Amazing resort

The resort is huge as it combined 5 resorts together and can share all the facilities. Scuba dive center is amazing! All staffs are friendly! The pool and beach are beautiful! Only issue of the resort was there were lots of bugs or fleas or bed bugs and all of us got lots of bites. But Overall was a great resort!

Pure Pradise!

We feel we were picked up and placed in Paradise! We stayed at Paradiso Maya with access to the other 3 resorts. Besides some restaurants, our two boys were happy to stay at the Maya - there was so much to do there. All the staff are terrific no question. The bartenders at the main bar in the Maya are a hoot!! The place is spotless the food wonderful. Bland never came to mind with the food. We would definitely recommend the place and would return in the future.

Not too happy

Worse resort ever. They refuse to serve me drinks because I didn’t tip the bartenders. My room didn’t got cleaned properly. After i left tip was all cleaned. Third night no tip my room was not cleaned again. I ordered deinks while waching a show and we never got the drinks. Second night i tip the servent and the drinks amazingly showed up in couple minutes. They should be ashamed to ask $6000 for 7 days. That resort deserves under $3000 for 7days. Never will go there again.

Best Resort so Far

We have been to at least a dozen resorts. This was our best so Far! The grounds at the Maya Resort are beautiful. It is a big resort without feeling crowded. The whole resort is clean and welcoming. Check in was quick. Lots of great fresh food. All the staff were polite and went over and beyond to please your needs. When we called the front desk for any request, we were dealt with immediately. Iberostar Paraiso Maya

A very beautiful, spacious resort shared with 3 other sister hotels. The grounds are lush green and well taken cared by the staff, so many pools to be enjoyed by all ages including a wave pool for the kids.Our bedroom was amazing, the sheer size and we had a shower and tub in our bathroom. The little fridge was restocked daily with bottled water, pop and beer. There is 6 hotel blocks with rooms and each block had its own concierge desk to help visitors with issues. Paraiso Maya is perfect for us!

Just returned from our 48th visit. Yes, 48 times. Not a typo. It has everything we want. Not too far from the airport, a very long beach for walking, warm temperatures even during a polar vortex, exceptionally friendly staff, great food, very nice & clean rooms, golf, a new gym with very nice equipment & knowledgeable trainers, a variety of TV choices, free WIFI and always plenty of other nice people to spend time with, many of whom have also been there lots of times before. Great wedding and honeymoon!

We booked at Paraiso Maya for two weeks - first week for our wedding, along with 15 other family and friends, then the second week for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt like VIP’s! The best part is, we are fairly certain that they treat all of their guests this way. In case you have not read this in any other reviews, the resort is HUGE. I mean massive. We spent two weeks discovering new parts of the resorts, new restaurants, new pools, even new anima [... read more]ls. My husband and I clocked in 30,000 steps each one day (that’s equivalent of a half marathon). We enjoyed the walking, but if the size of the resort intimidates you, not to worry - they have golf carts that’ll take you anywhere you want whenever. Some fun places to go include the resort mall, which contains many shops, taco eatery, burger place, crepe store, candy store, disco, and the spa. The beach is beautiful - constantly being maintained, constantly being raked of the seaweed, dedicated staff who spend the entire day cleaning the mess left by guests, brushing off chairs, putting everything in the right spots. Waters in Cancun/Mayan Riviera vary - we saw it go from extremely rough waves to calm sheet of glass from day to day. Lifeguards are on site and keeping swimmers in the safe zone/keeping their eye on everything. The beach has several dedicated food bars spread along a boardwalk for the different resorts. By far the best snack bar I have ever had at a resort. Cheeseburgers, fish burgers, chicken burgers, fries, salads and fruits in to go containers, sandwiches, nachos, and soft serve ice cream. Always fresh and always there. The quality was so excellent that I couldn’t help having fries every day (I normally never eat fries). The walk from the pool to the beach takes about a minute through a “jungle”. You walk on very wide wooden bridges or boardwalks that take you to the main boardwalk along the beach. Below the bridges live the many, many coaties of the resorts. Super cute but apparently can become aggressive when food is involved. Don’t feed them (even though guests do - they look SO cute you really can’t help it). The resort rooms are beautiful. Very well kept, and clean. Two massive closets, a huge bathroom with jacuzzi and stand up shower, a sitting area, and wrap around balcony. Our view when we left our room was the pool, and from our balcony the “jungle” full of exotic birds and Coaties (they look like overgrown squirrels mixed with racoons). Speaking of animals, the resort has no shortage of animals roaming freely. Peacocks, swans, flamingos, coaties, even squirrels!). The grounds are extremely well manicured. They have no shortage of staff constantly cleaning, maintaining, and repairing. This is impressive considering the massive size of the resort. Over two weeks, we saw many changes in weather including severe rain, winds, to general sunny skies. They had staff taking care of it all - whether it was mopping the excess water, or sweeping away the blown down leaves - the entire resort was always being maintained. The staff are probably the friendliest group of people I have ever met in my entire life. Every single person working greets you with a smile and hello. It was impressive because over two weeks, it remained consistent and very genuine! Our room housekeeper, Minerva, was friendly, creative with the towels, and discreet with the cleaning - in two weeks we only ran into her once cleaning our room when returning from breakfast! She, and her night turndown staff Lucia, made sure to make our stay extra special with rose pedals, kind notes, chocolates, and snacks. My husband and I went to the gym at the resort several times, and even attended a Zumba class, dance class and water aerobics. The gym is by far the nicest hotel/resort gym I have ever been to. It has two levels - first level with machines, treadmills, weights, and a stretch area, and second level has three studios reserved for group classes. Tennis courts for tennis players, a shooting range, bikes for cyclists, as well as a designated jogging route for runners. Water aerobics had low attendance, but Zumba was really fun and always drew a crowd. Another impressive detail from the resorts overall is their environmental awareness. Double flush toilets, recycle/compost/paper/trash deposits, absolutely no straws, no plastic cups near the ocean to name a few. As I mentioned earlier, everyone is treated like VIP, no matter who you are. They constantly had servers asking for drink orders, in the restaurants they would replenish your drinks even before you ordered a second one, and if you even had any simple request, they would make whatever you needed happen. The food was by far the best I have had at any resort - variety, quantity and quality. I like my eggs poached, but usually they are overdone at resorts. The poached egg tray had perfectly poached eggs just ready for you to eat every morning! There was a designated kitchen staff cutting smoked salmon and tuna, always fresh fruit, always a variety to pick from. Chefs and kitchen staff constantly walking around the buffet making sure presentation, quantity and cleanliness were maintained. We tried several different buffets and restaurants, and it was consistently that way. Most of the a la carte restaurants require for you to use a buffet for appetizers wit the exception of the french restaurant and Japanese restaurant (El Museo and La Geisha). The restaurant managers always greeted us with a big smile and hello (Adrian and Oscar). You can actually book reservations using their Iberostar App, which is REALLY cool and convenient. theres also a schedule of all resort activities going on that day/week that you can sync with your calendar too. If you ever considered doing a destination wedding, do one. It was GREAT. Low stress, low maintenance, tons of fun. Carmen, our wedding coordinator, took care of everything. We took the very basic wedding package, but had the chance to watch several weddings over the course of two weeks. They really know what they are doing and it was done really well. The wedding photographer, Victor from Adventure Photos, was absolutely incredible. The photos were ready in less than a week, as was the photo albums. We got to leave the resort with everything! What incredible service. If you want to take your kids to a great resort, I highly recommend this one. You can also re-assure them that the WIFI works GREAT and from literally everywhere on the resort. Tons of organized and not organized things for kids of all ages to do. As we were leaving they were adding the final touches to their newest complex, Star Camp, which is the kids programming dedicated for children of all ages. I would love it if our kids would be a part of it but they are 12 and 15, and are “too cool” for that. My recommendation would be to have a dedicated star camp greeter at reception that can whisk the kids away immediately at that age so that they don’t feel like they have to make the first step and sign up. Shows were fun and well attended. Because there are several resorts, there are also several theatres and shows. If you miss one show one night, you can always attend it the following night! The lazy river was used several times by our entire group. Really fun and relaxing. A great addition to the resort experience for sure! Our second week we spent a majority of it diving. Varna, who greeted us at the counter of the dive shop, was awesome and extremely informative. We dove with Iago, Paul and Olaf, all amazing guides and made our trip extra special. One tip to keep in mind is that they do not have a jetty or dock, therefore expect to walk into the water with your gear on to get to the boat. Your boat will most likely be delayed as we had to wait for the bus from Cancun to arrive with divers too. If you leave your equipment at the shop, make sure that it is in containers or cases - my husband’s new mask was smashed after the first day. However, the staff acknowledged their mistake and gave him a free dive.

Fun family trip

We had a wonderful stay at Iberostar Paraiso Maya in Mexico. The beach was pretty nice considering there was seaweed due to high winds. The resort did a pretty good job of cleaning the beach on a daily basis. There are lots of pools to swim and they have very good amenities for kids; a dedicated kids club with supervised staff, a pirate ship a wave pool and a lazy river. The Japanese and the statehouse were the best restaurants. We did not like the food at the Jambalaya. Overall great hotel, nice and accommodating staff and very good for kids.

Good Family Resort

Overall a nice resort, but there were a few issues. Rooms: no slippers or robes, air conditioner needed repair, some in our party did not get turn down service Food: buffet food was ok, but not great; food at the Mexican restaurant was terrible; the gourmet restaurant was nice Beach: beach area was nice in front of the property, but completely neglected off the property; one section of the beach seemed to be a dump for excess sand, seaweed, and other debris. Wonderful Resort!

This was a girl's trip for my friend and I and we were treated so well from the moment that we arrived until the time we left. Everyone we met was so friendly. You can tell that the guests are treated very well as there is a happy vibe throughout the resort. We loved the pool. It was enormous with different areas depending on what you were wanting to do. We did see some seaweed but there was still plenty of areas to swim where the sand was lovely. We loved the fact that you could book an a la carte every night. We booked a few right away when we checked in and then easily booked the rest through the app. All of the a la cartes were excellent but we especially enjoyed the Cajun and the Japanese. The service was excellent in all of them also. The breakfast buffet near the main lobby was amazing. The staff there took the time to learn your name and how you took your coffee. We also loved the shopping center with the casino, shops and disco. We had lunch and ice cream there one day. So nice that this was all included also. Most days we had lunch at the snack bar on the beach. Great food there too. The room was extremely spacious. This was the reason we chose the Maya over the Lindo and we were very happy that we did. There is a small corridor when you come in where the closets, fridge, safe and bathroom are. There is another door that you can close if someone is an early riser. There was also an additional sitting room and then the balcony that was very large too. It even had a hammock. The room cleaning was always done by the time we returned and they did a great job. No matter what time we went out for dinner, early or late, we always received turn down service with extra water, cute towel and face cloth shapes and rose petals. The WiFi worked very well everywhere on the property and was included in the price. The main lobby bar (Snake Bar) was always fun and the drinks were well made there. The bartenders would often go elsewhere if they needed to get you something they did not have. Great drinks everywhere else also. The resort is very large, however it does not take very long to figure out the short cuts. You can also call for the golf carts or flag them as they drive by. We did not need them too much except when we went to the Lindo for dinner at the Cajun restaurant. We did not go to the entertainment in the evening because we tended to eat later and ended up going to the lobby for drinks after dinner. The resort was also a short 30 - 35 min ride from the airport. I have been to many all inclusive resorts but had not visited an Iberostar before. I really cannot think of anything that we did not enjoy about our stay and will definitely be back.

Nice Resort

Room were very nice, spacious and kept very clean. Pool was great and grounds were extensive and a great variety with access to the four properties. Loved the black swans and flamingos. Beach was clean.

Amazing resort

Exemplary! Very impressed with everything and everyone. This place was very clean, staff was very polite, approachable and accomodating. We enjoyed the great pools and beach facilities. There was a great selection with the meals. Housekeeping, Diana and concierge service was excellent (Mario) and Pech. We are hoping to be back again.

Fantastic Vacation

Hotel was fantastic! Front Lobby was impressive and check-in was fast allowing for almost a full first day to get to know the resort. Lobby bar was a great meeting place before activities and the bartenders always cheerful and helpful. Coffee martini's were fantastic. Our room was quite spacious and clean. Housekeeping was very good. The bathroom was beautiful stone/marble with double sinks. Food was very good. Mexican restaurant was delicious. Service at each a la carte was very good.  [... read more] Pools were gorgeous and very clean and very maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the resort. Golf course was very scenic and very well maintained. Staff cleaned our clubs better than they've been since new. The drink cart came around at just the right time. Wi-Fi was fast and everywhere you wanted it to be.

Awesome Resort

The resort in general is in immaculate condition, from the rooms, the always clean and manicured grounds and surroundings to the very entertaining shows and other resort services. The golf course is championship caliber. But most of all it is the service of the people that works on the frontline that made me fall in love with the place. They make you feel important and like royalty .

We LOVE Iberostar Paraiso Maya !!!

My wife and I have just returned from our 42nd trip to this Resort. We used to travel around trying different places but this one has everything we truly enjoy. First of all, it is not too far from the airport and cool, comfortable minivans are used as shuttles instead of large, smelly buses. I'm sure nobody enjoys riding a bus immediately after a 4 hour flight. *For your peace of mind, the Resort is secure and gated and security personnel regularly patrol the entire compound morning, noon and  [... read more]night. Our arrival and check-in always goes smoothly. The bellboys take the bags from the minivan and place them under watchful eyes while guests proceed to the front desk. As there are never more than 2 or 3 couples checking-in, the process happens quickly without waiting or lineups. New identification wristbands are made from a very comfortable cloth instead of that old-style sticky plastic. Once a room number is assigned (the rooms are always ready), that number is given to the bellboys and you are taken by them in golf carts to your room. The property is "manicured" daily by an army of groundskeepers. In other words, the Resort is clean and beautiful. No matter how many times we visit, we always notice something new and interesting. If you ever grow tired of sitting on the beach or at the pool, you will be fascinated by a walk around the grounds. Of course the rooms are also cool, clean and very comfortable. However, if you do find something that is not to your liking, for example a wobbly toilet seat, just let your Concierge know and the concern will be addressed and/or fixed right away. Each building has it's own Concierge who will be happy to help you with ANYTHING at all. This brings us to the Resort staff. From the management to the janitors, to say they are pleasant, polite and extremely concerned with your every comfort would be an understatement. Take some time to meet them. What an incredible group of people! Would you like dinner reservations at a particular restaurant? Done! Did you forget something at home? Let them surprise you with a new one by delivering it, free of charge, to your room. Would you like to learn some Spanish? Ask anyone! Is there a particular brand of alcohol which you prefer but is not stocked on the premises? Don’t be shocked if they send somebody to the liquor store for you! These people are unbelievable! They do everything they can to EXCEED your expectations. One thing which we most enjoy is meeting and getting to know the employees. One thing we least enjoy is finding out, upon a return trip, that one of our many friends is not there anymore because they have moved on to new employment. It is sad but there are always new people to meet. Believe me, the Resort would not be the same without these GREAT people. The food is fantastic. In fact, the food in the buffets is so good and daily so diverse, that there really is no need for the specialty restaurants located around the Resort. Iberostar Paraiso Maya has it’s own golf course. A beautiful layout which is also maintained to perfection. In fact, Big Break Mexico was filmed there a few years ago and I was thrilled to watch the World Team Golf Championships which were held there. Green fees for guests are just $59 and that includes the cart. One really nice feature is that the “all-inclusive” aspect of the Hotel extends to the on-course beverage cart! *My only words of caution will be advise you all to avoid spring break. Anywhere! Teenagers are (and YES, I used to be one) insane, loud and inconsiderate. Finally, and also for your peace of mind, please be confident that the water served in restaurants and buffets IS bottled and clean. Drink all you want without fear of Montezuma’s Revenge. Just don’t do anything stupid, like trying to impress your friends by power-drinking in the hot sun, and I promise you will have a fabulous vacation.

Worth every penny!! Highly recommend!!

Beautiful resort!! Once you enter the resort, it's clean, smells good, inviting and the staff is friendly and helpful!! Love the lemonade cucumber water they greet you with at the check-in desk!! Even my husband liked it!! We appreciated the golf carts servicing to rooms, throughout the grounds and other resorts!! Our elevators was not working but managed even if we were on the 3rd floor. I wish people would be more considerate while enjoying the beauty and service offered even on vacation!! SO much to do and see but lots of walking between resorts which wasn't bad.. It kept us in shape with all the food and drinks intake :D !! The kids club was absolutely incredible!! Top notch staff and program was awesome!! My oldest loved it and highly recommend!! My youngest didn't get the chance to enjoy but always had a place.. He was accepted and he got to be on stage during some of the performance with the kids club kids!! My children were loved and treated like gold and so were we!! I We liked the entertainment offered for adults after the kids show. The staff at this resort, works hard and long hours!! Well worth tipping to help them out.. Keep in mind, tips are shared among the staff servicing the area you're at (so tip a little more, if you're able too)!! Never forget to say thank you and show your appreciation!! We never got bothered at the beach to buy things.. Only when you're going towards the Lindo.. The market on the crossing (I think 2x a week) and rare occasions would want you to buy something. If you don't want anything, just say no thank you!! Johny (I hope I'm not spelling his name wrong), the main pool bartender is the best!! He is so knowledgeable, kind and respectful! He cares, works hard and treats you very well!! Wonderful & Relaxing- Family of 3 - Two Adults, One Teenager

The resort was huge and there was lots to see and do. Our room was a good size and the housekeeping service excellent. We found that the majority of the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was very large. Overall the facilities were kept very clean. The food was okay, not excellent or bad just okay. As a vegetarian it was slightly challenging but manageable. Beautiful Big resort with a Great beach

This a big beautiful resort with lots of various things to do. The beach is beautiful and enough beach chairs and umbrellas to find a good spot. Service is very good, and the food buffets are well prepared and nice and have a good variety of everything. The beach bar is great and I loved the beach waitress services. The beach snack bar has fast food type items that are appealing to kids. There is a concierge in many buildings so they can help anytime with anything. It was not that busy so n [... read more]o lines at buffets and service was amazing in all the restaurants. Drinks are not that great, just the standard type of resort concoctions, a little watery and the wine was pretty bad.The snake bar in the Maya section was the best. The only downside might be the size, and it was not that easy to get carts, there did not seen to be very many carts and you had to wait for the staff to call one to pick you up, almost faster to walk so it did become annoying. You really have to like walking if you want to take advantage of the other activities in the adjoining resorts. We are quite active so it was not a problem, but not sure how other people handle that. It looked like a fantastic place for children with the kids water park and many pools. The front lobby staff were amazing, i have never seen such pleasant service.

Good resort

Stayed in Iberostar few times prior to the last visit. In time of booking requested room in the building 62, upper floor, in the wing facing Grand hotel. On arrival was given room on the upper floor in the building as requested but with balcony facing towards the pool (room 6265). Next day found out that even with the balcony door closed there was quite a bit of noise coming from the pool area. Concierge in the building accommodated my requeast and transferred me to the room facing Grand but on  [... read more]the floor bellow (room 6247). It was a mistake on my part: I could hear everything coming from the floor above, furniture moving, steps, doors etc. It was the most unpleasant experience during my stay. The concierges in the building did the excellent job, trying accommodate my requests. Especially want to mention: Claudia, Elizabeth, Alejandra, thank you all. One minor detail: there was no bottle opener in the room. Rooms are in good shape, very good cleaning staff, mini bar was always full. Good selection of international and local drinks at the main bar, JW Black Label, Don Julio tequila, Spanish champagne and wines etc. Main bar (I call it Pyramid Bar, but proper name starts with K), bartenders Johny, Alberto and others are very efficient and trying accommodate your requests in no time at all. With exception of noise (it could be just me as I spend a lot of time in hotels world over while travelling on business and very sensitive to the noise coming from outside) you are getting good value for your money. Good selection and quality of food in La Marina restaurant, La Tapia(?) during lunch, very good service. I corresponded with Tripcentral about Sunwing representative in the hotel. I brought back the card for requesting return transfer to the airport. Shall be happy to scan and to E-Mail it on your request.
