Love the Valentin

Our 6th time here and it’s still exceptional. Great food; so much to chose from! Friendly staff, lots to do if you want and quiet space if you want that too. Love the lush gardens and the fact you can walk Around and not see the buildings. Love the day time entertainment crew. The shows are ok at night.

We love Valentin and keep coming back.

This is our 6th 2 week stay since 2017 and have only missed because of Covid and illness. otherwise it would be 10 visits out of 10. We love the naturally scenic infrastructure, walking and nature paths, beach access,specialty restaurants and formal attire rules, and friendly, responsive staff. It truly is a pleasure to stay. However, the journey from Toronto was incredibly tiring, unfortunately the plane had to be changed and baggage removed. The flight from Toronto to Cancun was 3 1/2 hours [... read more]. From arriving at Cancun Airport it took 3 1/4 hours to reach the resort! Baggage handlers disappeared, ground transportation was chaotic and as a result we will probably not fly with Westjet again and will book the resort directly with Valentin and they will arrange all ground transportation.

A Must Stay

Excellent resort - grounds are beautiful, food was great, service and cleanliness were excelllent. About 25 minutes from the airport so fairly convenient. Felt very safe. Resort was done up for Christmas beautifully.

Valentin Experience

This resort has much to be happy about. The staff are friendly and work hard to make our stay memorable. There are many ala cart restaurants that serve a variety of different gourmet meals. Such as French, Mexican, Asian, Italian, etc. We were delighted with the natural tropical settings. Don't be surprised if you see a few animals wandering around the site. Our room was well appointed and keep clean. We used the smaller pool as the larger one was crowded and very noisy. We wished for a buffet f [... read more]or supper when we did not want the a la cart. It's a large site if walking is your exercise choice. There is a coffee bar which is a nice addition. Get your lattes and ice cream there.

Amazing Resort

The layout of resort is excellent! Blending in the natural environment with the buildings and walkways. All the staff were genuinely friendly at all times, making us feel right at home! Our room was always kept clean and the fridge fully stocked every day with what we wanted and bed was very comfortable. The a la cartes were very good and the foods were all professionally prepared and tasted great! The Imperial Band was fantastic and the lady singer was unbelievable. One of our nightly st [... read more]ops was Don Miguel's. The piano player was excellent and am now hooked on Dry Vodka Martini's. Overall I would and have highly recommended this resort and can not wait until we are back next year.

Amazing resort! Enjoyed our 8th visit.

The VIM is not a concrete jungle. It is an authentic Spanish style with buildings sprawled out within the jungle of immaculate kept grounds and gardens. After enjoying other AI's in Costa Rica and DR, once we visited the VIM, we became repeat guests.

Incredible experience!

This is my second time at the Valentin. I was there about 15 years ago and the experience was even better than I remembered. The food and service were exceptional. Special thanks to Michelle, Adolfo and Oscar in the fine dining restaurants. Virginia and Amado were incredibly attentive as pool/bar staff. We couldn't have asked for a better stay, weather and atmosphere. The resort was only 40% full due to the time of the year and personally, I enjoyed the quieter environment. Resort is amazing!

Food is good, activities are good. Especially those young fellows work on the swimming pool, they organize people join aqua activities. They are very hard workers. But the house keeping no good. The didn't refill the supplies. For example: we have no bottle waters we have to ask bottle water from swimming pool counter

Another great visit!

This was our seventh visit to the VIM, where we usually connect with friends we have made on past visits. On this trip, for some friends, it was their first trip, and we surprised them with our arrival on the last days of their stay! When we asked them about the resort, they said, "We get it" when we talk about why we return. Beautiful grounds, great service, really good food!

Always memorable

We just returned from our latest 10 stay #7 . We once again can only say wonderful things about this resort. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The restaurants and choice are excellent. We look forward to relaxation and were treated well. We would recommend this as the number one destination on the strip.

ANOTHER WONDERFUL VACATION TO A FAVOURITE RESORT!!!!

First let me say that once again it was a wonderful vacation. This was my 9th return trip to Valentin Imperial Maya. I have to say thank you to ALL the Valentin Team! They made my stay a wonderful one! I stayed this trip in building #8 ( located at the golden lazy river pool) ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! I stayed in a Golden Superior Room, located on the top (3rd) floor....Gorgeous views and QUIET!!!! Room, services, amenities, activities, food and staff were (as always) 10 out of 10!! A [... read more]nd I couldn't have asked for better weather!!! My building concierge, Paola, was professional, informative, kind, friendly, helpful and a great pleasure to get to know! Tania, the concierge at the Prive' Lounge was also a pleasure to meet and she also shared the same qualities as Paola!! THANK YOU LADIES!!!!!! Food services Supervisor Yolanda, was so kind to remember me, as always and greeted me with a warm welcome back! As well, the other food services staff like Noemi, Samuel, Snr. Angel.....so wonderful to catch up with them all! So great to see all of these long time staff members which is a testament to the resort that they retain staff for years! Bartender, Veronica always a pleasure to see!! And the Golden pool bar staff were all so attentive, efficient, kind and friendly. They also have food services directly at this pool area. I was really surprised to see the beautiful recent renovations of Le Marche Restaurant.....great job!! Just beautiful, warm and inviting for guests. The resort has a great layout and makes it easy to navigate. Easy for walking if you wish or they have courtesy golf cart transportation around the facility all times of the day. The only unfortunate disappointment was the beach and the sargassum seaweed. Since my past visit 1 yr ago, it seems to be far more frequently reaching the shores. I understand this is an ongoing challenge and circumstances beyond the control of the resort management and staff. So sad this environmental situation for all, both for locals and visitors. I understand this is not isolated to this resort but many in the Cancun/Playa Del Carmen areas. Having said this, I still visited the beach area a few times and did enjoy the sun, breezes and sounds of the water. There are beach bars in locations and a quiet beach area with a bar. A Beautiful view still!!! In my opinion, it seemed to create a situation that more people are visiting the pool areas and makes it harder to find a chair.....Or this may be due to the resort being at full or near full capacity. Tough situation to resolve....not sure if more chairs are a solution at the various pool areas or restrictions and monitoring of unused chairs with towels on them will assist this situation. I'm sure its not easy to resolve to work for all which is often the case at many resorts these days! None the less, this will not deter me from visiting again! I have already started looking into my next return visit! This resort is always consistent on all levels and such is the reason for so many repeat visitors like myself. Looking forward to my next visit in the very near future.

Beautiful place!

Gorgeous resort with natural setting. Food is next level 10/10 Service is 10/10 Love the cafe…I mean I really miss having a cup of coffee there in the morning! The beach is beautiful, sometimes rocky but I recommend water shoes which I did have. Overall, a great experience!

Amazing resort, it won’t disappoint

Beautiful lush grounds, top notch liquor, food and service. Rooms have been updated as well as restaurants. Beautiful clean beach but some rocky spots so not appropriate for swimming. Entertainment in evening was awesome from shows to live music in the courtyard. Average age of clientele is 40-70. Dress code enforced at restaurants. Staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home ! You can find a quiet spot or be a part of the action!

Beautiful resort!

We recently visited this resort in January 2025. This was our first resort experience so we don’t have anything to compare. It is a beautiful resort with amazing grounds full of trees, plants, flowers and wildlife. Lots of shade for you fair skinned folks like me. The resort is very big so make sure you have good shoes but we loved being able to take a stroll and enjoy the scenery. You have the choice of two pools depending on your mood. Both were great but we preferred the quiet golden pool [... read more] or the beautiful beach on most days. The beach shore was a little rocky when you walk in however, it was only for a few feet. The staff were amazing and friendly. They were always hustling and working very hard. We were in a golden junior superior room which was beautiful and spacious. Housekeeping and room service were always 10/10. The only thing I would’ve liked was to be able to pump the A/C a bit more. The lowest you could go was 19 degrees Celsius however, the room still felt humid especially at night. The food and drinks were good. A few stand outs was the sushi at Ginger, the warm steak salad at La Hacienda and the French onion soup at L’Alsace. We only had to wait to be seated for dinner on one occasion due to the terraces being closed in case of rain. We loved the coffee shop and Churro cart. The entertainment was awesome and never lacking. There was always something to do whatever your interests. The excursions and spa were also 10/10! We would definitely recommend this resort to everyone!

Excellent Vacation

Rooms were excellent clean spacious mini bar stocked daily. Grounds were amazing well kept and lit nicely for an evening walk. Food was excellent tried every restaurant was never disappointed. Staff friendly and courteous. Pool was large clean and warm. Beach area separate from resort being ocean not visible from a lot of resort.

Excellent Stay

We had a great time at Valentin Imperial. Rooms were clean comfortable and good size. Mini bar stocked daily. Grounds were excellent. Pool clean and warm. Food was excellent. Entertainment was average. Beach is separate from pool area and not visible from most of resort. I would recommend if beach is not your primary concern.

Resort was well kept up, food was good, service was great, all around good experience.pool and beach were excellent. Go team kept everything fun. I would recommend this place to everyone. Entertainment was also really good.

Amazing Resort

From the resort grounds to the staff, food, beach, and everything in between, everything about this place was absolutely perfect. All restaurants, service and food was beyond fantastic. The Japanese was our favorite but a close tie with the Mexican restaurant. Delicious! The pool and beach we're clean and well maintained.
