Pros: 1. Nice location 2. Very nice beach 3. Good poolside/beach side service 4. Decent breakfast 5. Nice pools Cons: 1. Lunch and Dinner Buffett -same menu as each other, and every day, not very good, little variety, little to no seafood. The buffet has no AC and they do not have the terrace section open which is the nicest part. It’s a bit ridiculous to be waiting to get into the buffet as well. 10-15 minute waits sometimes 2. Dumb restaurant reservation at 9am by Internet, will fil [... read more]l up, quick. This changed partway through but nobody was told - could not book reservations 3. No ice cream. The snack bar that is 24 hours, is not 24 hours and charges about $5 usd for a scoop. The buffet deserts suck. 4. “o week” - a couple hundred Mexican kids came for a grad trip and made the stay unenjoyable. The noise from 2am-4am kept us and many other guests awake. The hotel staff just watched. Nobody told them to be quiet or leave. The hotel lobby design with the central atrium means that noise in the lobby will be heard by everyone. This was every night that we were there - 4 in a row. We left while they remained, so I am sure it continued. Staff was useless in remedying this. 5. 4 elevators. 2 permanently out of service. The other 2 worked intermittently, and were too small to accommodate the traffic. Further there is no AC or air flow at all, it becomes disgusting. Stairwells are marked poorly as well. If you are lower level stairs will work, but God help you if you are on the 14th floor. 6. Little useful information provided upon check in, no map. 7. Our room was old

It was an ok resort

The resort itself was a nice design the pool area and service were really good but resort is dated and very little activities - food at Buffett was blah but the Al la Carter’s were decent - fave was Ayami

Underwhelming

The room was good, always clean. The view was great. English programs were hard to find on tv, often there were none. Getting to the room can be challenging as never more than half of the elevators were working, sometimes only one. The food was mostly disappointing as the buffet had the same salty choices every night though breakfast was ok. We only went to one a la carte (Italian) and were disappointed. The snack bar at the pool was good but only available for lunch/afternoons. Beach chai [... read more]rs could be had if you were on the beach by 7:30am. The pool chairs were easier to get later but we did see people “reserving” at both the pool and beach, coming back much later or never that day. Some drinks were good, but many just tasted odd. Maybe a difference in the water but rum and coke should taste the same anywhere and gin & tonic shouldn’t make you walk away. We were on a WestJet vacation and their partner, Nexus, was not good. 1-1/2 hour wait at the airport for a transfer and the resort rep only showed up sometimes.

If you have not booked yet - take the reviews seriously

Most of the staff team was great. The facility itself is not in good working order. Basic facilities management issues materially impact your general experience. This is not an exaggeration. Most of the issues raised by multiple reviewers, such as the inability to book restaurants and the extortionate pricing of beachside deckchairs, are true and not overblown. The great things about this resort are not particularly the resort itself, but the location and the beach surrounding it. I think this s [... read more]kews the overall rating. These two factors are great, but both are accessible to the general public. Also, just because it says "Grand" in the name does not necessarily mean it is grander than the neighbouring resort, Krystal Cancun. I hope someone finds this helpful. We made the best of the 7 days but would not go back nor recommend it. If you have booked before reading this, you will have an ok time. If you haven't booked yet, you may want to research more.

Be aware!

Dining – line up for every meal to report room number etc. to get access one-by-one. Same menu every day for Breakfast/lunch/dinner. Bars – Lobby bar opens at 1:00 pm and Beach bar opens at 11:00 am. Until 11am can not get even non alcoholic drink juice or else Ala carte restaurant – needs to be booked daily only for same day. Booking opens at 9:00am. I tried 6 days in a row, could not get it done even one time. Room – very small room, with no sofa, table etc. Only one (1)! Just what we needed!

We escaped for 4 days to Cancun and I had done quite a bit of research on hotels ahead of time. Our priority was to find a hotel with decent food, ocean views, and a fabulous beach with good waves and no seaweed. The beach was AMAZING!! One day the red flags were out as it was super windy with more undertow than usual. But the lifeguards kept a good eye out and blew the whistle if people went too far. The buffet was subpar, and there was a lot to choose from, but nothing to rave about. The best restaurants were the Italian (exceptional!) and the Japanese. However, the Grill (steak and seafood restaurant) was a little disappointing. You must book on the app as soon as you can -right at 9am every morning, but as others have said, even then we had 2 out of the 3 nights where there was no availability to book and all were full. However, we would go grab a drink and put our names down for a restaurant around 7pm and were usually called within 30 minutes. Getting a sunbed always seems to be a challenge at these vacation resorts. We had to go put towels on beds by 9am or it was very difficult to get 2 or 4 together, especially on the beach. It is frustrating that people put towels on beds and then don't show up for a few hours. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We had an oceanview room on the 11th floor which was lovely, but extremely windy. Our friends had a room 2 doors down from us and there was hardly any wind when you went out on their balcony. On the weekend, the beach is busier as the locals come to enjoy the area a little ways down and the hotel is very close to town. We did not go into town, but there is a lot of nightlife there. In the hotel, there is very little to do in terms of the evenings, not what we are used to when we go on this type of holiday. Usually, there are shows, karaoke, etc, but this hotel just had one bar where there was a DJ for about an hour after 9pm. So, it depends on what you are looking for. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay and if you want something a little less expensive than some of the other resorts. We did not have high expectations and enjoyed our time there.

Krystal Grand Cancun

People are so friendly there. Food wasn't great but to be honest I wasn't there for the food. The beach was magnificent!!! So beautiful!! We didn't have hot water in our room. Maintenance checked it and they decided to change us to a different room. We loved that there was so much here in walking distance. We walked the beach twice a day and it goes forever. I would easily go back here. We loved it. The pools weren't the greatest but again I wasn't there for the pools. Sometimes people there had [... read more] a hard time understanding what I wanted or needed but if they couldn't figure it out they always got someone else. Very friendly and easy going people.

Loved our stay…

Travelled as a retired couple and stayed in an oceanfront Altitude suite for 14 days. We are very familiar with all inclusive resorts having stayed at many in the Caribbean, and especially in the Cancun area. Most important to us is a great beach and good service. This resort was excellent in both of these areas. The resort was different than others in the area we’ve stayed at in that probably 75% of the guests were Mexicans on shorter term vacations, some all inclusive, some not. This  [... read more]meant the food options, while somewhat limited, were fairly authentic Mexican style. We really appreciated that, They had decent house wine and made wonderful Mojitos. The gym was clean and had several cardio machines and a selection of free weights and machines.

Good value

The hotel is in a great location in tge hotel zone. It's on a little bay that seems more private than the rest of the hotel zone. Hotel is nice. Looks grander than it is. Our room overlooked the street but because you're on a point you still get an ocean view. Rooms are basic but clean. Staff is attentive to any issues you have. Elevators are slow. Only 3 out of 4 worked. The layout downstairs is a bit confusing and bot made for handicapped people. The grill was excellent. We didn't like the set up of the restaurant booking. You can only book for that day. At first they said at 9 am but everything was gone by then. Then we were told 6 am and were able to get a reservation. The timeshare sales do get on your nerves after a while. Beech is lovely. Not enough lounge chairs for the size of hotel. Louis on the beach is quick with the drinks and the food Isabel at the buffet is a sweetie. I'd say we enjoyed our stay and it was good value for the money

Amazing beach , hotel not so much ….

Been to Cancun several times …first time at Krystal altitude Cancun, won’t be back ……. Food is very mediocre, we lived on room service spaghetti and beer . Staff not so accommodating or friendly , never ever got a chair on beach as you had to sleep on them the night before in order to get one ..so we were not served food or drinks on the beach . Krystal Altitude Cancun

It is not a bad hotel. I don’t like a food, not a great selection. But the hotel has seven restaurants for all tastes and all restaurants are different from each other. You must book at 7am for your visit. Otherwise, you risk not getting in.

Loved it

Over all the stay was an 8/10 I had some issue with the cleaning and staff. Check in wasn’t ready 2:30 in the afternoon we waited 30 mins and our room still wasn’t ready so we got placed on another floor. Wasn’t a big fan of the buffet option neither breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But the restaurant there were alright not a lot of options but some. The pool area was amazing loved was there everyday. The beach needs more chairs by 9 am there was never any chairs, but be sides that the beach was beautiful. House cleaning was a little difficult because they didn’t understand what we were asking for and never got done till like 3-4 in the afternoon. The shower head did have mold on the rim part. Over they did a good job on cleaning our room. There were activities but for kids they need more adult events I loved the Hotel overall

Great value; gorgeous stretch of beach; fabulous care

We loved our time here (the 2nd week of January). We were taken care of really well by the generous staff, and felt at ease in the space. It’s a smaller resort, which we appreciated — well laid out with lots of places to be, in or out of the sun. Two different pools, with two different energies! :) Food was quite good. Zero complaints. We appreciated the local families who were also enjoying the resort, and people from many other countries. You can walk for miles on this beach,  [... read more]and the little corner of the Reflect’s was peaceful and more swimmable for timid ocean folk than the rest. We had fun playing volleyball in and out of the pool, and enjoyed the simple evening entertainment. We were sad to leave and will return.

100% Perfect

As a frequent traveler I have never wanted to return to a resort until I arrived at Reflect in Cancun. This place is amazing. Food, beach, pool, night shows, sunrises. I had everything I wanted and will definitely be returning for my next vacation. Not one single thing let me down.

Great Resort

Very clean smaller resort, with great pools. absolutely wonderful beach, all just outside the door. Rooms were perfect. Staff amazing, very attentive. 24hr room service. Smaller type of entertainment each evening as well. Very well coordinated check in and out. The only negative was the food in the buffet . Breakfast was great, but for other meals- choices were very limited. The menu didn't change much each day either. I absolutely loved all of the 4 restaurants. The food was wonderful. Love [... read more]ly 5 course meals, and the best part was that you didn't have to dine at the buffet, you could go to the restaurants every day and most of them did not require reservations. On another note, while we were there the two elevators were not operating well, we got stuck inside one day. But, it appeared that installation of two more newer elevators was commencing in another location. All in all, a great place to relax and enjoy the sun.

Amazing Resort!

Beginning on the checkin they give me a upgrade for a ocean view, the housekeeping was very good every day my room was cleaned and fridge reloaded, the bar the service was amazing e the servers friendly.

The price was right!

The resort met all my expectations, and the service was great. Only complaints were that the elevator was slow and there was sargassum was on the beach (which may have been unlucky timing). The location was great though and I would recommend this place to a friend!

Very clean resort

Very clean and well kept resort Good wifi Beach is very crowded and used by locals as well. The only small complaint I would have is that we were told by our airline rep that we would get a hospitality room since we were leaving for the airport 5h after our checkout time, but of course that did not happen.

Good resort

We stayed in the alititude tower over all good stay. Good location close to nightlife. Hotel staff were very helpful. Only one bar at the hotel is open until 1am. Service was a little slow as you need to provide your room number for everything. No night entertainment.

Very good staff

We stayed in the older tower.it was still great. The staff here is fabulous . 24 hour room service . Beautiful beach. Pool chairs are limited but we always found something . Bufffet very small but happy there’s not a ton of re-used or unused food . The quality of the food was good and just limited. Service staff and cleaning was excellent . Small balcony’s .
