Excellent Service

This is our second trip to the Iberostar Grand. We just love this resort. The beach is beautiful, the water is clear and you can see the little fish and marine life around you. One day we saw a star fish about 20 feet from the shore line. I can't say enough about the food, the buffet is just as good as the a la carte restaurants, the best of the best. The food is fresh and they have everything you could possible want. If you want to try the a la carte restaurants I strongly recommend that you co [... read more]ntact the hotel directly and book them in advance, don't wait until you get there because they are all booked up or you will end up with a 9:00 pm reservation. The rooms on the ground level are a little tired and should be updated. The bed is super comfortable. We like Red Strip beer but it was nice to have the option of Bud Light as well as other brands to choose from. The service is excellent however tipping becomes stressful at times. Many of the guests we met and chatted with seemed to be stressed out about how much to tip and when to tip. I wish they had a no tipping policy like Sandals however the service is way better than Sandals. We've been to many different hotels chains like Couples, Sandals, Barcelo and Melia and the Iberostar Grand is definitely a step up. If you decide to take advantage of the 2 complimentary rounds of golf at White Witch and Cinnamon Hill, keep in mind that a cart rental is mandatory at $40 per person and the caddy tipping fee is minimum $25 per person. The golf clubs rental is $55. If you enjoy golfing, it is well worth the cost. Transportation, drinks and snacks are also complimentary.

WONDERFUL RESORT

This adult all inclusive is a great place to stay with a variety of eating places and activities throughout the day IF you choose to attend or be part of. The Kiniro Japanese was our favorite restaurant, not only from the food selection but the entertainment provided at the cooking tables. We also went twice to Es Palau...their fish was amazing. The Galleon had great meat selection...Port Maria was our go to for breakfast and lunch....The Cornwall had an amazing selection also for breakfast [... read more] and dinner.....La Toscana was their Italian restaurant....they should change the name because IT WAS NOT ITALIAN...we were very disappointed with the food and cancelled our last night there, and chose the Cornwall. Our suite was amazing...and always looked after...the beach was beautiful and clean...the pools were nice...If you love golf you should play The Witch and Cinnamon Hill...the views are inspiring...the fairways could use more grass...putting areas were good. Nightly entertainment was very good.

Awesome resort

Food was the best I’ve ever had, staff was amazing, hotel super clean everything was top shelf. Our agent was super helpful (Sue Snider) and we are going to use her again. The room we had was absolutely beautiful

Grand is grand

The service was fantastic. Very attentive. Warm and friendly staff. Butler service A+ Restaurants plenty and food delicious. The StarPrestige option lived up to its billing. Private beach relaxing and excellent service. The golf courses: White Witch and Cinnamon Hill were excellent. Both in great condition. Caddies knowledgeable and fun.

This is a grand resort!

This resort does not disappoint, the rooms are wonderful with the wicker swing and couch on every balcony. The grounds are beautiful and the pools are gorgeous ( a little cold but nice). The food is exceptional and the New Year’s Eve Buffett was spectacular. Very decacadent with ice sculptures and the most amazing display of food I’ve ever seen. You can eat breakfast and lunch in the restaurant on the beach which had a lovely buffet and a killer view of the ocean! The restaurants are all outstanding and all the guests raved about the food all week. It’s certainly good for older people as they close the pool bar at 6 pm and the resort becomes quiet and serene and alive with tree frogs!!! We found the people super nice and the service very good. Please tip these hard working people as they really go out of their way to make your stay Fantastic!! The golfing was spectacular with breathtaking views and the caddy very helpful and knowledgeable.The men and women at the front desk were always helpful, our butlers were helpful and friendly and room service was excellent. The ladies who serve both at the pool and the beach were incredibly attentive walking back and forth in the sand with large trays of drinks for us to enjoy. The bartenders are also great and full of humour! We will be going back most definitely.

Another "Grand" time at the IB Rose Hall

If you want to be pampered and enjoy a 5* experience, this is the place for you. As repeat guests over the years, we continue to be amazed with the service and hospitality shown towards all guests of the resort. What separates the Grand from other resorts we’ve visited in Jamaica is the professionalism of all the staff, the great service, excellent food and attentiveness to details. A welcome back greeting and a “see you next week” hug when you leave makes you feel safe and right at home your entire stay. A huge shout out to all the staff from Junior (front desk), Keneesha (beach service), Judy/Ofilah (breakfast/lunch buffet hostesses), Duran (butler), Kieno (pool bar), Andre (lobby bar) to Thunder/#Hashtag/Vanessa/Pistachio (star friends), as well as the housekeeping/grounds workers/lifeguards/security personnel and concierge and kitchen staff. Thanks to all of you, we had an amazing holiday with no stress, no worries and no problems. We stayed at the resort leading up to Christmas and enjoyed the elegant decorations throughout the hotel. We also took advantage of the complimentary golf at Cinnamon Hill and White Witch – a great bonus for those who enjoy golf as the courses are beautiful. An afternoon trip to the Rosehall Shopping Centre on the complimentary shuttle was also fun and a great option if there are a few raindrops falling to chase you off the beach. The water was calm and clear; perfect for a sunset snorkel cruise. Pools were a bit cool for my liking at this time of the year but the ocean was perfect for swimming. Our room was kept spotless and any issues were dealt with immediately – the room safe was not working upon our arrival and after a quick call, someone was at our door to replace the battery within 5 minutes. When the safe stopped working a second time, the safe was replaced immediately with many apologies from public relations. Special thanks to O’Neil who assisted in our Trip Central booking and ensured our trip was perfect – we were celebrating my 50th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary, which were both acknowledged by hotel staff, along with our specific room request. We enjoyed our island time and will definitely be back – Ya Mon, Jamaica is Irie!!

Amazing Resort

This Place is a little piece of heaven it is so amazing. I will not forget the treatment we received while here, from the Butler to the Concierge and staff they all made sure we had an amazing trip. Olivia at the front was AWESOME always greeted us with a SMILE and asked how are day was going. The two Gentlemen that checked us in were also AMAZING they made us laugh and smile the whole time. This resort is so clean the grounds staff were out at 5am when I was on my balcony early morning I would see everyone cleaning the grounds so well. we will definitely be back to Iberostar Grand/ Suites and will recommend this place to anyone looking to go to Jamaica.

Not a luxury hotel!

Dont let the name fool you, this is not luxury. The Grand was built 7 years ago but it is quite dated. Food is good, beach full of seaweed. For the price we paid, we should stayed at a Sandals resort.

Truly Grand

This was our 4th time visiting the grand, and once again it did not disappoint. The food, drinks, grounds, rooms and especially staff/people are absolutely amazing. I would give it 10 stars if possible. You are treated like royalty!!! We will be back for a fifth time for sure!

Best Resort Yet!

Iberostar Grand was immaculate. Cleans twice daily and constant painting, upkeep etc during our stay. Staff were always super friendly and helpful and they upgraded our room because we were on our honeymoon. We can't say enough about the food! Hands down best we have had and every night including the buffet! Will definitely be going back!

Our most favorite resort

Everything is so clean. Staff are so friendly and efficient. The food is great. We love the beach. The water is so clear and warm. There are a lot of things to do on the resort. We have been at this resort four times.

Iberostar Grand, not so grand, sorry this is so long......

Just got back from Grand Rose Hall, a group of 6. The weather terrific, beach okay. Water nice, warm, shallow, lots of people enjoying the water every day. Sand is more coarse than other Caribbean beaches. No shells, no waves? Where are the waves? Arrival to the resort was smooth. Front desk staff was cordial but not over the top welcoming. I am not sure about the butler - did not do a thing for us. We had arranged our dinners prior to arrival. Rooms were fine, very similar to the Grand  [... read more]in Mexico and the Dominican, so no issues there. Most standard rooms have a view of the ocean, so don't pay for that. Room was musty smelling (bring incense) and hallways are very dark and carpeted and could use brightening up. Elevators as well could use some servicing - always one out of order, which was not comforting. What I found different from other 5 star resorts was the level of service and attention to detail. We received a phone call on our first day there asking us if we 'were part of the wedding party group'(we were not) - he did not call us by name so I was a bit suspicious. The second day I received a phone call from someone identifying themselves as a bellboy, again he did not use our names and they asked what time we wanted our suitcases picked up since he heard we were leaving tomorrow! - on day 2 of our vacation! I was not impressed. The other 2 couples did not receive any welcome phone call at all - asking if we were good and if we needed anything. Not sure what these people were doing? We ordered room service one morning for 7am. Hung the request on the door the night before as directed. Never came. Our friends had one miss as well. A disappointment in this level of service. We ate at all a la carte restaurants. We all managed to find something to eat. Not outstanding cuisine compared to other Grand resorts. Dress codes here are not enforced. People came into Italian and Gourmet restaurants wearing shorts and flip flops. Why have a dress code? We ate in the buffet one evening for Italian night.... just ok. Breakfast buffet is fine - not the selection as other resorts we have been to, but always something to eat. Lunch buffet was probably the best food. House wine is limited compared to other Grand's. Poolside was nice enough- 3 good sized pools showing some wear with many missing tiles, but it never felt crowded. We got our space by the pool every morning without issue. Mind you, we were up at 7am to secure spots while my husband went to grab coffee from the shop at the resort next door. Floaters, not a lot of them but we managed to share a few each day. ( Better yet, bring your own.) Some days they asked for your room number some days they did not? It's not like I am taking it home. Sunscreen is provided at the towel hut if you don't mind cross contaminating. (not for me) A lovely lady behind the counter will even do your back and the top of your head - if you ask. Poolside service was intermittent at best, not the ladies fault, not well staffed. When they did come around, they were lovely. Some issues with straws. The resort does ask that you refrain from using straws since it is contributing to plastic getting into the ocean, but if you ask a waiter they usually oblige. Day 1- can I have a straw, no problem. Day 2- can I have a straw, no problem. Day 3- can I have a straw, "NO there are no straws here" ( The beautiful girl in the bikini beside us had no problem getting a straw but for us it was a NO). Not sure about the selective straw issuance? (BYOS) As an aside, we were all pretty good about using only 1 straw a day! We like to sit outside for breakfast, a group of 6. No problem on day 1, no problem on day 2, on day 3 when we asked, the staff said "No, we do not seat 6 outside". Not sure what that was about? Turn down service was hit and miss as was daily room make up. I think we had one or the other but not both. Not sure why this was such a problem? Stocking the room was fine but not to Mexico standards. When we were checking out, we arranged a wakeup call the night before. They called us at 5am and hung up and then called at 6, the correct time. We arranged for the bell boy to pick up our luggage at 7 - he never showed. We took our own luggage down. When we got down there, there was not a bellboy to be seen. At the counter, they just checked some papers and said - let me cut off your bracelet. No real warm good-bye or come again soon? Some of these issues may sound petty, but cumulatively it was disappointing service for what we paid for. No worries man, we won't be returning..... Our group loved the sun and the opportunity to be together, but not impressed overall by the service, food, or beverages. We were disappointed in the resort compared to other Grand's and Excellence resorts (which we love) -which are way above this level of service and care.

Wonderful resort... our happy place!!

Stayed January 21-28th, 2018. 3rd time at this resort and it is still amazing. Beautifull grounds, lovely nice big room with a huge bathroom...double sinks, separate rain shower & big tub. Everything very clean and in working order, including AC. Housekeeping always does a super job and the mini fridge is always topped up daily with bottled water, juice, pop, beer, little bottles of alcohol and snacks. You can customize what you want in your fridge just by letting your butler know. Let's face it..no matter how beautiful the resort is, it is the staff that make the difference & the staff at Iberostar Grand definitely make a difference! Here is an example... My husband got a pretty bad sunburn ( he burns in the shade and didn't put enough sunscreen on one day). We decided to spend the next day hanging out in our room to keep him out of the sun and our butler noticed this. The butler (sorry, I can't remember his name) showed up at our room a few minutes later with a big bottle of aloe gel for his burn. So thoughtful and kind!! There are 3 pools at this resort with an abundance of loungers and covered beds. There is a towel hut so you can exchange wet towels for dry ones as many times as you want and there is even sunscreen there for the guests to use. The beach is not huge but the sand is nice and soft and the water clear & sooo warm! Lazy days on the beach with drink service right to your lounger...what more can you ask for. ( Kinesha is a gem, so sweet, kind, personable and works so hard slugging those drinks to us all day long in the hot sun and always with a smile on her face). The food in all of the restaurants is Yummy and the best that we have ever had at any AI resort, and we have been to many different resorts over the past 10 years. Even the room service food is great. There is something to suit all tastes so you will definitely never go hungry. They even have BBQs on the beach on some days. Can' t beat eating fresh fish, jerk chicken etc in your bathing suit on the beach! The Star Friends will keep you entertained with beach volley ball, pool games,etc if that's your thing. They are tireless and work so hard but are not pushy so if you just want to laze around that's just fine too. Jamaica and Iberostar Grand Rose Hall is our happy place and if you give it a try it might just turn into your happy place as well.

Great hotel

Stayed here before. This time in a swim up pool. Wouldn’t stay there again prefer the ocean view suites. Great food and great staff. Butler service was not helpful this time. We will be back . It is close to the airport , has a great beach and the staff are active and keep the place vibrant.

Very high class resort.

Room was amazing. Bathroom superb for 2 gals. Patio-huge. Butler/concierge service was spot on with quick turnaround time when you had a request. A la carte restaurants were good, but I would have not have minded the buffet every night unlike other resorts I have been to where I have been tired of the buffet food after 1 wk. Vegetables were cold at the buffet beginning of the week but improved. Service at the restaurants was great. Beach was fabulous, ocean floor sand, not rocks. Pool was fin [... read more]e. Lots of Cabana's at pool, but they were set up so you were either in the sun or the shade, and unable to move your lounge chair from sun to shade or vice versa. Only one complaint> We did not take in any of the evening entertainment as it did not start until 9:45 pm. When you eat early Supper, there is nothing to do in the evening.

Third time’s a charm

Third time to this resort. Food was excellent, rooms real nice, and the animation team fantastic. I think the bathrooms are in need of being updated, but not too bad.....another year or so. The staff work really hard and seem to enjoy what they are doing. We saw quite a few staff from our previous visits and they have not sciped a beat. The beach is nice, but not very long if you are a beach walker. Played golf at both WhiteWhitch and Cinamon Hill. Bermuda grass killed me, but winter gol [... read more]f is better than no golf. The resort is about 20 minutes from the airport which is handy and the golf courses are both in between the hotel and the airport....so very convenient. Go and enjoy yourself.....like we did.

Went To Heaven For A Week

Iberostar Grand Rose Hall was the best all inclusive resort we ever have stayed at.All the food was scrumptious,staff at resort was so friendly,our butler oniel was exceptional and the gym at the resort and classes completly exceeded our expectations.We can't wait to go back soon. Brad & Rita

Incredible

We had such a fantastic time at the resort. The weather was not ideal, but the entertainment staff made sure we were well looked after. They brought the games inside and we made the best of it. We enjoyed the food, everything prepared to perfection. Five kinds of caviar at the lunch buffet. We were a group of 14 people and they accommodated us quite nicely. Our butler Gawayne was on hand at all times to make sure we didn't want for anything. Would definitely go back.

Excellent Vacation Location

The hotel is well maintained and offers excellent adult only facilities for the perfect vacation. The highlight is the staff and if you get a room with a butler that is even better. They look after all your needs. We had 2 and a half days of rainy weather which topped off our week but still it was good. The restaurants are also worth visiting and offer great a-la-carte meals.
