Still the number one party hotel

everything was great , food, ambiance, staff & great vibe & great people. they could do a better way to make reservation at the a la carte restaurants on the resort. but most defintely its an experience that anyone should try at least once :)

Couldn’t be better!!

Travel agent Brenda was amazing, all communications were on time and clear, flights were on time, Riu Republic was a great resort. Cleanliness, room service, staff, parties, entertainment, food and most importantly beaches, everything was top notch and we had a time of our lives. Will definitely go there again. We were there in late October and early November 2025.

Absolutely NOT

View wise it’s a nice sight.. but the whole place smells of mold especially the club it’s toxic! Most the rooms are leaking,alcohol is watered all the way down. Lastly I got food poisoning for days !!

Overall, if you want to party, this is the resort for it! Food was amazing, and customer service was 7/10 most times! A few things, At check in they gave me and my friends our room keys but never gave us any towel cards (We didnt even know these cards existed until we went to go get a towel). So we just air dryed all week. When we went to go checkout, they asked for out towel cards and we said we don't have one and the lady working the front said, $20 us dollars (per card, per guest) if yo [... read more]u don't give me a card. We all had to pay even though we all NEVER got cards. When me and my one friend were sleeping, a worker just opended our door with their key and said "hello", I replied and said "hello, could you pleaase come back so we can get ready for out day" (We just woke up at like 830am). the worker completly ignored me and started fixing stuff in the room and replacing things. When he left to grab some stuff I closed the door with the do not distub sign and he started banging until I opened it. Then he came in fixed whatever he needed to "fix" and replaced an alcohoal bottle. Other than those 2 things, overall great resort and a great time. This dosent happen to everyone, but just thought I would share my experiences!

Nice beach, but many rooms with no AC

Food was amazing, beach was nice. Not that much sargassum compared to other resort in Punta Cana. Not the bad, we were the first to exit the bus and reach reception and were given a room with no AC. We asked to change room and instead they insisted in sending someone to check the AC with took 3 hours. Finally they were forced to give us another room however they wanted to give us a room with 1 bed. We needed 2 beds. After arguing they finally gave us a room with 2 beds even tho they told us they [... read more] wasn’t any room available. 2 nd room no AC again. Went back to lobby, and they checked 4 different room and they could find a room with working AC. We arrived at 5pm and only finally got a decent room at midnight with working AC. In the meantime, a lot of people checked in and received a proper room. Few days after, the toilet bowl wouldn’t flush and we let reception know, they sent someone to check and he used a plastic bag to connected the string in the toilet bowl. After a few flush it wouldn’t work anymore. We had to put out hand water in the back of the toilet bowl to flush manually. Finally the swim up pool bar beside the beach, the water in the pool was very murky where you could barely see your feet. Everything else was fine. You can swim at any time during the day or night. This is a party hotel, clientele is very young. Early 20’s.

Riu Replublica Punta Cana

The hotel itself offers good amenities food and drinks but our experience was not very pleasant one Issues were not dealt with efficiently just a laid back approach Several requests made to have refrigerator fixed went unanswered absolutely nothing done Air-conditioner was noisy Sliding door broken shower broken and took a while to get fixed after constantly persisting Extra pillows and blankets were not provided until the 5th night on our 7 day vacation Horrible experience by the manag [... read more]ement and staff of this hotel Guess they made enough money and couldn't care less

Something for everyone

The resort itself beautiful. The bad: The rooms need a facelift. They are clean but the A/C wasn’t working and my TV wasn’t working either I was in room 2031. There was a funky smell maybe .. mildew?? And the elevators were temperamental, and the party pool was cloudy and gave me the ick .. but.. The good: ? Special thanks to WILFREDO and his team in the buffet! He and the team went out of thier way to make my friends 50th bday a special and memorable occasion! The attention to detail was incredible! They celebrated with us and became our vacay family! Thank you soooo much! There is definitely a little something for everyone at this resort!

Great Vibes, But a Few Frustrations

I recently stayed at the Riu Republica in Punta Cana and overall had a good experience. The rooms were always clean, the music was great, and the entertainment team really kept the energy up with fun parties and activities throughout the day and night. That said, there were a few downsides. I had ongoing issues with the room key cards – they stopped working every few hours, even though I kept them away from my phone and other electronics. It was frustrating to constantly have to go back to th [... read more]e front desk for replacements. Getting a reservation at the steakhouse was nearly impossible, which was disappointing. Also, the resort seemed to run out of pool towels pretty often, and I found that tipping was almost expected just to get basic service—not for anything above and beyond. All in all, I enjoyed my time—great atmosphere and fun crowd—but a few improvements on the service side would make a big difference.

Nice pools and beach

The hotel sold our room when our flight was delayed. They didn't give us clean bathmat or towels multiple times and threw our blanket on the couch. Servers seemed annoyed to be there. They would not give us dry beach towels. The pools were nice, drinks were good. Food was ok. Specialty restaurants are just themed buffets.

Loved the resort.

We enjoyed our stay at the resort. The food was great with lots of variety. The resort was well kept. The room was clean and the staff were all polite and helpful. It would be nice to have a boardwalk to get to the beach. The loose sand is very difficult to walk on especially since I need a walker due to knee and hip replacements.

Party Place

If you are looking for a place to party with lots of young people this is the place to go. Hallways are loud at night with people running around. Beautiful beach with lots of lounge chairs. Food was ok but not a lot of assortment. Steak house was good and would recommend going there, we went twice during our visit.

Average Resort

I was at this hotel 2 years ago, it is a beautiful resort. Have to be honest, I feel the integrity of the entire resort has gone down hill. The overall cleanliness is not the same. The steakhouse was the best. Staff are great. The evening events were amazing. It is a party resort for sure.

Disappointing trip!

Well it was a blend of loud, drunks, bed bugs, no plates at the Italian alacart or food! We walked 1 klm to the beach from our room! Two people almost drowned on the beach in one day! If you’re young this is fine however 50 plus don’t waste your time! Came home exhausted because the young drunk kids would scream in the halls till 4! The music was way over the top Loud! That pretty much sums up the disappointment!

Excellent Resort, Amazing Beach.

The hotel was great, it is known as a party hotel but there were plenty of quiet areas/pools. The beach was beautiful but the ocean is quite rough there so if you prefer calmer seas, I would recommend staying on the Caribbean side. The buffets were good, the a la carte we tried, The Steakhouse, was not that great, a few of the restaurants are closed so this was the only one we ate at. The room was spacious and clean. Requests for more blankets, towels, water, etc. were handled quickly.

Go elsewhere

We found the buildings to be rundown, 90% of staff clearly didn't want to be there . For a party resort , there really wasn't much to do . The night shows were good . Food mediocre ( don't bother with the steakhouse ) Wouldn't go back or recommend to friends/ family

Party Resort

Lovely looking, great buffet, AMAZING STAFF Nice room, beds are very firm! Wasn’t impressed with the 2 specialty restaurants we tried; steak house and Italian. The BEST was JERK CHICKEN! Beach was perfect and quieter place to relax during the day! Enjoyed the entertainment and once again the staff! LOUD, if you want a place to party with a lot of noise everywhere, including the hallways, this is for you! Suits the 20/30 ish crowd for sure!

Amazing Risort

Nuestra estancia en este Hotel fue maravillosa todos los servicios son muy buenos los empleados son excelentes su alegria y cordialidad se siente muy bien, la comida variada y perfecta lo recomiendo Mucho.

Hotel needs help

We have stayed at many Riu’s, and this was bar far the worst managed. In fact, there was no management anywhere to be found. From not having proper rooms to accommodate our group size ( no double or queen beds), to non existent rules for at least wearing shorts/t-shirts to restaurants. Ppl would come wearing bathing suits at all hours. The food was good, and I’m lucky we are a very flexible family. The staff tried, mostly. Party hotel

Hotel itself was very clean, most of the staff they are helpful and nice. The only complaint was the room keys always not working. And my room more close to the beach, so I need to back and forth few times to the front desk. Beach was amazing and lot of chairs and shade area under palm trees. Room was decent.
