Great Vacay

I stayed at the adults only side of Serenade in October 2024 and returned to the family side in December 2024 with my 12 year old son. The adults side was so amazing and I wanted to try the family side. We had a swim out in room block 4 - directly across from the sports bar and close to the beach. The Good - the resort is close to the airport - only about 15-20 minutes. There is a small reef near the back seaweed barrier to watch all sorts of fish swimming - we even saw a baby sting-ray! - the water slides were never that busy and a lot of fun - the food truck on the beach and sports bar were great and better quality food than anywhere else on the resort. The Not-So-Good - check in took 1.5 hours of waiting in the lobby as our room wasn't ready (check in is at 3pm and we arrived at 3:30pm) - frustrating and hot - the staff are hit and miss. Sometimes you feel as though you are welcome and sometimes you feel like they resent you. We tipped for every drink, housekeeping, mini bar, bell man, literally everyone all the time - but some staff made us feel unwelcome - there are kids - EVERYWHERE - be prepared for screaming and crying and sloppiness throughout the resort. The resort is small and feels small when it is at full capacity like they were in December - the swim out room pool was quite dirty and needed to be cleaned more often - the beach vendors get exhausting - every single day at least 30 times a day you will get approached to buy excursions - for a family resort - there is zero privacy in the rooms. The shower is see through into the rest of the room so we had to take turns waiting outside while the other person showered or got changed. I get that for a couples resort, but families needs more privacy - the arcade was the most expensive arcade I have ever been to in my life - period. It was empty for that reason. - you can hear everything outside of your room - music from the beach, carts wheeling down the hallway, music from the pool, you can even hear full conversations of people walking around outside. There is no sleeping past 7am without earplugs and no way to sleep before 11pm either. SO LOUD. Overall - it was a great trip in spite of all of the little things that I noticed. I chose not to complain about it and we had a great time together.

Amazing resort

Food was excellent which was not expected but was very well received. The entire resort is clean and the staff all are nice. First time travelling and this has set my expectations high. Most staff knew how to speak English. The resort had great facilities and things to do up until late night. Rooms (luxury master suite) was fantastic.

I was on this trip for my sister’s bachelorette trip. We had 9 guests total and 4 rooms. My sister (the bride) and I had the smallest room with our friends being upgraded to suites, and one room was even in the VIP area. The resort is smaller than most. There are a lot of children and families and no adult-only areas. The food was as you would expect. The staff was unhelpful. Good resort

All swim out rooms are on the ground floor and cost extra. Floors 2 & 3 are regular rooms. Having said that elevators don’t always work so beware if you are looking for handicap access. Not reliable. Check in seems unorganized. Rooms generally not ready till 6pm. Other than that the resort is good.

Nice resort but...

The resort was beautiful, staff were friendly, the grounds were really clean (except for the smell of sewage in some areas, just hold your breath and walk by quickly) but unfortunately 3 out of 5 of us ended up food poisoning (E. Coli) with one being hospitalized after eating at the sports bar. The rooms on the family side were nice but the bathroom was a little off putting with a window the size of a door open into the shower from the rooms. The pools, beach and water slides were all really nice. All in all the resort was really nice but we are understandably not going to return.

Well enjoyed

Hotel was aesthetically very nice. Rooms were clean and bug free (don’t leave your sliding door opened and you’ll have no issues. Rooms were cleaned daily- always had new towels and hot water. They originally faced us to construction which was not very nice; however, after going to front desk and they had us in a new room the next day which was pool view and much nicer view. Pools were nice, they often moved around with where they had music- I’d have liked them to stick to one spot so we didn’t have to travel around. Pool grounds were extremely rough- my child’s feet were bleeding and the pool floor pretty well shredded through two pairs of water shoes. The beach had a lot of seaweed with the exception of a spot to the left. There was always chairs available at the pool and beach so that was nice. The sports bar was good and open late, beach truck had good hamburgers and hot dogs. Coffee bar was a very nice touch in the mornings and evenings. Not much to do in the evening- we did travel with a young child so we’re not that bothered about it as he was tired. They had nightly entertainment but the theatre is so incredibly hot that it was very difficult to sit through the hour. They have a kids water park but the big slides were too large for my child and the other kids pool was a bit too young for my child so there was not much for the in between stage. All in all it was a nice resort and I was pleased with it. It checked pretty well all the important boxes

Fantastic Holiday!

We booked at the Serenade Resort and Spa from May 9-16. This was an excellent resort and stay. Resort was well managed with a large number of very friendly and cooperative staff. Food and drinks were very good overall. Our room was spacious and fully met our expectations. Ours was a premium jacuzzi room (4321) at the front of the resort and facing the beach. View was exceptional. The room included the Preferred package of options which is highly recommended. This included a specialty restaura [... read more]nt (Gourmet) ; served a 5 course meal which was one of the best we've had in a resort. Preferred also included a separate infinity pool bar area on the 4th floor rooftop facing the beach; spectacular view. Best of all it included access to the adjoining Serenade adult resort; full access except for the ala cartes. Buffet on adult side was exceptional. Beach was large and very clean. Small amounts of seaweed cleaned daily. Minor point was the separate checking for the Premiun room had already closed at the time of our arrival about 6.00 pm. Highly recommend the Serenade for services and value.

Just what we needed!

Our family of 5 were in love with our rooms. Plenty of space to relax. The resort was very well kept and always looking fresh. The ambiance in the evening was incredible. Seeing the hotel lit up at night was truly beautiful. There was plenty of tasty food at the buffet and a la cart restaurant choices too. The staff was friendly and always ready to help.

Pros and cons

Let me start off with the pros This resort is beautiful very clean in the rooms are amazing. The staff for the most part was extremely friendly and very helpful. Now for the cons if you were a beach person and love to go into the ocean this is not a place for you the beach is awful. There is a terrible smell of sewer throughout the resort. Beautiful Resort

This resort is new and well maintained. The rooms are very nice and clean. Our swim up pool was excellent and clean. The grounds were well maintained. The food was good but not excellent. The drinks were also good but not excellent. The staff were excellent!

Beautiful resort

We spent a week at Serenade resort and spa. It is a wonderful resort. The food is top notch, the grounds are beautiful, rooms are great,the pools are great and there are a lot of pools for children and a games room for the older kids.the only downside is the beach, there is a lot of seagrass and there are sandbars throughout so there is no water higher than shoulder level .

this hotel was big , with 7 residents buildings and the main one for reception, restaurants and bars and shops the grounds were well maintained , staff were constantly cleaning everything the buffet was good with daily changes in variety of food breakfast was interesting as there was a Constand lineup for crepes and the donut wall was a hit with the kids and adults alike WE were able to eat at three ala cart restaurants...Japanese, steak and Mediterranean the Japanese restaurant was aweso [... read more]me there was plenty of entertainment near the pool bar, lots of music and dancing the beach was good. we took almost daily walks along the beach and a few times went into the ocean my only complaint was our room our room was fine but the bathroom had some issues 1- the bathroom door would not lock we called maintenance, they came to examine it and they said they were coming the next day with the the proper paets guess what...they never came back the whole time we were there 2- there was no privacy in taking a shower I had to hook up my shower curtain which I brought with me and an old beach towel to provide more privacy for the whole shower the shower and bathroom area was badly designed everything else was okay and we enjoyed our stay for the 7 days

Beautiful Family Resort

This is a very lovely resort with clean rooms, a fabulous walkable beach with powder white sand and very good food. It is definitely a resort I would recommend for families with children from babies, toddlers to the age of 13. They have an adults only resort right next store or the preferred section if you’re travelling without children I definitely recommend this resort for a family style vacation

Beautiful Resort

The hotel is very nice and the pools are well maintained and crystal clear the rooms are large and so is the decks What I didn’t like was the resort is in total darkness at night so if you need to leave your room it is quite scary

Amazing Vacation, worth every penny

This resort is by far a true 5 star hotel. It is extremely well maintained, cleaned regularly. You will see staff everywhere doing something to make the experience better. The food is great in buffet. Breakfast has crep station, which is great. The staff serve you no matter what (tipped or not tipped). Very friendly staff. The restaurant reservation system is online, no need to line up every morning to reserve. You can book 2 days in advance. We tried the Japanese and Mediterranean, both great. [... read more] Did not try the Italian, they make great pasta and pizza in the buffet. The rooms are great, almost sound proof. The elevators always working. The pools are extremely clean and well maintained. The entertainment is okay, someday better than the other. The beach party was the BEST I have ever seen. It is my first time too book with this Spanish hotel chain and I loved it. I can't wait to try the other ones in other locations. I have been in lots of RIU, Oceans and Iberostar, this Spanish chain by far surpasses them all. Keep the quality consistent and don't disappoint the customers.

What an incredible family-friendly resort! From December 17th to 24th, we stayed in the master luxury suite, which pleasantly surprised us with its spaciousness. It comfortably accommodated our family of 5 and then some. The food was exquisite, and the staff was incredibly friendly. My wife, who has high cleanliness standards, was particularly reassured as her expectations were not just met but exceeded. Excellent

Grounds were well kept. Very clean. Always mopping, always cleaning public bathrooms. Rooms are clean and modern. Luxury master suite was extremely spacious, like a mini condo. It had 2 full baths, 2 king beds and a sofa bed. Bathroom ensuite had no door it was just fully open. Odd if youre sharing with friends. But in the regular rooms theres a blue design on the bathroom glass not fully covered and you can see through the uncovered edges. Need to book reservations 2 days in advance on the app. Good layout of the resort. Everything is easy to get to. Plenty of chairs at pools and beach. No need to reserve. This is by far the least English speaking resort we've been to in 20yrs. It did seem Spanish speaking locals or from other countries got more attention even when we tipped. Those same visitors were very rude, pushing kids out if the way to get their food first at the buffet. This was every meal. This was not the resorts fault. Hard to control other's behavior. Overall we would go back. Very happy. Oh and the bottom of the pool is rough for kids, bring water shoes for them.

Beautiful Experience

Staff were absolutely friendly. All amenities were spotlessly clean. The hotel is about 2 years old. Staff worked round the clock to keep up with the maintenance of all areas included the frequent removal of seaweed washed up from the beach. A beautiful experience all around

Beautiful resort

We enjoyed our stay in this resort. Food was amazing. Clean. Nicely maintained garden. Drawback was the language, everyone do not speak English. It was noisy. Rooms are not sound proofed. It was our 40th anniversary and they put a banner with a birthday wish & a Happy birthday cake which was not appropriate for our celebration

Serenade Punta Cana - worst vacation

This was our 4th time in Dominican. Lets start with: Airport pickup: Longest time we ever had to wait to get from airport to Resort. Considering that we bought privileged package - i believe this is not acceptable. Check-In: Once we got to Resort our checking supposed to be done at privileged desk. Apparently, it was closed - never saw that in any other resorts. They had privileged desk open for 24/7. Speaking about privileged desk - had to go couple times asking to fix elevator butto [... read more]n - we couldn't get to 1st floor due to bad button. Told that that would be done ASAP - never happened for 5 days - i am not sure if it is fixed right now. Rooms: They were great - we had 2 rooms in one suit with 2 bathroom and showers, 2 TVs as well. Room service was done every day and was pretty good. Restaurants, Bars and Food: All ala carte restaurants needs to be prebooked. In our case they were booked for us - time was not good. We had to rebook few and after visiting one we simply gave up on going to them. We had to wait to hours for our meals. Many people were giving up and going to buffet. Buffet food was OK, nothing very special but still a descent variety. Service in the buffet and restaurants is awful. I never had to wait for server before, this time in most cases we didn't even see one, unless i was going and asking for something. In previous resorts as a privileged guests we never had to book any ala carte restaurants and were able to walk to any at any giving moment of time. Most of the time we spent at rooftop bar. It is only one location there service was exceptional. Funny - but it was closing at 6 pm as well as most of the pools. Why? Beach: Technically doesn't exist. That small sand walk way is hard to describe as a proper beach. Rest of water front is covered with seaweed. Privilege section was OK but we never saw a single server around. Every time you need something you had to go to bar. Shows: You can forget about them. They start to late in my opinion. If you travel with kids - it is going to be hard for them to wait until 9 30 am. There is not enough air flow in theatre. Shows themself worst i ever saw. Check-Out: Was good, except i ask for golf cart to take us to lobby with our luggage - never showed up. Had to wait almost for an hour before van showed up. I would not recommend this Resort to anyone. Dominican resorts always were outstanding, this resort is 3 star Cuban Resort.
