Great resort!

Resort is big from end to end it has carts to drive you from room or beach to the lobby. Rooms were clean and well kept by housekeeping. 2 buffets at each end of resort and hotdogs/fries/snacks in the middle bars by the pool. Pool was clean, lots of chairs and a waterslide. Food was plenty and a 7/10. 24hr bar in lobby, other open till 10:30pm. Beer was draft, but cold, rum was aplenty. I would recommend this resort and there was not many kids, lol. Beach was very nice alot of chairs, tiki covered and small rum bar but they where building a hide tiki hut near the beach. Flying out of Windsor was sooo easy and nice.

Great stay!

The resort was fun with many different areas and settings to relax in. You may enjoy the various pool styles and settings, all including bars for your convenience. It was a overall adventure, at first it was easy to get lost due to the size but I quickly learned my way around.

Changes not for the better

After spending many years at Memories (15) we found that things had changed for the worse. We know you don’t go to Cuba for the food but the food at the buffet was not up to its usual and always cold. The steam tables were not turned on. It appeared short on staff. They run out of alcohol, they had no coke cola very poor. We did a day trip and stopped at a highway bar for a rest stop that had better food and selection of drinks that the all inclusive hotel did not have. For the first time the resort was overrun with Russian tourists

Staff is amazing. Beautiful resort

Staff are very friendly and don't demand tips, contrary to other comments. I recommend tipping because they work very hard. Had too many issues with wifi, and reserving food places within the resort. But aside from that, great experience!

Disappointing trip

After being there six times I find this hotel has completely fallen apart. The service is not what it used to be in the hotel itself is not what it used to be picking in choosing what days they would have bread available and just “pour people skills by a lot of the staff expecting tips and window tips were given no service was given you get tips from service not before service is given. This hotel was very good to us in the past but this time around we found it very disappointing. Very very poor first impression for anyone old or new going to this hotel.

Beautiful and neat

We really liked the superior garden view room, it was a nice size and we actually had a king size bed instead of two doubles. It wasn’t really a garden view as it was a major path with palm and coconut trees. Still a nice view. The room had been updated with a walk in shower, no tub. The buffet wasn’t great. Due to the war, supplies are not getting to them. Butter, bread, flour, sugar, pasta were difficult or impossible to find. I am severely allergic to peppers so couldn’t eat anythin [... read more]g from the buffet except meat when available. The cook set it aside for me so I could eat something. I had a protein diet for two weeks. The staff were pleasant but we didn’t really have anyone warm up to us like we are used to at other resorts when we stay for two weeks. Our room was always cleaned and staff responsible were awesome at getting us water, towels etc. The beach was nice. There is a drop off about 2 feet out from shore but fine if you are sure footed.

Average Resort

They have limited alcohol so make sure to bring in a bottle for the week of what you like to drink. Don't pack any nice clothes or they get stolen . The hotel is average but the water is beautiful.I definitely wouldn’t rate this hotel over 3 stars .

Needs Work

The hotel is a bit run down. My safe never worked, had to bang on the door tumblers to come out so I could lock my door. My friends bathroom was full of mild. The food was the same old, same old everyday. The pool and beach was the only saving grace. Only rum and beer at the bars. Some days there was no cream for coffee. Had the same bath towels all week I would not return to this resort. Needs work!

Good service

The grounds and facilities were always well kept. One night, when I returned to my room, I did not have any power. They sent someone to fix it right away after I reported it at the front desk. They received beautiful new beach lounging chairs on the last day of my vacation. The cleaning staff were very friendly and efficient!

Lovely Resort

The grounds were very well taken care of and the hotel was clean. I would definitely return to this resort. The staff were friendly. :) Some villas are undergoing renovations and I’m sure will be fantastic upon completion. The beach was amazing!

Disappointed

Well let me say first that this was our first trip to Cuba and we were told that it might not be quite up to standards but it was worse than I expected. First, we were a party of 5 in 3 rooms. They housed us in 3 different buildings and told us to come back in the morning if we wanted to be moved to be in the same building. It took almost the entire day the next day to get moved. The rooms were relatively clean but missing items. No shower curtain in one, no glasses, no hand towels etc. Gett [... read more]ing these items was quite a chore and took several trips to the front desk. There are supposed to be 6 restaurants on site but 2 were closed and the ones that were open required booking and were booked up. We did manage to book for 2 nights which was also the limit. The rest of our meals were all at the buffet which had long lines for the grill and basically the same dishes every day. Much of the fruit was not ripe and surprisingly there were no bananas. The beach was ok but unfortunately it was cold (15 deg. C) and windy so we didn’t really stay on the beach long on those days. Swimming was closed due to the high surf. The weather improved at the end of the week so we were able to use the beach. The advertising for the resort said there were paddle boats, paddle boards and sail boats. I wanted to go sailing, however, even though I can sail, I was told I had to have one of the resort employees sail the boat which was just a simple catamaran. Maybe they think you are going to sail to Florida. There were no paddle boards available at all and only 2 paddle boats for the whole resort. There was also a severe shortage of chairs on the beach which resulted in people going to the beach early in the morning and “reserving” their chairs with towels or other items. We only managed to find 3 broken chairs. Many chairs were sitting empty with towels on them but we didn’t want to remove the towels. The resort should manage this better. The shows at night were rather repetitive basically with the same show and dancers every night with different costumes. This resort is quite large so there is a lot of walking. They do have golf carts running passengers around but they don’t run as frequently as they should do when they do come they are often full. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. They call it a 3-1/2 star but I wouldn’t rate it more than 2.

Awful

We stayed from Dec 26 to Jan 2. Took over 24 hours to get toilet paper in the room. None in the room when checked in. I had a large family with us traveling 4 rooms total. All had to move rooms because of cockroaches. No beach towels in the room, told to tip maids to get them. Drinks nothing frozen available.. ice they made with the tap water as well as all juices, surprised Noone was sick. I have been to Cuba before and enjoyed it. Will not be back anytime soon. A few bumps to smooth out but overall a relaxing week away

We arrived Jan 1 and enjoyed a very sunny and relaxing week. Check-in went smoothly for us and our room was ready within minutes. However our friends who travelled with us waited until 6:30pm for their room. Room # 39303 was a great room, newly renovated with view of the activity pool. Working air condition, no bugs and working toilet (I heard others complain about such issues). However, we only had one king size bed despite there being 4 of us (2 adults plus 12 and 13 year old). It took one n [... read more]ight, and two requests but we did receive an additional bed. Our maid was great, however we didn't always receive 4 towels and had to ask for more. We read reviews prior to coming and brought our own beach towels which was helpful. Food options appeared plentiful at first, however by day 3 I became very tired of the same food being served in the buffet every day. So I decided it was time to avoid the buffet and just go to the snack bar for a burger. This turned out to no better as all they had available was a ham and cheese sandwich. The supply seemed to replenish later in the week and we had hotdogs and hamburgers once again. The a la carte restaurants were a bit of an issue to book so we ended up with 2 at the end of the week. We were disappointed that we were unable to get reservations for the Japanese restaurant. We saw it closed a few times. We did have a nice lobster dinner at poolside on the Thursday night which was very appreciated as like I mentioned, I was starting to becoming very tired of the buffet. We spent time at both pools and the beach. I was shocked by the lack of lounge chairs at the resort. You had to make a decision each day where you wanted to be and "claim" a spot at 7am or there would be no vacant chairs to be found. We took a walk down the beach and saw at the adjacent resort that they had stacks of chairs available. The staff were friendly and seemed to try their best to ensure we had an enjoyable vacation. I can appreciate that they were likely understaffed and fatigued. Overall we had wonderful week. I felt the overall value of this resort was excellent. We've only been to Cuba once before pre-COVID, and although our experience this time was inferior, I recognize that they are still recovering from COVID and there will be a few hiccups to overcome along the way.

Worst Travel Experience I've ever had!!!!!

Hotel was disgusting! Dirty rooms, cockroaches, no toilet paper (until we moved rooms). Juices and slushy mixes for cocktails were made from tap water! The waitress in the Italian a-la-carte yelled at us because we asked her to repeat the menu. Jellyfish at the beach. The ONLY good thing about the hotel was our maid (in our second room) and the staff at the buffet, in particular, the omelet lady...she was fantastic!

Won’t go back!

Our main complaint was that the maids were seen everywhere but we couldn’t get clean towels, our beds made, water etc. when asked we were told they have no more towels. We checked out with the same towels glasses and sheets as we checked in with. The food wasn’t bad, our phone and TV were cut in half so on the days it was cold and we were in early we had no tv. Less then 2 starts

Extremely late checking. Probably less the %30 Beach chairs available for all guess, not uses able to eat at fine dining, few times finished breakfast without coffee, through out the resort bathroom cleanness not up to standards for any one here.ps, ps, ps,

Terrible foe most everything

Rooms were broken for TV AC and phones. Shower head broke off wall and screw ended up in my foot, never replaced our white towels until day we were leaving. Entertainment at the pool and beach was amazing, alcohol for sure watered down. Half the time non of the machines were working to make drinks even the cappuccino machine broken at 3 of the 4 bars. Beds were ok with comfort. But worst part about this resort is your always wrong and seem to be a bother when you ask for anything. Could have felt with everything if the staff were not as bad as they are. The front desk staff seems like they hated being at work. No one was friendly. And staying this we didn’t even make any big complaints. Oh and we had to keep using main bathrooms because our toilet didn’t flush. Big time this resort should be a 2 star at most. Don’t go here - opt to go to GRAND MEMORIES instead. it is pretty much next door and hands down way better. We went there two of the days on our trip and I wish so bad we would have just flown out following day to get into this hotel.

What a perfect family holiday

This whole vacation was a magical experience for myself my mom and my 2 boys who are 5 and 3 years old. we enjoyed restaurants and especially loved our sushi dinner at a la carte restaurant. There are always great food options.. come on the 24 hour bar and and staff are just sooo hospitable . Shout out to Jamie and Anette from main pool bar!!! Amaury from the lobby!!! All restaurant staff!! You were all so amazing. We will miss you. Beach is perfection!!

Gross

Think the flintstones in a recession🤷‍♂️ I have done 12 trips total and 8 were Cuba. The country needs a humanitarian effort, and the hotels need to share profits with the ticket purchasers. The hotel advertises lots and produces less than a respectable product. The workers are knowingly underpaid and this creates “corner cutting” that the affects the consumer. The hotel is a dive with green pools, hotdogs and eggs as a primary protein, no slide, cockroaches in rooms and buffet, no entertainment, power shut offs, bar shut offs, non stop walking to get a water or a beer nothing in the fridge. It sucks go to the Melia Internacional for drinks food and entertainment

Very bad hotel

We’re should I start no food they ran out of food and pop daily food was cold and tasted like garbage I preordered a room on the second or 3 floor when I got there they gave me a ground floor …. Omg the rooms r dirty they smell like mold the cockroaches are out of this world overall a bad resort to go to !!!!!!!!
