Beautiful Resort

The Riu Palace Los Cabos is a great resort! We were greeted from the moment we arrived by our Sunwing Rep. when we arrived at the hotel we received a refreshment and felt very welcomed by everyone we interacted with. The people working at the resort were friendly and very accommodating! The weather was perfect! The company was great and the drinks were cold and the food was fabulous! Amazing Resort

Review of Riu The Riu Palace facilities and property were all clean and beautifully kept on a beautiful ocean front property. The staff were always smiling and friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing and plentiful. The pools were beautifully kept and the staff engaged the guests in games, fun and activities by the pool side. Overall it was a great way to spend a relaxing vacation by the ocean.

Fantastic resort 2nd stay there

We cannot say enough about how clean the resort is. The staff are all very friendly helpful and seem to be smiling all the time. Our daily room staff, Sarah, was beyond lovely. As was Oscar at Mar de Cortez restaurant. There is a lack of evening events at the hotel, they are all now at the sister hotel next door, catering to a party crowd, it was disappointing not to have any events right on site if you weren't up to a rave. I look forward to seeing how this huge hotel chain follows up on their promise to look after the feral kittens now on site. They were not there 1 1/2 years ago. Spay/neuter/vaccinate and then adopt is what was discussed when I stayed and loudly broached my concerns for their well being. The views are breathtaking, the scenery, lands end, and of course the sunrises and sunsets have to be seen to be truly believed. There was always a variety of fresh food to choose from even for a vegetarian! The room service menu however could use a revamping. There is now a huge Walmart and Costco across the highway as well as the beautiful town of Los Cabos itself. For anything you may need. (Beware the taxis) We walked to Los Cabos marina and town along the beach which was really enjoyable and the entire stretch of Beach was very clean and safe. Overall the hotel does an excellent job of helping us feel relaxed, taken care of and on vacation. That's what it's all about after all. I would 100% go back but only if there was some entertainment on site without having to go to the party hotel. It was not well advertised that events were next door

Absolutely Wonderful Resort!

The food was amazing, service was excellent, the resort was very clean and the staff were constantly keeping it clean. Bar service was great and the selection of beverages was extraordinary. The beach was great to walk on, but due to the waves/surf, you could not swim. Scuba Caribe day trip to the Cabo Arch and Lover's Beach was excellent and very affordable. Overall, 10/10!

Close to Perfect

Riu Palace is immaculately clean. The staff take pride in their Jobs in all departments. Always smiling. Was also here in October 2022 & it WAS Perfect. They have moved most evening events next door to the Santa Fe. Way younger crowd & "dancing" sure isn't what it used to be. All food is phenomenal & choices galore! Totally go back again & again. Very nice resort

Very nice hotel, the food was good, the buffet had a great selection, the pool area had plenty of lounge chairs and the staff came around regularly to offer fresh towels in exchange for your wet ones. There is a mirror image of the pool area, one side had all the activities and the other side was calmer. Even though the ocean was rough, you could walk along the beach which can actually bring you right into town. Awesome service!

From the get go top notch service at breakfast,lunch or dinner. Wait staff was phenomenal. Facility was impeccably clean and our room had a spectacular view. Highly recommend! Food at buffet and a la carte was very good to excellent. We will use the Riu brand again.

Great resort!

The hotel was very accommodating and had a lovely view. We had a problem mid week with our room and they found us a new room and gave us some extras for our trouble. The view from the hotel is amazing. The food was above average for resort food but still not the best. Our kids aged 5 and 7 loved the kids club and water park next door at the Santa Fe (don’t book the Santa Fe with kids as it’s a party resort).

Amazing resort

Just arrived back from a family vacation at this resort. Excellent service,food and resort. The only downside was the children’s club which had little to no activities. The lady in charge did not have any type of children skills or adult for that matter. Was not interested in engaging my 3yr old grandchild and I had to ask her for colouring paper as he sat with colouring pencils only . The time schedule on the door stated they were to close one hour later. Honestly nothing much to entertain him there anyway! Overall we had an amazing time. Staff could not be nicer. Oh and if booking a Nexus tour, be sure to take a photo of yourself time stamped when waiting for the bus to arrive. We waited from 1.15pm to 2.30pm for our bus tour (scheduled for 1.30pm pick up) and seemingly the bus arrived but left without us. We did not see this bus arrive nor did anyone look for us. Nexus would not refund our money as our word that we were there waiting did not count. They offered to pick us up the next day but we could not go then. Very frustrating and we lost our money.

Beautiful resort

Our first stay at the RIU Palace, Cabo San Lucas and would not hesitate to return. The resort is older and starting to show signs of aging, particularly in the pool areas. But overall the resort is very clean and extremely well maintained. The staff were always friendly and interested in providing top level service. We had a junior suite with partial ocean view overlooking one of the pool areas and the sea of Cortez, excellent view. The bed was a little firm but we still had good sleep. Food at the resort was plentiful but mediocre at best. I compare the food service to that we experienced on cruises and it doesn’t meet that standard. After seven days we decided that the large buffet restaurant had the best food offerings and it was generally good. The specialty restaurants were disappointing, they tried but missed the mark in most instances. The Italian restaurant was a great place for lunch, not as busy as the buffet and provided made to order pasta along with a nice salad bar and other food choices. Another miss is with the wine on offer. Being a Spanish resort chain I was expecting some decent wine. Not the case by far. I have purchased wine for $5 a bottle that was way better than what was available. RIU needs to up their game in this area. Entertainment and activities were very good, the entertainment/activity staff were fantastic. Bars were open and relaxing, extensive drink menus. Lots of seating around the pools. The beach is beautiful but caution is advised because of undertow.

Fantastic Stay......Great Resort

The Hotel is definitely 5 star. The staff is very helpful and their service is great. I would highly recommend the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas to anyone and everyone......!! Close proximity to town if you want to shop. Lots of activities in the resort and surrounding areas.

5 stars all around. Comfy beds, no issues with AC, beautiful location, amazing staff, awesome food, warm pool and cold drinks. No issues other than the plug beside our bed wasn’t working properly. Highly recommend.

Top Resort

This is one of the best resorts we have been to for sure . The constant cleaning and sweeping keeps the grounds exceptionally clean. The food was top notch , the buffet was simply excellent, wide variety of meats , Fish, tons of fruits salads and veggies , and local food as well. The Infinity Pools were relaxing , and fun as well as the water workouts were “just enough” on vacation. Due to the size it’s lots of walking and stairs . It’s not a swim in the Ocean vacation at its “must obs [... read more]erve “ red flag due to strong currents situation. Only expert swimmers dared to enter water when we were there in April.

Fabulous Resort

My husband and I spent two lovely weeks enjoying this resort. It was very clean and nicely decorated. Staff were continuously cleaning and grooming the resort area. Workers in all areas were helpful, friendly and very diligent with their job. Large pool areas to choose from with plenty of chairs always available. The buffets were extensive and always tasty. We never encountered any waiting lines except for the evening meal in the specialty restaurants. Have to go early (or later in the  [... read more]evening) if you decide on one of the special restaurants. We tried four and all were very good. We also enjoyed going to the large bar off the reception area which has beautiful views of the ocean. Only downfall would be for anyone wanting to swim in the ocean. There is a beautiful, well maintained beach but the water is very rough. Transfers between the airport and resort were well organized by the helpful Sunwing staff. Sunwing personnel also helped us book our two cities tour which was quite informative and well organized. We did have issues particularly during the afternoon and early evenings with very poor Wi-Fi. For two weeks, we watched the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets and lots of boats, cruise ships and various water sports taking place right off our wonderful balcony.

Expectations exceeded!

Huge hotel, two very large pools and lots of seating areas. Service was excellent during our entire stay! Not a single complaint. Food at the buffets had a lot of variety, plenty to choose from, even for the pickiest of eaters! Tried 2 à la cartes and they were both great! Rooms were just as expected, clean, spacious, and large bathroom and stocked bar and fridge. Everything we could have wanted. Access to the neighbouring resorts was easy, kids enjoyed the water slides at the Santa Fe, just a  [... read more]short walk. Taco stand at the pool was delicious for lunch or snacks. Cafe/Bar closest to the lobby offered great views and excellent coffee and drinks.

A Little Bit of a Tired Resort but Super Friendly Staff

We were a family of 6 adults, 4 hadn't been to Riu Palace before but my husband and I have visited the resort a couple times, this being our 4th visit. Unfortunately, our previous visits were not acknowledged upon arrival. The resort is nice and has amazing views, probably one of the prettiest resorts we have ever visited. However, the rooms are a little tired, our pillows were at least 5 years old (lumpy and hard), the sinks in our bathroom were both cracked, the sofas were a bit worn, etc.  [... read more] Luckily we weren't in our rooms much and the pools and surrounding areas are beautiful. This resort is not good if you have mobility issues since you need to walk a lot and there's lots of stairs, even just to get to the bathroom from one of the restaurants one needs to go down a hall and down a set of stairs. The restaurants don't need to be booked in advance, but be sure to check in about 45 min's before you want to eat to see how backed up they are. They will give you a buzzer to call you back when ready. The restaurants could use an upgrade in menus and food quality. The buffet is super and has a ton of choices for all meals. One thing this hotel has going for it is its wonderful staff. They are very friendly and willing to go above and beyond.

Beautiful resort

Large resort with two huge pools and two bar pools. Nightly entertainment was great. Beautiful flowers surrounded the pools. Food was delicious. All staff were friendly. Only problem is rooms are not very soundproof. Room beside us was noisy and partying at night until 4 am. Great views of lands end and cruise ships.

Truly a star resort!

This resort was so clean! The room was very well stocked, no request was to small The staff were friendly, polite and remembered us from one day to the next as we walked by. The food, oh so amazing. I was very pleased to see so many vegetarian options. The pools were clean and 2 were reserved for adults only. The beach area was also kept clean and you could walk for quite a way in the beautiful sand. The activities that were organized where a lot of fun and engaged everyone. The only Co [... read more]vid related restrictions that I was aware of, was that the disco was closed, but also renovations going on at the next hotel. The view each morning of the sunrise from our balcony was magic. And we could see the Arc from everywhere. Only complaint is that the 'kids entertainment' was in the same location as the adults show. So this meant waiting until much later to have the show start if you didn't bring kids along. I think the 'kids' show should be relocated saving the huge stage and bar aea for the adults. The room service menu really needs some additions to it. Just my opinion. Overall 5 stars, well worth the trip. We will be going back.

Great times at the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas

We enjoyed 2 weeks at the Riu Palace. The people working there were always cleaning, working, and taking care of the hotel and the grounds and it showed. The hotel was excellently taken care of. The two large pools provided quiet times in one and activity in the other, we preferred the quiet side. Our pool waiter Berezain was excellent giving us drinks and talking with us making us feel like at home. The main buffet restaurant was large and had a great variety of food for breakfast and supper [... read more]. Our favourite waiters Allix and Meno gave excellent service. The alacarts were good and our favourite was El Medano, our steaks were tender and tasty. The rooms are well kept and maids gave us great service with towel friends left for us to enjoy. Any issues with the room was taken care of quickly. Overall the resort is huge and busy but we were still able to find a lounger at 11 am. The iced coffees at capuchino were great at the end of our day. We give the hotel 5 stars!
