Punta Cana Princess - Great Resort

Just got back from the Punta Cana Princess, stayed from Dec 4th to the 13th. It’s a great hotel with a family-friendly sister resort attached. The grounds were super easy to walk and the beach was nice with strong drinks. I really loved that the a la carte restaurants like the Rio Grande steak house and the fondue place didn't require reservations... makes things so much easier. You do need to book a day or two ahead with the concierge if you want to eat at the sister hotel, but that wasn't a bi [... read more]g deal. The only real negative was the chairs... always the chairs. People leave their towels to reserve a spot at the pool or beach and never seem to show up. There really should be a policy where towels get removed if the chair isn't used in 30 mins, or hire someone to handle it. also, some of the palapas on the beach were maybe a metre off the ground? You literally had to crawl into them... why? The rest of the trip was awesome though. The service from the SeaPro shop was amazing, especially Edwin and Carla who did a great job organizing my SCUBA tour and keeping me in the loop. The wildlife between the hotels was totally magical... saw turtles, ducks, flamingos, iguanas, and peacocks. oh, and the coffee and ice cream bars at the sister hotel were yummy. Rating: 4.5/5

Relaxing resort

We have been to this resort many times. It is a great place to go to relax and enjoy the beach and pool. The staff are great and there was always a variety of dishes to choose from. A visit to the sister resort is a must for dinner or just to stroll the grounds.

Great for quiet couple getaway

Was our third time to this resort. Great staff, quality food, chill atmosphere. Loved that we had access to the other resorts in the group. Make sure to take the walk on the paths between resorts to see all the ducks, geese and iguanas hanging out. Great spot.

Great stay at Princess!

My stay at the resort was enjoyable. The hotel itself is great. It is on a smaller side, very cozy with beautiful and well-maintained grounds. The resort is situated close to a stunning beach. One downside was a lack of lounges at both the beach and the pool, especially in the late morning, which meant having to wake up early to secure one. Rooms could also use a refresh, and the plumbing could benefit from an update. The food was delicious and plentiful, making it easy to find a favourite di [... read more]sh. The staff was nice and polite (not many could communicate in English and nonverbal communication helped :), contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. A highlight of my stay was the entertainment team, who worked tirelessly day and night, keeping all guests engaged and entertained. As someone who loves to dance, I particularly enjoyed dance parties, and I want to give a special thank you to Hansel, Roberby, Hendry, Valeria et al. for being fantastic dance partners. The silent party was a blast! Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely consider returning and recommending this hotel to other planning to visit Punta Cana.

Worst Resort We Have Ever Stayed At

The grounds are clean and well maintained. The in-room service staff and restaurant staff were pleasant and efficient. It rained frequently and suddenly and the multiple entrances into the continuous corridors between the blocks of units was helpful. The beach was beautiful despite always being windy, however the frequent vendors were annoying. Therefore we went to the pool early morning to reserve 2 chairs in the shade. That is the only good thing we can say about our 14 day stay. The room w [... read more]e were assigned is badly in need of maintenance and upgrades. The sliding patio door wouldn't lock. The door on the cabinet for the bar fridge was falling off and only held on with duct tape. You couldn't plug in the coffee maker or you would trip the electrical circuit breaker for the room. The pipes in the ceiling leaked one evening. The bath tub wouldn't drain unless you unscrewed the drain plug. The bathroom sink was badly cracked and the lighting in the bathroom was very poor. There was no nightlight in the bathroom nor a door so when frequenting the bathroom at night, one had to turn on the ceiling light which disturbed the whole room. It was far, far from the 4+ star rating advertised. The music by the animation team at the pool was so loud at 3:00 pm that it chased us away daily (when we were healthy enough to be there). Of the four advertised specialty restaurants, only two were open on any given night but this wasn't made publicly known anywhere. Despite the fact that the resort advertised that no reservations were required for the restaurants (you couldn't make reservations in any event) you had to line up starting at 6:00 pm and, unless close enough to the entrance to getting a 'first sitting' seat in the restaurant, you had to make a seating request for 8:30 pm and come back then. The food was mediocre at best and food handling was very questionable at some locations. We did on occasion make dinner reservations at their sister resort - The Carribe. Too often, meats were undercooked and raw food waiting to be cooked may not have been properly chilled. Shortly after dinner at Swiss Fondue our third night, my wife had severe diarrhea, then started vomiting followed by spending the next two days in bed with fever and chills. I was fortunate to suffer only mild diarhea for a couple of hours. Early in our second week at the resort, my wife had severe diarrhea a couple of hours after eating dinner in one of the other restaurants and spent another two days in bed with exhaustion. Again I was fortunate to only suffer mild diarhea for a couple of hours. Then the last couple of days of our stay, I came down with severe chills and high fever which lasted until we returned home. I went to our local hospital's emergency department the morning after our return and was diagnosed with a salmonella infection of the blood stream for which I was hospitalized for 5 days and treated with intravenous antibiotics for 14 days. My wife's diarrhea returned 3 days after we got home and she was diagnosed with a parasite infection for which she is still receiving treatment. We have been to many all-inclusive resorts, but this was by far the worst two week all-inclusive vacation we have ever been on and one we wouldn't wish on anyone.

Punta Cana Princess is showing her age

Sorry Punta Cana Princess (PCP), but you have dropped the ball. The renovations done over the Covid shut down no where near justifies the significant increase in what you are charging now. If you don't upgrade to their VIP, you will be disappointed. And even if you do upgrade, it is NOT worth the extra $$$. I am currently in the market for another adults only resort.

Beautiful Resort

This hotel is well kept! Very clean, nice restaurants, very friendly and curtious staff! It was not packed, which we loved. We also liked the location because we were set back away from the town in our own little paradise. We will definitely be back!

If you are looking for a relaxing, sun soaking, entertaining, beach walking holiday enjoying genuine hospitality THIS IS THE SPOT FOR YOU! Even before we left, my emails to the resort were answered right away, thank you to Carlo Del Risco (front desk Mgr) and Alexander Gomez (Guest Service Manager), you both made our experience special even before we arrived! This resort is clean, intimate, quiet with latin music always in the background, on the beach, with beautiful grounds. Most importantly the hosts and I say hosts because these wonderful people made our holiday.....Nelson "My Family", Iris, Vicki, Felix x2, Jaun, Ordalina, Grey xo and Luis to name a few. We believe a review should be about the vacation experience, not what temp the AC got to, or how strong the Wifi is, and our experience was a 10! Amazing Resort

The hotel was lovely and very clean.Grounds were well maintained as was the very inviting pool. Had shaded areas for lounging on the beautiful beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There were several restaurants to choose from and the food was exceptional!

Nice hotel

Very nice hotel, well kept. The staff was very friendly. Not much to do there. They have a large pool and a beautiful beach. Many bars and a variety of restaurants. Make sure you brush your teeth with bottled water. Beware of the foods you eat....we were deathly sick( from the salad) washed in bad water!!

Resort was immaculately maintained

The staff NEED to be better at basic English as service persons, some were quite intolerant of non-Spanish speaking guests, perceived a difference in the way CAUCASIAN and others were served/interactions Your menu items needs some serious improvements!!! Information sharing as to daily events, restaurants offerings has to be worked on

Good value adults only resort.

Just returned from our third visit. Excellent value and excellent service. If you are looking for a resort that caters to an older clientele then this should fit the bill. That being said entertainment was available at the pool and lobby daily. The specialty restaurants and the buffet were all good, not quite 5 star but a good experience. The first week the hotel was full and we had to get down to the pool and beach by 6.00 to get a covered chair which is an absolute must in that heat. During  [... read more]the second week there was still availability at 7.30, getting later in the year I guess. A big issue is people putting towels on seats around the pool and on the beach, very inconsiderate !! There is space to add more umbrellas around the pool area which the resort should consider. WIFI signal is very weak and inconsistent other than the lobby. The staff are engaging, always ready to help and will bend over backwards to ensure that your stay is the best it can be, service is everything and they were the best. If you have any problems ask for Alexander and he will address them immediately, he is there morning noon and night. We had a very good time and will return.

Best beach on the Bavaro strip

Clean, well maintained property, friendly staff, good food, very good drinks served by Jose and Glenys at the beach bar. Ingrid was a very good server at Mare Nostrum. We did not partake in the varied activities offered as we wanted to relax and enjoy the beautiful beach. One negative is that it took 1 hour to get there from the airport and it's advertised as 25 minutes away.

Pleasantly surprised with this Gem of a resort.

Punta Cana Princess resort was extremely clean and the grounds were very well kept. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent. This resort was just a perfect size, and adults only, which made it that much more enjoyable and relaxing. Our friends had a few minor issues with the patio door and sink plumbing in their room, but they were quickly taken care of by the maintenance personnel.

Paradise!

Everything was topknotch! Loved the room, the food, the beach! This is a smaller resort so it wasn't a long walk anywhere. There were always plenty of spots on the beach. The restaurants were amazing and the buffet had so many options and was delicious. Outside of my room was a conversation set I would read at each afternoon, it was lovely. The mornings on the beach were breathtaking and there was stretching on the beach and aquafit in the pool everyday. Loved our stay!

February 21- 28, 2023 This was our second time staying at this resort. Loved it the first time and loved it again. The beaches and grounds are beautiful! The staff was wonderful and the food was good. Loved that we didn't have to sign up for dinner at the restaurants. My favorite part is going to the beach bar at night. Such an amazing atmosphere. Lovely resort

Loved the bright colours of the resort and the beautiful grounds with lots of palm trees. Pool had lots of seating so there was no pressure to get up early to reserve a spot. Beach was amazing: clean and had tiki huts for shade and shelter. Food was delicious, with 4 a La carts and a buffet. Rooms were okay, bed was very stiff. Spanish is primary language, and English was rough/minimal with some of the staff. The resort could use some overall maintenance: chunks out of countertops, some cracked tiles, painting touch ups. But I understand if funds from Covid are catching up for these repairs.

Amazing resort

bedroom.is quite clean and all services are very good. I like the spa. food are okay. the beach have too many sea grass （maybe due to the season). pool is good. I would like to recommend my friends to this resort.

Decent resort

Small adult only resort. Staff are awesome. Food is great at buffet and alacartes. Nelson is fantastic personable swimup bartender who I can’t say enough positive things about. Other notable staff include Felix, Israel, Juana Iris, Christobalina, Ordalaina, Carlos among others who all took great care of us. Rooms are dated. We were given a room with a toilet that had to be plunged constantly from the start. Tried to get it fixed since it was a great location but asked for transfer to diffe [... read more]rent room which they did. Pool was disappointing because of algae present at walk in ramp. They were working on the pool before we left. It was refreshing however and we did use it. Bathroom is tight even for average size people. Staff really make this place work

Wonderful resort!

The resort is low key, adults only with fabulous staff. If you are looking for a quiet, small resort, this would be your choice. It is a true 4+ star with a beautiful beach and large pool. We are repeat guests X12 and will be returning again next year.
