Good resort

Guests reserving beach chairs each morning saving up to 12 chairs at a time, found it hard to find any after 9:00 am. Lots for exclusive guests. Only could book specialty restaurants 2 days in advance. Couldn’t get anything booked except for 10:00 pm unless you booked 12:01 am…never managed to get a good reservation in 2 weeks. Food in buffet relatively good although could have been warmer. Rooms very spacious and comfortable..all room staff excellent and English speaking. In fact all hotel staff great and very accommodating..front desk not as much !! Resort washrooms hardly visible and not near the beach area. Great many children and small babies. Pool nice normally pretty quiet, but family’s pool very near. Happy noisy fun pool was just that….very noisy.

Wonderful Resort!

We went back to this resort Feb 2025 after our stay there Feb 2024. We enjoyed it so much. Wonderful staff. Excellent food. Nicest room we've ever had. No bites on my ankles at the beach. Strongly recommend this resort.

Excellent Resot

Beautiful resort. Beach is excellent. Food and drinks were excellent. Service all over the resort was excellent. Really enjoyed the lattes at the coffee shop each morning. The resort has a little bit of everything. Had a great, relaxing stay.

Very clean resort

This is a great resort. Staff is amazing. The resort is very well maintained. And the rooms are very spacious. There seemed to be alot of young children. It was not easy to book the ala carts. And the buffet food was not very warm.

Buffet food was very ordinary

Imagine waiting 45 minutes in the morning everyday for breakfast. After the wait each day we would be asked for room number, allergies (all this can be done one time) and then wait for some more time for a server to come and take you to an empty table. Never had this experience in Mexico or the Carribean at any of the resorts. Buffet food is very ordinary and the same food was available everyday, sometimes recycled during lunch or dinner. Despite informing the reception, no proper action was taken or feedback from a manager was given to us.

Loved this resort!

The grounds of the resort were well laid out and tended to, with lots of lovely outdoor seating areas just to sit and relax in the evening by the water features. The layout of the Superior Suites are extremely well-planned. I especially enjoyed the fact that the resort has its own water filtration system and provides safe drinking water. There was ample selection in food services with different ethnicities to choose from and every I ate was delicious, including the buffet. You won’t be disappointed!

We had three previous stays in Playa Mujeres and this was our first stay at the Catalonia - by far the best resort. Tremendous food options, great staff and service. The resort is beautifully laid out and the beach is perfect for long walks. We will be back.

Excellent Resort

We were really impressed with the quality of the food, drinks and the service. We will definitely come back to this resort. We had the swim out suite and it was wonderful. The staff were really great and we were impressed with the Spa, gym, night entertainment shows.

Looks Can Be Deceiving

The hotel is beautiful. Really modern and wows you on first impression. After a few days you see this place isn't kept clean. Especially bathrooms. They also didn't do a great job cleaning rooms. They have a big street that's gorgeous which would be perfect for bands and entertainment, instead it becomes a playground for kids at night. It certainly could have been worse. There are just a lot of things they can improve on. We needed a vacation in the sun, we booked last minute and took what was available. It's not like we suffered, it's just that this place could be a lot better. I wouldn't go back unless I knew improvements have been made.

Highly Recommend !

I have been to the RUI in Paradis Island, the Catalonia surpassed all expectations. The layout allows you to move around with easy, and not feeling corralled. Food in restaurant and buffet is high quality. Rooms are spacious well maintained and clean

A great time away

Overall this resort was nice. Clean, lots of food options and friendly staff. Coffee bar is awesome and so many places to sit and chat! We went in the beginning of March and the pools were cool in the mornings but warmed up a bit in the afternoon. Beach is gorgeous! Front desk and Lobby staff had no idea what was happening and were not even aware we were supposed to be picked up.

Amazing experience!

This resort exceeded my expectations! Resort is very new and I love the decors. There are many food choices and all the food tasted amazing! Best food I had on any resorts. Beach and ocean is nice but could use more shade. Overall fantastic resort and definitely recommend this to anyone.

Outstanding Resort

This is a top notch hotel. I would recommend anyone visiting Cancun to reserve in Catalonia Grand Cost. The room service, the food, the reception, the housekeeping, the bell boys are all amazing and you have lots of restaurants that can match your taste and so many activities during the day and night.

Fairly good

The food could have been better, especially the Mexican. Also the beach furniture could be upgraded to more beds and loungers with shade and someone watching to make sure only privileged people are actually in the privileged section. We saw people with blue bracelets. My wife and I shared a beach lounger because there were blue bracelet people taking up some chairs. Also not a fan when I pay for an upgrade and then there’s another that consists of a membership.

Amazing hotel.

Our vacation went very great. We were happy to visit this wonderful place. Amazing resort with friendly stuff,delicious food,entertainments and beautiful beach.We love the place and definitely will come again ?

Pretty Good!

Rooms - we stayed in the grand family swim up, and it was amazing! Perfect for a family. Food - BLoved was the best option, so I definitely recommend getting a Privilege category room. The food was generally fine. Nothing to write home about, but lots of options and everything was good. Service - generally good! Beach - a few rough and windy days, and then a little seaweed as a result, but totally swimmable 6/7 days we were there. I wish they’d lean into the family vibe and have more fun activities.

A true 5 star resort

Everything was first class. Staff were especially helpful and pleasant. Buffet was amazing with a variety of items that changed from day to day. Beach was very nice and safe for children. Could use more shade on the beach though. Some umbrellas or more canvasses strung among palms.

Excellent stay!!!

Room:The room was very spacious; Loved the walk in closet. The rain shower was amazing. Grounds:Well kept- hardly ever saw cups and so forth laying around Beach: Immaculate Beach; no seaweed;staff was always checking to ensure our cups were always filled. Buffet: Many options to choose from ; tried the buffet lunch on the last day and it was amazingggg Restaurants: Food was just average at the restaurants Overall..highly recommend and would definitely visit again!!!!]

Amazing resort!

The resort is beautiful! It’s fairly new hotel and room was very nice. We had an amazing time. Service is very good, staff is super friendly. Food was also very good. Lots of selection and multiple restaurants to choose from. Beach was also beautiful!

Absolutely amazing

I have been to this resort last Feb 2022 and it was recovering from COVID. It was an okay experience. However I decided to go again with my family and we had a great time. Food, staff, entertainment and cleanliness of the resort was all 5/5. Will definitely go again!
