Very beautiful resort
The workers made it really comfortable. I enjoyed my stay. My kids can not wait to come back! Shows were amazing, the kids loved the kids club. The beach had a lot of seaweed so we couldn’t see it. Thank you

Has great potential!
My husband and I attended this resort together. It’s a family friendly resort but the price was right so we went anyway 😠The resort is very spacious and has many unique qualities. It has its own coffee house, ice cream shop, a ruin!, dolphin show - you can even pay to swim with them. A lazy river that was a lot of work for me lol. Wildlife is around and they have descriptions everywhere explaining what they are. They are very eco friendly - no straws, reusable glasses, change sheets and to[... read more]wels every two to three days unless it’s necessary to do so before. The rooms are cleaned daily, the resort itself, well maintained. They were removing the seaweed daily, it was very hard work but they did it. The shops in the lobby were great - they only take pesos, so we would have to charge to the room then go pay at reception. There’s a shop in the middle of the resort where they sell locally made, beautifully crafted items. They take US dollars. We’re Canadian but brought US money. Here’s where we had issues and not all of them are the resorts issues but it reflects badly and I can not think of any way to resolve them. Here we go...the staff. My husband and I have travelled to many resorts all over the Caribbean, West Indies, South America and Mexico and I feel that I’m a pretty good judge of people. 4 people stood out to us during our stay. Louanne from the spa - phenomenal! She actually came down to the pool, talked to people, gave great sample massages and booked quite a few of us. It didn’t end there though. Every time we saw her, she remembered us, asked us how we were feeling, took a few seconds. She made us feel like more than just a massage. More than just a face. The second person, our concierge, Ivan. Super guy. He explained things to us, helped us figure things out. Talked to us. He was so accommodating. Felt more like a friendship than anything. He seemed genuinely happy to see us. We feel that Louanne and Ivan could teach the entire staff a lot in regard to customer service. Even if it’s just on how to be pleasant. The other two people were the coffee house girls, the ones that worked most of our week there. They couldn’t speak English well and our Spanish is not great but we managed to all be understood and they were great. Can I mention also the cookies at the coffeehouse??!? They are amazing!! We normally build a relationship with the staff at the buffet and at the restaurants. This did not happen here. It’s not that they were rude, they weren’t but there were no smiles, no greeting. It was disorganized mostly. Nothing made sense. Only on the Mexican night were we seated. No one greets you at the door - They stand there or they talk to each other but you walk in and find a seat. I would go get my dinner or lunch or breakfast while my husband waited at the table then I ate while he went and I would get dessert while he ate. We basically ate alone. Having the staff seat you, you know no one will steal your seat. They had welcome drinks outside on a few nights but they were there for the taking. They should be handed out while being greeted and then you should be taken to your seat. The buffet was all over the place, I think I missed a lot of stuff lol. It was good food though. Service was also slow - when it came to drinks and taking plates away. And the staff, they didn’t really look you in the eye. Not sure if it’s because they don’t know English well and were maybe afraid we’d ask something or if they were shy, but they need confidence instilled in them. Hey, I work with the public and I know it can be tough but it’s your job. You’re representing your company. You’re the face of grand sirenis .... no matter the day your having you gotta wear a smile for shift because these people have saved all year to come to your resort to escape whatever goes on in their regular lives to be pampered for one week and you have the opportunity to help make their lives a little bit better. Doesn’t matter if their kids are brats, their spouses are drunk, they’re drunk...it’s only a second out of your job but it could turn their whole day around. I recommend customer service training. We went to two a la carte restaurants, we cancelled the third. The steak house was good. My steak was a bit fatty but it was good. The Brazilian...not our favourite. The service was so so slow. The meat was either fatty, burnt or dry. Our waiter didn’t serve it right either. There’s a specific way it should be sliced and served...they need to learn that. The soup though...cream corn shrimp...omg...the absolute best! The elevator didn’t work a lot of the time and when you need to change US dollars to pesos, you need that elevator lol. Also the buffet was up there and after having walked so far to get there...last thing I wanna do is climb stairs. It was exercise, I’ll give you that but geez Louise.... 😠The sports bar. There’s a word there... bar. In no way, shape or form should a child be any where near a place with the word bar in it unless it’s an ice cream bar. The sports bar was filled with kids. All around the pool tables. No parents. I understand people are on vacation and it’s a family resort but aside from the kids club, parents still need to be responsible for their kids. There’s no vacation from your children unless you leave them at home. I saw a little boy drinking pool water and finally the mom came in, I thought finally! She gave him another cup!! What the flip!! That was our first day...we discovered the quiet pool day two. Kids would bring lazy river floaties in there and jump in - parents said nothing. No one monitors the pools. The pool wasn’t cleaned for two and a half days. No jets were on the one day. Then 2 men came in what looked like hazmat suits to test the pools. That was scary...we joked about it but I’m still a bit nervous. Some of the children were so messy and inconsiderate, dropping ice cream, breaking plates, splashing, throwing things while people were floating... I don’t know how to rectify this other than to post signs, have restricted areas, adults only areas where children have no place being. This resort has so much going for it but it’s just shy of missing the mark. It has such great potential to be so much better than it is. On the other hand, it was nice seeing that some families were actually there enjoying their time together. My granddaughter, I’m sure would love it there and it might be a different experience for us having her there. The question below asks if I would recommend the hotel to a friend. I’m saying no but if it was a friend with children I think I would.

Exceeded expectations!
We had an amazing vacation and enjoyed every minute with our family. The food was on point.
First stop each morning was the coffee bar followed by fresh crepes and croissant at the breakfast buffet. Selection at the buffet was beyond amazing with so many delicious choices. The a la carte restaurants also do not disappoint. Our kids loved the ice cream bar and multiple trips around the lazy river every day. We met so many nice people around the pool and enjoyed lots of cocktails and cervezas fr[... read more]om Carlos at the swim up bar. All staff we interacted with was beyond friendly; from the shuttle drivers and concierge staff to the cleaners and ground keepers. Our room was in the perfect location and was very nice and clean. We would go back to this resort in a second and we highly recommend this resort for your family. The entrainment staff are friendly and put big effort into fun activities around the pool and the shows each night. There was a lot of seaweed and they worked hard everyday to keep it under control. The beach isn't long but the kids had fun snorkeling. We had perfect weather for our entire vacation.

Great Resort and Services!
Almost everything was fabulous!
Our concierge was the bomb! Thank you Diego!
The food and services were all great, the waves were high which caused somewhat poor beach conditions but overall still really good at the lazy river and the pool bar!
I would recommend it to others!

GOOD VACATION
From the airport the resort is far about 45-1hr car ride. The hotel is safe and very clean.
Very family oriented, had a kid water park with small and bigger slides. 3 pools. Very large resort, there is a good bit of walking.
The people are extremely nice and do things for you without having to ask, they do not wait around for a tip or ask. I have never been to an all inclusive resort that I didn't feel the pressure of tipping, but more than anything, it makes you feel that you want to give.[... read more]

Great resort
The resort was very large. We got lost a few times but managed to find what we were looking for eventually. The food at the buffet was good, with a vast variety. The a la carte restaurants were excellent. The beach was beautiful . The ocean was a little rocky but only close to the shore. I had a wonderful massage on the beach. I would definately go back.

Grand siren is Mayan beach
Grand Siren is afaboulas resort, the rooms were large and very nice. There was three beautiful pools you could choose from and they have a children’s pool also which I think was very nice for the family if they didn’t want to stay at the bigger pools. The resort was very clean and well lit at night. People working there were very professional and attentive to our needs.

Wonderful resort
We were impressed the minute we walked in! The resort is large and spacious and is extremely clean!!! I’ve travelled to many distananious and this was by far the best! The customer service was exceptional, from the front desk to the building representatives to the hard working restaurant and pool-servers.

Great Resort!
The Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach was a wonderful resort. We went for a week in November 2018. Overall, I would recommend this resort to any of my family or friends. Rooms were clean and nice looking, staff were very helpful and friendly, swimming pools wre very nice, I liked that there was always enough lounge chairs available by the pool and beach. The food was fair, both my spouse and daughter got sick near the end of our week.

If you love the beach, don't go to this hotel
Great Resort, awesome pools, buffet tries to cater to everyone, so big variety, little flavor, but still good.
Staff are great. The only issue, is that if your a beach person, this resort is not for you.
The seaweed is MASSIVE, words cannot express how much is on the beach.
You will not be able to enter the water.
The other truth no one tells you is that the seaweed stinks. You can actually smell it well into the resort. On top of this, the resort had to literally carve away their bea[... read more]ch in order to stop the seaweek coming up on shore. This leaves the little beach that's left with very rough, coarse sand. Again, not the hotels fault, (mother nature, global warming, who knows) but they can't really keep up with cleaning the beach. The other natural beach this resort has is protected due to sea turtles, so it's a disaster too.

Nice resort
The place wasn't bad. there's a small beach to swim. I prefer if they put more authentic Mexican food in the buffet. The room was recently renovated we love it. The Ala carte restaurants were okay. The Thai resto I won't recommend.
The concierge are very very helpfull and always available particularly Guillermo n Juan Guillermo. I would go back.

Grand Sirenis Maya Beach resort
The resort is Large and spread out. I liked it for this reason as it never felt crowded.
The grounds are nice and well maintained. There was seaweed that would wash up on shore; some days more than others. However, the workers would be out there every day raking it up.There is a reef you can snorkel from the beach and see lots of different types of fish and corals. The water was clear most days for snorkeling but there were a couple of days where it was not. The Beach itself is not large, but[... read more] the drink service was great. Pool drink service was slower. There is a lazy river, a quiet pool and a party pool.
Room was clean, bed was soft and comfy, A/C was nice and cold, fridge was restocked daily, the maid left a different towel animal on the bed each day. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. Lobby bar had the best drinks. Overall had a great time there.

Fantastic resort!!
We do like the hotel but it is a little too big for us. The rooms were nice and totally loved the soaker tub and jets.Great for soaking in after a long day in the sun The food is fantastic.
We spent an afternoon at the spa which was amazing, totally worth it! The hydrotherapy was so fun and relaxing.
Grrat place for families as there were lots of kids...of all ages!
This was our second time there.

Resort was beautiful!
The rooms on the resort were very clean and the grounds very well maintained. We were disappointed with the beach due to the seaweed that came in on a daily basis. While the resort worked to remove the seaweed, it created a smell every morning during removal which was not pleasant. In addition, the main pool was closed due to renovation in which we were not advised. Otherwise, the staff and service were excellent. Almost perfect!!
The resort is beautiful. The rooms were large and very clean. The food was above expectations. The service was friendly and staff went out of their way to be helpful. The shows were excellent. There were a few drawbacks. The pool that was closest to our rooms was shut down for the week. The beach was covered in seaweed. They had crews working all day every day to clean it up. This was out of the resorts control. I have a bad ankle and would have liked a ride to the lobby from our rooms and to th[... read more]e beach. The golf carts were supposed to be on a schedule to do pickups at certain locations. They were on Mexican time or not at all. The golf cart situation was the biggest drawback for me. Patty
