Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit: A wonderfull off-the-beach resort!!

This is an exceptional resort snuggled and hidden in the mountains and hills in Riviera Nayarit. About 2 km in length rather than the usual square or boxed in resorts with the tall buildings. At this resort you can take in the tropical greenery, the birds and the wildlife. Getting around is easy.....either get your excercise by walking 1 or 2 km per day or hop onto the 2 dozen electric go-carts that will wisk you away to the different pools, hot tubs, water park or restaurant. Crown Paradise Golden: Just OK

My description of this resort is that it is quite tired. It could definitely use some updating. When we arrived in our room it appeared clean and older but ok. Then we realized that we had no a/c which we reported right away. They sent someone but it never did get fixed…no a/c in 29/30C heat! The wood on the bathroom door was peeling…a new one is definitely needed. Our entrance door, also should be replaced. There were cracks in the panels so you could see through! Our sink blocked (the f [... read more]irst time we used it, so not from anything that we did) so we reported it and they did fix it. Then the toilet was slow flushing so we reported it. When it was fixed it was too fast and almost shot a geyser when flushed but then there was a very toxic smelling odour coming from the bathroom…we asked for a new room. They accommodated us quickly with a new room which was slightly better. The food was ok but good luck getting into the à la carte restaurants. We would go online at 9 am (the time you’re allowed to book) to book for that night and they were usually all booked already! How does that happen?? And the two that we did manage to get into…the food was NOT great! The pools were very warm so nowhere to cool down and the rooftop pool was never running…no jets moving the water! The staff was lovely and very helpful. Our view was beautiful…an ocean view is a must!

Older hotel but kept clean. Wait and cleaning staff were great. Concierge was not helpful! I was disappointed with the food. À la cart restaurants were difficult to access! A poor system of signing up was utilized!

Crown Paradise Golden: Average accommodation

The hotel grounds were well kept and clean. Roof top pool was really great. Hotel rooms were outdated and could use renovation, especially the washroom. It was worth upgrading room for an ocean view from the balcony. Biggest complaint was the food. Breakfast buffet was okay with fresh omelets or fried eggs. Lunch and dinner buffets were sub standard…meat selections were usually overcooked as were vegetables. Access to à la carte restaurants was impossible. In 7 days we were only able [... read more] to book 2 dinners and in both cases, the main course was almost inedible…fish was over cooked and tough.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Great time!

Hotel was great plus we were able to use the other two Decameron resort sites. Food was good every day, lots of pools to pick from plus they had an adult pool. The entertainment was good and we found plenty to do since the resort was right in town. little confusing at first but once you get the lay of the land it all came together. clean and friendly staff. beach is busy but that’s half the fun. we would go again, fun times.

Flamingo Vallarta: Can't go wrong, if you get a deal!

Pros: Price point for an almost all inclusive. Friendly staff always ready to help with any issues. Location to the marina and shops/restaurants accessibility. Cons: No WiFi in the room, lobby only. No mini fridge in the room. No hot water in the room until later in the day.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: For the money this is a wonderful resort

Just spent 2 weeks here. Lots of kids but we had a great time on the beautiful adult Hacienda side. Both pools were awesome. Quiet and plenty of drinks. The smaller buffet was so much better. We did spend a few days at the rooftop pool which was fine till we discovered the Hacienda pools. The Italian a La cart restaurant was excellent. They could use a few more a La carts. French was ok. Don’t know about the sea food as we don’t eat it. Constr'n never bothered us.

Riu Flamingos: Had a wonderful time

Had a wonderful stay at the Riu Jalisco. Would go back any time. Staff was great, the beach was clean, the room was always cleaned, overall service was very good. Preferred the Japanese restaurant of all.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Great resort

Beautiful, very clean, exemplary service It's very isolated, you cannot walk to a Mexican neighbourhood. Taxi is a short ride for 150 pesos to go into Puerto Vallarta Good variety of food at buffet always fresh salads ad fruit. No problem booking on the all a carte restaurants. Our favourite was the Asian restaurant

Riu Palace Pacifico: Great resort

The food was excellent and the beach was fantastic! You could walk for miles both sides of the resort. We did ask for a quiet room and then last minute for a partial ocean view. We were apparently upgraded to that but wouldn't call it an upgrade. We couldn't get to the full deck on the first floor and the view was more of a construction site and couldn't see much of the ocean. We still would return to the resort though as it was very clean, friendly staff and didn't spend much time in the room [... read more].

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: Wonderful Resort!

The food, pool and beach was perfect for our family of 4. Jorge the actives leader was so much fun. The fish taco restaurant was amazing and all the staff were incredible. Special thanks to Axel, Jesus, Ramone, and so many more! We will be back next year.

Las Palmas by the Sea: At Home in Puerta Vallarta

The massive conical cane-made lobby and dining rooms impress, as does the service. Surrounded and towered over by tall palm trees (and two actually in the centre of one of the pools), Las Palmas is a people- oriented hotel in many ways. This resort is a jewel that outshines the surrounding, towering resorts.

Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit: Amazing resort

Everything about the resort was above and beyond what we hoped for. It was clean and staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was also great! We would recommend this place and look forward to returning.

Tropicana Hotel: Location, Location, Location

I will start my review with the positives charming older hotel, clean, very nice friendly staff.We had booked a superior room because it had a balcony we had a great ocean view. The location is great we love staying in old town as it is within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops. What we didn’t know was that our room was an adjoining room. There were guests in the adjoining room and u could hear everything from coughing to sneezing to conversation. Another negative is there is no fridge [... read more] or ice available at the hotel so we had to buy a cooler, ice and water.We stayed for 2 weeks so the cost did add up. The beach is very nice they have palapas and umbrellas but old wooden chairs that lounge back are rickety and not maintained. They should probably be thrown into a bonfire.It also is a public beach so u may have a great ocean until about noon people come and set up. The pools are heated it is a small area really cramped. This hotel could be so much better with some improvements .

Riu Palace Pacifico: Beautiful Vacation Spot

My daughter and I certainly had a wonderful time. The grounds were lovely The bedroom was comfortable and spacious. The food at the daily buffet was all anyone could ask for. A great array of food. We also tried the steak and lobster at the steak restaurant. The Mexican restaurant was very good. We loved the Crystal restaurant as well. The last night we went to the Asian restaurant for a nice meal. Decameron Isla Coral: Loved this resort

The hotel was lovely. Just the right size you were no more than 5 minutes from anywhere in the hotel. The food was really good and we ate at the à la carte restaurant twice, which also was delicious. The rooms were clean, a little dated. I know this is petty but the lampshade in our room was cracked and rusted. Perhaps they should replace the shade. All rooms had a pool view and our side had large trees on the entrance side

Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta: Amazing resort

This was an incredible vacation with my adult children and their spouses. My room was perfect, large, comfortable bed and I could hear the sound of the waves hitting the beach when I was in bed at night. There were five different restaurants all serving great meals and the buffet where we ate breakfast and lunch had a variety of delicious foods. Plenty of pool areas and a clean beautiful beach. The evenings entertainment was good and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Decameron Isla Coral: Great beach & excellent value

My wife and I are in our 60's and have been to the other Decameron resorts in Guayabitos. We both felt this one was the best of the 3. I have read other resort reviews and some people just can't be happy. We are very happy with this one. Will summarize our 2 week trip in point form: Local Area -Excellent beach with hard packed sand and wide flat expanse at low tide. -Beach well used by both tourists & locals. Children were always playing & digging in the sand. At times (weekends) b [... read more]each was busy but did not feel crowded. -Blue bottle jellyfish were present this trip, never seen before – purple flag flying. 1st week water calm, 2nd week water rough red flags for 3 days - Many beach sellers present, but they were not intrusive. - In town, many shops with souvenirs and plenty of smaller mercados for groceries. No large grocery or department stores. There are more stores and some are slightly larger in La Peneda central district. - Have notice prices have increased on many items, Market items seemed too expensive HOTEL Pros: -Price extremely good for this trip! Nice feature to stay at one & play at three hotels. -Room had large soft pillows 3 per bed - Plug by night table – easy for a powerbar for CPAP & chargers - Elevators worked well, except one was down for 3 days. Fixed just before a busy holiday weekend. - Restaurant/ Buffet had plenty of food, Bars had good stock of decent products. lineups reasonable - Beach & pool chairs are comfortable. -English was spoken or understood by much of the staff. Improved - No towel cards Improved - Electronic door locks Improved – Heated pools They used to be soooo cold! - Recognized many workers working there from previous years. Good retention Cons: -Pretty hard bed – lots of tossing & turning. -No dresser in rooms for clothes, asked for extra suitcase rack. Nothing to hang stuff in room or bath. -Air con worked very well, but always seemed to direct onto a bed -Good hot water but fluctuating water pressure (on 6th floor anyway) -Had to ask for washcloths -TV only 3 English channels all of them news -Noises & music from pool area echoed up through up the whole hotel –but it did quieten down when the pool closed and after the bar activities around 10pm -No quiet area with normal height tables available at night to play games. -Restaurant/ Buffet lacked syrup for pancakes or French toast, Bananas infrequent but brought some when asked. No oatmeal (even though it was in drink form) -A la carte’s were troublesome to book and unable to cancel or change booking Would have like to see the A la carte’s more often also. 4 a la carte’s each open only 1 or 2 nights each

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Great Resort

Our stay at Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and every public area was clean and welcoming. The rooms were fantastic—comfortable, modern, and a perfect place to relax after a day in the sun. Dining had a great variety and The Grill a la carte restaurant was delicious! One of my favorite spots was the rooftop Sky Bar—amazing views of the sunset, a great atmosphere, and the perfect place to unwind. The adult- [... read more]only infinity pool overlooking the ocean was truly breathtaking and quickly became my go-to spot. And of course, the beach… absolutely stunning. You can walk for miles along the shoreline, which made it even more special. I would highly recommend this resort and would happily return!

Krystal Puerto Vallarta: Low Budget resort

Hotel very dated. The oldest of the Krystal’s Not a lot of greenery etc. we had superior ocean view. The view was breathtaking!! Very large delightful beach No fridge in room. Could not close bathroom door as frame was falling off. But shower was new and great. 1a la carte. Asian.reservations required. It was good. Italian à la carte you didn’t have to have reservations.
