We just came back from a couples getaway and had an amazing time at this resort. From the moment we arrived, everything felt luxurious, new and welcoming. We had upgraded to the Preferred club which gave us private transport to the hotel.
Check in was easy. We were immediately given a welcome drink off the bus and then brought to the Preferred Lounge where we had more drinks and snacks available while we were checked in. Our butler then met us and gave us a little tour of the resort on our wa[... read more]y to the room. Our room was modern and new, everything worked well and was digital, including motion sensor lights in the water closet which was a nice touch. Rooms were cleaned well, stocked well and turndown service done nightly.
We spent most of our time between the Preferred pool and the beach which were very close to each other. The Preferred pool bartenders were a great crew, all worked very hard to make sure people were served quickly and there were constant rounds being done on the beach and pool area to take orders. Edward, Jordy and Juan especially stood out but the whole team here was amazing.
In the morning for coffee and the evenings for drinks, both Preferred Club lounges were also amazing. Top shelf drink offerings, and the bartenders were excellent mixologists. Felix in the front lobby and Sueheidi (spelling?) and Miguel in the other one were wonderful.
The food was very good everywhere. Coffee was nice and strong and house wines were good. We understand the resort is feeding a lot of people so you aren't going to get a gourmet experience but we had no issues. It was nice not to have to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants and we never waited to get in. The Dominican buffet by the beach was also very nice on the Thursday night.
Now the things that could be improved. Service in all the restaurants was a bit hit or miss but especially in the Oceana for breakfast and lunch. I think we had some sort of issue every meal there but we still went for the beautiful view while eating and the food was good. Examples - one time they only brought one of us our meal and asked the other why they weren't eating even though the same individual had taken both our orders. Other times we would be seated before others who fully finished appetizers and mains before we received our appetizers and had to ask about them. On other occasions, water would go unfilled while servers walked by to fill water at other tables. None of this ruined our trip but the trip would have been near perfect without the issues.
I also don't know why a new resort is still using key cards. It's just something guests have to think about but shouldn't have to. They should upgrade to bracelets and this would also allow easier ability to identify preferred club members. As a preferred club guest, I know for certain non preferred club guests were using preferred areas because they are not really monitored extensively. Someone standing at a podium asking on occasion for a room number as you pass to the pool area is not enough and there was no monitoring of people coming up from the beach. Similarly, no monitoring in the Preferred Club lounges. I was never asked for a room number or any way to identify myself as a Preferred Club member here.

Looking forward to coming back!
This was our second time at Secrets Tides, making it a 7 day vacation this time. The grounds are still beautiful! Was happy to see the plants growing, creating more privacy in the swim out rooms, and the creatures returning. The little lizard we named gizmo. The food is delicious, though my husband very much missed the mushroom risotto at Portafino. This time around it was much busier, which often led to sunbed wars but I did not mind throwing a towel down and running for that beautifully warm o[... read more]cean. Can not advise on the nightlife as we often were sleeping by 9 haha.

Fabulous Resort!
The hotel and grounds were very clean. Food was great and overall wonderful experience! I would definitely go back!
We went to celebrate our birthdays and we had a very relaxing trip.
I recommend the following activities: painting on the beach, bracelet making, aqua fitness
The drinks were great and the coffee at coco cafe was really good.
Go see bartender Richard at the beach bar!!! He knows how to make good Margueritas!

The resort was amazing, loved the security that they had
Our room and the walk out pool was very beautiful. We definitely enjoyed the walk out pool in the afternoons.
The restaurants where great except the Italian one Portofino that is definitely not Italian food. The experience we had there was not pleasant at all. When we received the main course it was so awful that we took two bites and left it. When the waiter came by and saw that we got up to leave he did not ask what was wrong and why we where leaving the food just said bye and left it at th[... read more]at. They were too busy with one guy that I guess was more important to them than everyone else in the restaurant. The other restaurants the staff where amazing.
We did not go to the bars much we would only go to the main lobby before going to dinner. The staff there went above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. We mainly saw Alberto and he is a gem. The drinks that he made me its like he knew what I liked and after the second time he remembered my husbands drink.
I understand that the staff that works there some don't understand or speak English but it does not hurt to smile at the guests when they walk by. A simple smile goes a long way.
Also I noticed the day that we where leaving the guests that where coming(during the day) in got better treatment than we did when we arrived at 8:30pm. The guests should get the same treatment no matter what time you come in.
Overall I had a great time.

Amazing time at a fantastic resort
Simply put, the resort is beautiful. It is well laid out, just over a year old with nice modern touches, fantastic pools and a great beach. There are plenty of bars throughout the resort to keep you hydrated and lots of places to keep your belly filled! And the staff are all super attentive and polite.
We're hoping to go back next year!

Beautiful Resort!
This resort is top notch! The place is beautiful! Beach is so nice, and ocean was great for swimming! Pools were great and you Never had to worry about lounge chairs as there is never any issue getting chairs. No having to worry about saving a chair early in the day. Drinks are made to order and are very good! Food was excellent and best buffet I have ever experienced. Great that the only one restaurant (Japanese) required reservations. All the rest first come first serve and we only ever[... read more] had to wait maybe 20 minutes. Service was very good, and all the staff were pleasant. Only issue was during our stay there was a large corporate conference that at times took up portions of the resort without prior notice. We were not permitted access to these areas during these times (ie. certain restaurants, bars and pool, beach areas). Overall, I would recommend and return to this resort.

Paradise
There does seem to be some
Mixed reviews on this resort, but we had nothing to complain about. This resort is absolutely stunning. Beautiful rooms, amazing food similar to what we have had at secrets Akumal in Mexico, attentive staff, great shows, lovely beach lots of chairs and great drinks, and an amazing little cafe with snacks, ice cream, coffee and lattes. We had a very relaxing time and would highly recommend the resort.

Very disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We expected the best as we had paid for the best package. The appearance was very new and clean. We paid for ocean view suite but no view of the ocean was there....too much beach chairs and bars everywhere, blocking the view. The cleanliness of our room was less than expected....floors and mirrors were not done for our arrival or during the stay which was disappointing. Paying for a butler was not a good decision...he did nothing for us...he said good morning and failed to follow through on an[... read more]y requests we made forcing me to go to the concierge to insist in physical accommodation to allow me to access the beach. The food at the main buffet was very disappointing so we did not eat there if we could help it. The restaurants were the best part of the experience...good staff attention and excellent meals.
I would never pay for preferred status again...it was extremely expensive and not worth the service....if you were not tipping they would not serve...completely ignored us on the last day I guess since we were leaving soon but I paid for the full week of service. Lastly, the beach was not relaxing...the hotel allowed a truck load of vendors on the beach each day and they constantly begged and asked for money for their wares. In addition, people who did not pay for preferred came on our beach and got served as well so what did we pay $15, 000 for??????

Amazing Vacation and Resort
This was our first time trying the "Secrets" brand of all-inclusive resorts and we were not disappointed. This is a new resort, only a year old and was by far one of the best laid out resorts we have ever been to. Everything was kept clean and the staff took the extra effort to show the pride in their work for this resort. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised when we were informed that we were given a free upgrade in our room. The resort has their programs well organized with daytime ac[... read more]tivities to suit everyone and the evening entertainment was phenomenal. The food was the standard for resorts but the hibachi grill stole the show (was our favourite but it is the only place you need a reservation so book it early upon your arrival). We opted for the "Preferred" section and to us it was worth it. We would definitely go back again. 5 Stars.

Very nice resort
The resort was very nice, the beaches were terrific! The food was not good! Having stayed at other Secrets Resorts where the cuisine was amazing, this was very much a let down.
Most of the restaurant staff were not very friendly.

Excellente!
I just returned from a week at Secrets Tides. I watched so many videos, scoured the FB group, and read so many reviews that by the time I arrived I was already so familiar with the place! The resort is beautiful, and very well laid out. I stayed for one week in a Preferred Club Swim Up which was perfect. I love the option to spend time at the pools and meet new people or enjoy some alone time at my swim-up whenever I want. Hedral was my butler, and he was great! He is super courteous and makes[... read more] sure you have whatever you need to make your stay enjoyable. If you need anything, just ask. The animation team is awesome! Shout out to Skinny Girl; she is super fun! Robely at the Preferred Club check-in and lounges will always greet you with a welcoming smile. When the staff asks, “how are you today”, they truly care! Miguel and Sujeidy at the Reef building Preferred Club lounge are awesome.
The 3 pools are fabulous. There’s the main pool, the quiet pool (near the Manatees bar) and the Preferred pool. The preferred pool was crazy busy most days. The towel game here is real. Another advantage to having a swim-up! Having said that, the quiet pool was great – beautiful, peaceful and lots of lounge chair availability.
The food is good. Michelin star? No. But does anyone go to a tropical All-Inclusive for the food? You will not go hungry and there are a variety of options at all restaurants. If you’re not happy with your food selection, order something else.
So much discussion about whether the preferred club is worth it, and I truly believe it’s simply personal preference. I always opt for it because it’s my preference. However, if you are on the fence about spending the extra money, I say this: if you have never done it, I don’t think you will miss it. The non-preferred pools are gorgeous. The non-preferred swim-up rooms look spectacular. The Rendezvous lobby bar is fab and always buzzing with a great vibe. The breakfast and lunch options at the Market Café buffet are plentiful. If an additional restaurant option for breakfast and lunch, upgraded alcohol and a room closer to the ocean are priorities, then you will want to book Preferred Club. If those are not deal breakers, I honestly don’t think you’ll miss out. I believe that once you book preferred, you may not go back – but, again, that is just my opinion.
Overall, I had a wonderful trip and recommend this resort.

Excellent resort
The food was great. Lots of restaurants and you didn't need to make reservations. Check-in was super quick. Everything is new and clean. Very safe. Beach was awesome. I would highly recommend. Gym was well equipped. The quiet pool was just that - quiet. There are ceiling speakers in the room so you can play your own music. They thought of everything. It is about 50 minutes from the airport.

PERFECTION
You truly get what you pay for here. Some may find the price expensive but I promise you it’s worth it. If you find “ a deal”, it’s because there’s a problem with the report, PERIOD. Secrets Tides is brand new, luxurious, clean and incredibly beautiful. ALL staff are absolutely genuine in every single interaction. I will return here because nothing else could compare. HIGHLY recommend a swim up suite.

Beautiful Resort
Our stay at Secrets Tides Punta Cana Resort was an unforgettable experience, worthy of every one of these five stars. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning, pristine beach that was perfect for swimming and walking. The friendly, kind staff made us feel at home instantly, providing exceptional service throughout our stay.
One of the highlights was the accessibility of food at any hour, thanks to 24-hour room service and a convenient café. The brand-new facilities excee[... read more]ded our expectations; our room was immaculate and beautifully designed, featuring modern conveniences like Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling, his and hers large showers, and easy access to lighting controls from both the entrance and bedside. The entertainment options, including multiple free channels and screen sharing (although not compatible with Apple devices), were top-notch.
As preferred members, we enjoyed exclusive access to premium bars, pools, and a private beach area, along with exceptional dining options. Our butler, Jose, was a standout, consistently checking in to see if we needed anything, making reservations for us, and even surprising us with rose petal decorations in our room. His attentive communication throughout the day was perfect for us, though those who prefer more face-to-face interaction should let their butler know their preference.
The resort’s attention to detail extended to the cleanliness and condition of all amenities, from the preferred bathrooms with hand towels to the general maintenance of the property. The two-story gym with an available trainer and the spa offering extensive hydrotherapy options and outstanding treatments were impressive. The spa staff went above and beyond to tailor our treatments to help with our sunburn, providing a service that was both thoughtful and effective.
Dining at the resort was a delight, with Tierra, the South American fusion restaurant, standing out as our favorite. The food was incredible, and the service impeccable, prompting us to return twice during our week-long stay. While language barriers occasionally caused minor issues, the overall dining experience was excellent.
Evenings were spent enjoying the vibrant atmosphere at the Desires bar, where the staff ensured we always had our favorite mojitos in hand. The entertainment, though we often missed the shows due to late dinners, seemed spectacular from what we observed.
Housekeeping deserves special mention for their meticulous attention to our room, tidying up and preparing our bed every evening—an extra touch that truly enhanced our stay.
The only downside of our trip was the encounter with UBV, which we advise fellow travelers to avoid. The time-consuming presentation and subsequent loss of $600 USD were the only blemishes on an otherwise perfect vacation.
Despite this minor hiccup, Secrets Tides Punta Cana Resort delivered an exceptional experience that we are eager to repeat. The combination of beautiful surroundings, outstanding service, and luxurious amenities make this a destination we highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.
