Amazing - Paradisus Los Cayos

This hotel is very modern, rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfortable! It is a very relaxing atmosphere and everyone from customer service, room attendants, bartenders and servers are so cordial and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!

Impressed!!

Beautiful resort, we enjoyed every day there. Beautiful resort and awesome beach. The only minor setback was food shortages due to state of things in Cuba. Buffet was not as extensive as usual but still was very good. Great resort for the money.

Loved our stay at this hotel. The staff is absolutely amazing, attentive, caring and genuine. The beach is incredible with white sand and the bluest turquoise water. I picked seashells, floated in calm waters and jumped into playful waves all in the sane week. For a large hotel, it surprisingly felt very homey. We got to know the staff who always went above and beyond to ensure the best vacation for us, We stayed in one of the reserve swimout rooms. Lovely room with a standalone tub where [... read more] we could have warm bathes and a nice glass of wine overlooking the private terrace with a balinese bed stretching out to the swimout. Steps away from the Reserve allnight lobby bar with the best coffee and drinks of the entire resort!! What food shortages? We had lobster at one of the restaurants, and the next night it was also served at the buffet. Anything that wasn’t available was always provided with an alternative, and would usually be available the next day. I discovered Tasty Banana chips as a healthier fries alternative thanks to this hotel, and i certainly never felt lacking. Highly highly recommend!! This one is a hidden and under rated gem!!

10/10 Resort

Sure to please both adults alone and families.Rooms are clean, food is great and well presented, abundance of drinks. 24/7 room service, 24 hrs snack bar. My family has been 3 times and it is getting better year after year. The staff is professional and willing to go above and beyond.

Beautiful resort

The resort is fairly new and very beautiful but already in need of some small maintenance care . The workers are all five stars . Food was always plenty and we even had lobster for 3 different nights .

Good but could be better!

Purchased the Royal service but everything was not as it seemed. My sister and I were excited to have the works for this vacation. We had amazing butlers (Yassar & Jannah), but we slowly realized that the features we saw online were no longer in effect. No turndown service, no mini snacks, no ironing services, no pool towel bag and no pillow menu. We did get a beach and pool concierge but only after filing a complaint (we were ignored for over 2 hours and were the only people at the private pool [... read more]). While we typically go without these services, we did pay quite a bit more to treat ourselves, only to realize we didn't get much of an upgrade. The biggest disappointment was the food. We knew the reviews going into Cuba, however this was next level. The buffet was not good. Breakfast was the best meal (bread and eggs are great there), but do not come here expecting decent food. The a la cart restaurants were essentially the same meals but a change of protein (cabbage, mash and chicken one day and cabbage, mash and pork the next). Once again, we did complain to the food and bev manager (shoutout to Jerry), and there were some improvements made. I would note that this place doesn't do all the cute and fancy drinks. Only some of the bartenders there do (shoutout to Hector and Antony). Beach was BEAUTIFUL! This is the primary reason we came to this part of cuba. It did not disappoint!! The room was nice (we were given the wrong room upon arrival but got it switched) (shoutout to Dillarmi). A/C worked great and it was clean. Bed was comfy! The shows were nice. This is definitely not a party resort, its very very quiet. We did find a roach in the room the morning we woke up. I don't think this was due to the cleanliness of the room. Roaches were constantly outside. On the note of bugs, there is a SERIOUS MOSQUITO PROBLEM. Each night my sister and I got about 8-10 bites each night. It was terrible. We ended up with over 20 bites within the last two days. We are still itching haha. Seriously, beware. Wifi was a pain as you always had to sign in each time (kept getting disconnected) and you had to get your account renewed every 30 hours for wifi access. Overall we rate it a 7/10. Some of the staff were not nice but others were outstanding. We did complain to the GM, and were given complimentary items to make up for the poor service and that was appreciated. Would not come back here, but appreciated the effort.

Modern simple no frills, nice beach

Very important to bring increments of $5 bills, i made mistake of bringing 20's and 10s as hotel would not change canadian money into CDN. So had no choice but to tip big $10s and 20s ....cuban money is too low in value - workers prefer cdn US and Euro...so regarding tipping, important to plan ahead. Nice hotel, modern, Food is better in ala carts, Japanese was great. Due to low season, not much food was available, When arriving, fridge in room had no water or drinks and no coffee pods, so  [... read more]to have coffee had to go to bar and drop $5 tip. Prefer adults only resort. Beach was amazing, that is what carries the resort. Not enough to bring me back to this resort. Because dining is importsnt to me as well. Aquasize on beach was good. Better food options is very much needed at this resort, a little overpriced for what you get in return.

Great family resort for the price, we wanted a five star, and this could be it with some attention to detail

We had a fun time at this resort, the beach was absolutely beautiful. The service at the buffets and the beach bar was also good. The rooms were good, cleaned daily and restocked daily, the A/C worked well. The service at the snack bar and the bar beside the lobby was not good! Each time we went to both the snack bar and the lobby bar, we did not feel welcomed! The wifi kept disconnecting from the device so you constantly had to reconnect, as well, it was timed, so you had to go back to the  [... read more]lobby to ask for more time. My room also had an issue with the lock, so there were a number of times where I had to go to the reception desk to ask for the door to be unlocked and have my key reset. The resort also needed a fair bit of maintenance (roof work / paint). The hallways were never mopped, and the building roof looked like it was about to fall in some spots. Our last evening, it rained and the buffet and hallways were flooded, and the ceiling caved in in one part of the hallway. The restaurants were not the best. The worst part and the reason we will not return was that there were flies in the dinning room and cockroaches in the buffet, it was not one cockroach, it was an infestation. There were cockroaches running around in the bread, the plates, the other food stations, it was just gross! If the hotel got this infestation under control, and had more supervision around the cleanliness of the common areas, I would rate this resort higher, but as is, we will not return.

A Cuban Resort

As usual with Cuba, AMAZING people/staff, and AMAZING beaches. ROOMS - We had a swim up suite in family block and a regular suite in the family block on the second floor. Swim up suite was disappointing, I think we got the only one without an outdoor shower and bali bed. It wasn't very clean when we arrived, even though we had to wait for it to be cleaned, whereas the other room smelled nice and was very clean every day. FOOD - It's Cuba, so little variety. But they did their best. It woul [... read more]d have been nice to see some fries, at least, somewhere. No kids corner at the buffet. Snack bar only had pizza and sandwiches, sometimes no pizza. Smoothie bar had no smoothies. Only ice cream. I rarely saw the a la carte restaurants open. And only one buffet was open - the no "Market Grill", though people eating at the buffet sat there. And the buffet opened for dinner at 7pm! I personally think it's a little late, especially with kids. KID-FRIENDLINESS - Nothing advertised was open... there was no kids section of the buffet, the kids water park was closed off with red tape, and the park was in disrepair (found glass several times in the sand at the park). So, the kids section was always deserted. One poor guy sitting day after day, with no kids because the entire kid zone was basically closed (and our room faced this "kids park") All in all, I expected more from the resort.

Very new and beautiful resort

The resort is new with modern rooms and amenities. Beautiful beach with white sand and pristine water. Services were great and people very friendly. Entertainment with various shows and live cuban music offered every evening. We had a great time!

Great resort

Paradisus Los Cayos is a great resort in Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. The hotel is relatively new, the beach is stunning and the people working there are so nice. The food is not bad [for Cuba]. We didn't spend any time in the pools or the kid's area. This is definitely a beach resort!

Excellent week!

The Paradisus Los Cayos is a gem. The hotel, the grounds, the room, all was in excellent shape and maintained clean. Everyone was helpful, very polite and very friendly. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to the Royale Service with a swim up room. It gives you access to a private beach and what a beautiful beach. We walked the beach often, it is stunning. Beautiful modern resort

We were quite surprized at how beautiful this resort is. Our room was huge - two bathrooms both equiped with walk-in showers - a jucuzzi tub g- an open living space with big screen TV and walk out balcony. The resort is clean and well cared for however we did not get to experience the whole resort as a lot of it including the huge main pool was closed and a lot of restaurants as we were a week early before everything was opening with the expectation of the start of their busy season. Service  [... read more]was excellent but a lot of the staff do not speak english so we had a few hiccups there - i.e.: did not know there was a Bar or Snack Bar on the beach until our 3rd day and our last night we found the Sky Bar on the second floor - this was not communicated to us so best to do some major exploring the first day or two. The food at the buffet was not great (the same Cuban fare - rice, beans, chicken, pork) but the A la Carte food was quite good especially for Cuba. The grounds were well kept. The beach is beautiful. You have to remember that Cuba is having a really hard time right now getting everything right now so you have to expect to do without a few things - like premium liquor - some foods - and paper or cloth napkins (toilet paper is substited for napkins). All in all - the weather was good, the beach was amazing - and the resort itself was the best I have ever stayed at in Cuba.

A lot to desire

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. I would give it more like 3.5 stars, and that would be a bit too much. The Pros: The beach, Cuban coffee, the weather (lucky us!). The Cons: The price we paid for this hotel was not worth it. Food was no where close to a five star. Not even for one day we had deserts, except ice cream. Cleanliness was missing. Rooms were smelling of smoke, pool water was not cleaned even once. Broken glass in the pool and the beach bar area. Even after letting [... read more] the staff know, we cleaned that up ourselves because kids were running around. Very hazardous. Kids slides looked different than what you see on the picture, run down and unsafe. Alcohol choice was limited, and on some days they ran out of beer. There was a definite language barrier, as most employees do not speak any other language but Spanish. The worst part of the trip were the cockroaches, in the kitchen/ buffet area, on the trays with food in them. Maids were sweeping them off with a broom and that looked like a normal thing for them to do. I would not be returning to this hotel, nor recommend it to someone else. After speaking with other tourists from other hotels on our way back to the airport, they seemed to have had a better experience with cheaper hotels nearby. Clean, no cockroaches, lots of deserts, and friendly staff... and they never ran out of beer! Thanks to Adrian(buffet) and Jannet (kids entertainment) for making it somewhat better experience.

Great resort

Nice room, the beach is beautiful, the main swimming pool was a bit small. The bigger swimming pool was a bit far and there was no facilities there. I suppose the hotel provides lots of small pools in front of the accomodations that is why. Fish and shrimps were missing completely . Lack variety of food especially at Lunch and dinner buffet. Staff were very courteous and nice. The night shows were very good and interesting.

Was great to travel after such a long period

The goods: - Hotel was build around 3 years ago, it's very modern. - Arrived at hotel and was upgraded for free to a suit without request. - Complete hotel extremely clean. - Rooms have colorful light show to memorize your eyes. - Staff are so professional and curtious. - Took a massage $27 usa / 1 hour, amazing price and quality. - I returned a second time to Cayo Santa Maria cause they have in my opinion the most beautiful sand beach. - Got free wifi for all guests all week cause h [... read more]otel is used at 15%. - Very safe place. No thieves. The less goods: - Didn't appreciate having to wipe my face at the table with paper toilet provided by waiters. - Staff only speak Spanish and 10% English. - I could never serve myself, always feeling obligated to give tips, while not getting what i want. - Food always cold. Hardly any fruits, no vegetables except two last days saw cucumber and tomatoes. Mostly fried food and (sausage, salamies, bacon, cheese, rice, eggs). Surrounded by ocean but no fish on menu, except 1 night lobster tail. Pizza crust is a hard thin pita bread. Felt really hungry half the time. Buffet on certain evenings is closed and only a la carte restaurant. Spoke to high manager about food on last day, he says they are struggling with orders not coming in. Spoke to other guests in hotel, they paid extra for seafood buffet all week, that is not advertised. So hotel are able to have seafood, no excuse. - Some of the chairs in room were destroyed but left there. - Takes a bit of time for hot water to come. - Service is slow, waited 1 hour for butter. - Night entertainment are of lower quality, not everyone can see the show cause of the posts and people in the way. - Ordered brevages to room, but never got what I ordered, pretty easy asking coke or beer can for fridge, but not getting it. - There are maps, but 60% of hotel is closed. Every time directed towards a closed gym, closed massage. Struggled to find areas. Map not clear.

Great stay! But needs improvement

Fantastic stay. We just came back from Paradisus Los Cayos!! Beautiful weather and gorgeous beach. Hotel was stunning our room was beautiful however we had an issue with the cleanliness of it. We had to get it cleaned again. Towels for the beach and pool could never change. Used the same dirty ones all week 😞! Towels for the shower where new every day. Lots of locals !!! Pools : kid pool fantastic Adult poor only one small one for 400 people ( yes please don’t go ) lots is people who don’t leave the pool for 4 hours 😖( milky waters). Amazing staff. But they do tend to ask to change their Canadian to Cuban pesos which is not worth it for us . Don’t change your money they are good with Canadian dollars and bills. We asked. I would definitely go back. Due to Covid they is lack but nothing major to ruin your vacation. They try their best to make you happy. Jesus on the beach is amazing. He’s the sweetest!!

We had a wonderful time at Paradisus los cayos hotel for an all inclusive week from June 5 to 12.

The hotel is beautiful, new, modern, spacious and clean. All staff are very friendly and provide excellent service at the restaurant, bars, main lobby etc. The food was ok but a bit salty. We enjoyed the fresh fruits. The beaches are very beautiful. The internet was accessible everywhere at the resort. We were able to play tennis for 3 days with Alain, the tennis coach. He is very friendly and provided some techniques when playing. Very good coach! We will come back again.

Needs so much improvement!

Not very clean at all! Flies everywhere in all restaurants but especially at the buffet!! Food wasn’t great and not a lot of choices. We are not fussy eaters but we ate almost nothing! Not even at the a la carte restaurants. Everything looked like it was in a can and then dumped on our plates. Washrooms near the restaurants and bars absolutely disgusting!! This is the worst experience for us in Cuba! Clean and new

Very clean and nice resort. Beach is fantastic. As expected in Cuba, there is much to be desired for better food. Although there was always something to eat, the food was very repetitive…and no cream or milk one morning. For a 4.5 star hotel, that is almost unheard of. Staff were great…always smiling and gracious but communication can be a challenge. I would return there again but not for the price we paid.
