaining some cultures and traditions as well as encouraging us to practice speaking Spanish with them. The food was flavorful and presented beautifully with a wide variety to accompany different tastes. Several places to get a light snack or night cap as well. Beauti [... read more]ful building and grounds with turtles to feed in the foyer fountain. Everything was well maintained but if there was a problem, someone was there to correct it in minutes. Security was present and visible around the resort as well as cctv visible on all buildings and at the beach. Entertainment was varied and the nightly shows were very energetic. I loved the poolside live music in the afternoons! The beach was disappointing only because of the seaweed that has invaded many of the beaches in the Caribbean. The workers were out at the crack of dawn trying to rake and gather as much as possible to clean things up but they fought a losing battle though not for lack of effort. We greatly enjoyed our stay this past week and would not hesitate to recommend Riviera Capri Secrets to family and friends!

Fabulous!

We recently returned from a one week stay at Secrets Capri. Everything about this resort was just wonderful. The resort is a bit smaller but I think that allows the staff to add a personal touch to the guests. The room was large and exactly as shown on the web site. The food was terrific and each restaurant knew when my husband had specific food allergies without us even mentioning it. The beach is nice and we went for long walks to enjoy the weather and view. We spent a lot of time by the p [... read more]ool and were impressed with the daily entertainment. On most days they had something different but it was tasteful and very fitting for the resort and its guests. The evening shows were also really impressive. They hire professional entertainment and most of it was great. We especially liked the Queen tribute and casino night was a blast! The best part of our experience was the staff. They are all outstanding and hard working. We were very impressed by their professionalism and attitude. If you’re looking for a huge party resort, where they blast loud music all day, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a chic, and elegant experience then I highly recommend it. I would certainly return to this resort.

Amazing Resort - we will visit again!!

Secrets Capri was one of the best adult only resorts we have been too. All age groups were represented!! Everything was checked off of our list. The size of the resort was perfect. The food was unbelievable in the restaurants - loved not making reservations. It had beautiful grounds, amazing pools and beaches, staff were so friendly!! The rooms were outstanding and very very clean. The shows and entertainment were plentiful for all ages and just the right length. There was lots to do, if yo [... read more]u wanted to participate. Lots of choice......It will be a place that we will visit again!!

Very pleasant resort

Pros: Very nice hotel. Grounds were well kept. Rooms were adequate although walls are paper thin. Dining was the highlight of this hotel. Food & service were excellent. Staff are very well trained. Enjoyed the hotel's entertainment. Cons: Music around pool and activities was very loud. "All Inclusive" allows for too much alcohol consumption which tended to create a loud and obnoxious environment. Alcohol service should be limited or refused to individuals who are inebriated. There are reaso [... read more]ns that responsible Provinces do not allow service to intoxicated patrons.

Back for the 3rd time!

It's been a while since we've been to the Secrets Capri as prices have been high for a few years. Also our first time travelling to Mexico in December but the price was right! You fly into Cancun (air conditioned airport) which is great and have a 45 minute ride to the resort. The food and entertainment continue to be top notch. Rooms are clean and everyone is very friendly. We had one rain day but that is to be expected anywhere you go. The coffee shop is great and open 24-7 and you can  [... read more]borrow books in a variety of languages. No wrist bands needed and no reservations for restaurants with the exception of the Japanese. Top notch alcohol and the wine (white is great).

Great service

The personalized service at the Secrets Capri was fantastic and the staff was wonderful. The fact that the resort is small allows to get to know the staff and other guest which we really liked. That said the food was « ok » but certainly not the quality and variety I would have expected from a 5 star hotel. Also the continual requests from entertainment staff to post good reviews on trip advisor was very annoying.

Wow. Great resort, great people, great stay for our 30th wedding anniversary!

First, let's start by saying that this is our second smaller resort in the last 6 months( approx. 300 rooms). The attention for the guests here is second to none. clean grounds, great restaurants and the only thing to say for the service is fantastic! Besides the seaweed (and lots of it), the beach itself was great. The pool is in need of some TLC (missing tiles, better filtration system(top water skimmer). The entertainment team was amazing. Bar fridge stocked every day. Turndown service at bed [... read more]time. All I can say is WOW!

A Little disappointing

Over all Secrets Capri is a good resort. We were a little dissipointed with our stay due to several factors. I felt for the most part that we were treated well, but compared to Dreams ( which we stayed at last year) There was a certain level of indifference especially when it came to our room. The pool and beach staff( is that the right term?) are VERY good but our room staff just didn't seem particularly good. This resort is defiantly showing its age, from broken lamps in the room to cracks in e [... read more]very ceiling to the pool that looks....old. That being said the food is good, the entertainment was good , HUGE shout out to Ivana at Casino nite!!!! I cant honestly say I would come back but you never know.....

Good resort with a few glitches

Secrets Capri is a good resort with great service. The room is comfortable if a bit small. The food is great, and the staff really try to please you. Couple of things I found distasteful is that the resort tries to sell you tables around the pool area for dinner in order to watch the show. In an all inclusive resort this shouldn't be happening! Also, the cabanas on the beach and around the pool are not included in the resort. They charge $70 US per day for the use of the cabanas!!!! I giv [... read more]e this resort a 4 star based on this. Had they included the cabanas , I would give it 5 stars.

Great resort

The resort was very nice. The staff and entertainment were amazing. always something to do. Food was ok, always something to eat and appreciated the gluten free options. Resort was very accommodating with a late check out. Suggestion would be that they revamp the spa pricing. $200 USD for a 55 min massage WAY TOO MUCH. Then when we didn't book a massage, they offered a new price of $50 they day before we left. Should have given me that price in the first place, would have gone twice. Overall enj [... read more]oyed this resort and would recommend for relaxation and fun, not for foodies.

FANTASTIC RESORT !!!

This hotel was absolutely fantastic it was my husbands birthday and they made it very special for him. Banner on door, balloons, champaign, cake etc. The food at all restaurants was delicious. Not too fussy on the employees in front lobby offering you breakfast at another resort to check it out. Ends up being a sales pitch for their club memberships! Didn't feel they where up front and tricked you into going to another secrets for their "pitch". Also took almost double the time they told yo [... read more]u. Rooms where very nice and clean, beds super comfortable. Will definately recommend this hotel to anyone. We will also be back.

Simply Beautiful!

Nice resort, nice people, great dining. Definitely would go back! Made life long friends and enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere. Would recommend to someone looking for lots of rest and relaxation in style.

Nice hotel, bad beach

Nice compact hotel. 5 restaurants including a buffet restaurant. The food is good, not exceptional. Very friendly people that are willing to help you. Also very clean in the rooms and the hotel hallways. Twice a week they have the buffet set up around the pool where you can watch the show. Not great that they charge you extra when you like to go to that buffet/show. The beach is very small and narrow. Some rocks in the water but it is also very slippery in the water. Doesn't feel great! The w [... read more]ater isn't clear at all. I have seen much nicer beaches around the Mayan Coast. What I didn't like was when we checked in one of the concierges should give us info about the hotel where to find everything. Junior, the concierge was only busy to tell us that we could get a free ride to the Secrets Maroma on a morning to get a free breakfast and they would like to show the hotel. I knew immediately that it would be time share but he GUARANTEED that is was nothing like that. They won't try to sell you anything he promised. Needles to say he lied. They don't call it time share but membership. They were very very annoying. There were 3 different sales man that tried to get us sign the contract. Prices are ridicules and you still need to pay between $80 and $140 pp per night to get all inclusive. And in the meantime you had paid between $50,000 and $139,00 for the membership, depending on the package you chose. Need to be paid off in 60 months at 16% interest. So that was a waste of our time. At least we got $150 cash coupons we could spend at the Secrets Capri. Overall we enjoyed our time but would I go back? NO!!

A wonderful week away!

Our trip to Secrets Capri was a wonderful experience. We were greeted by very friendly staff and were escorted to our beautiful room. We enjoyed all the restaurants during our stay and particularly liked that no reservations were needed. Our favourite spot was the Cactus Bar (a ceviche and taco bar right on the beach) Although some of the beach had been washed away due to past storms, it didn't impact our trip negatively in the least. A great quaint place to unwind.

Secrets Capri showing its age.

Employees were great. No beach to speak of. Pool tiles were breaking off. people were cutting their feet. Told the manager his answer was I know. All bars close at 11:00 every night. great if you wish to relax bad if you wish to let loose a little. Food was so-so. Oceans restaurant was by far the best. should mention that other guests were saying the food was outstanding so it is a matter of opinion I guess. We found it very salty. Ocean front room on the first floor was good (but we paid [... read more] extra for it so it should be). Resort was very clean.

Spotless, very nice resort

If you're looking for a small resort, this is it. Immaculately kept inside and outdoors. Entertainment throughout the day and evening is the best we've ever encountered over the last 25+ years of travelling. Pool wait staff was superb. Having said that, the bartenders were somewhat aloof and arrogant...4 different bartenders continuing to clean glasses while you stood waiting for service. We were very disappointed in our room. Although spotless, it was very small. We've been to 4 Secrets R [... read more]esorts and I supposed we expected a king bed junior suite and we received double beds in a tiny room facing the jungle. Could not enjoy our balcony due to insects and Coatis on the table and chairs. 11 days without being able to enjoy our balcony or sit on a sofa in our room was extremely disappointing. Pools were nice however the quiet pool was dirty on the bottom and was missing a lot of tiles. The floating pads are great to lie in, however, there is certainly not anywhere near enough of them. Top of the line liquor was enjoyed and the food was good. Buffet food was excellent as was the Portofino. Steaks at the Seaside Grill were good but half the thickness that we are used to at home. For example I ordered a Filet Mignon and it was about a cm thick whereas at home it would have been an inch. It tasted good, but just not what you would expect from a "Grill". The lobby was very nice, a great place to enjoy a drink before and after dinner. Nice entertainment there as well. The weather was absolutely excellent.

Another great vacation at secrets capri

Once again our stay at secrets capri was fantastic. It was our second time in 3 years. Its a small resort witch make it easy to find everything. You get to meet lots of people. We love the adults only. No bracelet. No towel card. You dont have to reserve to go to the restaurants. The food was great. The drinks where excellent. Juan at the pool bar is the best bartender in mexico. The intertainment staff once again didnt disapoint. Hector, Yoshi and Ellizabeth made the activities fun. Very friendl [... read more]y. We had booked a deluxe tropical view room and since it was our seconde time their they upgrade us to a ocean view room. The resort was always clean. We will try to go again in the next few years.
