Great Resort

We spent 10 days at Ocean Eden Bay and we had a wonderful time! I would not rate it a 5 star, mainly because of the room. The chairs on the balcony could use some cushions and a little table. The plugin in the bathroom was loose, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. The vanity had a design flaw.... we could not open the tap, it hit the backsplash and we got a trickle of water. Other than that, the Resort is great with lot of things to do. The food was very, very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Sure, some didn't crack a smile, but dealing with some obnoxious guests all day long, can you blame them? The beach is small and yes, rocky but nonetheless beautiful. All in all we had a great vacation :-)

Not going back.

Rooms are dirty, grounds are not well kept, no hot water at times in the showers. Staff is rude, pool is falling apart (literally picking tiles out of the pool) They don’t clean up cups and garbage from around pool, from previous day. Food was alright, nothing to rave about. This is my 5th time in Jamaica, and I would not return to this resort.

Ok resort

We had a lovely week in Jamaica in January, however there were some hiccups. They had 1 dinner & show restaurant, it was fully booked the entire week, could not get in, very disappointing. Our air conditioner was not working properly but was fixed. Resort was nice and clean, well maintained. Grounds were clean and well maintained. Pool area was clean. Food was amazing. Main lobby bar, felt unwelcome sometimes, couple bartenders, no smiles, felt like we were bothering them to make us a drink. But there were some who were very nice. Room - cleaning service not great, most days did not show up. Once we complained then they appeared. Turn down service only showed up twice. Butler- Aundre was wonderful, he did his best when we had issues. He did a beautiful design on their bed for her 50th birthday, he went above and beyond, simply gorgeous. Thank you. Bartender- Ritchie also made our vacation awesome, he has a large smile, great personality and a pleasure to be around, thank you. Aundre and Ritchie made our vacation extra special! For a new resort, 5 stars rating, many things lacking. I was not that impressed, for the money we spent it was not worth it. I’m not sure if I would recommend this resort, everyone has their own opinion. You would have to experience it yourself, everything might turn out well & not have any issues.

An Excellent Resort

My husband and I had an excellent vacation at Ocean Eden Bay. Having the Coral Springs side to also experience at the same time added to the value of the resort. We felt it was extremely good value at the price point that we paid for an ocean view room (without privilege service). What stood out for us were the rooms were spacious, well laid and the beds were extremely comfortable. The balcony was also a nice size with decent chairs and a side table. We especially enjoyed the Steakhouse, Marlin, Sense's Dinner Theatre, and Bluemoon (confusing but menu was at Marlin certain nights) for dinners. Marlin for breakfast. Captain's Table for lunch. The pool was great but too noisy with music and games for our liking so we mostly stayed at the beach. It was small but adequate. Really for us, the only negative was we like a bigger beach to walk along. In other reviews, people complained about the service from staff. Our experience was that all staff members were extremely helpful and pleasant.

It's Complicated

Hotel 9 out of 10 Food 7 out of 10 Evening entertainment.... in multiple locations Room Service great Beach --------- minus 1 ( rocks, tiny, not a lot of shady spots ) Most of the YouTube documentation don't show the beach, and for a good reason.

Overall Great Vacation

The resort was in a beautiful location. It was about a 40 minute drive from the airport. Food was really good, mostly buffets but some fancier table-service options for dinner. Open bars at the pool and near the beach. Not a ton of area to swim at the beach and water was quite shallow. However, the pool was a fair size and clean. Rooms were very spacious and nicely decorated.

Amazing & accommodating hotel

My sister has severe food limitations and the resort was amazing. The chefs checked with her at each restaurant even at the buffet the chef took her around to point out safe foods. The staff was great and the beach was fantastic. My third time to Ocean Eden Bay and it didn’t disappoint.

Disappointed!!!

This is the 4th time travelling to Jamaica, this time we travelled with a group of 21 people. I have never been so disappointed with a resort before, every-time you go to the bar, you feel like you’re bothering the bartender to give you a drink, the food is okay not much variety, did not see any of the fruits Jamaica is known for, the bars are always running out of cups and straws, there are no servers walking around the pool or beach to ask of you need a drink. Incredible Experience and Worth every dollar

This hotel is a beautiful example of a 5-star all-inclusive resort. My boyfriend and I decided to go to Ocean Eden for our anniversary and we were picked up from the airport and delivered to the hotel after an hour bus ride through the beautiful coast. At the hotel, the check-in process was easy and the room was available before the 3 o'clock check-in time. The garden view of our room was amazing and we sat in the cool egg-hanging chairs on the balcony and watched the thunderstorms go by (when it did rain an hour a day) and would have a red stripe beer (complimentary in all rooms) The hotel had fantastic restaurants that are worth staying on the adults-only side for because you can go use the Coral Springs amenities but they can't come to Ocean Eden so it was WORTH IT for the small price difference. Go to the Blue Moon restaurant it was AMAZING! Our beach was rocky but with the most beautiful, bath-warm water in the world. You could see all the way down to the bottom and the staff are always working hard to clean the seaweed off the beach, no matter what side you are on. The night shows of the steel drums, one love show, and water ballet were awesome. The ocean Eden side was a private beach whereas the coral springs had a section where people could come and sell things on the beach, but they never bothered the beachgoers. So if a private beach is important to you, do the Ocean Eden side. Even if you go to Ocean Eden you can use all the beaches, but kids can't come to the adult side. Overall, all the staff were wonderful. The help we received from the front desk, the cooks and waiters, the lifeguards and towel people, and the activities coordinator, all took care of and remembered each clientele as they came in. Everyone was so helpful and lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel. They take care of their guests and show them a beautiful time in Jamaica. We will certainly be returning to this hotel and recommending it to others in the future. Thank you Ocean Eden for such a wonderful experience. The people who work there made this travel experience unforgettable.

Not Impressed

For a 5 star resort i am thoroughly NOT impressed. My Husband and I booked our honeymoon at Ocean Eden Bay. I have had my eyes on this resort for close to a year after seeing a video online of it. The service is absolutely awful - we went to the buffet for pretty much every meal. Not once during our one week stay, did they bring our drinks the first time, we always had to ask a second time and most of the time it was just water we were asking for. As someone who has a severe seafood aller [... read more]gy, the cross contamination is terrible here, probably one of the worst buffets i have been to for it and the majority of the other restaurants menu is also seafood, thus why we opted for the buffet. Just about all of the staff members make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them by asking for something. The night of the foam cannon (Thursday July 20th) - my husband and i both (on separate occasions) witnessed the bar staff take a used cup off the counter, rinse it with some water in the sink and then proceed to make another person a drink with the same unwashed, unsanatized cup. The pools are also very dirty, tiles flaking off everywhere, cups just floating in the pool and at one point there was someones hair piece and fake eyelashes just floating around. The same night as the foam Cannon, my husband took a crab about the size of my shoe out of the pool - reading other reviews this seems to be a common occurrence. I understand where the resort is located and naturally these things may happen, but seriously?!? - all those people in the pool and this thing is just crawling around. As we were celebrating our honeymoon the hotel offered us a complimentary dinner on the beach, well they forgot about us. We wandered the beach for about 20 minutes the day we scheduled before proceeding to the lobby to see if maybe we were in the wrong spot. NOPE, just no one delivered the paperwork. - i will say, Nigel at guest services did absolutely everything he could to make this better, he got us in for a dinner at BlueMoon, & our server there was also fantastic. This was just about the only part of our stay that was positive in terms of the hotel. The hotel GOUGES for anything you need to purchase from the shops - they are charging $13 US (Almost $18 for my CAD people) for a bag of chips, if you go not even 5 mins off the resort that price drops to $3 US. I understand they need to make something off it but really a 400%+ markup? And finally, we went to the checkin counter to request a late checkout as our plane didn’t leave until 7pm, the lady at the counter was definitely not the nicest, they charge $10 USD per hour to extended check out (which was no problem) but they quite literally cut the bands off you when you checkout we came back to the lobby at around 2:50 (we paid to extend until 3pm as our bus left at 3:20) we couldn’t even get a drink while we waited as they cut the bands off - so if we didn’t pay the additional we would have been stuck sitting in their lobby for 3 hours as the services would no longer be available past 12. (In the past any other resort i have been to will let you continue to use services until your departure day of) Overall, not impressed at all, i have had better service from 4 star resorts. Im so glad we didn’t opt to upgrade to privilege and didn’t spend more money with them. Will absolutely be back to Jamaica, as it’s beautiful but never again to Ocean Eden Bay.

Awful time at Ocean Eden Bay

My husband and I had an awful time at Ocean Eden Bay. We spent over 7000k and then upgraded to privilege on day 4 (of 10) in the hopes of getting some service. we also tipped in USD 5’s since we arrived but yet, the level of service remained just ridiculous. - room was totally dirty, other people’s makeup marks in bathroom, fingerprints/handprints and things on all flushes, switches, patio doors not wiped down, etc. left paid cleaning staff extra 20usd three times with a note asking for a f [... read more]ull cleaning - finally I was there and I showed the cleaner all the marks around the room. I never used the jacuzzi tub during our stay cause I never felt like anyone wiped it down. - we don’t drink that much. My husband likes baileys in his coffee. We like coffee. We couldn’t get any but then we saw it in the privilege lounge. So we paid for privilege. For one day, he got baileys in his coffee, but the next day, the bottle ran out. For the next three days we would ask for it and get a sugary substitute. Like, it’s the one thing we asked for. We are Canadian, we don’t need to be waited on hand and foot. But the one thing we asked for, no one could bother getting. - apparently with privilege you get a butler - we had one for the two days , again, we don’t need much, so didn’t really see him other than the first hello and exchange of WhatsApp numbers. - in the middle of the night, around 130am, water comes rushing down from the ceiling lights in our bathroom. All electricity is gone. We walk to the late night restaurant to ask for help. They call front desk and maintenance. Over half our later, Maintenance comes to the room and another person comes to move us to another room. - new room is a swim up room, the room smells very very badly of mold and no one ocean view - finally around 3 we sleep, at 9am we are woken up by front desk to say we can stay in this new room until noon. Doozy fall back asleep. Butler knocks with welcome - are we X people, no we are not. Now I’m hungry, but we have no keys. I start texting our butler, nothing, I wait. I go get some food before breakfast is over. Still nothing from front desk or the butler on what is happening next. - I go to front desk, I wait in line, I ask to talk to manager, she says we can have a new room with an ocean view and that someone will bring us keys. No one ever came. We gave up and just waited to get the hell home. We paid luxury prices. Once in the privilege lounge, the food was good. The mattress in the room was good. Everything else was a massive disappointment and huge waste of our money. This trip was important to us for many deep reasons and unfortunately, other than swimming in the ocean and feeling the sun in our faces, it was not a healing or rejuvenating experience. It was frustrating and disappointing.

Ocean Eden Review From The FANTASTIC FiVE - this is a long review but worth reading! Girls trip 2023 !! Had a blast !! Overall we will definitely return. We arrived on my birthday and let me tell you, it was an entire week of celebration! WHY we WILL RETURN: ENTERTAINMENT! Blue Team were amazing from water aerobics, Jamaican dance lessons, Pool Foam Party ,Bob Marley Tribute Dinner Show , Jamaican Dance Show , Silent Dance Party just to name a few there was always something going on. D [... read more]emeil, Rosbel and Mr Fresh were great. They spent a lot of time touching base with us individually to ensure we were having a great time! FOOD and PEOPLE! A wide variety of food available at the Captains Quarters Buffet. The people working in the buffet made our day special EVERYDAY! To name a few - Cajay, Althea,Shekera and Tocaya with their amazing smiles. We saw Cajay run over to another restaurant to get us cherries that we requested in our drinks. We were fortunate to meet Two of the most Amazing Supervisors Mellonie and Zacharey. Mellonie brought me a special bowl of oatmeal every morning because I can’t eat the sweetened oatmeal provided. Zacharey got us a reservation at the steakhouse when it was all booked up. Ate at La Locanda (Italian) Blue Moon (twice) , Steakhouse , Sugar Cane (West Indies), Sakura(teppanyaki) and frequented Mikes Coffee Bar for lattes and treats. Enjoyed all! Espresso martinis were enjoyed daily at the Lobby bar with our server Alecea who always made us smile. Too many great people to name them all. THE PEOPLE who work at Ocean Eden make this a GREAT PLACE to stay!!! Opportunities for Improvement: No place is perfect and Ocean Eden certainly has some room to improve. One of our rooms was not ready till after 6 pm and we didn’t get the room we booked. We were supposed to get a sofa bed in one room and didn’t get this. The Front Desk staff was not overly helpful. Having said this, she was one of only a few who didn’t try their best to please us. When we approached one of the managers , Earl, our concerns were heard and he compensated us by giving late checkout at no extra charge. 2 of the staff at Guest Services didn’t put much effort into getting us in to the Bob Marley Tribute show. Luckily, our server , Daniel, at Blue Moon , was able to get us a table. Rooms were a great size but lacked attention to detail which is disappointing given this is a new property. The pool did not appear to be cleaned for the entire week, again, disappointing since it is so beautiful. We would expect it to be vacuumed daily since it is heavily used. All in all, a a beautiful property with great entertainment , plenty to do and good food. And I’ll repeat that most of the staff were absolutely amazing and make this resort well worth returning to.

Great Resort but Customer Service from staff is MEDIOCRE

Really enjoyed the food, the beach and the resort but staff/reception is very bad with customer service. Issues/complaints don’t get addressed. Supervisor on duty is NEVER available and staff can’t answer basic questions. They pick and choose who to be nice to and get annoyed when they get asked to do stuff. Most of the time they are either on their phones, eating or drinking on the job. If you are OK with figuring things out on your own and not to rely on the staff then you will enjoy your  [... read more]vacation. We would never go back to this resort because of the staff. We had H10 premium but they still didn’t care. Our assigned butler was useless. He couldn’t even bring water and coffee to our room. That’s the type of service we received.

We loved it!

My husband and I stayed at Ocean Eden Bay May 14-21st for our Honeymoon. Immediately upon telling check-in we were Newlyweds, they sent us to the Privilege desk where we were upgraded to an Ocean Front Room, two butlers, access to the private beach and restaurants, a full breakfast in our room the following morning and a bottle of champagne. They always made sure we good. Roxanne, Hyana and Trey were the greatest bartenders and quickly knew what we liked (they were all good but those three were our favourites). Adrian, at the private beach, was there when we needed him and made sure we had what we needed. The Jamaican Grill was delicious and so were all the restaurants we went to (Steakhouse, Thali, Marlin, both Buffets and both Privilege Lounges). The buffets had a variety and the late night restaurants were great too (Marlin & Route 66). Housekeeping was perfect and our fridge was always stocked. The grounds were always kept clean, staff worked on it every day. The pool was beautiful and there was always something to do (if you wanted to). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were very happy. We would recommend this resort and we would come back again. We would actually like to bring the whole family and stay next door at Ocean Coral Springs.

Amazing resort

Just got back from vacation the resort itself is beautiful but here are the negatives. Beach is terrible if you love the ocean this is not the place you need water shoes 100 %. Food could be much better. The only restaurant I find it really good was Marlin and Bluemoon. Amazing service by Daniel . The buffet is hit or miss some days it's ok . The people are very friendly. Beware of the time share BS. They claim its not a time share but they try to Hassel you yo buy into there membership program.

Nice resort

We had a two week vacation at Ocean Eden Bay. Almost everything was perfect. We found the service a bit lacking as well as attentiveness. The beach bar staff were amazing pool bar not so much. Food was excellent entertainment was almost every evening. Although we retired early most evenings there was music everywhere. H10 hotels "bribe" you to pay the extra for "Privilege service" which is not what other resorts do. The extra fee that is asked does not warrant the "privilege". Buyer beware. Good resort

Pros- view,pool and rooms Cons- poor service at the bar (limited drink options). Staff aren’t overly friendly (aside from blue team). It’s too windy to sit at the beach after noon, in the morning no problem. Rap music all day.

Lovely resort

Service was amazing. Beach area small but food, choice of restaurants, atmosphere was great! Wish that the entertainment was outside vs indoors but the piano bar musician was amazing. Christine has a wonderful voice!

Great local taste

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Interior decor in the rooms and restaurants is beautiful. Drinks is something that can be improved. Great music and lots of local charm. Rooms are missing robes but overall the experience is great. If you are looking for a relaxing stay with lots of local culture this place has it all.

Amazing resort

We had an amazing time. No complaints. Rooms and restaurants were beautifully decorated. Service was excellent. Staff so friendly. Food was really good. Entertainment very good nightly. Large pool. Lots of chairs. Would definitely return.
