Beautiful Honeymoon Resort

It was our first time at Secrets St James and we can’t wait to be able to go back! The property is stunning, the staff were very kind, and the amenities were incredible. This was an unbelievable honeymoon and we owe so much of that to the resort and staff. Would highly recommend this resort!!

The hotel itself was nice. Staff were Rude. Bar service was very slow. No buffet for dinner. Food was too high end. Beach was clean. Resort was clean. Pool and most of the resort closed at 7pm not enough evening entertainment

Secret St. James--a must return trip!!!

This was my second visit to Secret St. James in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I absolutely love this resort. Always, upfront, I must commend the staff--they make this hotel what it is. I have shared my thoughts with everyone I speak with who asks--and even when the don't ask (smile), what a wonderful group of people and resort this is. I want to say a special thanks to Chef Wright at the Blue Mountain Restaurant for taking the time and effort to make my dinning time extra special—the fried fish was awesome (I boasted to everyone about my special treatment (smile). Secret St. James in Jamaica--A Must Return!!

The Great Escape!

Beautiful resort! Scenic views. The sunset is incredible. The people were amazing! Boyd......James Bond..... Carla....... the whole volleyball crew! Great service. Friendly. Accomadating. Great for a relaxing, luxurious vacation.

Adults only resort

This resort was smaller than some of the others I've been to. Beach was the best in Montego Bay out of the four different resorts I've been to there. The room was lovely ,great location. Wonderful friendly staff,everywhere on resort. There was lots of dining options. However,my husband was disappointed as there was no dinner buffet I loved the outdoor entertainment stage. Great atmosphere

Secret's St James

Surprised at the mini bar, only had a few beers, pop and water. Mini bar wasn't working (warm) and no bathrobes in the room. Called the front and they put in new fridge. Had to talk to the cleaning lady to get bathrobes.They tried a hard aggressive sell on packages for other resorts. There was 15 of us and we felt a little rushed at some restaurants even though they were half empty. Sent food back a couple of times to be warmed up.The bartenders at the pool bars were excellent.

Great Resort Not a Fan of the Food

The resort itself was nice, quaint, and very well maintained. I really liked how you could use both resorts - Secrets St James and Wild Orchid and actually you’re never able to differentiate between the two since you can walk freely between them. They also provided us with access to the preferred club, which now having been there I think is a must have. The activities were good, there was enough to do to keep ourselves well occupied or for that matter just hang out at the various beaches and [... read more] pools enough so that we were sufficiently bored, rested and ready to come home at the end of the week. The best part of the 2 resorts has to be the care and thoughtfulness of the staff. It reflected well that the staff really went out of their way to constantly make sure that you are having a great time and are being well looked after. I can think of many instances where a staff member went what I would consider much out of their way to assist. The bad though was the food. Not sure if my expectations were out of line, but the food quality was nowhere near what I would have expected from a four diamond resort.

Very nice staff, good services, but not a luxury resort

Overall, the people working at the resort was very nice, but if you are looking for a luxury resort with good food/drinks and luxury amenities, this is not the resort. The people working at the resort work very hard, but the quality is just not there and it is not their fault.

Outstanding Resort

We had a wonderful time and experience at Secrets St. James; we could not of asked for anything that was not already provided, the service and people were amazing. The resort itself was immaculately kept, the rooms excellent.

Excellent Resort

We loved this resort, it had everything you could possibly want in a vacation. Our room was great, large with a jacuzzi both in the room and another one on the balcony, the bed was very comfortable, the food was great, there were plenty of chairs on the beach. The grounds were very well maintained with sprinkler systems and daily gardening. It was great that you didn't have to make reservations for the restaurants (except the Japenese) which meant you didn't have to stand in reservation lines t [... read more]o be told they were all booked, you just showed up at the retaurant and sometimes waited but you were given a beeper and could go off and have drinks while waiting. The staff at the resort were very friendly and accommodating. We had the preferred club so enjoyed going there for breakfast and snacks throughout the day. The jerk chicken cart was a daily highlight. We enjoyed the padel boarding and kayaking which was included. The only thing I thought was missing was a place to play cards at night, most places were either too dark or there were bars without table areas for that sort of think. I would love to see at least one elyptical in the gym as well. This was our 4th time to Jamaica and our first time at this resort but we are going back to St. James on our next trip.

Loved it!

This is a great resort! Beautiful beaches and large pools. There are lots of choices for restaurants and you are not stuck with one option for lunch like some other places. The menus have lots of variety and the food is above average. The staff everywhere is very friendly. Although all inclusive means all tips and gratuities included, I noticed that most people tip. Also maybe be hard to find a spot on the beach is you are not up by 8 am.

Was an amazing resort.

The hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly. Both pools and lounging areas were awesome. Bartenders, waiters and waitresses were amazing and we had excellent service by all. It was just overall a very nice, friendly resort. Had an excellent holiday.

Top Notch

Overall not a bad thing to say. The resort is labeled a 4.5 star i would love to know what criteria makes a resort a 5 because there wasn't anything bad to say about this place. Rooms, food, beach, pools staff all amazing. I don't think there was a blade of grass out of place. *****

Beautiful resort!

Everything at secrets St James was amazing! The food was exceptional and service was better than I have experienced at other resorts. All the employees go out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. A big thanks to Marvin the bartender, he was so nice and friendly and every night made me a special desert drink which was so tasty!! The grounds were kept beautiful and people there worked very hard. I can't wait to go back! Thank you for making this a fantastic vacation!!

Incredible Resort!

This resort was gorgeous! The beaches were beautiful, pools were lovely, numerous and clean. The service is exceptional - everyone is very friendly and always ready to help. Regarding the food, something that we didn't realize until half way through our stay, is that dinners are a la carte every single night. We were used to resorts where you are given a limited number of a la carte meals. The rooms were so beautiful and modern. I honestly enjoyed every single aspect of this trip. Lovely resort!

The grounds were lovely. The room was well designed but slightly worn. All the services and staff were most pleasant except that the room was never made up before four pm if at all and the turn down service was usually after our bedtime. The entertainment might have been good but we found it started to late for us to care. The beach was great for swimming and the food was good. Overall we had a great retreat and rest.

A+++ Resort

My husband and I fell in love with this resort as soon as we got there. We were welcomed with smiles, hot towels, and a cold refreshing drink! This is truly a 5 star resort from the exceptional services , delicious food, premium drinks, beautiful grounds and the most amazing king size bed. It was like sleeping on a cloud!! We highly recommend this resort!! We will be going back!!

Great Resort. Beautiful beach.Amazing food. Loved the fact that you didn't need to make a reservation at the restaraunts. Entertainment was so fun especially rhe Silent Disco. Staff was very pleasant. Had to call front desk twice to fill fridge. Overall amazing resort. Had a great time. Love Jamaica.

Spectacular resort, absolutely beautiful :-)

The hotel and service were superb! Not having to make reservations for the restaurants was so nice and there was always availability, rarely had to wait and the food was fantastic with lots of variety for all. Not having to wear a wrist band at the resort, no cards for pool/beach towels was a bonus.
