Awesome Resort!

The Hotel was beautiful, different events happening every night and day. The Rooms were Great Came fully stocked with mini bar and big beds. The staff were amazing always around when needed. Would return!

Average Resort - Super Friendly Staff, Clean Resort

This resort is newer and in great shape. The staff were super attentive and very friendly, food was good for the most part. We received a "raw" hamburger - super rare/red - so be sure to request how you want your meat cooked. The resort was not very full when we were there (went with my husband) making it very easy to get a good location at any pool or beach and no line up to enter any restaurants (a bonus)! They h [... read more]ad a few odd restrictions, we found strange they wouldn't let you turn the chairs in the pool areas to face the sun, even if you were not blocking anyone, baffled me (told at the Xhale pool). We were told it was upper management rules. They also have a fairly large section blocked off (1/3rd of the pool) in the Xcelerated pool at the end of the resort that is reserved for anyone who will pay for champagne (minimum bottle was over $100 US increasing to $4,000), nuts!! I only saw a few people in that section throughout the week. It was explained that it was to bring in more profits for the resort. The entertainment/DJ is in that area, if want to be in that section buy a bottle of champagne or you have to remain in the pool, very odd. Seemed to be more than half ages 18-35 but there were some more our age which is 45-55 when we were there! If you have been to a Dreams or another Breathless you can expect the same type of resort and service. We've been to a few and find them very similar though not the crazy rules/restrictions. We travel 3-4 times over each winter. Overall it is a nice resort, read all reviews before deciding, this was just mine opinion.

Amazing resort!

The service and each and every member of the staff was just excellent! The facilities are also awesome, everything you need is always there. Great views of the ocean, the xhale area was quiet and relaxing. Food is ok. Mexican restraunt was excellent.

Great stay!!

Wasn’t sure what to expect t but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was really nice - rooms were great... good ac, clean, comfortable, spacious. The resort is a little ways away from Cancun, but unless your plan is to be in the city, you don’t need it. The hotel definitely has a constant “club” vibe, with each music, but there are areas to escape, and the people do not always reflect that same vibe. It just gives a lot of energy. The entertainment staff were amazing, and I would come back for them - they really make the stay so enjoyable. 2 things - it’s best to upgrade. We got in a room right outside the disco and it was Unreasonably loud and very difficult to get a good sleep. It didn’t ruin our stay, but I’d absolutely make sure to stay in the quieter area so I can choose when I want noise next time. The pool area is also “lined” with a really rough stone... it will ruin your bathing suit bottoms and it’s kind of rough on the skin (and manicures ladies!). Again, it’s not a dealbreaker but it was really tough for a whole week. And we could have gone to the beach (small but sufficient) but just enjoyed the pool.

Would not recommend

Food was good, drinks were good, entertainment was the same every day just different outfits, couldn’t move lawn beds at all which was annoying because they were not always facing the sun just found this resort had too many rules

Nice place but never return

Exacly what I needed

I chose Breathless Riviera Cancun to have the best of all worlds: a packed activities schedule, ample relaxation, tasty dining experiences, and friendly customer service. I traveled alone but never felt lonely with the kind and attentive recreation, bar, and wait staff. The resort is fairly new with beautiful, clean, modern rooms. The entertainment was awesome; I enjoyed the bubble party and the daytime pool and poolside fitness classes. I'm not much of a night club person but after dark there was great music (sometimes live), lights, and a wonderful crowd of fellow happy vacationers that I did enjoy briefly before going to sleep. I went in November when there was intermittent rain but still had a great time. My only words of caution are: (1) Please be careful when the floors outside of the rooms are wet because they can be quite slippery. (2) I'm from Vancouver so I know and love Asian food. The resort's Asian-themed restaurant's hibachi grill was a lot of fun and definitely something to reserve for but I'd suggest saving the sushi for when you're back at home.

Amazing resort!!

Probably one of the best resorts! Everything and everyone was amazing from the second we walked in they made us feel so special! The resort is very clean and kept very well, if anything would spill they were ready to clean! My best friend and I spent most of our time on the activities side since we did not want to leave the resort we needed things to do and The E-TEAM did not disappoint they were absolutely amazing! Ulisses is the team supervisor and he clearly knows what he’s doing [... read more].. Sandra, Moon, Natalia, Dora and Alexandro were my favourite they had energy they were fun, they always wanted to make sure we were having fun and truly we had a blast they really know what they are doing I would go back simply for them!! Truly an amazing entertainment team!! Twist and squeeze had two bartenders both named Fernando and they were 110% the best!! They made great drinks consistently! They were so attentive and they will make you a drink till the last second and even a little past the closing time! The restaurants were impeccable but our favourite restaurant for many reasons was the French one! The food was amazing (I recommend the beef medallion) but the service truly was mind blowing, Misael was our server both times and he is absolutely extraordinary 10/10 would recommend!! Kibbeh was also a great one and Sergio will make sure you leave with a smile on your face!! We are definitely coming back!!!

Amazing resort

Everything was good we loved everything about the resort and we loved are room very nice we would recommend this resort to everyone. The beach was alright they do a good job on getting the seaweed out.

Cool resort, but wouldn't go again

We stayed in the exhale section of the resort. was exactly as promised, nice and quiet. The good: Resort was beautiful, rooms were nice and roomy, food was great. resort wasn't overly big so it was easy to walk to everything. Entertainment was really cool. Pools were great, and each one has it's own vibe, party, energetic or relaxed (relaxed is only for xhale). if you stay in xhale make sure you do the hydro therapy sessions, it was super cool experience. The bad: Even though they are always working on clearing the seaweed, there was always sea weed in the ocean so not many people swimming in the ocean. There were a few hiccups like the room key not working, or the ipad in the room not working, but they concierge was pretty quick to fix those issues. we didn't get turn down service or our fridge refilled everyday, but we just called down (for the fridge part at least) and they sent room service up to fill it. also fridge wasn't very cold and that seemed to be a constant complaint for lots of people staying there. Although they advertise as all included (including tips) make sure you tip, you get better service. we even had one staff at the buffet complain about us not tipping him (we forgot our cash in the room that morning) The ugly: not a resort you want to go to if you are into water sports. we couldn't snorkel because of all the sea weed, you could kayak and paddle board and got to go on a little sail boat which was fun. no scuba center or anything like that so definitely not the place if you want to scuba or snorkel. Tips if you stay in Xhale: Make sure you get the bottle of champagne and the 200 ml bottle of belvedere vodka they promise on the website. ( we had some difficulty getting it, had to call down several times) take advantage of the hydrotherapy ( on the website it says once per stay but when we got there it was once per day so that was a nice surprise). you are also supposed to get a beach bag in your room that you can keep so make sure you get that, it's kind of cute) overall a nice resort but i wouldn't stay there again.

5 star resort!

Amazing resort with top notch service. Very high quality, clean and great food. Endless activities - the E team made things fun always. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone and will definitely be going back.

Beautiful resort

I usually never write reviews but I feel that based on a few of the issues; a review is warranted ...The check in process is a little too long; they don’t offer you welcome drinks; water etc while you wait, you wait in line with everyone else checking into the resort With one girl doing all the check ins with many others staff standing around, after you check in you have to see another person that takes you thru all the specials the resort offers; spa, dinner specials etc... you then have to  [... read more]wait again for your luggage and to be shown to your room; still 1.15 hours later we were not offered a drink while standing and sitting around. The staff doing the check in were not overly happy or friendly ... I thought this would be a place they want to leave you with a good first impression ... We got to our room only to find out we have two double beds: bearing in mind that we are away as a couple for the first time without kids in years so this was a let down; when we asked about a king bed we were told they don’t have one in the resort available - BUT the next check in guy tells us the hotel is at 65% capacity? Doesn’t make sense... on day 3 of 5 they called us and asked if we wanted to move... we choose to stay where we were to avoid spending time packing up agains and unpacking when we only had a 5 day stay, we wanted to make the most of our time not spend it shuffling rooms. After checking in we went to the jacuzzi pool and went to get a drink; walked up and got totally shafted and ignored and were told they are closed! That they closed that bar at 4pm!! Insane! Two bars- swim up and main pool by 5pm were shut down and no pool side servers around ... we had to walk to the grill bar to get drinks to bring back and sit in the jacuzzi with! We didn’t think much of it just went on with our day that maybe it’s the end of the day and that’s why staff are grumpy/ bar is closed etc; this wasn’t the case all week we got VERY little good service unless we had a 5$ bill in hand; and we do tip at every drink delivery even if we wait an hour for service... we aren’t cheap people ... but the service was subpar all week and I think that bothered us most.. we truly had high expectations after reading so many good reviews ... it was a let down ... The rooms are very clean and well kept; the resort itself is amazingly beautiful, beaches have a ton of sea grass but they maintain the ocean front very well... the poolside entertainment is on the lower end and no nightly entertainment except one night in the theatre. The spa gift card we got from Wendy for 200$ was not valid for a massage we were ONLY allowed to use 40$ of the gift card towards the service .... again totally letdown as I wasn’t going to pay 150$ American for a massage and only 40$ of the gift certificate was able to be applied .. it was a total “spring” break feel by day 3 with the level of partying and drunks; this part doesn’t bother me because everyone should have fun while they vacation! The food made both my husband sick and in the bathroom most of the vacation .... again I don’t ever post reviews but I’ve never been to a resort where I felt so many things went wrong and the service was ultimately kinda blah .... we left feeling pretty let down ...

The name of the resort says it all

Breathless was an awesome resort to go to if you want to have a good time that involves both partying and quiet beach time. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the party, head to the beach and while you can still hear some of the music it's not nearly as loud and invasive. I also get the impression that this is a weekenders resort with it filling up to capacity on Friday - Sunday and with Monday and Tuesday being quieter days. We were there Thursday to Tuesday and definitely noticed the change in population. Food represented a good menu that all inclusive resorts have. I would highly recommend the flambe show at La Coquette with Antonio, off menus items (ask Esmeralda, she was fantastic) at the Strip, Nook had awesome gelato and chocolate croissants. The staff was amazing and very helpful if needing anything. Key stars that stand out include: Lisa and Moon (from E-Team) were great with the water aerobics and made it a lot of fun. They also played the most random Texas Holdem and Blackjack rules (resort rules I guess :)) that were a blast and we totally got swindled by Moon at darts. Mack was an awesome bartender at Xhale who was ready to make your stay perfect from check in to check out. Always attentive and a smile on his face. Angel at the swing bar slinging great mango whiskey and other specialty drinks with amazingly good wood fired pizza. Manuel at Spoons always made you feel like you're eating at home with a put of coffee in one hand, and a shot of tequila in another if that's your thing. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend going for both couples and singles alike!

Exquisite attention to detail.

The hotel was just breathless! Very clean and so much attention to detail! Workers and staff everywhere all the time working very hard to ensure all the guests have a beautiful place from the beach to the front gates! Each was very clean at all times. The only down sides I would have to say is that their 24 hour buffet isn’t 24 hours. It closes at 4pm daily and the main restaurants are open only at 6 so you have to go to the beach pool area for burgers etc. Room service was great but alway [... read more]s 1 hour wait so make sure you aren’t starved! Also on the last night before we left I had put my two piece bikini on a chair on our swim up patio to dry, which is accessable only to the other 4 rooms adjacent to us by pool, when I woke up in the morning to get the suit, my bottoms were missing. I checked the pool and the area around, also in our room in case I miss placed it. I waited till getting home to check my baggage thoroughly and yup they were taken. I don’t know why someone would take someone’s bikini thongs, I know they were super cute cause I bought them just for this trip, Anyhow other than that I have no complaints about this place! Don’t get talked into the “club” presentation. We were told it would take 90 min but 2 1/2 hours later, 😳 but they paid for our excursion and a show so I guess it was worth it.

Do not waste your money

Party hotel do not go here. We were so desperate to leave I tried to go home early but no help from anyone. I felt like I was being held hostage. I am going to leave it at that. The people were good though

Fantastic Vacation

This resort was absolutely gorgeous. This fairly new resort is flawless. The room was the prettiest room that we have ever stayed in. The huge glass shower is very luxurious and the iPad to run the room is unique. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and served by very attentive waiters. We were impressed with the fact that every restaurant greeter asked if anyone in our party had allergies. We were in the Exhale club which I highly recommend. No need to catch a cart or train. We will definitely return to this resort.

Well laid-out resort

The hotel was very well laid out. We stayed at the exhale and the service was fantastic. The grounds were kept clean and tidy. The food was fantastic and the main buffet was exceptionally good. Housekeeping a mini bar staff kept everything up-to-date everyday. The rooms we're modern up-to-date and spacious. I'd highly recommend this resort. Gary

Beautiful resort

Rooms and food was excellent! The pools were also wonderful but the beach had a lot of seaweed. The staff was very friendly and courteous. All of the restaurants had a good selection of food and the service was great. Highly recommend the Teppanyaki at the Silks restaurant.

Breathless Punta Cana much better

I have travelled all over the carribean and have twice visited Breathless Punta Cana so I thought I would give the Cancun Riviera a try. I would not give it as glaring a review. The property has great staff and they work hard to make you feel welcome. That can not be said about the management who are rude and abrupt. I was charged for extra cleaning of my room because of a cut I had that stained sheets and a pillow. The Mexican and the Buffet were very bad. I am not a food complainer either. Bartenders were amazing and top shelf liquor was available. Property very nice. There are two accessible pools for those that don't stay at Xhale club. One pool was so high volume techno beat with same music everyday you got a headache. The other pool was very crowded with very drunk people. I am a guy who likes to have a good time and let loose but this place was almost like spring break. I really love the Mexican people and the workers at this resort. The management who are stubborn don't listen not so much!

Spectacular resort

The hotel, staff and service was exceptional. Very clean and friendly.....Food was fantastic and great entertainment for all......Loved it and would do it again anytime..... Highly recommended.......great resort for singles aged 25-70
