Royalton CHIC Antigua: amazing resort and experience

royalton chic antigua was a beautiful resort with all amenities available. food was wonderful and staff were friendly and helpful. everything on the hotel grounds were clean, maintained. hotel staff checked in with us throughout the trip, we always felt safe and welcome.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Diamond Club and Oceanview cost premium isn't worth it

This review is about our recent large group stay at the Royalton St. Lucia Hideaway (Diamond Club) In April. Overall, our experience at the resort was generally positive; however, there were some service gaps regarding the Diamond Club/Hideaway experience. First, there were multiple occasions when activities scheduled at the hideaway pool or bar did not occur as indicated. Secondly, after our arrival, we discovered that the Hideaway beachfront Dorado restaurant and washroom were closed for re [... read more]novations. This required us to travel from the beach to the pool area for access to facilities or use a non-oceanfront restaurant. We were not informed of these closures in advance, considering we were paying for a luxury premium experience I would have expected a heads up. The most frustrating issue involved room categorization and pricing. Our group consisted of seven couples, all booked under the Diamond Club Hideaway category. Among us, four couples (including myself) paid an additional $800 for “oceanview” rooms, while three couples booked “non-oceanview” rooms. All seven couples were assigned rooms in the same building (Building 1). The only difference between the room type was the floor level: the non-oceanview rooms were on the first floor (above the swim-up area), while the oceanview rooms were assigned to floors 2–4. While I understand that this classification may apply to other buildings on the resort, it does not accurately reflect the situation in Building 1, as there was no difference in view among the floors. In fact, one guest on the first floor had a better ocean view than another guest who paid the premium. I cannot understand or justify why we paid $800 more than the other guests so I hope you take this into consideration when booking. That being said, the resort is nestled in a beautiful cove. The ocean is lovely. The food was ok, not spectacular by any means. Mostly, I would like to express my appreciation for the quality of the butler service; all of the Diamond Club staff were friendly and attentive. But in my opinion, I don't think it was paying a premium the diamond club oceanview at this resort.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Not a 5 star luxury resort

When you book this resort, there is the option of paying for an upgrade (Diamond Club). It is over $1,000 per person in additional fees. We didn't take this option. You also have the choice to book your own room, for an extra fee of $260 US minimum. We didn't take that option either. You are also asked if you want to upgrade to DC when you check in. We declined, and the room we were given was possibly the worst one in the resort. It was in the furthest building from the beach. The musty smell [... read more] was overwhelming, tv was broken. The bathtub had rust. The view was of the wall of the Majestic Mirage next door (which is absolutely amazing, BTW). There were no extra locks on the door, even the peephole cover was broken. Our first impression was not great. When the hotel is not at full capacity and this is the room you get, it is very disappointing, and you cannot help but think it was because you didn't pay extra. We called the front desk. They sent up a dehumidifier. We stayed one night but couldn't stay there any longer. They did switch our room the next day, and it was much better, though a little outdated. The room is cleaned every day. The fridge is restocked every other day. The first few days you are there, there are people constantly after you to buy spa treatments or go to a meeting and learn about the Prime membership. It's pretty annoying. Not only do you have vendors on the beach, but you have hotel staff after you as well. My husband and I love the beach, and one of the things we love is the Bali beds. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because of them. It doesn't say anywhere on the website that these are for DC only, but apparently, they are. We were told by a security guard that it was DC even though 75% of them were empty. Another time, I had an issue making a reservation. We went to see someone, only to be told they usually only help their members. Everything seems to be extra. You want lobster, it's extra, you want a really good steak, it's extra, you want rose wine, it's extra. We were at the Majestic Mirage a few years ago, where we could have had lobster every night, we had crab, shrimp, paella for lunch every day. At the Royalton, it was hamburgers, hot dogs, and pizza (to be fair, the restaurant on the beach was closed for repair). We felt like second-class citizens, those who don't pay extra, go and stay in your little corner and don't ask for more. There were some positives. The grounds are immaculate, the food was okay; however, the ZEN à la carte was amazing. The entertainment was good. For the most part, we didn't have any issues making restaurant reservations through the app. Most of the staff looked like they did not want to be there; there were some that were very helpful. Fernando at the beach was great, and so was Raudi at the sports bar! One other note, this part of the beach has a lot of seaweed (we were there for 2 weeks, and only the last 2 days were seaweed-free). We had to walk to another part of the beach to find an area where there was none. If you are thinking of going to this resort, don’t; it's just not worth the money.

Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa: LResort

The hotel is on the smaller side of chain hotels but did not disappoint however we are not picky travelers. The staff were amazing, grounds were kept really well, rooms spotless. Food was average to good. The Indian Restaurant turning out to be our favorite! Nightly entertainment was a hit and miss some nights better than others but still entertaining none the less. Bars close early there so this is not a party resort. Nothing to do after 11pm but that was just fine with us. Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Not luxury at all

This hotel is simply the worst I’ve experienced. Very short staffed , bad food and management ! The closed restaurants and canceled reservations because they’re under staffed . Checking in took over an hour because they only have one person working the front desk ! They sell you on upgrading to diamond luxury club which is absolutely useless and waste of money They give you a butler that can’t do anything because the hotel can’t simply provide you with nothing ! Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Disappointing

Check-in was horrible. Waited 3 hours for our room as it was not ready. Our room needed updating, stains on bed sheets, bath tub was rusted and worn out. Ceiling fan covered in dust and mold. Buffet food was okay but the actual building needed upgrading. For example the walls and trim needed to be painted and the trim at least replaced as it was not attached to the wall most staff were friendly but some did not look like they wanted to be there. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Service is incredible

Hotel is spotless, cleaning service fantastic and the service was a five star. My only complaint is the relentless harassing of attending a presentation of a time share (though they never call it a time share but that’s what it is). However, in saying that, they were only doing their job and took us saying “no” in good humour. But it was constant repetition to convince you otherwise. Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa: Weather was beautiful

We have stayed at four Royalton resorts now. This one would be rated fourth. Don't get me wrong the view from the swim up rooms was amazing but that's where the amazing ended. The beach is very rocky and you have to pick your spot to walk in. The food I would only rate a 2 out of 5. They could work more on their butler skills as well. Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience at the Roylton Chic. Staffing - while some staff were great, shoutout to Raul, a great deal were not friendly. It was like we were bothering them. Food - this was a great disappointment. First dinner steakhouse, my wife had the Chicken brochette. Chicken pieces were so overcooked you could not eat it. Next morning we had a pickup at 9:30 to play golf. Went to the Diamond club for breakfast. Arrived at 8:45, ordered breakfast right away. Did not arri [... read more]ve and had to leave at 9:25 to catch our taxi. There was only one waitress serving the entire restaurant. Next night in the Italian, I ordered what was described as a variety of fresh fish. It was deep fried group of fish pieces that were so over cooked that tasted terrible. Then we had lunch at the beach restaurant. We ordered chicken wings, taco salad and a Caesar salad. The chicken wings sat under the warming lights for 30 minutes waiting for the salads. We had to ask the waiter what was the delay. He advised the cook was new and learning. Then we watched the cook and waiter use their bare hands to prepare the salads. We decided at that point to the leave the resort. We met with the Sunwing representative on sighr to file a formal complaint. That person Dubby was very good and assisted us wanting to know all the issues. We them met with the manager of the property to review our issues. We made arrangements to move to another resort. In 35 years of travelling, we have never left a resort due to issues. Sunning refunded us for the days we were on at the Royalton Chic but lost a full day of our vacation moving to the other resort. Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Worst experience ever!!

First time in my may may years of travel have I ever left a resort early. The noice from the pool and the construction/repairs was unbearable. Always being approached to buy spa packages from different employees. The food was terrible, always dry and overcooked. Service was non existent in many cases. Second day waited 45 minutes for our breakfast and finally had to leave as we were golfing. The final straw was when I watched my server reach over the kitchen counter and pick up all the ingre [... read more]dients for my salad with his bare hands and then watched the cook making the food ungloved and not washing hands- totally unacceptable! We moved to another resort after that. Sunwing did reimburse for the 4 nights, but did loose a day of vacation having to pack up and move.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Family fun

Lots of fun in the water park and pools. The beach was beautiful. We could only get into one À la carte restaurant as they were always booked, and the one we got into was not good, food was horrible. The food at the buffet seemed to be the same every day, so it got old, fast. The staff were good, helpful and friendly. Beautiful resort, sunny and hot the whole time, which was great! We all enjoyed ourselves except for the 2 days that my wife and I got sick

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Amazing Resort!!!

We had such a wonderful experience at Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The resort is beautiful, clean, and perfect for families; especially with children. The water park was a huge highlight for my kids, and there were so many fun activities throughout the stay. The food exceeded our expectations, with lots of variety and great quality at the restaurants and buffet. The entertainment team was fantastic, always frien [... read more]dly and energetic, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing while still being lively and fun. A special thank you to Eden Nail for all the help and support throughout the booking process and during our stay. Everything was smooth and well organized, which made our vacation even more enjoyable. Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Awesome way to celebrate our anniversary

Spent the week enjoying everything. From Edwardo in the hideaway buffet meeting us every morning with mimosas and coffee to Geronimo at the hideaway pool remembering our favourite drinks with his great sense of humour. Can’t forget Alex at the Zen for providing a great meal along with providing the energy to make the night most enjoyable. The beach, the rooms, the service, the food was definitely over the top. Only home for a few days and already missing it.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great for the price

We thought I was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and energetic. We enjoyed how close the pool and restaurants were to our room. Seating at both the beach and pool was limited after 9 am.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Amazing Clean Resort

It was a 10 out of 10. Food was excellent, pools exceptional grounds were very clean. There was a cleaning staff throughout the resort. The restaurants were great. The entertainment was awesome. The rooms were great ? The maids did a great job cleaning all the rooms.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Medicore resort at best

Royalton Splash was quite run down in comparison to other Royalton resorts (including the sister resort next door) that we’ve stayed at. The buffet food was repetitive and often cold. The staff at breakfast were grumpy and barely tended to the tables. The butler was absolutely useless all he did the entire vacation was book 3 al a carte restaurants. We did not get the beach bag, bottle of wine, bottle of champagne or snacks in the room as advertised. He msged us daily asking where we were and no [... read more]t once did he connect with us on the vacation in person other than the first day and last day when he expected a tip. The pool tiles were falling off and my daughter cut the top of her foot the first day on them in the main pool. The pool entertainment was lousy and often didn’t start until 3pm. The beach was beautiful sand and well kept. The beach chairs however were literally on top of each other and not spaced out it was impossible to enjoy without 10 people around you at all times. They were all piled at the top of the beach ways away from the water and squished together like sardines. Was to uncomfortable. The room had a weird pull out bed when advertised with 2 queen beds. The shower leaked into the hallway and into the toilet area. The door lock did not work. The back patio door had no handle. The drawers would often open and get stuck. There was no hair dryer in our room at all. The flight on the way had none of the upgrades that were paid for. The seats were uncomfortable, 3 in a row (not the double comfy seats as advertised). I had to pay for drinks and meals which were advertised as included. The way home was perfect as anticipated and the plane food and service was amazing.

Royalton Grenada Resort and Spa: Great Vacation!

I stayed here for a week in April and the resort was lovely, clean and the food was fantastic. The beaches were beautiful although a bit rocky getting into to the water but once in it was beautiful. I would say not as grandeur as other Royalton Resorts I have stayed at but still a wonderful resort. The staff are amazing and so friendly it made it easy to relax. Rooms were standard and very clean. Overall it was a very relaxing vacation and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Terrible service

The grounds were well maintained and spacious. The service was one of the worst I had ever had for an all inclusive. Going for dinner, to just get a drink we would have to hunt down a waiter for it. Even once we had found one, our drinks would never come until mid dinner. Our rooms - we came in on the first night with no AC. They wouldn't switch rooms for us until they could fix it. Once they couldn't fix it, they said they would switch the rooms but we can have it until 5pm this was at  [... read more]10am when we reported it. We had to carry our baby around the resort until 5pm couldn't give them a nap. I would never book a Royalton resort again.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Absolutely amazing resort

This hotel is unbelievable, me and my husband just got back and are already talking about booking again. The staff are so friendly and accommodating but we want to.send a special thank you out to our butler's Stef and Luis who went above and beyond for us. Our swimup bartender Luis who knew we needed another drink before we even asked and our sweet inside waitress Ava who always made us feel so special and put a huge smile on our face. We absolutely lived the fact that the beach was right next to the pools. Oh and the food was phenomenal, I can not say enough to praise this resort. If you are thinking about going do it, you will not be disappointed. If you like a resort that has an upbeat atmosphere. Or if you're looking for a quiet spot, this resort has it all.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Not worth the money

I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. Service was very slow and the staff weren’t very friendly or helpful. We had to ask numerous times for towels, robes and never got everything we asked for. The foam machine broke down and never happened at all. Wave runner was broke and despite being told it was being fixed we never saw anyone fixing it. The Italian restaurant served us raw food and ran out of dessert twice. We booked this resort because we were happy with the Royalton in St.Lucia but we were very disappointed with this one. We would not book again.
