Amazing Resort

Great resort with awesome food! We paid for privilege and were able to eat at an a la carte restaurant each night. Very clean rooms and grounds. The staff were amazing! Great beach and pool. Activities every night. It was so much fun.

Will return

I love this resort. This is my second time there. The food was amazing, above expectations. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The pools were beautiful. The entertainment wasn’t quite what it was the last time I went but not a deal breaker.

Nice Resort

It was a nice hotel although not a 5 star resort overall. Rooms were worn out. Definitely need an upgrade. Drinks at the bar were afoul.. hardly any alcohol in them. Lady at the beach bar not very friendly. I’m not a big drinker although I’d like to enjoy my cocktail ones in a while. Also the management had to do something about reserving the lounge chairs at the beach as well as around the pool area. People reserve them early in the morning 7 am and not show up half the day. One person comes [... read more] and occupies multiple chairs for whole group of 10 or more. Not good. Other than, staff were friendly at the restaurants and reception area. Room cleaning service also good.

Amazing resort

I was at Ocean blue and sand for 10 days. Never had one problem. Staff was excellent. Food was great great entertainment. Everybody was very friendly. I would recommend this and I would definitely go back I had a fall on the grounds uneven pavement twisted my ankle and hurt my wrist

Ocean Blue and Sand Jan '25

3rd visit. Esthetically, the grounds, pool areas, beach are still beautiful and well maintained. The lobby is nice and airy with a decent vibe. From there, things can appear badly in need of an update...We upgraded to Privilege, specifically to avoid a sub-par room and better service. On arrival we were assigned to a back alley view (garden) room with dicey a/c, twin beds (requested king), broken latch on the sliding doors, welcome gift (wine) assigned to someone other than us. Also, not sure ho [... read more]w cool it is to allow the OB cat population to explode as it has there, but we were serenaded by reproduction for the entire first night. We were instructed to resolve the room matter with our butler, who was super helpful (at the beginning) and we did manage to get the room up to date. Privilege helped us to that point, but beyond the reserved beach cabanas, we may as well have been standard class guests. Privilege does not elevate the food experience at all. Despite Butler arranged reservations, we had to line up each night for our tables. Our coveted "Steakhouse" experience was a disaster. Mostly ignored for the entire meal (no welcome, no bread, no refills)...until my partner showed the server her well done (ordered mid rare) dinner. If anyone came by to offer wine/water/bread during the meal, matters could have been resolved, but we were made to feel that it was our fault that the meal was sub-par. Skip the service nightmares at "a la carte" restos, and just go to the buffet. Saving grace...one privilege benefit was the little lounge overlooking the sea with serve yourself snacks and top shelf bar + lovely restrooms!

Awesome resort

First time at this resort. It was more than I imagined. The layout is great, food was great, spa was fantastic. Rooms were clean Abundance of entertainment , staff was very friendly. Will absolutely be back

Beautiful resort on a amazing location

Grounds nice and clean, pools very clean, restaurants and food excellent, beach gorgeous, beach bar needs some improvement on cleanliness ( some glasses not so clean ) Overall it is a excellent resort..

Not so great

It’s not worth the money. Bars are not good. Very cheap quality of alcohol even if you want to pay for higher brand they don’t allow that. Food is not that great too much salt in everything. I won’t recommend this.

Butiful resort

Resort has nice layout, rooms are big, service excellent. Washrooms very clean and showers are big . The food in restaurants, especially Japanese very delicious. Steaks in Steak house restaurant huge and delicious.

Decent resort

Positives: grounds well mentained Buffet food was good and always new things Lady that sings live music during the week Pools are nice and clean. Rooms are nice, showers are nice. Beach very clean and beautiful Negatives: Sports bar that has bowling and ping pong closes at 10:50 pm when everyone wants to go there, open during the day when everyone enjoys the outdoors Dj in club should be fired, most of the music is reggeton, that I can get in Canada too . I m going to Dominican to exp [... read more]erience their culture - bachata and salsa dance not reggeton and Sweet Caroline and YMCA lol Entertainment team is majority guys, only one girl, seems unbalanced and some of the guys they are not very friendly, the tall guy actually pretty full of himself. Drinks are ok but there is room for improvement. Tried to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants, online you couldn't because it was saying always full, they said come at 8 am at the reception for that, but soory in vacation I m not gonna wake up 7 30 to be at 8 am to make a reservation. Very poor sistem. Lounge chairs at the beach not enough and always full in the morning. Shows - very mediocre compared to other hotels in Punta Cana. If you are traveling with a 2 years old don't stay at the 3 rd floor, they have no elevators, carying stroler up and down it becomes exhausting

November 2025

Beach is beautiful with lots of shade and sun. Good variety of restaurants however not open everyday, therefore need to plan well if you want to go to all. Food was always cold in both al a carts and buffet unless ordered off grill. Rooms are large however need some TLC. Not very good entertainment at night and very loud in lobby area. Unable to socialize Staff very friendly

One of my favorites

Mike's coffee is the best, the grounds are always looked after. Route 66 menu needs updating, other food options were good. Beach was awesome! We will go back any chance that we get. Shuttle service from the airport was slow due to construction.

Don't bother, waste of money

Nothing but trouble from the moment we got into our room. Air conditioning didn't work, TV broken, sliding door wouldn't close and app for dinner reservations wasn't working. Took 3 days and 2 complaints to the front desk to get someone to fix A/C. Spoke to guest services and she got the manager involved. He offered us a new room and "Privilege upgrade" for our troubles. After being locked out of our room that we needed to get into to pack up and move to the new room (maintenance had to come dis [... read more]mantle door lock and reprogram so we could get in), new room had more problems than the first. most of the upgrades that come with "Privilege" we didn't get and the room we were moved into had less amenities than our first. It was a downgrade rather than an upgrade. They were supposed to plan something for my husbands birthday as part of this "privilege" and all they managed to execute was a banner on our door. The special restaurant for his birthday didn't acknowledge us or his birthday and we left without anything special happening. I have been to several resorts in the Dominican and I would rate this a 1 out of 5 and that is being generous. Do yourself a favour don't waste your money on this resort. The lawns looked nice since they worked on them from morning to night every day and outside of the buildings were getting a fresh coat of paint everyday but they should take some of that budget and work on keeping rooms functioning. This was not the place for rest, relaxation or most of all DESTRESSING - its the total opposite. Many others we talked to there had issues with their rooms and with the app. So if going by looks is your thing and not function Ocean Blue and Sand has got that.

Don't waste your money - Would not go back to this resort

Amazing, kind, helpful staff. Beautiful resort.

Beach has improved considerably from the hurricanes several years ago. Grounds clean and well-manicured. Public buildings and washrooms are spotless. Electric carts circle the property frequently to transport guests wherever they want to go. Food is available from early morning until late at night. Mike's Coffee is a gem. Staff are all very friendly and helpful everywhere. Entertainment and shows are available in the evenings. We have just completed our 23rd visit to this resort and wa [... read more]nt to go back again.

Amazing Resort

The agent thru trip central Candice Anger was patient when helping me select Ocean Blue and Sand. Her recommendation was spot on with our every needs. The resort she recommended was impressive with the layout of resort and not over sized. The resort was amazing. The hospitality was great and the hotel was clean. Friendly staff and good food. Thank you Candice Anger at tripcentral and Ocean Blue and Sand for making this family vacation very memorable!

Amazing resort!

Excellent service from the hotel staff, very clean amenities all around the facility, family friendly and detail oriented, very nice dining options for everyone and great entertainment schedule every night. Overall, very pleasant experience.

Amazing Resort

Ocean Blue is an excellent resort. The grounds are quite clean, the food is delicious with several restaurant option and variations. The service was great, especially our housekeeping lady, Odalisa and waitors Rafael and young Martin. The pool and entertainment great. I had a fabulous time and would definitely go back.

Decent resort

Enjoyed our stay at this resort. Clean good food and friendly staff. Did a great job of cleaning sea weed off beach. Only negative was too many people on beach trying to sell stuff. Seemed to much at times. But overall was a nice trip.

Amazing resort

The food was beyond excellent, the rooms were good. However the communication between the hotel staff needs to be much better. The air conditioning stopped working and it took almost 7 hours to get another room. Also when I was switched to another room the air conditioner was not working there either, they staff needs to make sure something works before giving it to the guest. Eventually we got a room where the air conditioner was working properly. Secondly, the balcony door did not close proper [... read more]ly which gave bugs the opportunity to enter the room. But I would go back to this resort because other factors which are the food, the hotel staff, the weather and overall experience is a 4 out of 5 stars in my opinion.
