Goood as usual

the hotel was the same as the past years, It is the 8th time we bokk at this place. I understand that the laundry company has problem and the towel where tuff to get, but it hapened previously. This year is a bad year for Cuba and we knew about it before leaving. But at the hotel there alway was something at the buffet that we where able to eat as we wanted. The ONLY DISADVANTAGE was the return flight which took place in an old Russian or Czechoslovakian plane with the seat broken down, very uncomfortable for a four hour flight. Guy Tremblay

Islazul Los Delfines

This Hotel is not a 3 star the first room I was assigned had black mold on the shower window ledge and all over the mirror frame. No hot water for a shower toilet installed wrong smashed my knee off the door so tight . Buffet was boring and cold. Staff was the only positive attribute to this establishment.

Disappointment

I was 10 times in Cuba and 3rd time in this hotel. This year is first time I am disappointed. All week the hotel didn’t receive beach towels, no clean towels in the room. The selection of food was worse then ever before

Location best about hotel

This hotel is absolutely the best down town Varadaro location, however, you have to be willing to eat out at the locale restaurants as what we have done our last three stays here. Unfortunately this last stay here in Jan. 2020 the food was ever less appealing that our two previous stays. (Two mornings no bread or eggs) So even a light breakfast was not possible. We didn't even try lunch or dinner in the buffet restaurant. On two occasions the pool bar was out of beer??? Lots of staff, how [... read more]ever, most are not trained very well or supervised as they can be loud and disruptive in public areas. Lots of small maintenance jobs to be done such as no water in the kids pool, cracked or missing tiles galore. Most of the common area bathrooms were working this time. The beach is great, but lots of smokers who seem to think it is alright to drop their butts in the sand. I saw one staff picking up butts one day only and he only did a small area. We will be looking at different properties next year.

Great review

Hotel overall was great. Rooms were comfortable with two twin beds. Nice shower with hot water every day. There was always something good to eat at the buffet, I always left full. My only beef about our vacation was the rude French Canadians, they think that they don’t wait their turns at the buffet or the bars. I never once saw them tip anyone. Just rude people.

Amazing Resort

We have been to this resort 3 times know and this was by far the best time we had. Lots of chairs on the beach with umbrellas, Great staff and awesome food. In the middle of town so great for walking around town. Will definitely go back again.

Had a nice vacation

The hotel was relative to what we paid. One pool was empty, a few creepy crawlers and some unlit hallways. The staff however, so friendly and kind, the location was awesome and our oceanview room and balcony was so amazing. Would definitely go back but bring some extra snacks ;)

Comfortable Resort

The resort was clean,comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accomadating.Beach was clean. Food acceptable. Entertainment staff were outstanding. Pool area clean. Bar staff were excellent. Over all i would go back to this resort

Very nice resort

We liked that it was located right on the main street in Varadero and on the beach. The hotel was very clean and the staff were all very friendly. The food was good and always fresh. The bartenders were courteous and we really enjoyed the fresh coffee.

The worst place I've ever been to.

The service was terrible and the workers know it and don't care. Our room was a standard room...however we did not have hot water...the hairdryer didn't work and the bar fridge didn't work....I asked for another room and they said tomorrow....I go back the next day and she said no rooms available...then I asked for a hairdryer and they said ok but never got one...I asked 2x then gave up...i said will I get hot water and the response was it is a big problem on the side we were on but never offer [... read more]ed any resolution.....there were no towels...everyday they said tomorrow...but tomorrow never came....the al la cart was closed and they didn't know why. The food was the worst ever...same thing for lunch and dinner...the side dishes were disgusting...flies everywhere...cockroaches walking around...we had to go out and pay for dinner cause it was so bad. I can't even say I paid for what I got cause I really didn't get everything that was included in the price...frankly we overpaid!!!!!! You even had to pay for bottled water....PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS RESORT 👎👎

You Get what you pay for !!!

My First time at this hotel normally stay at the Mellia or iberostar chains, this was a last min trip so wanted to be close to town This hotel is older so your amenities and rooms are what they are. The cleaning of the building was up kept very well. My first day phone in the room did not work, problems with the front door to my suite, and finally put all my documents into the safe locked it and could not unlock it because I forgot my wallet. Security and building maintenance ended up removing  [... read more]the safe from the wall and opening it, and said they would install a new one in the morning, well they never did. The telephone the tech made an attempt to fix it but they knew that the phone system did not and has not been working for a long time. Finally three days into my stay the front door to my unit did not open, i was locked in the room,door handle broke from the inside could not phone front desk ( they never fixed the phone) so I was locked in my room not being able to exit. Since I had an ocean view, I yelled down to the security and asked him to come up and open the door. They fixed the door the following morning. The beach was fun clear and no mosquito Overall it is cheaper and your going to get exactly what you pay for

Great value for a great family vacation

Great family vacation. The beach is beautiful. Room had a balcony, a mini fridge, and great air conditioning. The hotel is quaint and the buffet/a la carte restaurant has great views of the ocean. The staff on the beach helped us set up lounge chairs and umbrellas wherever we wanted, all under extreme heat and with a friendly attitude. Fresh eggs, fruit and juices in the morning. Turkey dinner another night, fresh fish made to order. The pool bar had fruit infused water and pizza for snacks.  [... read more] The a la carte restaurant was our best experience, Gustavo, our waiter, was an absolute professional, we were so impressed with his care. The view and ambience at the a la carte restaurant was top notch. Our package included the cave excursion and visit to the city of Matanzas. We loved the experience, the guide was so friendly and knowledgeable and included all the different languages that everyone spoke so no one would feel left out. Great value for a very nice trip.

So sad

Dinning room was small &, dark very very dirty table clothes every day. Food was usually spilling out of there very small warmings trays. Flies always on the uncovered bread ..fruits and butter. Most of the serving staff very unfriendly. Most of the staff just didnt seem to really be very interested in there jobs. I encountrted littrtally one if the worst front desk. Vhevk in clerks ive ever had in all my many travells. This Guy behaved as if he was massively constipated and speaking, movng a [... read more]nd looking at U was a tremendous burden. My room had hige amounts of water seeping in 4 nites in a row. No one came to assist. I had to go hunting for help. Got a houskeeper once. By the fourth nite of rain I just gave up and let the room flood. No towels all week..None...until the nite before I checked out. Fortunatly I always walk with my own to Cuba. Everyone smoked while on duty. The maids..sécurity..at the excursion desk...etc Best thing...I got lots of great Sun. The sea was fantastic. And I met some Awsome folks.

Ok Resort

The location is perfect. The bedrooms are dull. No hot water or very low water pressure. The food is bland, pretty much the same everyday. The music is terrible, they blast reggae ton on the beach at 9 am. People are there to relax and they play the same garbage everyday. The only good night they had entertainment was when a band was playing authentic cuban music. The only bartender that is good there is Amaury. I would only go back if the price were right.

Uninvited guests

Where to begin? Let's start with the positive! Most of the staff are exceptional and truly care about you and your stay, most of them go out of their way to make sure you have a good vacation! The pool is nice and is usually very clean and clear, the beach is absolutely stunning, one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, the drinks are good, and the location is fantastic, now for the negative, I have mobility issues and use a cane to walk, I was put on the 2nd floor which required me  [... read more]to walk up 4 flights of stairs to my room, the ne t day after waiting 2+hours after we were told to come to the front desk to switch rooms we were given a room on the first floor, the next day our toilet wouldn't flush, I told the front desk at 8:30am ,it wasn't fixed until 4:00pm and then broke again after 1 flush, the maid fixed it temporarily after one of the staff yelled at me and said it was my fault because I flushed toilet paper down the toilet and I was to put the paper in the garbage from now on, I was livid, the maid heard and reassured me it was the toilet tank not filling up that was the problem, she fixed it and later brought the plumber to fix it properly, the next day I woke up to a bed full of bugs and my husband was covered from head to toe with bites,I showed the bell hop and he took bugs from the bed and my husband and showed the staff and they changed the sheets and handed us a can of raid and told us to spray the room and leave the room for a few hours, I can deal with the older decor as I knew this when booking and it didn't really bother me, I liked the Cuban charm of the hotel but this hotel could really benefit from a little TLC, a fresh coat of paint, including on the furniture, some gardening to liven up the grounds and camouflage the cracks and damage to the lower part of the building, some maintenance on the patio at the lobby bar is much needed, more umbrellas at the pool area, and the food, omg!!! It is horrible!! Now I have been too Cuba 4 times and I know full well that you do not go to Cuba for the food, but this food by far was beyond awful, even breakfast was bad, it was the same food almost every day for both lunch and supper, people walked into the buffet and walked right back out! It was that bad, we ate supper out almost every night at one of the local restaurants that were just up the street and had delicious food,the one too the left had seafood pasta and filet mignon, lobster and lots of seafood dishes and a big menu, the one to the right is called la Viscaria and has some seafood and lobster tail, and caters to alot of Cubans and has alot of Cuban dishes, both are good and reasonably priced,we saw many people from the resort at the restaurants eating, if ot wasn't for the big issue we would have considered going back because of the beach, location, and a few of the staff we became close with, there was also a flea market just up the road and apparently an outside bar with live bands that played some rock music which we planned on going to but didn't because my feet and ankles swelled horribly,probably from walking up 4 flights of stair for a day, and my hip and legs were extremely painful, again aggravated from the stair climbing.

The Best Time!

Terrific staff and people. Walkable to Varidaro entertainment, flea markets, restaurants. Room was cleaned daily and requests were resolved in a reasonable time frame. It's a must see for everyone.

Beautiful beach and great bars

My stay was very relaxing. Service throughout was very good. Beach guys really nice and quick to set up your umbrella and chair. Room was basic but clean with nice balcony overlooking pool. Meals were good for Cuba. Not a lot of variety. Nearby live bands and dance clubs. Interesting area and very safe. A la carte restaurant picturesque with great service. Good wine. Nice mix of people. Mainly couples.

Our Second Home

This was our second visit within 6 months and it is amazing the upgrades that have happened. The Imperial dining room was opened with fantastic food and amazing presentation and our waiter Gustof was so personable, as were all the staff. Our room was serviced by Bryookas and did a wonderful job. Some of the servers brought their children to the resort and it was nice to meet them. Alain and Levy that worked the 24hr bar were very friendly and the server from the lobby bar brought his son Carl [... read more]os Enriquez, a charming, shy 6 year old that came to hug me. The gentleman that retrieved our luggage from the holding room was so excited that his daughter had just give birth to a baby boy 10 minutes ago and was beaming with joy. Reception staff were very quick to help us. Check in and out was a breeze. The pool was cleaned daily and the lobby bar area was kept nice and clean. Security staff were very friendly, Maurice was so proud to show off his two handsome sons and beautiful wife. What more can I say..except this will be our second home!

Management needs to listen

We have gone to Delfines for years. We like it because of the in town location on the beach. And we know the staff who do their best despite the lack of resources given to the hotel and it’s infrastructure. Food was somewhat improved this time but limited food resources make meals challenging. You can’t work without resources. You can’t expect a 5star resort for 2 star prices. This hotel has potential but continues to be neglected and ignored by the hotel chain. Nice resort

clean rooms, very nice beach, clean swimming pool, good service and food and exceptional restaurant a la carte. good location close to Havana, some problems with internet connection should be improved.very professional and nice entertainment programs. we really enjoyed staying there
