Good experience

Great experience! Our family had a great time. This is more of a family friendly resort. Fun is the centre of all resort attractions. A lot of corridor noise from the room so we’d wake up purely from carts passing by or people taking the elevator down the hall etc. other than that, we had a wonderful experience

Overall, great resort

The resort was very beautiful and calming. So much to do and the food was amazing. The beach had a lot of seaweed during the time we were there, though that's just the way it is sometimes. We were very happy with everything offered at the hotel and how clean it was. The staff at the entire resort were SO kind, friendly and generous. Everyone was welcoming. I'd say the only downside to such a nice resort is that, because there are (SO!!) many weddings, it can be noisy at night when you're trying [... read more] to sleep. Some wedding parties party around their rooms after, making it not as calming when you try and sleep. We had to turn our fan on and use ear plugs to sleep through it some nights. But luckily this didn't happen every night.

Amazing Resort!

Dream Riviera Cancun was fabulous, checking in and out was wonderful and fast. The Service and Grounds where 5*Star. Our room was very clean and the decor was beautiful (Tropical). Food was also great.

Resort Really Nice

The resort was really amazing, pools were awesome. Rooms were are great size, plenty of room. Plunge pools nice, but not necessarily needed. All restaurants were great. Only downside was the beach lots of seaweed. Would not take a connecting flight or west jet every again.

I wanted to love it! But I liked it!

Dreams Riviera Cancun Travelled as a family, myself and husband and two children (2.5 and 5years old) First time travelling with the kids after many trips to Mexico. Beautiful grounds. Spacious and comfortable room. Beds and pillows were great. *wait service in the buffet and restaurants we always found great. Everyone was kind. What surprised me the most was the food. I didn’t love it! I expected more from a 5 star resort. We went to the buffet and wondered where the rest of it was. Small with little selection. The basics were there. We didn’t go hungry and what we ate was fine - we were just never wowed. The restaurants were just ok. Skip the tacos at the Mexican restaurant. They weren’t good. We’ve stayed at other chains with far better food and selection. I def expected more from Dreams in this area. Because of the food, I likely would return to this resort if we found an amazing deal. The good outweighed the bad. We had a great week with loads of family time by the pools. I think the resort expects everyone to eat at the restaurants in the evening but this isn’t always ideal with kids. More variety and selection in the buffet would put you a step above. Good resort

We traveled with our toddler. It was close to the airport. The resort was small which I really enjoyed. The pools where amazing for accommodating all needs. The food was ok. I defiantly expect better food in Mexico. I wanted fresh amazing fish and guacamole and it wasn’t often found. The rooms were huge and clean. We had booked a king bed and we were very disappointed when we got there and received very tiny double beds. They said we “requested a king”. We were also told we receiv [... read more]e $200 in a resort credit, they give you a discount book and high pressure tactics to have you book treatments. The staff was very friendly, however I felt a lot of pressure to tip. Overall I enjoyed the resort but my husband did not.

Excellent resort

the hotel was very beautiful and well kept. the food in the restaurants, including the buffet was top notch. the buffet closed after a couple of days, due to what we heard was a water leaking problem ( don't really know for sure) but the other restaurants picked up the slack very well. drinks were good, rooms and room service were very good. we went on the ' room of the day deal'... which really meant two double beds. they wanted to charge us extra for a king size bed, which was kind of odd [... read more]... so i would confirm- not just request a king size bed if we you go. Like all the resorts on this part of Mexico, they have a seaweed problem, but they seemed to handle cleaning the beach every day well. Other than that the beach was very good, service on the beach was very good and although you needed to get up early to reserve a beach or pool chair, there always seemed to be enough. The French restaurant was by far our favourite- went 3 times. the lobster, scallops and escargot appetizers we amazing, as was their steak. Wine was so-so, but drinkable. The concierge and front desk people were very helpful. We needed some medicine from the local pharmacy and they got if for us right sway. The cleaning and turndown room staff were always on time and did a great job. The one suggestion I would make is that there should be an adults only pool. Otherwise the place is great and we wished we had stayed longer.

Great vacation at Dreams Riviera Cancun

This resort is one of the better ones that we have stayed at over the years and we have been to many. Food great, service and staff very supportive and friendly. The room (deal of the day room) was comfortable. Only downside was that the buffet restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay, which we sometimes prefer rather than the more formal a-la carte restaurants. Also at times the pool and beach area was rather crowded, but then that is to be expected when travelling during peak sea [... read more]son. We would return to a Dreams resort again.

Wonderful Family Vacation

We traveled as a family of four for one week to Dreams. We absolutely loved it. The room was always clean as was the whole resort. Food choices were abundant and room service was a very nice added bonus. The kids loved the pools and Explorers Club. We will definitely be back to Dreams.

Restful stay

Dreams is a nice small resort with everything very handy. Rooms are decent size however beds a bit hard. Great beach and lovely pool. Never a problem getting chairs and staff are great. For a five star resort we expected more from the food. Terrible buffet with limited choices. Other 5star (and less) have carvery stations while Dreams simply had carved meat (and scarce at that) under hot lights. Disappointing. Breakfast at beach was by far the best meal, and lunch at beach was good as well. [... read more] A few of the restaurants were good but the majority was never quite hot. For this reason I would not go back. Entertainment was limited as well. For these reasons I give it only a 4 star.

Dreams

Hotel was good. Rooms good. Food just ok. Longer hours would be better with kids wanting to eat earlier than 6pm and before 8am. Beach was very good and pools where great. Staff was friendly and helpful

Amazing Dreams Riviera cancun resort and spa

Great place to spend some quality time here with your family. Courteous staff always willing to assist. Lots of activities and restaurants to visit within this all inclusive resort Also loved speed boating and snorkeling excursions outside the resort. Always pack some extra time when you come to this resort.

Okay trip not the best!

We hadn’t gone on vacation in six years.. We chose to go with Dreams Riveira Cancún Resort & Spa. Not the greatest stay.. food was very blan, always the same choices not many variety. Entertainment team wasn’t the greatest lack of popular music needed to be played. They mostly played jazz everyday at the pool, when we at least expected Latin music to be played. Don’t plan on going back to this resort mostly because the food was not the greatest!!

It doesn't get much better that this

Whether you a family or a couple, this resort caters to both. Young family pool area, entertainment pool and an adult pool and swim up bar by the ocean. Multiple theme dining experiences and great evening entertainment.

Wonderful resort

The resort was well maintained, the grounds were taken care of every morning, plenty of food options. I loved the fact you didn’t need to wear a resort bracelet and there was plenty of lounges around the pool areas and on the beach. The young entertainment staff had so much energy, they kept busy with various activities, volleyball, water aerobics and then helped out with running the evening entertainment as well.

Amazing Resort

The rooms were huge and comfortable , two double beds a Jacuzzi and a hot tub on the balcony cw ocean front view . The food was excellent and they add theme restraunts ex Mexican , japenese , ect for expanding your culture. Dreams resorts employees are very curtious and would due about anything to please you , they put there whole heart in their tasks from the front desk to the maid.The ocean has soft white sand and is cleaned daily ,three pools clean and heated.My granddaughters found lots of [... read more] activities rock climbing,painting,braided hair,ect.We will return someday for SURE!

Great resort

A great resort in all areas! The food was great with lots of selection and lots of choices to eat. Very clean and well kept up resort. Rooms are spacious and maid service during the day and turn down service was impeccable. Lots of bars everywhere you walked with great selection of drinks. Bar tenders were great and most remembered what you drank and had it ready before you reached the bar. The only down side is the resort is trying to go smokeless and have limited areas to smoke but really only [... read more] enforced in lobby area. It was the talk of a lot of guest there and I do my research before I book a vacation and there was no mention of this including westjet vacations. If I’d known I would of booked another resort. Hallways are loud because of tile floors but this is common and if you are a light sleeper as i am bring ear plugs!!! Other then that a truly great resort. Will I return no but only because of there smoking policy

Not as great as Expected

Overall the food was good and plentiful. Some of the higher end items from 18 months ago were no longer offered—tomahawk steak and Greygoose as examples. The pool areas are small overall and the infinity pool was partiallly blocked off for renovations which included the swim up bar, one of the restaurants and a set of washrooms that made it very inconvenient. The rooms have an open concept washroom which is not ideal when sharing with older children. Zero privacy. Also beds were doubles and [... read more] not queens which makes sleeping a challenge. The grounds were well kept but it is a smaller resort so in general too confining for us. Overall the staff was great so no complaints there. A lot of better resorts to go to for the money. Will definitely not be back.

Beautiful Resort, but area is dangerous

This resort is quite beautiful and immaculate. Pros: staff, service, cleanliness, pools, family friendly with great activities. Large sandy beach. Cons: food quality was sometimes poor, remote location, weddings and loud nightly music. Jellyfish stings when ocean is rough. Rise in violent crime throughout Cancun and Riviera.

Great resort and service

The Dreams Riviera Cancun is a great resort. Its a great layout , not too small or too big. Food and service was very good . Rooms were nice and spacious and very clean. Overall a great resort and I would definitely recommend this resorts to friends and family.
