Had an amazing week.

We were 9 guest at the hotel. Age 8 to 55. We had an amazing week. A big thank you to ANNELISE the customer rep. Also a thank you to Enesto. This is our 9th time to Playa Paraiso.The hotel is old as we were expected but the room is always clean. When there is a problem Annelise my personal friend always find a solution. She made our visit always special. Thank you again Annelise. The food was good and always something to eat. Christmas day food was excepttional. My 8 yrs old always frind somet [... read more]hing to eat. My favorite is Cuban coffee so go see GEORGE at the loby bar. He will serve you with a fresh morning smile. Conclusion Hotel is old and need renovation but hey we were there for the beautful beach and friendly staff. We had a great week and we will sure be back soon. Dont forget bug spray, they do spray every morning.

Fabulous vacation

We had an amazing time at this resort the week of April 28. Our flight with air transat was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We have travelled to Cayo coco numerous times but never to this resort, but we will be back. There were no shortages to speak of.. we had lots of drinks to choose from, tons of selection at the buffet and amazing experiences at all of the a la cartes. Her little attention to detail made a world of difference and she did an outstanding job. The beach has a few shells upon entry but otherwise, gorgeous. Definitely will return!

My opinion of the Playa Paraiso

The grounds of the hotel were nice, the pool was great. Rooms were comfortable, except, they did not change our bed sheets all week or our bath towels. I purposely left one on the floor for the maid to change for a fresh one, and all she did was pick it up fold it and put it back on the edge of the bath tub, Speaking of bath tubs, they were so high to get in and out of you had to be careful not to fall getting in or out of if. They hardly had any night entertainment for adults, and when the [... read more]y did, it was peetty bad. The food was repetitive, which most resort do, as to not waste food. Most of the staff were some what friendly. The best meals we had all week, were in the Italian, Cuban and Portugese restaraunts. We could not get any bottle water for our room aftet the first day, I was told that they did not have anymore. I would give this resort a 3 star and will never go back.

Great resort!

This is our 6th trip to Cuba. We've never stayed at the same place twice, but we would be happy to come back to the Hotel Playa Paraiso. We really enjoyed this resort. Currently, there are shortages in Cuba but that didn't have a huge impact on our stay. There was one day that the resort had no coffee, and the beach ran out of sprite. The first day there, the resort had a pig roast and fire roasted chicken that was delicious. The presentation of this feast was gorgeous. There was carved fruits/v [... read more]egetables and gourds of some type. Overall, the food was what you would expect for Cuba, not gourmet but you're not going to starve. As well, it's always good to try different foods. If you like ketchup (or other condiments) make sure you bring some because you won't find them here. The grounds were amazing. The beach was breathtaking with the crystal-clear water. The staff were friendly and fun. The entertainment was surprisingly really good. The only thing I would change in this regard is to not have the volume of music at maximum at the beach or pool. The housekeeping staff were so sweet. Everday was a different towel and/or bedding design. We did leave a gift or a tip everyday for the maids.

Room was Horrible

Well had a great time at the resort, however the room was a nightmare. The room was cleaned everyday and had no issues with the cleanliness of my room. I was at an end unit closest to the bush. Not very well light at night. First couple of days, issues with my room key. Since I was at an end unit, there was a window but no blind. So I used a towel to cover what I could. Had issues with the door locking but finally figured it that I had to push the door out a bit to lock it. No lock on the patio  [... read more]door, no screen and no way to ensure that no entry could happen. The phone was not plugged in and I would had to move the phone and place it on the floor. The tv channels were not the same as to what my friend had but at least I had one English Channel but a few days later, lost that channel. I did talk to Customer Service and it was fixed immediately. I also discussed the issue with the patio door but nothing was done. When I mentioned the room number, he was aware of that room so I believe he knew the condition of this room And the last thing that was the worst part of the room. Cockroaches. I was there 7 days and there was only one day where I didn’t see them. I was bungalow 2, second floor. Also, I was going to have a cup of tea but noticed small bugs in the back of the coffee maker, so I passed on using that. I’m shocked that this room was given out to paying customers. No wifi in the rooms well which is unfortunate. I slept awful during the entire week as I felt unsafe. I would not go back to this resort again just because of the quality of this room

Very poor resort

I advise no body go this resort No bread, no water, no wine, the napkins was toilet paper, sometimes no hot water but flys you can have a lot above the food, horrible THE TRIPLE CENTRAL IT’S GUILTY TO SOLD RESORTS LIKE THIS

Amazing experience

The whole experience was incredible. Great staff, friendly people, beautiful weather. The ocean was majestic in its own right, sand and seashells for miles. Snack bars made you feel welcome and comfortable with cold drinks and delicious snacks while spending time at the beach. From arrival to departure and everything in between Hotel Playa Paraiso and staff are " knocking it out of the park"

Good resort and amazing people

This was my first time at this resort and I went as a group of 6, and we had a good time. The grounds were kept in great shape, if you needed something there was always someone around to help, and the a la carte meals were great. The buffet offered freshly grilled meats and pasta, and made to order omelets for breakfast. While the rest of the buffet was slightly bland and repetitive, it was on bar with what you get in Cuba. Top thing about this resort was the staff 100 %. Everyone was so amazing, helpful, and friendly. They remembered your name, your drinks, and were always ready with a smile. Only staff member I had difficulties with was a lady in reception who was quite rude and was refusing to call us a taxi...insisting we take the bus. It took some harrassment on our part, but she finally relented. People that are at the face of your resort should be helpful and friendly....this woman was not. The beach was beautiful, and they made these amazing fried balls of goodness at the beach bar. I think they referred to them as beignettes, I'm unsure, but they had the perfect amount of flavour and weren't too greasy. Not a sweet, but something light to snack on. The staff at the pool bar were the best of the best. Carlos, Raoul, and Danielys (I apologize if I messed up your names). Thank you for making all of our vacations that much better. You are amazing people.

Resort.

The food was absolutely disgusting. It ruined the whole trip. The portions in the restaurants are very small. The food choice for the Buffay is absolutely disgusting. nothing but scammers in the city. I purchased an excursion through an email that was sent from you guys trip Central the excursion did not include the dolphins which it indicated on your website that it did so that was a disappointment and a waste of a lot of money $300 to be exact I probably would never book with you guys again

Worst experience in Cuba over 15 years

I have been to Cuba many times and at this resort is the second time. It is extremely disappointing in terms of hygiene, flies, power, and water outages. We were not able to have one single bite without worrying that we were eating flies and mosquitoes. Foods at buffets are covered with flies) They serve coffee in plastic or champagne glass. Beautiful Beach and Pool

The rooms were large and clean. The resort was very well laid out. The nightly lobby entertainment was outstanding. Most beautiful beach. The coffee bar was definitely worth the wait. Buffet had lines but food was always replenished quickly.

Playa Pasairo

Had a great stay the resort is definitely family oriented. There were quite a few children but all ages. Actually, the rooms are large, although dated, no issues with quality of food or the supply of food à la la la carts were always fun and good food the pool is amazing as well as the beach, I believe my favourite part was the entertainment team, especially the entertainment in the lobby between seven and 930 till the actual show started with some going on electric guitar one night great singer [... read more]s another night always something to do an experience

Not great!

Shortage of everything! Would never go back ! Very disappointed! The beach was the best thing! Same thing everyday to eat! Someday they would run out! The coffee in morning was good service but that is it!

Excellent Resort!!

I recently spent two weeks at Hotel Playa Paraiso, from December 7 > December 21. I was highly impressed by the resort. The room I was in, was spacious, clean and bright. There was ample water pressure and hot water, and the AC unit worked well, when required. There were two single beds in the room, which were firm and comfortable. The curtains and sheers were highly functional. The shower/bath tub was excellent. The TV and mini fridge worked fine. Lighting was adequate. The maid [Yaima] did [... read more] an excellent job cleaning the room on a daily basis. The grounds were well kept, and the large swimming pool was immaculate. Plenty of chairs were available at the pool. The beach was deep and sandy, with plenty of chairs available. The water depth increased very gradually, so it was exceedingly safe. You could walk a considerable distance in either direction. Nightly entertainment was quite good, with a considerable variety of entertainment. The music on the beach, around the pool, and in the lobby, was too loud for my liking, but that seems 'par for the course' in Cuba. The buffet dining room was large and clean, but there were flies constantly on the tables. Such could be easily rectified with a dozen fly swatters or so, and some effort!! I did not eat at the a la carte restaurants, but did hear that the meals there were so-so. The food in the buffet restaurant was quite good for Cuba, especially given the recent food shortages in the country. I was impressed with the constant variety of fresh fruits [papaya, white grapefruit, bananas, pineapple, orange slices, clementines] at all meals, along with the rich, creamy white cheese. Normally there was only white bread and buns available, but half the time there were some dark buns with more texture [I'm not sure if they were whole wheat]. Butter was in abundance. Several cereal choices were available every morning, but the milk and yogurt appeared to be made from powdered milk. The freshly grilled fish at lunch and supper was excellent, although it was Tilapia and Basa, which are not recommended nutrition-wise. No shrimp or calamari. It should be noted that there were no eggs available, the last two days that I was there. I might also add that I heard "horror stories" about two other nearby resorts, where there were serious food and water shortages. In fact, several guests from those resorts were transferred to Hotel Playa Paraiso. I have been to Cayo Coco over 12 times. In truth, this was the best resort that I have been to, in Cayo Coco. Pro’s: Great beach/nightly entertainment/great coffee Con’s: Rooms are very rundown and neglected of any maintenance/had a ring stolen from luggage/very cold pool/food is sub par throughout the resort/very limited drink choices

Good company and millions of mosquitos

In a company of 5 we visited Playa Paraiso Nov 19-Nov 30 , 2023. PROS: Resort people (waiters and bar tenders) were great Rooms were clean, beach towels in the rooms Our room in building 2 had wifi Food was not in a great variety, but was tasty. Especially pork leg at dinner time. Once in 12 days we had lobsters and giant shrimps (shrimps were served 2 days after as well) Drinks were good. Not the cocktails (sometimes ingredients were not available), but hard drinks. Wine was 2 types of wh [... read more]ite and 2 types of red. One of each type was good, the other was not. Weather was great Beaches were great, as always, lots of chairs available all the time Great entertainment in the theater, but not everyday great. Some days was great, some - not so great. CONS: Mosquitos. A million of them. Week before was rainy and water was standing in the greens on the way to the beach. Resort people were spraying something in the evening. It did not help much. Take repellent with you. And something for the bites. Air Transat return flight was delayed 2.5 hours. Because it depended on the flight from Montreal, which arrived late. Other than that flight was good. No bikes, no ping-pong tables. We did not find snorkeling place except catamaran ride, that stops at reefs for 40 min for 25 CAN per person. (It is free without snorkeling stop) Music and entertainment at the pool was awful - bad and very loud music, stupid rico-rico... Cappuccino in the lobby bar was made with powder milk. Lady in the gift shop (don't know her name, but she was going outside every 15 min for a cigarett) was selling bug repellents from under the table. They were not on the shelves with price labels.

Amazing resort

I went to Playa Paraiso inCayo Coco for one week in May .2023 I liked it so much that I returned for 2 weeks in October. The beach is white sand with plenty of lounger.I enjoyed the selection of cappuccino in the lobby bar. The food in the buffet is okay end the 2 grills cook great pork chicken and fish. Langusta lobster was served twice but you have to get early to get it beforehand running out. I definitely will be going back.

A B- hotel

The resort itself was good, amazing and helpful staff but the food was disappointing. They didn’t have fresh eggs and used some sort of powder or liquid eggs. They had three restaurants and all of them had very limited items on the menu. The items on the menu of the restaurant seemed like left overs from the buffet menu. They had the same desert as well that was served in the buffet. Worst part was our check was at 12pm but our flight wasn’t until 9:45pm so we paid and took a late check out  [... read more]for 4pm just so we could use the beach for half a day and then come back and shower and leave for the airport. When we got back to our rooms around 1:30pm to shower and change there was not water…. Imagine that after using the beach and you cannot shower before you catch a flight…

Love Playa Paraiso

We just spent another glorious week at Playa Paraiso, our home away from home. As I’ve said in my previous reviews, everything was amazing. We love it there and will return soon. What makes our stay even more special are the wonderful, wonderful people who I cannot begin to praise enough. My morning cafe con leche and evening cocktails were delicious and always served with a smile and warm greeting. The entertainment team of Yesmely, Daniela, Gea, Breno, Bruno, Bolo, Claudia, Yainel, Araimi and Shary always go above and beyond to keep the guests happy and make sure everyone is having a great time. Thank you. Most of my days were spent by the pool bar where Danielys, Carlitos and Louis were always there with a smile. The pool is the cleanest I’ve ever seen thanks to Abdel who never stops working. Don’t fret if you can’t find a chair in your perfect spot because he will always be there to assist. We were greeted again by Dayana at reception who makes us feel like we are returning home, with her contagious smile warm greetings. Special thank you to Yordanis for once again making sure we had the perfect room and always offering assistance . Thank you to Ernesto for being ever present and doing an amazing job providing customer service. You will always find my friend Maili constantly working around the resort to make sure everything is spotless but she always has time for a smile and an Hola. I stayed in room 2102 which is a perfect location and my housekeeper Nuy made sure it was beautifully decorated freshly cleaned every day. 7 Years - No let-down

We've been visiting this resort for 7 years now. A great wide beach, all amenities are very close, food is just outstanding. Seafood, shrimp - every day, langoustes, delicious pork, chicken, beef shank, sausages and cheese of many kinds - anything. Service is great. Very friendly people. 15 mins from the airport. This September of 2023 there were broken shells on the shore (probably after a storm) but they cleaned it quite fast.
