A Dream Getaway at Riu Latino, Mexico - Thanks to My Amazing Travel Agent!

From the moment we arrived at the Riu Latino in Costa Mujeres, Mexico, it was clear we were in for something special. This adults-only all-inclusive resort exceeded every expectation - stunning beachfront views, impeccably clean rooms, incredible food options, and a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere. From the very first conversation, he listened to exactly what we were looking for - a relaxing, beautiful getaway with great food and adults-only vibes - and matched us with the perfect destination. He handled everything: flights, transfers, and even made sure we had all the travel documentation we needed. It was completely stress-free. Thanks to Luis’ expertise and attention to detail, this vacation wasn't just good - it was unforgettable. Riu never disappoints

We loved the hotel, food was delicious and plenty, people were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and you can tell staff cares about it, bravo! The staff made us feel safe, comfortable and welcomed. We’ll definitely be back! My only suggestion, the laundry detergent that is used for the sheets smells very strong and I had issues sleeping because of it, looking for something with a softer scent or no scent would be better.

Second timer!

Just came back on Saturday. This place has it all. The food is amazing. Four restaurants to choose from without needing to make reservations. The beach was amazing. Some seaweed but would always be cleaned and we swam in the ocean everyday. The pools are clean. The grounds are immaculately clean. Theres always entertainment or a party, but lots of quiet space for those who want quiet time. Can be noisy sometimes. If your room is around the stage, you won't be sleeping early. Excellent service. Epic time. I'd go back for a third time.

This resort checked all the boxes. Bravo Latino!

This was my first trip back to Mexico in over 30 years and Riu Latino checked all the boxes. It’s a relatively new hotel and it shows. All the amenities from the lobby, to the restaurants, the five pool decks, multiple bars, the water park, lounge chairs, sun covers and our room, everywhere we looked we found this resort equipped with the latest and the greatest. The resort was always clean as the staff was constantly seen cleaning and polishing at every turn. Our maid service was superb, always on time and extremely thorough. The beach is the largest I’ve seen and although there was some sargassum evident, it was cleared away and the beach groomed every day. There were plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas at the beach as well as on the pool decks. There were lots of activities around the pool areas from aerobics to bean bag toss, water polo, volleyball, table tennis, beach soccer, bingo and more. Had lots of fun making use of the water park. The entertainment in the evening offered quite a variety from Las Vegas, to Mexican, various countries around the world, rock & roll, Michael Jackson and karaoke. Food in the restaurants was excellent including the complimentary house wines. The buffet restaurant offered a wide choice of cuisine from Mexican, to Chinese, Italian, Seafood, meats and salads of all kinds, vegan, and more. Great selection of fruits, baked deserts, and ice cream. There were four of us travelling, my wife, myself, my daughter and son in-law. My wife and I were celebrating a mile stone birthday and my daughter and son in-law their second wedding anniversary. As such the resort was kind enough to surprise us with two bottles of champagne to compliment our stay. I highly recommend this resort and we hope to go back soon.

Short trip great hotel

The food was amazing. The place was clean. There was a club on site. The waterpark was ok. The beaches had some seaweed but if you get pass the shore it's not so bad. The gift shop was pricey. A little far from Cancun.

One of the best Rius

We are travelers who have seen many resorts in the Carribean. Riu Latino is a newer resort very modern and managed extremely well. The services are excellent starting with the reception which is fast and efficient, the maid service which is very good, to the super stuffed and staffed buffet which offers choices from around the world. The 5 swimming pools are acommodating every need, with bars attached and excellent service. The only comment I could make is the walkway to the beach which is short [... read more] and exposes tourists to a 5 minutes walk in the heavy but beautiful white sand. The beach has some seaweed but it is cleaned daily and offers bar service by the hardworking team of the resort. Nexustours Reps are on site daily and efficiently manage all requests taking care of transfers and trips which does not happen in many resorts.The animation team is excellent and organizes all day events: the resort is a happy party place for most young adults.The A la carte restaurants are Ok is you are not dreaming about fine dining. A very good resort which I recommend to all adults as price value as well.

Great Resort!

We had a great experience at Riu Latino. The resort is beautiful. The grounds are really clean and well kept. We enjoyed the food at all the restaurants, the Italian was our favorite. The staff were all very friendly. Would highly recommend a stay at this resort. We will be back!

Nice Resort

- New hotel - everything was fresh and inviting - Public bathrooms - felt that there should be more bathrooms closer to the stage and restaurants. [Staff did a good job keeping them clean] - Rooms - Kept exceptionally clean but the view was AWFUL - our two rooms were on the second floor. Entertainment - pool entertainment was exceptionally good and evening was average, however, the hotel gets really quiet at around 11:00 there should be something available to entertain longer. Would I go back - Probably not - found that you had to walk a lot to get where you want to go. Very disappointed with our hotel view. Many of the hotel festivities had to be shuttled to the sister hotel. Hotel was far from everything. Be aware - Cancun charges Environmental tax at the hotel and Vista tax

Best resort I’ve ever been to!

This was a great trip for all of us. I took my 3 adult (20 something) kids to Riu Latino. It was perfect for them! We all loved it. Something for everyone. The Riu parties were really fun. The hotel/rooms are pristinely clean. Service was amazing. The staff work extremely hard and I was more than happy tipping everyone as a result. Entertainment was impressive. I loved that they had food stations cooking on site in small batches so foods like, steaks, fish, pastas, Mexican, etc. were always fresh. All the restaurants were very good as well. We are foodies and eating did not disappoint. Pools are great in that you had a selection from quiet up to drunken pool bar and everything in between. Beach was beautiful. Pristine water and gorgeous white sand. Can’t say enough good about this resort. It hits every 5 star for sure! The only thing I would say could be nice, is a boardwalk from the resort to the beach as it’s a long walk in hot sand but that’s minor:) Great trip all round!

Wonderful vacation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Riu Latino. The resort was impeccably clean, more often than not when I went to the washroom someone was in there cleaning. The food was very good with lots of variety. The buffet alone could've satisfied me for the week. But the a la carte restaurants were very good and the no reservation policy was nice. This was our first time at an adults only resort and we really liked it. No kids around and the party atmosphere was not too loud or out of control.  [... read more] The evening shows were quite good and we went to almost all of them. The bartenders made a great variety of delicious drinks. The entertainment staff did a great job of offering fun activities of which we did a few. The beach was beautiful and the pools always had a chair somewhere. I'm trying to think of any negatives, the only one I could come up with was when we went on an excursion south of Cancun it was a long trip each way. I would absolutely return here.

Great vacstion

Riu Latino Kalido transfer to hotel was wonderful, no lines to checkin. Room was great , view amazing off the balcony ( ocean front room). Sports bar was great , snack food was good no complaints. Expresso martinis are as everyone has said very good, Apple martinis are also amazing. Steak house the first night was disappointing, we had the grill for two steak and chicken were dry but ribs and shrimp were good. Pools - Each day we tried a different pool. They lovely each with their own vibe. Lots of spaces with shade available even after 10 am ( resort was at capacity), so no need to get up early to save a spot unless you really want a specific area. Dined at Geshia, the food was very good ( first time a bit on the salty side,second time it was excellent). Absolutely the cleanest resort we have ever been too. Everywhere is spotless, grounds all the washrooms, it’s amazing! Wifi good by the pools, room, lobby and restaurants, spotty at the beach. Italian restaurant was very good. Loved the buffet style appetizers bar. Everyone’s main course was delicious . We loved that they had drink carts coming around the pools. Very convenient. Velvet the lobby bar had a great setup, ample seating and popcorn! We had our pre supper drinks there every night. Entertainment is your standard resort all inclusive fair. Some good some cheesy but it’s all good fun. Very comfortable seating to watch the shows and two bars in which you get drinks. The silent disco on Monday night was fun. Good music and energy. Rained heavily overnight Monday and was raining for most of the morning on Tuesday. First time ever we experienced a continuous rain day. Good day for kicking back, reading and resting. Forecast says it should stop by noonish. Fingers crossed. Beautiful last day. We checked out at noon ( not getting our transfer to airport until 6:30pm). Front desk informed us that after 5 pm we can only use the sports bar not the a la carte restaurants. Will test that theory lol. Either way we are fine but we plan to pop into the Italian at 5 so we shall see what happens. Had no issue going to the Italian restaurant after we checked out. It was great to have a good meal before the transfer back to the airport. Be prepared for Sunwing at terminal 2, no baggage drop off so checking in online saves zero time. Took 40 minutes to get through check-in then about 5-10 minutes for security . After that continuous route through duty free stores to the gate. Flight left on time and was a smooth flight home.

Riu Latino Mexico the perfect ADULT Resort

The Riu property is just ideal. It is not too big, easy to find your way around, the grounds an immaculate (Bravo grounds keepers, that were always working - in the heat!). The Buffet and restaurants were superb. The beach was perfect - a great walking beach that went on for miles. Lots of swimming pools for those who prefer. Entertainment was good. Relaxing,fun hotel

This resort is immaculate every where,the staff are seen cleaning and ground keeping constantly.The food was great as usual for a Riu.The only downside I could see is that there weren’t enough bathrooms around the resort,with many having long lines as there weren’t enough bathrooms only two stalls in most. Otherwise we would definitely go back!

A fantastic experience!

The resort was simply amazing. The room, buildings, and grounds were impeccable, the staff was so kind and helpful, and the food at the restaurants was superb, with lots of selection to meet everyone's tastes. The beach was absolutely spectacular, an endless stretch of white sand, and calm, turquoise waters. So happy there was no Sargassum on the beach. I would highly recommend this resort!

Amazing resort!

This resort was beautiful! It’s still fairly new. The beach is beautiful. No reservations are required for the a la cartes. Food is great and lots of options. Must try are the expresso martinis from the velvet lounge. The bartenders are great. Ask for top level alcohol and they will make your drinks with that no problem. Will definitely return. Beautiful part of Mexico :)

Great resort

Very nice resort! Very clean and and rooms are very nice. Beach was great with no seaweed. Velvet lobby bar was great. Food was good except for the steakhouse. Only negative thing about the resort is they don’t have room service.

This hotel was very nice very clean staff were all fantastic and very friendly and all very hard workers. Anything we needed they were very quick at responding. Food was good. We always were able to find something at the buffet to satisfy us. Bed was comfy pillows were small but that’s what I like. Pools were all clean lobby was great. Beach was a little far. Riu Latino

Resort is beautiful, long sandy beach, water little rough but did not prevent us from swimming in the ocean. Resort is clean, well maintained, food no complain, service excellent. Rooms spacious; air conditioning working perfect, cleaning service excellent. All in all great vacation!

Decent resort

Very clean. Friendly staff. Food options are limited but there is something for everyone. We had a hard time getting bottles of water, had to call down several times to get some...There is a lack of bathrooms and ways to get drinks. And basically zero food after 10pm. Had a great time, but would probably goto a different place next time or different RIU.

Amazing Vacation

The beach was fantastic, the staff very friendly, an amazing vacation! Hotel was clean, food was good, staff were accommodating. Changed rooms as we were on top of the disco, they were so amazing about it.
