First time to Mexico

Stayed at hacienda side Arrived to some of our party no rooms however quickly clarified! Beautiful grounds! Beautiful clean pools!! Could use more lounge chairs by pool and beach ! fantastic, breakfast buffets at both the Crystal grand and Hacienda great/personable staff hacienda side! Always very accommodating and willing to please! both poolside and beach side, however, not happy with à la carts service(both sides) exceptionally slow, sometimes taking half an hour to 45 minutes to get water  [... read more]and menu completely understaffed in the à la carts! surprisingly, Mexican had worse service and didn’t get meals that you ordered some of meals brought to you some they didn’t. we chose to go off grounds for some of our evening meals.French à la cart best service we hope the next time we go à la carts will be running much smoother, we also found when tipping housekeeping people that were refilling the fridges were taking the tips and housekeeping was not receiving some of the tips I often tip twice so that housekeeping would get some of the tip money so therefore we would be able to get things like washcloths. If you don’t tip you don’t get washcloths. Overall would be back to the crystal grand Hacienda!!

Convenient location

We stayed at the Hacienda and found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. Our “garden view” room looked over the road and it cost $260 US, for the week, to move to another room. The room was not cleaned until 4:00 pm for the first few days which improved after we talked to someone at the front desk. Attention to detail was lacking as the fan, air conditioner grate, countertops and areas behind the doors were very dusty. Only one chair on the balcony and no table to put a drink on.  [... read more]We found a glass of cigarettes butts on the balcony. Mini bar was stocked daily and there was plenty of fresh water. French restaurant was very pleasant and the food was good. Service was excellent. Not so in the Steak House. Service and food needs a lot of improvement. The pool area was well maintained and very pretty, but the music was too techno and loud for an adult only pool. Not a place to be if one is expecting a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Staff at excursion desk pushed time share meetings in order to get a free excursion. There is enough if that at the airport and it is totally inappropriate in the hotel.

Great Resort

We stayed at The Krystal Vallarta Hacienda from Dec 3-10th 2023. It is one of the best resorts we have stayed . The rooms are spectacular , well maintained and totally updated. The staff is all really hard working and very friendly. The food was really good , with a great variety,from sushi to steak .The breakfast bar was amazing with omelettes, fruit, pastries, and a variety of breakfast and mexican foods. Nice resort!

Our reservation was with Hotel but when we got there, they upgraded us to the Hacienda with a bigger room with two double beds, which was great. We thought this is good. It’s on the quiet, side, adult side it should be quiet. During the day it was good, but at night time they hosted many corporate parties for many of the locals. So it was very very very loud at night till 11 or 12 o’clock. Other than that the food was good the staff was excellent. We enjoyed our walks on the beach and it was very warm hot actually. Would we come back, probably not unless they can do something with the loud music at night like why do they have to have parties right in the middle of the courtyard with all those rooms around with other guests that don’t appreciate it.

New Management brings the goods

We have been to this property three times, most recently last year when the experience was quite poor. The prior manager whom we met to talk about our issues was a disappointment to say the least we decided to try one last time given new management. The new manager is Mexican and has instilled a new vibe with happy employees and superb service The food was improved and the staff were wonderful. We will go back. It wasca great week. They canceled our return flight as we were boarding and put us up in a simply terrible place (Friendly) for the night. It ruined the whole week.

Krystal Altitude Vallarta

Was a beautiful resort and we are looking forward to going back again next year. Staff are lovely! Rooms were very clean and we had a swim up room which we loved. Waiter staff around the pool were so friendly And hard working.

The best 8 day stay

Krystal Altitude was an incredible 8 day stay. I booked through Air Canada and all of the resort staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly and eager to help and ensure my stay was good. The buffet has good options and the food was good. My room was clean and bed was comfortable. Mini fridge restocked daily and the beach was steps away from the pool and hotel rooms. The location is fantastic, you can easily walk to the marina in less then 15 minutes, Walmart in 20, the main road to catch a bu [... read more]s in 5. The pool chairs do fill up quickly, however I never had a problem finding a chair at the pool or beach regardless of the time of day that I went. I think for larger groups you might have trouble finding 4+ chairs together if you are going later then 8 or 9 am and before 2pm. There was some complaints from other guest that I heard, but in my opinion some people are impossible to please regardless. I heard comments like there was no bacon left and the steak didn't taste like at home. Is this really a priority or the reason why you visit Mexico? Anyways, back to my recommendation... Definitely book at Krystal Altitude.

Disappointing

We had high hopes for this resort but it was one let down after another starting with our room, we booked 4 months in advance and did not get a king size bed, we’re told we could switch rooms Friday but when we tried, we were offered a room in the basement (?) or to check out for the day and try checking back in at 3 pm! No thanks. Food was good but very little choice and it became repetitive. Despite our best efforts, we were only able to get resos 3/7 nights! Pools on family side were always way too hot, like hot tub hot. Beach was very nice but the vendors were very bothersome (I don’t enjoy having to say “no” literally every 5 minutes while I’m trying to relax on the beach). Rooms were nice, linens, bedding and pillows very nice but housekeeping was spotty due to staff shortage I was told. Room service very good but you’re only allowed to use it once a day. No coffee shop on site at the time. Was able to order a latte at breakfast buffet one day but told the machine was broken for the rest of the week. Pool service was great, but constantly ran out of certain spirits, was always told they had no grapefruit juice (for my beloved sea breezes) yet it was always at the breakfast buffet. Housekeeping or maintenance left our room propped open when we were out of it for hours!! Let my door slam once by accident and a piece of the wall fell off. The only positives I can think of were the staff, they tried so hard and were always so polite, and clearly worked long days. I think all these problems stem from management. This resort has a lot of potential but it was so disappointing for us and I would not recommend it to anyone unless you book the hacienda side, which was lovely.

Beautiful Resort

This resort is a beautiful resort. Tucked in close to the ocean it offers oceanside views, beaches, a variety of pools to lounge by & the restaurants are amazing & so many varieties to choose frome. The hotel staff were a pleasure to deal with. Always friendly, knowledgable & looking after your every need.

Save your money

The hotel was under construction the ENTIRE time, loud as all hell. Also very understaffed, never had towels, ONLY 1 BAR. Even though they advertise having multiple. Will not be back! 1 S/O to Tony!!!

Run down and filthy

When we arrived in the room, we notice it had not been cleaned after the last guests. The sheets had several hairs, stains and crusted on human waste embedded on the sheets. There was a used razor blade on the floor of the room. No clean towels and the floor was full of sand. The front desk sent housekeeping to change our sheets but nothing else was cleaned in the room. The man at the front desk claimed the manager was unavailable to talk to us. Awesome

Had a fabulous week at the Krystal Altitude Hacienda. We had a double room in the Hacienda, clean, comfortable bed, huge shower, excellent housekeeping service. The pool was beautifully clean and well maintained. Had family members who stayed on the family side. That side of the resort is under renovation and was not yet to the point of the Hacienda side. There were workers working hard to get the renovations completed. The staff were so friendly! and always willing to help out in any wa [... read more]y they could. Service was excellent Food… this is an area for improvement. The buffet was generally very good. The al a cart restaurants all needed help with their menu. Presentation was beautiful but not successfully prepared. Santos at the lobby and the recreation guy were exceptional.

Outstanding resort!

I have never stayed at a more welcoming, beautiful, clean and overall wonderful resort. Every staff member was insanely nice. The food was amazing! The entire resort is absolutely breathtaking. I will stay here every time i come to Mexico!

Doesn’t worth!

There are more disadvantages booking this hotel in particular and going to the area nearby in general. First of all - nearly impossible to swim in the ocean safely, as there is a river flows into the ocean nearby, so along all twelve days staying at Hilton Puerto Vallarta, close to afternoon time water was becoming muddy/ yellow/clayey and in addition happened when it was a lot of debris came out the river to the ocean, including huge logs floating everywhere in the water. ALLIGATORS where swimming alone the ocean shore and surprisingly rescue service representative couldn’t do anything as didn’t have any equipment, so basically it was restricted swimming in the ocean all the time. Have to admit there are a lot of mosquitoes which bite all the time, even during the daytime, especially neat the pool at the Hacienda part and have no clue why hotel management doesn’t solve this problem. Another problem - this resort has cockroaches we had seen in the unit and out of it, on was dead appeared in our closet a few day before leaving so we were interested if anyone decided to remove it from there - answer NO, another one which was alive and was flying over our unit we had to catch by ourselves…. Thee are a lot of units defined as a garden view, which are actually a street view with a lot of noice even the night time. Also, the resort is officially nonsmoking, but there along about almost two weeks staying there we had seen in different areas people were smoking and security representatives didn’t do anything. And about the Hacienda part, which is adults only - it has a really nice garden with a pool and good music, but at the same time it doesn’t have a separate access to the ocean, hence staying at the beach there is no way avoid loud music throughout the day. At the same time have to admit this resort has a good restaurant service as well as clean and tidy Hacienda part.

Had a great experience at the Hilton

We stayed at the Hacienda (Adult only), however at many meals on the family side. We found the food was good, lots of variety and good fruit and salad selections. There was no limit on the number of all restaurants that required a reservation so we tried the all, some twice. There were only a few times when we found it busy, mostly there was lots of space and staff seated you and brought you drinks, coffee, juice etc. so you only needed to go to the buffet for food. I would stay there again without hesitation.

Amazing resort

We stayed on the Hacienda side of the resort which is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are large with very comfortable beds. Modern well appointed bathrooms. We ate in each of the alacarte restaurants and they were excellent. The Mexican night on the beach was outstanding. The buffets were extensive. Something for everyone one. The servers and bartenders were very outgoing and efficient. It was a pleasure to relax at this resort!

Average resort

Hi Jenn, Just to respond to your inquiry regarding my recent visit to The Hilton Puerto Vallarta. I was a little surprised quite frankly upon arrival. The online photos are very flattering. The Resort was very clean and well staffed.The food was what I expected and plenty of it. Upon our arrival they took us to our room which was not even close to what I had booked. I called the front desk, they asked me to bring the documented proof of the the room I booked, I did just that. Hacienda amazing!

We stayed at the Hacienda Hilton in Puerto Vallarta. It’s a beautiful adults only section attached to the Hilton. The staff was friendly, hardworking, and happy. The food was great, many healthy options always available, amazing mojitos and no one was annoyed when they had to make one(as we have experienced at other resorts).The adults only pool was maybe a bit too quiet for our liking, but no big deal. The beach was great for long walks and had a private area where the vendors were not to bother you. We had such a great time. Thanks Hilton staff!

Great place with some minor accessibility issues

Lovely location and property. Staff was very friendly. Booked because it was advertised as an accessible property as I am currently in a wheelchair. However while the property itself was accessible throughout, the room itself could have been better. The shower was accessible but did not have a fold down bench, so staff brought in a plastic patio chair with arms which was difficult. There was no door to the bathroom. Stayed in the old part as the new part for some reason did not have access [... read more]ible rooms which seems odd to me as it apparently was recently renovated.

Would Book Again!

Stayed at The Hilton January 31 - February10. Overall very clean hotel with excellent staff. Food was probably the best tasting for an all inclusive that I have experienced but this is subjective. Two main pools - one warm but one very cold. WiFi only available in public areas unless you are a Hilton Honours member or they ask you to pay $10/day US. (HINT ... go on line and register as a Hilton Honours Member for free. They will send you a membership number. Show this number at the desk  [... read more]and you will get free WiFi in your room .) Too far to walk to the Malecon but cab ride is only 85-120 pesos. Will likely stay at this hotel again next year.
