Fabulous resort

Everything from beginning to end was great Loved the grounds ,room and staff went above & beyond. We would definitely return to Chic Punta Cana We have referred this hotel to many of our family members and friends

Best all inclusive!

This hotel is phenomenal! The staff work so incredibly hard for long hours to ensure we have everything we need. They have great shows and lots of varied entertainment. The drinks and food were delish! The hotel was walking distance to the market, coco bongo and senior frogs. Great party atmosphere and the best beach. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Did not meet expectations

This hotel was totally geared to the party drinking crowd. The pool entertainers catered to the drinking pool people and there was nothing to include the beach lounger guests. It was quite a boring place with not much to do. They have2 pool tables in the sports bar that are less than good, the balls are not even the correct size and the tables are tilted..but the workers at the sports bar were great and a nice alternative to get a quick meal..Grounds were too small to allow movement. Beach was n [... read more]ice but waves were large. Most days were red flag days..water pull was strong and took your feet out from under you a lot. Buffet was good at breakfast but food at other times was cold. Fries were always soggy and hamburgers were only offered on a couple days. The steak house was good and had the best desserts of cheesecake and crème Brule the mini onion appetizer buns served asa appetizer were very good and warm. Our server Isaac was very good .,highly recommend him. Wehad a few room issues,though the view was great on room 10612, one day we returned and the mini bar person had left our room door unlocked …our bar fridge leaked water all weekend ever got fixed…one day our room did not get serviced by the maids claiming we had a do not disturb on our door,and we did not even have one of those door cards in our room..when you used the toilet, upon rising the seat cover would slam you in the back..all issues were reported to guest services. Entertainment at night was repetitive with same dancers in different outfits. The Michael Jackson show was a good one though and worthwhile attending. We have always Been frequent Royalton fans, but this resort falls short of our former expectations. The Sunwing reps here were unfriendly and useless..they showed no help answering questions and left you with a shrug of the shoulders and a we are busy answers. These people need to be replaced. Make sure you take your phone as you have to scan code to get info in pick up times. Too bad for the non tech types… One night,I think Mexican theme, they had local vendors on the premises selling their wares,. this was nice and a time killer after supper…., We did the massage at the spa…it was good.

Fantastic Resort

Hotel was Beautiful & clean had a very fresh scent as you enter. Rooms are clean & spacious. Food was Amazing we did not try Mexican. Entertainment was different nightly outside or in lobby or 2nd floor. Beach was cleaned daily.Pool was clean and warm

Excellent Resort

Beautiful loocation, spacious room but a few anomalies: 1. In most days there were no beach towels available after 3 or so in the afternoon. 2. The food was delicious in the buffet and all restaurants, but I ordered Rigatoni Siciliani in the Vespa restaurant and it came only with sliced peppers. The menu stated that eggplant and zucchini would also be included. In fact, as an Italian I know that the main ingredient in the Sicilian dish is eggplant! 3. Often yogurt ordered in our room was not [... read more] accompanied with a spoon. In the buffet, espresso orderedwith sugar, often did not come with a spoon. Same with cereal. When we did ask for spoons it took some time to get receive them. What gives with the lack of spoons? Minor inconvenience, but bothersome nonetheless! 4. The time between ordering and receiving a dish in the specialty restaurants was unacceptably long even when there were not a lot of people dining.

Great time!

I attended royalton chic for a second year in a row with a different group of friends! The first year I found the elevators slow, however they have drastically improved Service! The service was simply amazing. From check in to checkout, we couldn’t ask for anything better. Eduardo was our butler and no words can describe how incredible he was. Kuri took amazing care us when we rented a cabana. Thanks kuri! Rooms - clean. Always fully stocked Beach - although the water was rough. The beach was absolutely beautiful. The sand and water was great! Food- the buffet was good. Enjoyed the fresh cooked items. The ala carte menus changed from last year which I preferred. Some were better then others. Always able to find something to eat. Actually all of us over ate Restaurant off resort - we went to taboo. Perfect night out. Location - resort is in perfect walking location to coco bongo, Isla mall, bars, restaurants Drinks - drinks were great’ Overall another great experience at the royalton chain. I definitely will go to royalton again. Again thanks to Eduardo who made our vacation amazing xoxo

Great resort

The resort was excellent, top to bottom. Safe, secure, clean. Great staff, great food, great location. It was our first time coming into Cancun as we generally go down the Mayan riviera. I was please try surprises . I would highly recommend this place. We will be back!

Not as expected

Positive points: good location, kind and hospitable staff, delicious food suitable for different tastes, large and very clean room. Negative points: Very few swimming pools, allocation of a section called diamond which did not have a special advantage and made one of the two pools unusable for others, disarray and delays and breakdown of elevators, low quality of drinks.

Does not meet expectations.

Arrived at the resort at 12:00p.m. Was not greeted warmly, werent given a tour of the hotel, walked around until the room was ready at 3pm. We received a lower grade room than what we had requested. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly except for the front desk. During our stay, the safe malfunctioned, the bed frame was so rusted it broke resulting in my husband falling and the hairdryer didnt work. The fridge in the room was not restocked unless we contacted them. The  [... read more]resort entertainment was ok. Music stopped at pool area at 3pm. The night time entertainment was geared towards the younger patrons. The beach area was kept very clean however hotel was short staffed and service was slow.

Not a party Resort

They hotel and staff were amazing no doubt but if you are planning on partying and drinking not the resort to stay they stop serving alcohol at 12:00am and there is no mini bar in your room the only thing is they provide is a few beers and when asked for more we never got them if going to this resort and you want to drink at 12:00 you have to buy your own bottles so buy duty free before reaching because bottle prices are ridiculous $150usd starting price

LOVED IT!

I stayed with my boyfriend at the Royalton Chic from Jun 24 to Jul 1st, 2022. We absolutely enjoyed our trip and the staff. No complaints about the food and there was always a lot to do. We recommend upgrading to Diamond Club upon booking as there are a lot of perks you can take advantage of! The location was also perfect and a convenient 10 min walk away from the Cancun strip. Would love to come back again one day.

It's kk...nothing..to wow about

Service was kk. Food needs improvement. Went to Steak house they messed up the orders. Not enough entrainment. The DJ same music every day. The lobby bartender's were great. Excursions are way too expensive at the resort Our bus transportation from Airport to the hotel was messed up. We as a group paid $230 US. Even to going back was messed up, but at the end it was fixed last minute. Our agent from Trip Central (Elaina) didn't do a good job. Even our rooms were all scattered. 12 pe [... read more]ople went and we all had to argue with the front desk to get our rooms close by. Our trip we planned it from January end. Like I said our Agent plus Air Canada didn't satisfy our needs. Going to a new county we were left alone at the airport. They didn't have our name list at all. Overall very poor service.

Good hotel, recommend

Everything was really good. Variety of food, service, rooms, all bar drinks were authentic, What needs to be improved is cooking of fish and seafood on electro countertop. Definitely, cooks need more training. Less stinky oil, cleaning of the top from previous cooking, etc. Gala nights were exceptional! Would I return to this hotel, probably not, because I like to try different every time. But I’d recommend it.

Would recommend

We booked our trip (two couples) approximately 3-4 weeks prior to arrival. The transfer to the resort was easy and stress free. Upon arrival we were given a cold drink and registered into the resort. Not staffs fault but very hard to hear them speaking behind the plexi glass and masks. Rooms were large and clean, although could use some TLC. Would recommend this resort for someone but I don’t think we’d go back only because I found the resort and surrounding area a bit too busy for us, maybe it was everyone booking trips once the restrictions were lifted. Great resort!

Overall we gave this an 8/10. The staff were fantastic and customer service was excellent! Our room was beautiful and even though we didn’t overlook the ocean, the city view and view of the lagoon is gorgeous, especially at night. The Covid measurements in place are excellent: temperature testing at each restaurant, sanitizer everywhere, distancing measures in place, and staff wear buttons to let guests know they are vaccinated. Service at all restaurants was amazing and service at the pool was top notch, and we didn’t upgrade to the Diamond Club as we don’t see the benefit really. We did not visit the 18th floor pool, as there was no need to; the beach was beautiful and pools were great! Never a time we didn’t have a chair and they never tan out of towels like a lot of places do. Overall great stay, only real downside is that it is a high rise and the elevator situation can be slow and painful….otherwise would recommend it!

Was ok

The grounds are beautiful. The service was good but not consistent. We upgraded to diamond and where told that we where invited and booked by our butler for a diamond dinner. We where excited about going got dressed up and up to the 18th floor we went only to be told that unfortunately the dinner was over booked and you where cut .That was on our second day, there was not an apology from Arron the big boss only a shoulder srug. Food was ok nothing special. Maid service was nothing special the [... read more] bed was made . No animal out of towels. Yes we tip...around 250 for fair service that week. I'm disappointed with the royalton and will not return.

Resort grounds beautiful

We stayed their Nov 22 to 28 2021 The hotel grounds and pool are beautiful. We where not able to do the diamond dinner as they deleted our reservations therefore turned away when we got there with no compensation for dinner We did not go to the top floor pool as you had to pay for your drinks and food as this is not run by the hotel therefore people can buy a day pass and enjoy the night time entertainment as we had to also make reservations to go When they had events on the top floor the buf [... read more]fet was closed therefore you needed to find another place to eat and I have never been to a resort where they close the buffet I found the pool bars and those that served you around the pool went over and above but the rest of the resort did bare minimum I would not say this is a 5 star place at all There was minor things like no slippers in the room needed to ask for a blow dryer and a few days out fridge was not restocked with water or and pop

Amazing resort

The hotel was beautiful but the service was even better. The staff was so respectful and nice the person who stood out the most to me was Daniel from the pool side bar. Constantly taking order and going above and beyond left such a great impact he deserved all the tip he was so genuine

What an amazing deal!

The hotel facilities are amazing and high class. - The rooms were really plush and AC was cold, you feel premium class - Room food service available order through the TV, late into the night Food was fantastic! Third floor is usually where everyone gathers for the evening and they have a DJ there and usually play music till 12-1. Closes kinda early for those drinkers who prime just at late hours. Service is top notch, the guys really try hard, so be nice and tip. It was great to feel that they service you well without tipping first - something I did not like in my previous stay in Cancun at the Oasis resort. They have a rooftop patio and its so sick, some times foam parties. About COVID - all the staff do a tremendous job of wearing masks, they check your temperatures at restaurants or other public gathering places, there is disinfectant and wash stations throughout. Really good job by the hotel. It’s a mixed story with the tourists, especially at night when they get sauced. Some wear masks others don’t - do your due diligence. It’s hard to enforce so don’t knock the resort management. For testing it cost $160 CAD and the doctor comes to the hotel. Arrange it at the guest service area. Very easy The gym facilities were the seller for me and they are top notch and the trainers amazing. Morning yoga, hit, TRX, boxing, gym classes, beach challenges and activities etc... AAA If you are the type of person who complains for the sake of complaining, stay away! If you lose something and cant find it it’s your fault. Too many times I hear I lost a ring in the room, sunglasses, phone, boom box. C’mon people!!! Lock your shit in a safe, keep your valuables away, and don’t get drunk. There was a case where a worker left with a persons shoes and phone but security got it resolved. Always talk to your neighbours and keep watch, the tourists can steal too... Word of advice, leave your Gucci and other designer stuff at home. Here’s some suggestions to help you determine if this resort is for you - This is not a quiet resort. Be prepared for music, loud and lots of it. - Crowd is mixed, mostly saw couples, some solo. Crowd ranging from young, middle age and not that many elderly (few). - Service is awesome by the staff - It’s not a big grounds resort so don’t expect it to cover lots of ground. - It’s the best hotel within a good radius no doubt, I walked to check. - amazing beach time - top class gym facilities - Service desk sometimes gets overwhelmed, time your visits not during peak hours Lastly, trip advisor staff did an outstanding job of preparing me for the trip. Kudos!!

Clean and Modern

Husband and I went for our honeymoon and it was more than we could Ask for. I am a little bit of a clean freak, and this hotel was honestly so clean and modern. We didn’t hold back from eating things that could possibly make us sick, because everything looked so appealing and clean. From the rooms to the buffet, to the Signature restaurants at the hotel, everything was very clean, calm and beautiful. We felt so safe in there.
