Beautiful resort with a beautiful beach (if you can find a chair)

Sadly, our trip was not the best. From the time of arrival it was disappointing. I had called in previously to ensure we would be able to have a smooth early check in (as we checked out at 2am on our last day there) and I was ensured that we would be able to get our wristbands early without a fee - this was a lie. We had to pay to have them before 12pm. Next issue is that there are not enough amenities for the amount of rooms. Getting a reservation to the a la cart restaurants is nearly impos [... read more]sible. The concierge could care less about being helpful with it and just tell you to keep trying the app. (7 days and couldn’t get a single reservation even though we logged in right when we were told to each and every day) If you have any food intolerance, this will not be the place to go as no one has knowledge of what ingredients are in buffet items. The housekeeping staff were amazing, the bar tenders were a blast, the beach is gorgeous (but finding a chair is also impossible), and the room was comfortable - but unless you plan on living on alcohol your whole trip, I’d suggest you find something with a better food rating.

Krystal Grand Neuvo

We had some things we thought were highlights of this resort. 1. The Skylounge was amazing views 2. The adult infinity pool was so awesome , and the fact they didn’t allow kids( some resorts do even in the adult pool) was amazing and it had a swim up bar 3 the Grill restaurant and the Asian restaurants were both fantastic with incredible service !!

Good Resort

We had a few hiccups with the rooms. Our party had requested rooms side by side but put in different buildings. Our initial room had an leak and ordor and house keeping didn't come around. We got moved to an jr suite and from there had no complaints. We were able to enjoy the rest of our stay. The food was pretty good. We were able to book a la carte but only late night slots..most of the earlier slots were for the Ultra guest. We spent our time between the pool and the beach. Nice Resort

The beach was beautiful. The resort seemed well maintained. The only issue was the app to book the restaurants with was no working properly. It was a real headache. When we were able to book a restaurant, it wasn't always the one we wanted as they would rotate them some nights. Excessively confusing, and an overall bad process.

Great Family Get away!

Staff was excellent, food and service was great with the altitude upgrade. We used the room service several times and the kids always had fun at the kids club. Great location, the beach is okay, and it's a nice easy walk to Bucerias. Overall would recommend!

Wouldn't return

Hotel grounds were well maintained. Beach could have been cleaned up a bit, beach chairs and tables quite dirty. Room were dated, but clean. Not enough storage for clothes, I don't like to live out of my suitcase! Adult pool was very nice but was too loud. Most adult pools have a quiet area this one did not. Maintenance in public washrooms is lacking, many toilet and sinks not working. Food at buffet was not bad, but needed a bit more variety. Neex gluten free options! No self serve i [... read more]cecream bar as in every other all inclusive I've been too. Reservations for a la Carte restaurants was awful! Half the time, the app wasn't working, plus if there's more than 6 people in your party you have to make 2 reservations and split up the people. Quesadilla, omelet and pizza stations at buffet were very good. Check in/out staff weren't very friendly or helpful and concierge services were less than average. Night entertainment wasn't very good, or lack of!

Krystal Grand NV

This was a great 4* resort! We travelled with 4 generations between ages of 4-85 and all of us had a great experience! Pros- good food, lots of fresh options. Comfortable rooms, beautiful beach, fun activities and nice pools. Cons- advertised yoga was only an amateur stretching and Teppanyaki restaurant was only an Asian restaurant. A la carte restaurants were almost impossible to reserve. Air conditioning was sporadic in our rooms. Overall, recommend this resort!

Needs some TLC

First, the good things… the food was quite good , especially in The Grill a la carte restaurant. The staff were amazing - helpful and lovely. Now for the not so good. The rooms were in rough shape. We could only use the wand in the shower (which had broken off the wall), doors fell off their hinges when we opened them and the room was just generally in rough shape. Everyday there were people lined up at the concierge desk trying to make restaurant reservations. They need to make a lot of improvements at this resort. I would not recommend it nor would I go back.

Very nice resort

I hope next time we come to this resort we don’t have to ask every day for hand towels and wash cloths and I would like to see a sheet on the bottom off the blanket and on top our blanket had stains on it I complained and they fixed the issue but definitely to have sheets top and bottom. Thank you

Wonderful resort

This resort was wonderful. We purchased the altitude upgrade and would purchase again. The resort was beautiful, great food, great staff and great location. The drinks were not watered down. We will go again.

Nice resort but too many steps to the lobby

The rooms are nice no complaints but our room was not stocked regularly with water and beer etc. We had to call and waited forever for anyone to come. This is not a 5 star hotel. Maybe 3. The food for the most part was not good. Buffet was always packed and they were running out of food. Waited in line. Food wasent hot…it was hard to book a la cartes for the time we wanted. Luckily I was ok with just a skinned knee a d bruising. We will not stay here again!

The Good, Bad and Ugly

The Good- The staff are the only reason this place stays open! They are professional, polite, pleasant and helpful. Shout out to the following staff but there are more: Max, Amedol -maintenance Esther, Rosario -waitresses Marco- customer service Manuel -Drink waitor Snack Bar, coffee shop, buffet Turtles, wildlife, cat well taken care of. Amazing resort

The hotel was very nice, we were up graded to the Time share building. the wi-fi was not good. we had to go to the office area to get wi-fi. Not ideal at all. we also were speaking to may of the people who have timeshare and there was nothing positive. the rooms needed to be up grated and taken care of. this has nothing to do with our original room at Krystal Grand, however, we wanted to let people know not to go to the Timeshare part of the resort. Second time there food was better than last time service was not .

We had an issue with our room they would not do anything to rectify it for us . Buffet service was definitely hit and miss . Food was good service was definitely not . Our room was also missing towels toilet paper etc multiple times .

Happy with our stay

Well, given negative reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about this resort - but overall, we had a very good experience. I write this review having vacationed at Riu, Melia, Barcelo, Grand Palladium and Iberostar resorts. Here's the good and the bad for Krystal Grand in Nuevo Vallarta. The buffet area in the cafeteria appeared small at first, but this was misleading - the quantity and choice of the food that was offered was great (including for vegetarians). Unlike many other resorts, it was [... read more] kept hot! We enjoyed our meals there. We also found the food tasty in the two of the three on-site restaurants that we tried. The seating for the cafeteria faced the ocean, which made for beautiful views during our meals. With only a couple minor exceptions (mainly around the adult pool), we found the service at this resort excellent, especially at the buffet and restaurants. The beach does not have any trees, but is sandy and very swimmable, with a long shallow stretch before reaching deeper waters. The beds were comfortable, fridge was kept stocked, and our room was quiet despite being close to the lobby and foot traffic. The music around the adult pool was not too loud. The hotel is located an easy 30 minute walk from Bucerias, with its market (where you can book tours for cheaper than in the hotel) and restaurants. A short distance from town, the dog rescue called A Dog's New Life, which you can visit (they can pick you up in town) The hotel put together a fantastic New Year's eve celebration, with a beautiful dinner followed by a dance party. On the flip side, too many people reserved too many chairs (often unused for several hours), which made finding pool/beach seating difficult. On our last day there, we saw that the hotel was finally making more seating available by removing towels left unattended for too long. The Wifi in the resort is very poor. We had none whatsoever in our first room (we moved and had Wifi when closer to the lobby). Non-existent wifi at the adult pool. The rooftop bar isn't attractive. Too little seating, and what's there isn't comfortable. Given the spectacular views, it would make sense for the hotel to create a more inviting atmosphere. Overall, a very pleasant vacation and we would recommend this resort.

This resort is a 3 star.

Grounds were very nice, lots of plants. Pools were good. Food was great a very large variety and always hot. The rooms require a lot of maintenance. There was hot water all the time in our room. The toilet plugged on a regular basis and we eventually changed rooms. The elevators were not running in some of the buildings. This was our 44TH winter vacation always to all inclusive resorts. We have not found a 4 star resort, they just take your money and do not do repairs as required.

Nice resort.

This hotel is great for families and couples. I loved that there was no limit on how many nights you could dine at the al lacarte restaurants. Some people we talked to found it difficult to use the QR code to reserve so we saw Ceasar at the Concierge desk and he booked all our dinner reservations. Actually any issue we had he solved it efficiently and effectively. Very proffessional and good english. Also Axcel, a student that works at this hotel was so helpful and a really sweet guy. The [... read more] buffet is not great - we ate there the first night and choices were not appetizing in the least. The elevator broke down for 2 days while we were there but we just took it as good exercise although I am sure some guests with mobility issues were not impressed. My husband's go to drink is Canadian whiskey and there was none to be found on the resort so he was not happy. With all the canadians that were guests there you would think they would have this as a staple. Also, the lobby is quite big and spacious but only a few chairs (most were taken up by travel reps or Time Share/Tour operators). Hotel needs to make the lobby more inviting and add more seating. Guests waiting for their departure transportation were left to sit on the floor or front steps. Other than these few set backs we had a good vacation.

No thanks

Took four hours to get into our room when first arrived at 6pm key wouldn’t work they recoded it still not working sent someone up to change lock batteries still not working but never tested it after they had no maintenance staff on so finally moved us into another room. Hotel staff that where working we’re good. The hotel is very busy and does not have enough staff. They say the have a Teen club that is false advertising they have a room they can play ping pon video games. We had to go find act [... read more]ivity staff to do activities in the pool teens can be in they would do a water polo was fun for an hour and that was it. We had to get them to set up it another day and they just put them out and left provided no supervision or help a few of us dads had to organize it with the other people who only spoke Spanish so would of been a great help to have activities assist Buffet was typical have had better in lower star hotels very hard to get into the alacarts have to book on line but the advertised great WIFI is terrible even the staff were annoyed by the amount of guests that had to ask for assistance because WIFi sucked. Activities focused only on the adult pool do not come here expecting a good teens club Beach was nice Pool was a little scummy one day rest were good Good variety of drinks but long lines to get a drink even when tipping waiters etc they run off there feet as not enough staff always apologetic for taking so long Will not stay at this place again would rather stay at a 3 star place is not worth the money

Great resort

Food was good , beach and pool very good as well , wifi was terrible , accessing ala carte restaurant system very difficult , a/c in rooms doesn’t work well , hard time getting help when having room problems , ie no water or towels or A/C not working etc Bar service very poor and understaffed as well

Great Resort

The public areas where kept very clean, the adult infinity pool was amazing, complete with the swim up bar. Always great service in all restaurants and bars. The rooms are spacious and clean, nice bathrooms with large showers, towels replenished regularly, good daily housekeeping with mini bar stocked daily. We had a room in the main building on the 10th floor, amazing ocean, pools and grounds views.
