We had a swim out in Building 1 which is away from the main pool. If you want quite this is the building to be in. Been to many resorts with swim outs and this is one of the best. Rooms are clean and spacious, and the house keepers were prompt every day and super friendly. We went to the a la carte restaurants in the Platinum side and Grand Riviera (family side) and they are all decent, didn't do back to our room hungry. Buffet was good for breakfast but lunch and dinner not so much. Food at the[... read more] beach grill for lunch was amazing. Service from the resort staff was amazing as usual in Mexico. Be aware of the Codi's (Mexican raccoon) they are everywhere. Don't really bother you but will open your patio doors if not locked.

Very pleased with our choice
Wonderful swim out suite with a great bed, good pillows and everything working, plenty of hot water under as needed under amazing rainfall shower head. Very good food and service from all staff and a special thanks to Catalina for her frequents stops by our swim out suite. All specialty restaurants were very good and buffet was well above what we've experienced at other resorts of similar ranking. Sunwing is showing obvious signs of dollar shaving efforts, no Wifi on plane not even a magazine to[... read more] scan and pass the time and use of infield terminal is great for departure but upon return awaiting baggage is much longer than normal. Very much reconsidering the Elite plus add on we chose for next vacation, seats are very narrow, I'm not at all a large person, just tall and we had front bulkhead whcih didn't provide much extra legroom. All in all a very relaxing time, quite enjoyed our stay.

Had a great time!
Would recommend this place! We did a relaxing, quiet holiday for two. It was perfect! Clean rooms, food was good, staff was excellent. Loved the wildlife there! If you want a more robust holiday I am sure you can do it here, but we had swim out and spent our time simply in our room and on our terrace. The only con if you are a beach person it is a small area.

Amazing Vacation
We had a great time. The rooms were great everything was close by for us. The service was great had no issues with slow service. The only negative was the beach, but its that time of year and the beach was okay at the sister resort that you can go to. I was able to find something good to eat and that I liked everyday. Swim up room by the main pool was fun. Me and my husband had one on the premium side, if your not into the party or loud music book in premium side. Our friends had a swim out o[... read more]n the other side, which was a good change for us. If you are prone to getting bad bug bites wear bug repellent. The two of us had gotten bad bites, when no one in group of nine had any, but we had both had this once before years ago. I went to three different resort since October, but this is the first one were I got bug bites on the bottom of the legs. Over all it was great time.

PRETTY GOOD
This resort is beautifull. The property was clean and well kept. The staff was very helpfull and language barrier was not a big problem. Enrique from the bellboy staff was especially helpfull with all my small enquiries and he always met us with a big smile. The beach was okay with lots of rock on the adults only side but was much better on the family side. Crews worked tirelessly to keep the beach free of seaweed. Kudos to them. The food was very good. No complaints there. My only complaint wou[... read more]ld be the layout. The party pool was at the opposite end of the property from the beach.
This resort was very quiet. So if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation, this would fit the bill.

Gracia Mexico
The resort was clean, the food was really good. Beach, not so great. Lots of seaweed and very rocky. If you like and want to swim in the ocean, bring water shoes. The hotel wasn't super busy, it was kind of quiet which was good for us. Spa services were a nice addition. The ride to and from the airport was approx 50 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day.

Just OK
Just got back from one week at Platinum Yucatan, it was OK - maybe a 3.5 star in my opinion - but a decent price overall in comparison to other adults only resorts.
- swim up room in first building is worth it, as you are not near the other pools that can get a bit loud (especially the party pool that is in front of building 2/3??
- food was good, but not great - their understanding of gluten allergy was weak, and so was the food selection at restaurants (buffet was often the safest choice[... read more])
- beach was thin and the water was rocky with lots of seaweed - but staff work hard to try and clean it up .. still had a beautiful breeze, but the diesel tractor cleaning up the beach all day caused us to use our swim up room 90% of the trip
- staff stop by the swim up rooms to check if you want a drink
- beds ok; pillows sucked
- the resort needed a lot of maintenance - very worn down (i.e. the bathroom mirrors were event eroded)
- at check out, the system was down and we had to find enough cash to pay for expenses >$500 in spa expenses .. when asked to email us our receipt they said they couldnt (this was sketchy). I was provided an email to get in touch with someone afterwards and ofcourse no one has responded...
- great evening live music in the lobby bar
- mixed drinks were watered down and served in the cheapest recyclable cups I have ever had at a resort
- check in was very brief, which was nice, but didn't really seem like the cared much ... usually there is a lot more enthusiasm upon arrival to a resort (even if they are pretending lol). They just handed us some crumpled cheap photocopied papers and we kinda had to get our own bearings of the resort.
At the end of the day, Mexico is still my fav place to be and we had a beautiful pool with beautiful weather - which is all we needed.... but still, its hard to not expect a little more of a 5 star experience for a adults only resort that cost us around 11K for 4 people.

Very Nice Resort
Very clean resort , rooms and grounds . Staff very helpful always willing to help out. Plenty of chairs at the beach and pool. Lots of activities to do for all levels of fitness or just for fun. Only concern was that they sprayed a fog pesticide around the resort during dinner time. You could smell and taste it in the air.

Another lovely stay!
Our family has stayed at this hotel a few times now and we come back for many reasons. We enjoy the elevated experience and food in the buffets and the a la carte restaurants. The nice aspect of this resort is that you don't have any limits to how often you eat at the restaurants or have to wait in lines to book a reservation. The staff are lovely and overly helpful. The bars are well stocked and efficient. The beach is not as nice as we have enjoyed elsewhere due to the size and the rocky cond[... read more]itions, but it is still enjoyable for beach lovers. The concierge, front desk and valets are outstanding. We had assistance when needed for my Mom and her walker and people were consistently accommodating. Sadly the weather was very unseasonably cold, rainy and overcast for our trip. So the only complaint is that we are disappointed there are no English speaking movie stations on the TVs. There are 4 English stations, 2 of them are news stations and the other two are CBS and NBC with local programming from Florida and other places. There needs to be something done to add in English movie channels like other hotels have available. We spent a lot of time in the room due to weather and that would have been helpful. Grateful for the hotel helping get the same room as past trips as my senior knew the paths for ease and safety and she was much more comfortable not trying out a new location. We think this hotel is a good fit for us...just not the weather this trip!

Again...The Best!!
Arrived January 9th 2025 for a spectacular 7 days. Check-in, a breeze. Very courteous. Luggage brought to the room in an instant. The room was clean, fresh smelling and all amenities were in order. We were in a Jr swim Up suite. Bldg #4. Fantastic location. Pool was perfect temp. We were in the middle of everything. Main (Foam party) pool...but off the beaten path for quiet. Drinks were generous (bring your own drinking vessel). Bring a floatie and water shoes. Most of the activities were around[... read more] this main pool.
The quiet area was Bldg 5 swim up bar area. Still, a great place to unwind.
The food!!!! OMG!! Eat at Bruschetta and Kotatsu. The buffet also had everything to your liking...
The snack bar at the beach had great burgers and fries for those in between or missed meals.
If you do anything...GET a Deep Tissue Massage from Isabel...Wow...just Wow!!
When you go to the buffet...ask for FANNIE's section. She is the best at her position. Always attentive and remembers all the little things (English breakfast tea, no milk...right there when we go for our dessert)
The cons...and there are just a few...could be a big deal if this is what you absolutely MUST HAVE..
The beach...lack lustre. The sargasm only came up once...so it's not that. We are at an adult resort. The only place to swim is about 1km walk along the beach to the family section. The water is beautiful. but, full of kids with unattentive parents.
There is an area with VIP "Blue Towels" that is roped off...it was near empty. We paid for VIP services at our Resort but were not able to access this prime area. This made our beach visit down to 3 days of 7.
COCO BONGO---DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$$$...crowded to unsafe fire code. Food was hot dogs from a fridge, slider burger was 1/2oz patty...fries were from a rancid oil fryer. AWFUL. The entertainment was terrible...Old ripped costumes of super heroes, The acts would come out in the
1 hour line up to take a pic with YOUR camera and then ask for money??
The QUEEN Lip Sync was cheesy, at best. The dancers costumes were in disrepair.
Price 477.00 CAN. I am sure we could have dealt it down a little more. But that was what we paid.
I know this is not part of the beach, pool, food...but they are allowed to sell this rip off on the resort, so they are responsible. Really put a sour taste because there are some great excursions...This is NOt one of them.
All in All...We will Return...Can't wait...wish we stayed 2 weeks.

Resort is no recommended
We are resort goers and go to Mexico 2-3 times a year. This resort is no where near 4.5 stars. And this is the worse one since +10 years of going to Mexico.
Food is undesirable and seems to be re-used day after day. Line up at the bar and buffet food stations were a constant. Anything that is half good is empty and unfilled for a period of time. Restaurant is not good, full stop. The international restaurant and Italian was the best because of the servers. They were able to screen the [... read more]items and drinks for us. Bedding is uncomfortable due to their plastic wrap that did not breath and crinkled as you moved around and rooms are very old and tiresome. The closet stunk of mildew. The beach smell of sewer. The taco station at the sister resort, when it was on, has a huge line up and ran out of beef and chorizo and only allowed pork or chicken and keep on moving like we were in a camp.
Drinks are undrinkable. They seemed to be filled with some sort of alcohol filler that gave terrible heartburn.
After 3 days, with much effort and time spent talking to management we were able to get our room sorted out to be more comfortable for the rest of our stay but it is still incomparable to other resorts that we have stayed at. Management was appreciative of our concern and did their best.
Entertainment though was good. They put on great shows. The entertainers and resort staff are sweet and kind. I really appreciate them.

Excellent resort overall, staff that make a difference
A good experience through Cancun Airport, and an early arrival at the hotel with a room that wasn't ready allowed us to meet Israel the doorman. He remembered our names for the 10 days we were there, and that was a very personal touch that set the tone for this trip. He wasn't the only staff member who had great memory and customer service, Brian from the wait staff (Italian Restaurant) was wonderful and this added to that feel good factor. PYP as a hotel chain needs to have a program to reco[... read more]gnize their staff who go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome - these two certainly did that, making the trip a very pleasant experience.
The grounds of this hotel are immaculately groomed, and it has two sister resorts adjacent with very mature grounds. The room was clean and neat, everything worked properly, although the tile floor was getting a little tired. Huge two person shower with railheads was very well received.
The beach for Platinum Yucatan Princess is small, but was clean. The adjacent sister resorts beach suffered from an influx of seaweed. The hotel is surrounded on 2 sides by mangroves, and post hurricane Beryl there was a distinct odour in the pool area at times. The pools were well maintained and clean, and never crowded.
The food at the various restaurants was excellent, and no reservations needed at the a-la-carte restaurants. Bar service was good and efficient. The Lobby had a bar that also did specialty coffees - highly recommended.
The hotel staff were consistently doing maintenance that varied from re-doing rooms to hurricane damage repair of ceilings in the outdoor spaces.
I would return in a heartbeat - the only negative was no remote for the TV in the room, despite reporting it an asking for it to be rectified. Then again, we didn't go there to watch TV.

Beautiful!! NO pool/beach Servers
Was really impressed when we arrived. Lobby was great, check in was great. Room is great. My only negative review is that there are no pool servers or beach servers. Not one during our one week stay. You have to either be in the pool and go to the swim up bar or get out of the pool and walk to the bar side. The beach is the same. No servers. You have to walk to the Beach cafe bar area. I have been to mexico almost 10 times and never stayed at a resort where you have to get your own drinks. This [... read more]is the first time. Will book here again
Those resort was very clean. The staff were helpful, polite, and kind. There is plenty to do and with access to the sister resorts, something for everyone. A smaller version of the Sports Bar would have been nice on our resort.
Only one downside- our room smelled "musty"

Generally amazing, subject to some minor irritations
We were extremely pleased with this resort. It was very clean, safe and comfortable.
We found the buffet had the best food overall. My wife is celiac and the manager Mario was extremely conscientious about making sure her dietary needs were accommodated. It was really nice to be able to dine out and not have to stress about gluten. I would say that the food handling overall was excellent. This is the first time we have been to a Caribbean resort and not had diarrhea.
The grounds were lai[... read more]d out nicely and the beach was easy to access. The water where we were wasn’t really suitable for swimming because of jagged rocks under the sand - but we were happy to sit back and enjoy the beautiful view.
We had a swim up room which was delightful. It was spacious and well laid out. The furniture in the room was - how to put this delicately? - well used. The mattress sagged and was soft and the bed sheets were non breathable, meaning we kept waking up because we were too hot or too cold. We still managed to sleep, but couldn’t keep our bodies at a comfortable temperature.
The deck furniture was made of molded plastic. It wasn’t terrible but it seemed better suited for bus shelter than a premium resort.
I don’t want these minor complaints to overshadow what was generally an excellent experience. The staff were delightful, the food was high quality and physical space was impressive.

Great Resort
This was our second trip to this resort. We were impressed during our visit a year ago and decided to return. The food was very good. The service was very good in all of the restaurants and bars. Isobel the pool server was wonderful, bringing drinks to the swim up rooms. Also the room services was very convenient.
Our room was very clean and well stocked most of the time. We had a swim up room and there was one day that we did not receive pool towels despite a call and a visit to the concier[... read more]ge desk. There were a couple of maintenance issues that were promptly dealt with and followed up with a call from the concierge desk to ensure everything was satisfactory.
One disappointment was a lack of recognition for return guests. Also, during our visit last year there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine delivered to the room. However, they are no longer doing this.
Overall, we were very satisfied and would return.

Amazing resort
So the resort was beautiful. We had a swim up room which was totally worth it due to the main pool area being quite small, very small amount of lounge chair to be had. People are out reserving their chairs early. Food and drink were fantastic. Beach is also very small but nice. The only real complaint that I have since I’m a smoker is that there were only two places to smoke in whole adults only section. One was by the buffet area which was ok but needs a couple more cement bench’s for people[... read more] to sit. As for the other one it was closer to the main pool area, it was terrible and felt unsafe to use at night. It was not lit up at night and felt unsafe. No where to sit. Sign says do not walk on grass and it’s all grass to get there. So people were breaking the no smoking rules a lot.

Great Resort
Overall the hotel was great. Rooms next to the main pool were a bit noisy due to the entertainment and activities in the pool in the afternoons. Dinner options were excellent in the 4 restaurants food was delicious, but almost the same options for breakfast and lunch. A great vacation!
