Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Almost perfect resort.

We travelled as a family group of 11 from 3 provinces in Canada and had a great time. The food was good and the beach was kept pretty clear of sargassum. I use a mobility walker and found it easy to get everywhere including the beach. There were a few areas that left room for improvement. It would be better if there was more than one spot to get beach towels and also they need more towels because they seemed to run out frequently. An app to book a la cartes would have been a better way to  [... read more]go. The system they have made it difficult to get bookings. And lastly, we didn't like that there weren't doors between the living area, bedroom and bathroom. There was no privacy to get changed after showering. Ok if you are travelling as a couple but not ideal if you are travelling with children or friends.

Villas HM Paraiso Del Mar: All good!

Everything was wonderful: a wonderful beach, excellent hotel rooms. The food was also okay. Not a huge selection, but the quality and preparation were good. One small drawback: every food order, every drink, required a signature on the receipt stating that you weren't charged. It was a bit unnerving at first, even though the package said it was all-inclusive. We've never encountered that anywhere else.

AVA Resort Cancun: AVA Resort Cancun Review (May 22–26)

In May, I organized a group trip to AVA Resort Cancun for 10 friends and family members. Since several people in our group had never experienced an all-inclusive resort before, I wanted to choose a property that would showcase the best of what an all-inclusive vacation could offer. Having visited Mexico three times previously and enjoyed excellent experiences, I was excited about AVA, especially since it was a newer resort. The resort is conveniently located only about 10–15 minutes from the airport, making arrival and departure very easy. The property itself is massive, with plenty to see and do. The ambiance is beautifully curated, and the grounds are well maintained. Public spaces, including the coffee shop, ice cream area, and common gathering spaces, were aesthetically pleasing and thoughtfully designed. The rooms were modern and visually appealing, and the resort offered a variety of amenities and activities. However, the downsides became apparent almost immediately. Upon arrival, the lobby was overwhelmed by a very strong perfume scent. After spending time at the resort, I understood why—it appeared to be masking the odor from the large amounts of sargassum seaweed washed up along the shoreline. One of the biggest disappointments was the beach itself. Due to the excessive sargassum, there was essentially no usable beach during our stay, which was unfortunate for a beachfront resort. The saltwater pool was enjoyable and became our preferred place to relax, but the dining experience left much to be desired. Throughout our stay, food was often served cold, both at the buffet and at the specialty restaurants where we had reservations. Because our group was large (10 people), reservation times were limited, often pushing us into very late dining slots. On multiple occasions, we waited an hour or more for our meals after being seated, sometimes not eating until after 10:00 p.m. Another disappointment was the condition of the resort itself. Although only a couple of years old, parts of the property already appeared worn and run down. While there were many amenities available, I was surprised by how many activities and services required additional payment. For a resort positioned as a luxury all-inclusive experience, I expected more to be included in the upfront price. Overall, I would rate AVA Resort a 3 out of 5. While the property is visually impressive and offers plenty of amenities, the food quality, long wait times, beach conditions, and additional charges significantly impacted our experience. For the price point, I do not believe the resort offers enough value, and unfortunately, it is not a place I would return to. If you're considering AVA Resort, it may be worth exploring other all-inclusive options in Cancun that provide a stronger overall experience for a similar price.

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Wonderful Stay at the Majestic- Elegance Club Side

Went in June 2026 with my wife and we had a wonderful stay. Had some some downs, but many ups! Ill break down each section Beach and Pools: Very clean and well maintained. The staff for those areas were great and provided great service. The staff are very clear not to drop your towels to reserve seats by the pool. They will take them. There was lots of  [... read more]space to sit and relax in the sun or the shade. There is an infinity pool where a lot of the club member only people go. Lots of space in the pool and daily activities. Service: We checked in the adults only side. Check in was welcoming fresh towel and drink and whisked away to the adults only section. When we checked in we wanted a king but 2 doubles. They said the resort was completely booked. Still grateful to have a room, they did move our beds together. When we spoke to the butler, they were a little surprised we were told that and the next day they were able to get a room with a king bed. When the bellhop came to deliver our luggage, they asked where we wanted it, they didn't place it there. They kind of then cornered themselves in the far end of the room waiting for a tip taking the slow walk out. We had to get our money first from the bags. Little challenging. When we were able to give the tip, he appeared ungrateful and received a glare. Luckily the butler noticed this and was accommodating. (we try to tip where we can for everything). Everyone else was fantastic. Butler kept us posted with events and activities through whats app. Food: THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! They are very serious about allergies and with my wife being gluten free, there was lots of options. They will also send someone over to go through the menu for you at all the ala carts. If you do room service make sure you mention your allergy. We were able to try a different restaurant everyday and never bored. Be sure to check whats app every day because there is at least one restaurant closed every day. Make sure you hit the coffee bar in the main lobby. Great speciality coffees to have. Rooms: They were spacious and clean and never had any concern or complaints. We were usually back at the room by 330-400 and the rooms were done. You did not feel cramped in the room at all. Value. We felt we got our money worth. They do try to make sure you get the most out of your experience. Just make sure to watch the prices. Location: Great location. Clean beaches, white sand, It was about an hour from the airport. We were shuttled on a bus there, and on the way home, they didn't have enough people to validate the usage of a bus, so they gave a taxi straight back to the airport Overall: We will go back probably one year. This resort is more of a wedding hosting resort. Lots of weddings happening but also enjoyable and comfortable to be at.

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Very pleased with our stay

Our second visit to the Catalonia was even better than our first. The food is great, the room was large and beutiful with a gteat view and the staff were amazing. We ate at the taco stand every lunch. Had avocado toast for breakfast every morning.

Riu Latino: AVERAGE AT BEST

This resort is average at best. It is newer and quite clean. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was prepared nicely and the housekeeping staff always did something special for us. We weren't satisfied with the view even though we paid extra for Ocean View. The view is mainly of the courtyard. To see any of the ocean, you need to go onto your balcony. The air conditioning was very loud and made it difficult to have a restful nights sleep. The food was average and the same al [... read more]most everyday. We didn't go hungry at all. There was a bounty of food and options but limited gluten free. Kulinarium restaurant was not good at all and the power went out for 30 minutes while we were dining there. They asked us to leave without serving us our dinner so we left and then the power came back on so we returned to the restaurant but the staff didn't seem to be so happy. We were not impressed with the meal. The steakhouse was the second worst of the restaurants. It was way too bright and loud inside. The ribeye steak was all fat. The Asian restaurant was a buffet style and we ranked it third worst. We enjoyed our meal at the Milan Italian restaurant and we went back a second time. We never went back to any of the other restaurants. The buffet was a somewhat better option than the restaurants. We enjoyed the lobby bar before our dinners but the mosquitos were terrible at night and made it hard to enjoy a drink or two in the open air lobby. The pools were decent. We enjoyed our time around one of the quiet pools which is right next to the waterslides. It was much quieter than the other pools which tended to get very loud and rowdy as the day progressed. We went down the waterslides once during our stay. It is something different that other resorts don't have. People seemed to enjoy going on them. The landscaping is very sparse. The building itself looks very bland. There is zero character. It felt as though we could literally be anywhere. It was so nondescript. We love going to beaches but not this one. We were charged a beach cleaning fee when checking into the resort that we had to pay by credit card. There was tons of seaweed which they tried to keep cleaning but it just kept accumulating. The tractor would pass by all the time and we would smell the strong gas which polluted the air. Walking from the building to the beach was difficult as we had to walk a very long way through deep soft sand. There were no washrooms by the beach. The ocean had lots of seaweed and actual human feces on more than one occasion. It was so bad that we stopped going to the beach altogether and decided to stay by the pool instead for the rest of our vacation. It was disgusting and shocking...something we have never witnessed before in other resorts in Mexico or anywhere else. We think this Costa Playa Mujeres area has a big problem. The entertainment was average and typical. Nothing really stood out to us. The type of guests at this resort ranged from late teens to elderly but the majority was a younger crowd who liked to party and get wasted. We felt it was very ghetto and trashy at times. We observed many incidents of people getting completely intoxicated and falling down, passing out, needing medical attention, screaming and yelling, being pushed around on wheelchairs, fighting with staff and even the police had to come one evening to deal with guest/staff fights. Overall our time at Riu Latino was not worth remembering. We will certainly not be back. There are so many other places to go which are far better Save your money and go elsewhere.

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Amazing resort!

We had an amazing time during our stay at Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres! We originally booked to attend a friend's wedding, but we were blown away by the beauty and service at the resort. The grounds and buildings were all clean and beautifully decorated. The beach and pools were clean, and we appreciated that there were so many chairs/beds so we had no problems finding spots in a great location every time. The service at the restaurants and bars were excellent. The food was phenomenal! We ap [... read more]preciated having plenty of options for everyone. Every staff member we interacted with were always so helpful, whether it be the excursion information at the towel booths/Go Majestic, or the concierge and check-in staff. We booked on the Adults only Club side and loved our butler, Novelo. He always went above and beyond, ensuring we were taken care of. We are extremely pleased with our stay and can't wait to return!

Riu Dunamar: Family vacation 2026

The experience was terrific right from the very beginning. Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun: Beautiful Resort

Beautiful spot wonderful property and the food was amazing. The golf course and the staff are great. The only thing was the seaweed on the beach, your contract company did a great job cleaning up. Looking forward to our return to the coral resort.

Riu Latino: Fantastic Resort

Our first time at this resort and we loved it. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Our room was a good size and the fridge and bar was well stocked. Lots of food choices and plenty of it, you won't go hungry. Bar services were top notch, and they do not water down the drinks. All the pools were great, and we had no trouble in getting a lounge all week. All the staff were top notch. The nightly shows were fantastic. We highly recommend this resort.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Fantastic Resort!

My Friend and i spend an amazing week at RIU Palace costa Mujeres and loved every minute of it The room 3156 was spacious and bright, comfortable location, easy access to all amenities . Service was top notch , very attentive staff everywhere. The resort itself well maintained and super clean. Food was plenty and good variety, we were not hungry. Delicious drinks at the bar. Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Great Resort

Loved the lazy river. Service was excellent. Food and drinks were mid. Juices were so wateres down?. Loved the ice cream bar! First room we got that was on the ground floor was not clean. Second room we were moved to was much better. Water parks were under maintenance when we were there, found out about a day before the trip, which sucked. Overall I would give the resort a 3 out of 5.

Riu Latino: Wonderful vacation

This was the first time we returned to the same Hotel Riu Latino, Plaja Mujeres. Unable to book online with Tripcentral, we called and asked for assistance. Our travel advisor, Sandra De Faria, was incredibly helpful from start to finish. We truly appreciated her professionalism and her willingness to quickly resolve price issues that occurred during payment. The resort was modern, the staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the food selection was excellent with lots of variety every day at the buffet and specialty restaurants. The beach and pools were beautiful, and there was always entertainment or activities going on. Overall, it was a great value for the price, and we would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.

Haven Riviera Cancun: Fantastic Resort!

We had a wonderful time at the Haven Riviera Cancun! The facilities were excellent, and the service was great! It's the first resort that my husband said we should come back to... While the beach had lots of seaweed, this is to be expected at a resort in this area. There were lots of spaces for loungers, and we never had trouble finding somewhere to sit around the pools.

Riu Latino: Riu Latino

The resort has everything you need, clean and modern rooms, good food, good daytime entertainment and at night. There is a pool for every adult. Quiet and laid back pools or party pools or in between party and laid back. The RIU app is great, informs guests about all the organized activities. I enjoyed the yoga class, dance lessons and abs class. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Riu Palace Kukulkan: Amazing resort

Just came back from 7 amazing days at Riu Palace Kukulkan and everything exceeded expectations! The food was delicious with so many great options every day, the grounds were beautiful and spotless, the rooms were modern and comfortable, and the beach was absolutely stunning. Such a relaxing and fun vacation — would definitely come back!

Live Aqua Cancun: Great Resort

The beach was wonderful and clean. We also liked the location along the beach for long walks Your favourite restaurant was the Hidden Garden. We enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres: Awesome experience Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres (5 stars!)

Our last-minute trip turned out to be the perfect 3 days and 3 nights getaway for my partner and me at Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres. First Impressions: The lobby looked and smelled incredible, which immediately set the tone for a relaxing stay. We were welcomed with mocktails, which was a really nice touch. The only downside was the immediate upselling during check-in - staff strongly encouraged us to upgrade to Prestige/Premium packages and pushed a breakfast discussion even after we poli [... read more]tely declined. Aside from that, the check-in process itself was smooth and efficient. Food: All-inclusive resorts sometimes get a bad reputation for food, but we were pleasantly surprised. Buffet Los Corales offered a wide variety of fresh and flavorful options for breakfast and lunch - definitely check out the fresh fruit section! The coffee shop also became part of our daily routine thanks to the friendly staff and excellent lattes. The à la carte restaurants were overall very good. Our favorite was Margarita for Mexican cuisine, while the Steak House was another standout. Our least favorite experience was at La Locanda (Italian), where we encountered an unusually rude server who incorrectly claimed ginger ale was only included with a Premium package. The risotto there was also meh. Suites: We booked an ocean-view suite, and it was beautifully decorated, spacious, and very clean. The only issue we experienced was inconsistent hot water regulation in our room. A very minor nitpick, but the towels and robes felt rougher than expected for a 5-star resort. Resort Amenities: Although we didn’t participate much in the resort programming, we thoroughly enjoyed the lazy river and swim-up pool bar service. The oceanside loungers and furniture also felt clean and well-maintained. Verdict: Highly recommend! It was our first time visiting Cancun and our first time staying at a 5-star resort, and Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres definitely impressed us.

Riu Palace Kukulkan: Very nice resort

Very nice vacation. Everything was very good, food, service, location, beach, room very clean. I have intentions to return and stay longer at least 10 -14 days, in future, when will be possible for my family.

Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres: Very nice

The resort is very new so is clean and well maintained for obvious reasons. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. Not so sure the Pristige package was worth the extra money. Never ever saw one of our two concierges. Just spoke through messages. The fact that there is no dinner time buffet available thoroughly put me off. When I go on a vacation to get away and relax, I don't want to have to worry about which a la carte I'm eating dinner every day of the week.
