Great Resort for families

On arrival, we were approached for a presentation (selling tactics) to get a membership to be part of their premium package. I spent a lot of time with them but when I asked them how much would the membership be, she said nothing and then said we pay only when we'd use the program to make reservations, and since my husband wasn't with me to make a decision, I left. For me, you pay for a membership (monthly payments). It was a loss of my precious vacation time. The grounds were pretty much clean [... read more] except for the beach weeds still on the beaches, left there or in bags, and after being there all day, full sun or not, the smell of those rotten weeds was pretty bad. I was there for two weeks so right after high winds and high waves, debris of weeds accumulated and it was not a pretty picture. Please clean and pick up the weeds in their bags left for days. Other than that, it was OK. Pools were cleaned every day which I appreciated a lot. The entertainment was great! The bathrooms and dining areas were overall pretty clean. The personnel are pleasant enough throughout the resort. The cleaning of the rooms was done whenever, with no schedule, from morning to dinner time. It's a good thing that we didn't mind too much but I still think that I should mention it. Our grown-up kids and grandchildren had a blast as there was always something to do at the resort. Thank you for having us, taking care of us, and feeding us. :)

Great resort

Love the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. This hotel is great for both adults and children. We enjoyed all the a la carte restaurants (especially the Indian) and would highly recommend this resort. Our only complaint would be our room was too close to the entertainment so we had loud music until 1:00. Next time we will ask to be far away from this -- but we would like to return.

Grandiose resort

Well maintained 16 yr old building with all the amenities. I believe it is the 2nd largest resort in Jamaica. Picture shows the adult pool which has access to a rather little private beach where we came across a friendly barracuda. No end of other beach or pools. The 1,000 units are spread over the vast area and so the shuttle buses respond immediately to your beck and call if you need them. It is a 45 min ride from the airport but the traffic can add a 1/2 hr at times. Only complaint, the TV could not stream NetFlix or others and the Stingray audio did not come through. Much of the accommodations are 3 storey and we enjoyed our quiet and clean one.

Perfect family vacation

Let’s start off with the check in . We are a group of 10 . We had requested a room with double beds for my son and his friend I even sent an email . Once we arrived they informed us that they did not have a double bed room till 3 days into our vacation. We were a bit upset but the boys weee okay with it. The boys went to their room and we went to ours . Once we opened our door we noticed we had 2 double beds. So we switched. Resort is clean . I don’t understand as the resort is massive and should be able to accommodate groups. Other than that . We will be booking for 14 days next year . The cabana girl by the name of Christine was the most amazing and beautiful person we met . She went beyond her role to make our cabana experience even better than we had planned. Great resort

Had everything our family of four generations (toddlers to seniors) needed such as kiddie pools, beaches, etc and lounge chairs were never a problem. Getting a beach towel or returning it was not an easy process so had to lug it back to the room until the next day. Clean and well maintained grounds and buildings and best of all the food was very good with plenty of selections.

Great Resort for families

We arrived after 8pm and our check-in was seamless. The staff at the check-in desk were friendly and fun. We had a standard room in villa 27 and we were central to everything. The grounds were well maintained as was the beach. The food was phenomenal, the shows were good but repetitive. However, I know the entertainment staff work so hard to put on a show each night. Main pool was great, lots of beach chairs at any point in the day. Beach wasn't large but beautiful and big enough to enjoy. There are two sections of the beach, one by the main pool and another hidden in a bay by the poseidon restaurant (sunset cove). A la carte options were plenty but beware, they encourage booking through the app but if you are booking for more than 1 room, book early through guest services. We booked one under our respective rooms with a note to seat us together, which was a group of 7 of us (app states to only go to guest services if more than 7 ppl). Upon arriving at the restaurant and explaining that we wanted to be seated together, they were cold and dismissive. We ended up sitting on different sides of the restaurant (even with an empty table beside ours that seated 4) but tried to make the best of it. Our dinner there was great but our service was terribly poor. The coffee bar and sports bar were definite highlights. The sports bar is a beautiful, hidden gem with great food options, pool tables, ping pong, lots of tvs and just nice in general. Overall, we had amazing weather, ate great food, met a lot of new people, swam, drank and had fun! Despite some small service issues, I would highly recommend this resort.

Quiet

Entertainment was not good in the evening and there was next to know activities during the day at the pool or beaches. The buffet was not good and was the same most every night. The desserts were terrible.

Disappointed

The hotel is older and although they are doing "renovations" it's really like a slight face lift; mostly refresh with paint; nothing special. The rooms had a foul order, like wet cardboard. Each pod has a fountain on the ground floor that is completely useless and contributes to the smell. My balcony door did not open so I was unable to use the balcony. I am Jamaican so I might be extremely biased re the food. Absolutely crap. Menus so deceiving. Now the service...ABSOLUTLEY IMPECCABLE. Check [... read more]-in was a little tedious but the courteous, friendly, efficient staff made it bearable. Servers were alert and attentive.

PAID FOR 4.5 STAR HOTEL FOR UNDER 3 STAR

Must read before you book. ‘Don’t waste your money.’ We want to share our unsatisfied experience with our recent stay at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton in Jamaica. As you know we paid for 4.5 stars hotel, however the hotel and in general the resort was below 3 *. Starting with the distance from the airport to the resort as per the Website suppose to be about 30, minutes, but we were stop in several other resort to drop off the guests and we reached our resort after an hour and 45 m [... read more]inutes. On our second day the AC units start leaking water in our room and half of our room was flooded. We called for help and the maintenance guy told us that he will inform the management to give us another room nobody showed up, we went to reception, there was no report about the issue in our room. The staff didn’t want to help, we asked to talk to manager no one want to talk to us. We wait the entire morning until late afternoon to change our room and spend the rest of the day repacking or stuff to move to another room. We waste one day of our vacation. The condition of the room the cleanness in no way close to 4.5 start hotel, extremely uncomfortable beds. The beach was full of seaweeds floating all over the beach. The evening entertainment shows was very boring with 10 dancers and just changing the outfits and the same dance over and over again. Food was okay, the excursion price was outrageous $165 American per person.

The resort is fantastic

My experience at the Grand Pladium was amazing I would recommend this resort everythime I most definitely want to go back. Every thing was great the service, the rooms and the restaurant is great. The staff very friendly and accomadating .my favorite was Tenisha Brown she was truly amazing.

Family trip, group of 6

Beautiful views, mostly friendly staff with some outstanding members. Food was very good at buffets and a la cartes. Beaches were smaller but nice. Pool is huge and kept clean but too many areas in close proximity playing different loud music. Not enough loungers and the usual issue of towels draped to save seats and no people ever actually using the seats.No smoking policy completely ignored by many guests and not enforced by staff. Spending time at the pool resulted in breathing in second hand [... read more] cigarette smoke no matter where you sat...disgusting! Our room had a leak from the AC on the third night and maintenance was sent to repair it. On the 5th night we had water pouring from the ceiling at 4am. We had to threaten to sleep in the lobby before they agreed to move us. In our original room we were assigned a king and pullout for 2 adults and a child. The pullout was stuck and it took considerable force to open. No bedding or pillows at all for the pullout and no coverlet for the bed. It took almost 2 days and multiple requests to get bedding. My husband slept on the pullout with no pillow, no sheets and the only bath towel we were given, as a blanket. Our second room had a fully made pullout including a memory foam mattress pad. Some rooms get, some rooms don't, very inconsistent. The best entertainment during the week was the Silver Birds steel drum band. We have seen them twice before and still thoroughly enjoy their show. Amazing performers! Overall we had a great week because we were with family but the issues with the room did take away from the enjoyment and relaxation of the week. It shouldn't be expected that you pay that much for a vacation and end up sleepless and stressed out.

Disappointed

Check in was very smooth,but after that things went down hill.We arrived just after 4pm went to our room,had no blanket on bed,It took 3 phone calls to the lobby for them to finally bring one to our room(11pm)! The attitude from the front desk woman was very nonchalant,she proceeded to tell me she doesn't use a blanket on her bed. The room was very dated,there was paint splatters on all the doors,ring marks on the counters that left stains,the tub was full of cracks. The grounds were nicely kept.Most staff very friendly some not! The entertainment was a joke! The beach was horrible,it was not inviting at all. So all in all I definitely will not be returning and will not recommend this resort. This was certainly not a 5 star resort.

Amazing resort

Excellent food and house keeping services. We were only there for a few days but the stay was very relaxing. The resort store had everything we needed and even went out of their way to locate a phone charger from another resort when I needed a new one. The house keeping staff did an amazing job in the rooms and the meals were excellent

Amazing Resort

This was our first time in Jamaica and absolutely loved this resort! The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The pools and beaches are beautiful and clean. Food was great, something for everyone. We had no problems getting into any of the restaurants for our meals. The many bars were all well stocked and staff were generous with their pours! Our Concierge Jermaine was fabulous - so helpful in every way, he was always available when we needed him. We highly recommend the Grand Palladium!

Great resort - would go back!

This was my 2nd time in Jamaica, and 8th time staying at an all-inclusive resort and I can honestly say it was one of the best resorts I’ve stay at. This review is long but will paint an accurate picture. Check-in – seamless. There was a bit of a long wait on the airport transfer bus before heading to the resort, but once we got to the resort the check-in was very quick and we were greeted with a welcome drink. Room – We got what we requested – a beachside ocean view room with a ki [... read more]ng bed near the other couple we were traveling with. We were in Villa 33, which was right by the adult pool and adult beach. The room was beautiful, clean, had a great view, and we had great housekeeping each day. The only issue was that the bathtub was not usable - it leaked water everywhere and made a horrible loud noise when draining that we're sure must have disturbed our neighbours, so we did not use it again. Pools – The adult pool is open until 10pm so we were able to do some late-night dips after dinner. The main pool is gorgeous, and we never had any trouble finding loungers for all 4 of us. The staff at the swim-up bar were very friendly and made excellent drinks! Around the main pool there are lots of staff around offering to get you drinks so you don’t have to go up to get a drink which is nice. Beach – What was truly unique about this resort is that you have ocean on both sides of the resort. Just walking to the restaurants/pools, the ocean is within view. A lot of other resorts you have to go to the beach to see the ocean, but here you can enjoy ocean views in many places on the resort. There are also several different beaches, including an adult beach. At the far beach you can rent snorkelling equipment, catamarans, kayaks, etc. Highly recommend the snorkeling! We went snorkeling off resort with 2 different excursions and we saw way more fish and coral on our own beach. We saw lobster, squid, sting rays, and tons of different fish! This was a real highlight for us. Restaurants – All 4 of us found the food amazing here. For breakfast there are lots of options available so even though it is the same breakfast each day, you can change it up. The omelette and crepe stations are worth a few visits! We often had breakfast at the Blue Lagoon which overlooks the main pool – great view! For lunch we never went to the buffet – we usually went to the jerk huts which had great jerk pork and chicken – or we went to Poseidon for (they have good fish tacos!). Miss Lou’s Bar is a must – they make delicious desserts and specialty coffees. There was always lots of comfortable seating. For dinner, we went to the a la carte restaurants each night. They were all good, but we especially enjoyed the Xaimaica (Jamaican), Bhogali (Indian), and Sumptuori (teppanyaki). We never had to wait very long and if we did have to wait, there was always a bar to grab drinks while we waited. It was nice not having to make reservations. Entertainment – There is WIFI all over the resort which was very convenient. They have an app that has all the information you need – what day time and night time activities are going on and where, which restaurants are open and their menus, etc. There were lots of activities to join and a show each evening. Most people gathered in the Infinity bar in the evenings. Even though there were lots of people we always found seating. Services – They were always very quick to deal with any issue that arose. One day the lock on our friend’s door wasn’t working and within 10 minutes security was there and fixed it. And on the last day, our safe was not opening and we needed to get our passports out to check out. We called reception and security was there in 5 minutes and got us into the safe. These things can happen anywhere, and the important thing is that they are on top of it and resolve issues quickly. Overall, we had an amazing time at this resort. We had been getting nervous after seeing some of the negative reviews, but our experience was nothing but positive all around and we were all very happy we chose to stay here!

Resort is massive

Just returned after our 10 day vacation. The resort is massive but beautiful. 1-check in is very slow,this could be improved.tired after long trip then having to wait an hr fir checkin. 2-if you have a mobility issue this might be a problem. Lots of walking.they do have a shuttle service but not always there when u need it. 3-benches. Why are there not more benches u dear the covered walkway. It you have to walk beware no place to sit for a bit. 4- bench at every villa would be great while [... read more] waiting for a shuttle. Not everyone is in good physical health. 5-coffee bar up a flight of stairs. Too bad they didn’t have a little coffee place closer to pool or even in lobby,. 6-rooms are dated.could use a facelift. Tiles cracked,bathroom outdated. 7-dessert on buffet same every day. Nothing fancy. 8-evening entertainment is great. 9-get rid of the casino. Machines not working and they are frim 1970. Not worth going in. This area could be a nice cafe instead. I expected more for the amount of money we spent. Lot of variety at the buffet.waitstaff is great,friendly and happy. Food not hot. All employees are just so friendly,helpful. Beware! Upon checkout we had a $255 U S charge to our room which was not ours. We couldn’t get a pass to go on bus until they investigated. It was so stressful,waited 2 hrs for our pass. So there scamers on resort,takes your name and room number. And charge to you. It’s too bad,left a bad impression. When we needed something,housekeeping came very soon. Lots and lots of walking..so think before you book here,

Beautiful Resort!

Stunning resort with incredible pools, gorgeous beach with fine white sand and blue waters. Rooms are very roomy but a bit dated and the finishes are not perfect, but the service throughout the resort was excellent, very friendly and polite staff, always happy and helpful! Food was good, especially at the Italian restaurant (Poseiden) and seafood restaurant, but lobster and premium seafood were at additional costs. The other a la carte restaurants were average. We stayed at the Lady Hamilton (the adjoining adult, sister hotel) and it was beautiful. Highly recommend this hotel.

Very Dissapointed

This was my third time to this resort, and will be my last. I was very dissatisfied with to line ups at every resturant. We made reservations for a particular one, and upon arrival were told we had to be on the outside terrace, rather than inside where it was cold and comfortable chairs. We looked in the resturant only to fine half the tables empty. When we questioned why we couldn't be inside, we were told that they were reserved for members that may or may not show up. We arrived one morning for breakfast, and waited in line only to be told that the resturant was full, and we would have to wait until a table freed up. Then we were told that another location was open for breakfast, so we left the front of the line to try the other location. Once we arrived, we found it wasn't open and would not be open all day. We have now lost our place in line and ended up not getting breakfast that morning. When we arrived at approximately 12:30, we were told our room was not ready and that check-in was at 3:00. This is not a problem for us, as we totally understand, so we said we would go to the lounge and wait. At 3:00 we went to the check-in only to find out the room still isn't ready. We were with two other couples that were in the same building, so we asked that if we went to one of there rooms to wait, could they send the pass key to their room. No problem, they would do that. after repeated calls to the front desk, we finally had to go down to the front desk and get the pass key to our room around 5:30. I would not only not recommended this place, but would discourage anyone that is considering it. As I said, this was my third time here. The first time was excellent without any issues. This last time was plagued with issues. NEVER AGAIN.

A beautiful sunny vacation

Jamaica was a destination that I had wished to visit for years... Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations!!! :( Montego Bay has little to no beach... Unfortunately, I hadn't looked into this more in depth as I assumed there were nice beaches everywhere.. my bad. The rooms were beautiful and freshly renovated. The multiple a la carte restaurant looked wonderful but were really a struggle to get into.. Was not really fun with young children therefore we ended up spending lots of time in the buffet which had the same thing every day but was a mix of a bunch of different things. My child loved the waterpark but I really believe that there should have been more supervision from the lifeguards who spent their time looking around and chatting with each other. I therefore spent most of my time seated by the pool watching my child play. The evening shows were amazing!!!! Very talented staff dancing, gymnastics and singing!! A BIG WOW to the evening entertainment team!!! In conclusion, happy that I made it out to Jamaica, but will definitely hit a different destination next time!

Fantastic resort and Staff

Really a nice place. The rooms were spacious. Lots of cove beaches and activities. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was amazing with lots of variety in the buffets as well as the 7 or 8 a la carte restaurants.
