Great relaxing place!

The Tui Sensimar part of the resort is in pristine condition. The food is very good and consistent especially the a la carte restaurants. We were here last year and the beaches are even cleaner. The 13 bars are filled with top shelf alcohol and the bartenders love mixing drinks that are not diluted. The service is superb. The staff always have a smile whether you tip or not. Enjoyable resort

I would rate this complex very high but with one major fault. The beach sand area is perfect but one can't enjoy the water. 80% of the water area is covered in sharp jagged rocks. An area sectioned off for swimming isn't very deep and after walking out 200 yards the water level is about 2 feet deep and still has rocky areas.

Karisma is the best

We have been to Eldorado Sensimar suites many times and this time did not fail to meet our expectations yet again. The grounds are amazingly well kept and clean. The Bali beds are plentiful and as long as you don’t want a particular spot you can usually get one without getting up at the crack of dawn. The only thing I did see this time was staff putting towels down and reserving them for people early. That’s new I haven’t seen that in the past. If you prefer newer then opt to stay in premium section or over on the Seaside suites side. The food seemed better than usual. We eat early so getting a table wasn’t hard other than the one night we decided to eat later and couldnt get in anywhere except the former pub. We have always been lucky with having an amazing concierge but this time there was a new one and we was not as helpful or accommodating. We did request that my son and daughter in laws room be decorated for her birthday celebration and it got done after the second reminder. Our flight down was delayed by 8.75 hours and so we missed our entire first day at the resort and scrambled to have our private transport times adjusted after numerous delays for our flight. I felt like Trip Central was not caring in this regard as our only response was “ we have no control over delays”. We spoke with travel agents on our flight who were very helpful and gave us information regarding compensation and told us that they even submit the claims for their clients. We called the help line for trip central and were told someone would contact us in 24 hours but nobody contacted us. Over all the resort is amazing and we highly recommend it especially for couples. They are not great accommodating groups of 4 or more in the restaurants without reservations but we went to the bar to have a drink and wait so for us we didn’t mind.

Great Resort that can be amazing

So many good things to say about rooms and facilities and events that all added up to a fantastic getaway. In absence of a litany of small service glitches bI would call this perfect. eg the concierge suggested we pick a time for our room cleaning which we did but then it was never done within 3 hours of that time. Dinner serving staff (though all friendly) varied widely in their serving skills. These were less concerning than surprising given the service from all other staff. Excellent Resort!

Love the nature surrounding and the beach. All staff are friendly, courteous and excellent in their service. You will never be bored, fantastic day and very entertaining evening activities. Would highly recommend thos resort.

Decent Vacation

The hotel was very nice. Rooms were clean and updated, we stayed at The Seaside Suites section. Food was decent, staff were friendly and went above and beyond to try and make our stay special. I was really impressed with the staff. My one major criticism is the evenings, there is no real comfortable lounge/ common area where you can enjoy a drink or two and entertainment in the evening hours after dinner. We found ourselves going to bed early every night as there was no where really to hang out  [... read more]and relax. They did have shows certain nights, but they were always in different places and accompanied by wooden chairs, often not enough for everyone watching, and definitely not a comfortable relaxing environment. This would be the one major improvement they need to make having stayed at many all inclusive resorts. Pools were clean, and overall the facilities were great.

Paper thin walls

The grounds are nice and tropical. I do not recommend staying in the infinity building. The views were beautiful but you can here everything, your neighbour s tv, talking, walking in the hall ways. You hear everything. The floors in your room were always wet due to condensation. The swim up pool was too cold, so we never used it. I. recommend to stay on the palm side, the only down fall is that it’s hard to get chairs or Bali beds unless you want to get up at 6am. A lot better on the infinity [... read more] side. The bars seems to serve you there knock off liquor. So hard to get Kailua at the bars. Don’t understand why they would not stock Kailua since that’s were it’s mad in Mexico. The main pool bar poured there knock off coffee liqueur in the kailua bottle thinking we wouldn’t know the difference because we asked for it everyday. We were so tried looking for it, we went into town and bought our own Kailua. There was 3 bartenders that were awesome they would go search for it. Nigel Sanchez, Jose Angel & Victor Manual Ucan. Melissa, head waiter in the Mexican bar did her best to accommodate us. We found her to be head and shoulders above any other Maitred’’s. The entertainment in the day was terrible. We did enjoy the food, no complaints there. We did not have a bad meal in any of the restaurants.

Beautiful Resort to Celebrate Our Honeymoon

My husband and I traveled to El Dorado Seaside Suites to celebrate our honeymoon in early January 2020. For the most part, I would say it was fantastic and we cannot wait to return. - The facilities and resort grounds are kept up impeccably. There's so many people working tirelessly to ensure that everything looks beautiful and it certainly pays off. You will go there and feel like you are in paradise! - They have lots of food options and for the most part it does not disappoint. The only neg [... read more]ative experience that we had was at the Gourmet Pub. Not sure if it was an off night but both the ribs and steak were extremely over cooked. Other than that there is tons of variety and the staff is extremely attentive to dietary restrictions - The pools are wonderful and they provide lots of options for relaxing around the water. We never had an issues finding a place to put our towels and enjoy some reading - The beach is a bit disappointing... They block off the water (probably for safety purposes, so that is appreciated) but you can really only go "swimming" at a wading level. Plus it's not the best beach to walk up and down (lots of rocks and the sand isn't soft). This isn't a break or break for us but it could be for some people - Concierge adds a nice touch to your stay but I would say some are more attentive than others to their guests - AMAZING entertainment. No matter what there's always something going on and it is really great quality Thank you so much to all of the people that work so hard at the resort for their guests! You truly gave us a wonderful time and we are very grateful.

El dorado sea side Mexico

This was an absolutely amazing resort! Everything from staff, activities, food, & beach was fabulous. Concerige was a big plus. All the speciality restaurants were great with absolutely delicious food and great service. The hydrotherapy at the spa was an experience within itself.

Great for couples

Was a beautiful resort and you are never very far from getting drinks or food. The staff are friendly but this resort is more for couples who want to relax. If you are looking for a party this is not it.

A side for almost everyone!

The Eldorado Seaside Suites hotel area is made up of 3 resorts, El Dorado Seaside Suites (a 2 building complex with an infinity pool on each of the 6 floors), Hidden beach (A nudist area, in the middle for some reason) and Sensimar, a quieter complex covering a larger amount of area but with multiple 2 story buildings. The Seaside Suites area offers great views, and a more modern room layout, the rooms had plenty of space, comfortable beds and a great view of the ocean. However with the main [... read more] pool complex being directly below, and it being more of the party side, the sound travelled up so for those who would like their stay to be more on the quiet side I would suggest looking at booking on the Sensimar (non swim up) side. The Seaside Suites (SS) beach area was also a little lacking compared to the Sensimar side, while the SS side had some rocky out croppings, the sensimar side was smooth and close to the Maroma Beach area in terms of quality. Food is near top quality rivaling, each meal at the ala carte restaurants rivaling a slightly higher priced restaurant in Canada. Adding Alcohol into the mix you can almost get your value from the meals you are eating alone. All in all a top quality resort that I am happy to recommend to friends and family. Only slight issues we had was some electrical problems with the lights at our last day and the fact that you get asked to go to the spa every hour and a half or so (just don't make eye contact)

Not impressed!

Would not go back! For a hotel with a lot of experience this misses the mark on so many levels. It had a choice of several restaurants but you had to book at least two days in advance and even then you could not get in. In walking past the restaurants they were never full and it looked like they did have adequate staff to wait on customers. I did not travel 3500 miles to eat buffet food! The hotel room service was sporadic, there was never a day when you had complete towel service. The [... read more] bins for beach towels was available for use on 7 to14 days, the washrooms ran out of toilet paper, the 4 hot tubs did not work! The rooms were a little tired! We have been to over 12 local resorts in the Mayan Riviera and thus would rate as a 2 out of 5

No friendlier place on earth

Very very friendly staff. The kitchen was even so good to make us special food upon request two times. Rooms are clean, fridge stocked. Very nice grounds. Loved the outside eating areas, the live music outside, the outside bar with the swings. Was missing a nice coffee bar. The one in use wasn’t the greatest. Lounging at the beach is a treat. Loungers, beds, and even hangmats. The beach itself is a little disappointing with the shallow water to swim in, due to the sandbags needed to prote [... read more]ct the beach. El Dorado Seaside Suites

We sought out a resort which would not only allow us to relax but would also provide an elevated dining experience. El Dorado definitely delivered on all counts! The staff were wonderful and aimed to please. In a resort with 600 rooms there are 1200 staff members. The culinary staff put pride into their work and it showed on the plate. The overall experience provided us with the most relaxing vacation we have ever had.

5 stars!

This resort was amazing! From the food to the staff and service, you really couldn’t be treated more like royalty. The personal concierges make sure that you have everything you need and more, the service staff provide top notch quality service, and the atmosphere of the resort is friendly and fun. Many bars and restaurants to choose from, and fun daily activities and events right there. Definitely plan on going back!

Great place to be

Everything was amazing here. The room was new, modern and huge. The unlimited room service was a savior for me and the food at the restaurants were was always fantastic. All the service was great, I have no complaints about any of it.

Great Vacation Spot!

Everything is top of the class in this resort, above all is the food quality that is top notch! The night entertainments can be improved, but this is not to say there is not plenty to do already. Definitely recommend, especially to couples looking for a peaceful and restful get away!

Very nice resort

Although we stayed in the older part of the resort, it was well maintained. There were several restaurants to choose from and all of the ones we went to were terrific. All of the restrooms were cleaned very frequently. This resort had a great range of guests from young couples to seniors and it was easy to share tables if needed. The staff in all parts of the hotel were friendly and happy. We enjoyed our 1 week vacation very, very much.

Can’t wait to return!!

The resort is gorgeous and immaculate. The staff go above and beyond at all times. I have never stayed anywhere else that pay so much attention to the guests. Entertainment was awesome!! Great bands. 80’s, Jazz, reggae. The had it all. The food went beyond anything I imagined. Definitely try the “Stone Soup” it’s so good!!! Would highly recommend this resort!! It was the most relaxed I’ve ever been on any vacation. The spa is not to be missed.

Winter Escape

This will be my first time writing a resort review, but I thought I had some good information to share. I will start with saying that the El Dorado Seaside Suites is a very large property, however they have shuttle service that runs very frequently so if you have mobility issues it would be too hard to walk every where being so spread out. It is also over 80km from the Cancun airport so take note of the long drive to your destination depending on the time you arrive, we happen to hit rush ho [... read more]ur and it was pouring rain adding more time to the trip,so it felt like a very long drive. The food is amazing ... with many dining options. There is a Starbucks in building 6 but take note it is not included in your package so you will be paying for that separately, two Cappuccinos was about $8 US and they didn't seem to have any evening hours, so we just started ordering our coffee at the restaurants .. A coffee bar would have been nice at certain times... They offer plenty of daytime activities, wine and tequila tasting, foam party in main pool, name that tune, coconut painting to name a few and the entertainment team were awesome. They are plenty of things to attend in the evening after dinner.... they had a fire show, and a circus show while we were there and often different areas that have things going on rather then at a main theatre like other resorts but, there is entertainment, it just seemed to be a little more low key and on a smaller scale. We had a oceanfront swim up jacuzzi suite, in the Infinity section. It was on the 2nd floor and from our deck there was a lazy river that ran around the side of the building, at first I thought this would be great however it was covered and shaded so the water was very cold. The lower level oceanfront pool swim out rooms have direct access to the main pool but take note those rooms seemed to only get sun in the morning and do cost more. I would say it was harder on the Infinity side by the pool to get full sun then shade and usually its the other way around, finding shade is never a problem here the seating areas around the pool have tons of palm trees above you. If your a sun worshiper you might want a spot on the beach instead, but the beach on the Infinity side is not great for swimming its very rocky. But there is a lovely sandy beach on the palm side of the resort for wading but again no swimming its very shallow. So if your a beach lover you may be disappointed. The resort staff are wonderful no complaints. I think this resort is very suitable for some much needed R& R, its a nice winter escape, it offers great service, great food, comfy beds and nice clean rooms everything is well maintained and all deserve the 5* rating. However for me I didn't like the access to the pool (climbing a few levels of stairs to get into the pool )and the beach was not my favorite and then the long drive from the airport so for those personal reasons I may not recommend this property.
