Quiet

This hotel is new and absolutely stunning. However, it was not designed for the average person to safely get around. Lights on the walkway at night reflected right into your eyes. Steps were not clearly marked and were the same material and colour making it easy to miss your footing. There was no shade. You need to walk through buildings just to get relief from the sun. Very quiet hotel and felt much like a ghost town.

The palladium

It was ok, the people on the beach were very rude. We had a baby and would ask for an umbrella, and they would say they have no more. I think you kept ur hand in ur pocket, they might help you out. I wasn't impressed..

Fantastic experience!

My wife, two children and myself were just amazed at the brilliance of the Grand Palladium! Every facet of the resort exceed our every expectation! We were in a loft suite in the Family Selection and we cannot recommend this area enough. From the private check in, to the 24 hour Family Host, and the overly attentive staff at every turn, we were felt to be special, unique individuals within a very large resort. My son was over the moon, when they brought us an XBox to our room for the week! As well, Monse adopted our 2 year old daughter, and treated her like a princess! Her nails have never looked so good! She took such good care of our children! The resort was fantastic! The shuttle and boat service was amazing! We never had to wait more than a minute or two to be taken to our destination. On the few times we chose to walk to the Village (or home to our room on the beach) it was such a serene and pleasant trip. The restaurants were awesome! All of the A la Carte’s had a kids menu as well, so we all could thoroughly enjoy our meals (and my wife and kids enjoyed the “fire coffee” show in the Mexican restaurant!). But by far, we loved the coffee shop the most! Red velvet cake every day! My son was in heaven! Strongest recommendation for the resort, and in particular, the Family Selection! We can’t wait to return!

Very nice resort with lots of potential

We stayed at the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres from March 12-19, 2019 with our two kids (5 and 7) and had a wonderful time. The resort is brand new, beautiful, clean and has modern amenities. The rooms are large, well equipped and no need to worry about a room key as your access wristband serves as your key. We were happy to walk, but others should be aware there is both a cart path and a canal transport to move around the resort if needed and you are willing to wait for an available ride. The grounds are well-maintained and will be even more impressive as they further develop. For those not staying at TRS or in the Family Selection section, there is access to 2 pools and the splash pad, Our kids loved them all, with lots of activities at the main pool and the beach pool is particularly impressive looking with beach access nearby. Service was wonderful at all of the pools, with friendly staff always available. There are restricted access areas such as the pool on the TRS (adults only) side of the resort, the Family Selection pool and the travel club members pool - this is unfortunately the most visually appealing pool and the one you will see featured most prominently in photos of the resort. It would be preferred if these areas were open to all guests, but as long as you are aware of the restrictions when purchasing your package, it is not an issue as there are lots of other great areas on the resort. There was no shortage of seating near the pools, but the staff is also good at collecting towels to prevent guests from reserving seats while they are not actually at the pool areas. The beach area is excellent, with the resort having left the natural growth on the beach intact. The water is clear, with no red flag days for our entire visit. The water does get deep fairly quickly, so parents should be aware of this. Costa Mujeres is expanding rapidly, so you can see several resorts under construction in the distance, but it is still quite beautiful and very safe to take a long walk down the beach past the other resorts and undeveloped areas. There is bar service on the beach, but during our stay it was generally under-served so it is advisable to grab towels and drinks on the way to the beach. The food was generally very good during our stay, with us eating at the main buffet for breakfasts, the beach restaurant for lunches and the a la carte restaurants for dinner each night. All a la carte restaurants as well as the coffee shop/cake bar, sports bar, sky bar and theatre are located in the "village" area, which is definitely a highlight of the resort. The village area is located at the front of the resort and combines a cobblestone street, open air patios, restaurants and the theatre to create a hub of activity. During our stay, we understood the resort was running at 75% capacity and it was clear they were still learning their way in the restaurants as they were staffed accordingly. The food was generally very good, with the steakhouse, thai and mexican restaurants being our favourites. No reservations are required for the restaurants (with the only exception being the teppanyaki bar), so there was a wait for tables in some cases of up to 45 min. There was no shortage of space at the bar during the wait, but in some cases up to 1/3 of the tables were empty despite the wait list. This will undoubtedly improve over time, but people should be aware of this as the resort is still in its beginnings. In all instances, staff were polite and accommodating throughout the resort. There were lots of options for entertainment, with activities at the pools, games areas, theatre shows and beach shows in the evening (fire show, pirate show). Overall, we were very satisfied with our trip to Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres. There are areas where the resort is still working things out, but that is also reflected in the pricing as compared to similar established 5 star resorts in the area. We would definitely consider returning in the future and would recommend this hotel to others.

Beautiful resort!

The resort is brand new and the property and rooms are beautiful. We had an ocean front loft suite and absolutely loved it. There were a few kinks, our roof sprung an air conditioning leak two times resulting in a small flood each time. But repair each time was very quick and caused minimal inconvenience. The food was great and there was lots to choose from. The beach is gorgeous and offers great swimming. We stayed in family selection and enjoyed being close to the beach, having a restaur [... read more]ant in our building, the beach restaurant for lunch right next door, a family selection pool with a great restaurant as well. The boats to get around in were lovely. We had some adult time at the TRS pool when the kids checked out the kids club which was also beautiful. The beachfront pool was also amazing. My only complaint was that it was tough to figure out who to talk to when trying to sort reservations and getting bottles of wine. We met our family host at check in and then couldn’t figure out how to talk to the right person after that. We would go to the front desk at FS and were told they would leave a note but that rarely worked. It would be highly recommend to make this process much easier. We also found the large buffet La Isla disappointing with few options and only dined there once. All in all we had an incredible week and left feeling super relaxed!

Beautiful resort

The resort was well kept. All the staff were over friendly. Food was above average. We would definitely go back. Great for the kids. The river with the electric boats to take you around different spots of the resort is a unique great idea. Just need a few more boats.

Tennis heaven

My wife and I enjoy playing tennis on a regular basis and the Rafa Nadal tennis center located in the resort was our main reason for booking it. We were not disappointed by the quality of their adult tennis programs. The staff at the tennis academy did a fantastic job running the Total Tennis adult program and provided many valuable training drills, strategies and tips during our five days program to help us improve our game. Food selection was the same during our 7 night stay. Staff service was great and the Beach is nice and powdery sand. This hotel has three categories TRS, GP and Family. If you stay at the GP section, be prepared to get rejected a few times during your stay. For example: GP guest will wait 30 minutes or more at a la carte restaurants because the GP section cannot make reservations for a la carte restaurants. On the other hand TRS and Family section can make reservation and get a table without waiting. Transportation within the resort is also divided. There are TRS golf carts and GP golf cart. TRS guest are able to use TRS and GP carts but GP guest can only use GP carts.

Wonderful staff, food and atmosphere!

The Grand Palladium at Costa Mujeres was beautiful with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were amazing. The resort is new with a few safety issues like no hand railings on stairways and steps on the outside areas not well lit. The entire resort was clean with a Happy atmosphere.

Great Service

Beautiful resort, we loved our room in building #15. Food was ok, Thai restaurant being the best, the Mexican being the worst. If you are looking for a shiny new resort and plenty of exercise getting around this one is for you.

Very Disappointing

Everything, Food, Entertainment, Beach were a long distance from one another. No nightlife, no bars, no atmosphere- nothing to do as weather was just terrible. Golf carts needed to get to places were in very short supply, especially when it was raining and had to wait around for one to pass - usually full. Beach restaurant and/or bathrooms too far away from beach area that was very crowed. Beach was very nice though, but had to be there quite early to obtain chairs and umbrellas. Supposedly "Qu [... read more]ite Pool" had many crying and loud children. The wait staff, especially Carlos, was very good and attentive. The Poseidon Beach Buffet restaurant was okay, but food choices limited and in short supply. Fuentes one of the wait staff was very good. The rooms were spacious and English T.V. Channels were available. If you took a room on the ground level, it was like grand central station with everyone passing your balcony area to get to he beach or restaurant. "The Village" restaurants were excellent and would recommend, altough getting to the Village you had again to rely on transportation there and back. In very short supply after 9:00 p.m. I would not choose this resort again. It was brand new, open just over 2 months previous, and not a full capacity. I am sot sure what it would have been like if full.

Great resort!

This hotel is great! Very big! Food is excellent...friendly staff our weather was not the greatest but made best of it..there are few kinks to iron out as its a new resort.. quite large but they have gold carts to take you around

Amazing Resort!!!

Loved everything about this resort. Food, drinks, service, rooms, pools, beach everything was top of the line. Better technology then any other resort! Best vacation 10/10 I would go back in a heart beat!

Beautiful Resort but...

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary from December 30-January 9, 2019. We were somewhat disappointed that our only option for our anniversary dinner(which actually was December 31) was the buffet! The hotel did not let us book any other restaurant because it was New Years Eve and those reservations were given priority to TRS(adult only side),Family Selection and Palladium Travel Club. They knew it was our 20th anniversary, yet th [... read more]ey did not do anything extra to make our day special. On top of that, we got swarmed by the Travel Club employees and convinced to take a tour and sit through a presentation on the morning of our anniversary! We were also promised things for attending the presentation that we were never given. What a waste of time! We were promised a couple of nights in the TRS side or at a minimum, changing our bracelets so that we could access the TRS facilities during our stay. Never happened. Although the resort is beautiful, it does not have an adult only pool available on the Grand Palladium side. There are too many levels of privilege there. At the beach we were all crammed into one section while the TRS and Travel Club and Family Selection had there own roped off section which was usually less that half full. Although our room was well appointed, there were a few things...it had a beautiful tub but the water going into it was luke warm at best. ☹️ The shower was awesome! Very large and an abundance of hot water! 😊 The beds looked way more comfortable then they actually were. ☹️ I like that they had carpet in the halls on each floor to reduce the noise of other guests coming and going. 😊 The large pool was nice but often there was music/bands playing at the same time which was very irritating particularly when you’re trying to enjoy a good book! ☹️ Daniel the waiter at the pool was amazing!😁 as well as Juan at the Indian restaurant!😁 It is a very large resort so be prepared to do a lot of walking! There are carts to drive guests but not always available when you are. We didn’t mind the walking. There are also boat taxis there too!😊 We went to the a la cart restaurants every night(except our anniversary of course☹️) without a reservation and had no trouble getting a table. The longest wait was 30 minutes. All were very good. We did the Italian, Mexican, Thai, Japanese, Steak House and Indian. The last two we went to more than once. 😀 We stayed in building 15 on the top floor. Room 15405. Nice view except for the construction! ☹️ If you ask for an even number you will face the pool. By the way, you don’t have to return a towel to get a new towel there for the pools/beach. Unfortunately the down side is guests just leave them on there chairs which maks it difficult when you are looking for a place to sit by the pool/beach. Hint: If there are no personal belongings with those towels on the chairs, it’s available! If we were ever to go back to this hotel, we would only go to the TRS side.

Fantastic Resort

Loved staying at this resort. Best food we have ever had at a resort and we travel a lot. Loved all the areas to eat, drink and relax. Lots of lounge chairs, me e had a hard time finding a spot. Rooms are spacious and loved the huge bathroom

Great Restaurants & Service

We just returned from a 7 days stay at this large resort 12/20-12/27, 2018 . Be prepared to walk to get to just about anywhere from your room. The best part of this resort are the restaurants in the Village Area of the grounds. We stayed in Bldg. 16 which is the main Grand Palladium Tower (4 stories), Main Lobby, Lobby Bar and Buffet all on the ground floor. My wife and I were in room 16229 (King Bed) and our adult children in 16430 (2 Dbl. Beds). Large suites, well appointed and decorated both [... read more] had Courtyard Views with plenty of sun shine. The most notable part of this resort were it's Restaurants. The service was great as was the menu offered, standard al ecarte service; do not expect BIG PORTIONS. All the restaurants serviced a very elegant plate, well presented and tasteful. If you really like to eat big portions go to the Buffet, the food there is just a good as what is available at the Village Restaurants. Only one place for Breakfast and that is at the Buffet in the main Bldg.; long waiting time to be seated if you are not an early riser. The TRS Hotel also on the same property have their own restaurants; guest there can also use the ones in the Village and they can also book reservations to all restaurants. Those guest in the Palladium wings are only allowed to make reservation to the Japanese Restaurant the rest are a first come first serve. Shuttles both land and water are at times necessary to use regardless of the building that you are in. The grounds are not designed for guest that have mobility issues. Very few ramps if any to get over steps etc. In the evening the grounds are not very well lit. The Main Pool really needs a second bar and toilet facilities opposite the existing Swim-up bar. The back of the house (that's the part as guest we do not see) needs to be more attentive to the details when it comes to cleanliness of plates and cups, utensils and linens. Nothing worse than finding lip stick stains on your cup, stained utensils and plate settings. This resort is new, opened in November 2018. I can understand that it is going through it's growing pain stages and I trust that things will improve as it matures. Give The Grand Palladium Costa Mujures a couple of years to have a real Paradise feel. Workers continue to finish walkways, landscaping, hardscape (paths) etc... to the grounds and Bldgs. The over-all finish to the resorts appears to have been rushed to make the grand opening date.

Amazing resort!

We had a wonderful vacation here! Beautiful resort, great customer service, variety of restaurants ,good quality food there are some unfinished details, but it never bothered our vacation here. We will be back!!!

Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres

The facilities in the very first room allocated had lot of complications . No telephone, flooded washrooms prevented us from having a shower throughout stay in first two days.The ground transport in the resort is ineffective, gave us lots of hardships for us to move in the resort.

Totally amazing

This resort is state of the art totally awesome great staff Eric the lobby bartender was the best I ever seen remembered your name drink was kick ass Carlose at the pool was kick ass and deserves a raise I will return Steve Lee

Beautiful Resort

What a beautiful resort. Lots of restaurants on the grounds. The main buffet was fabulous, with so much variety. The staff were all so nice and courteous. Lots of things to do, pool area is huge and a special children's area. Live shows each evening, and bands playing good tunes in the sports bar and pool side. This resort is awesome for all ages. There were 19 family members that were with us, ages 16 - 72. We all had such a good time ! I would definitely go again.

Still under Construction

The resort just opened (partially) so it is going through some growing pains. The resort itself is very modern, rooms are very comfortable and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food was good but not special and not all the restaurants were open. The beach and pools were really good but the grounds need some maturing. Overall it is not quite at the 5 star level yet, but it does have the capability of reaching that level over the next year.
