Beautiful resort

This resort is very clean and well maintained. Lovely beach to swim and walk on. Pools crystal clear. Room was well appointed and bed very comfortable. Food was fine, the two BBQ nights the food was good and à la carte restaurants the two I tried were good. Hotel was not terribly busy the time we went it was only 33% full so the farther out restaurant was only serving drinks. We did have no hot water a few days but Air Canada compensated us for that.

Amazing Resort!! We will be back!!!

Our experience at Vila Gale was excellent the food was great, and very clean, with wonderful gardens, and an amazing beach, for those who like to sun and for those who want to swim and see the fish, there is an area where you can do that too. Rooms are spacious and very well clean with amazing staff. the drinks we great didn't have any shortages we travel with a family of 7 ages 18 to 8 and everyone loves it. I would like it for them to have a proper area for entertainment as the ones used dur [... read more]ing our stay were not big enough for everyone and their for entertainment was a little weak compared to other resorts we have stayed at however we will be back again the staff was great smack bar always had fries hot dog and grilled ham and cheese for the kid's, restaurants were amazing. The coconut stand on the beach was awesome always clean and nice people with great tasting coconut and the beautiful beach can't get any better than that!! We will be back!!!!

Lovely resort

Vila Gale offers the Cuban visitor a lovely beach, fantastic pools and many options for eating. As with other places, the staff are wonderfully attentive, helpful and always smiling. There is probably too much similarity among the specialty restaurants. The entertainment staff need a better way of letting people know what activities are happening throughout the day and what the shows are at night. Having the same Tuesday posting of events at the front desk all week does not help. This would [... read more] help guests plan a more active week especially if they knew where to locate equipment needed to play games like Petanque or shuffleboard. I was very surprised that French fries were not to be found at the restaurants around the resort other than occassionally showing up at the buffet area. The wait at the pizza place was also too long. ( an hour to an hour and a half.) I experience very few shortages throughout the week. Those that happened at the bars were quickly corrected when new supplies came in the next day. An afternoon grill at the beach would be a great idea for fish and burgers.

Nice experience

The staff are very nice and kind, the whole experience was amazing. Beach is beautiful. You just need to ask them to change the towels, but other wise the room was cleaned every day. They didn't have any issues with the food and there was no shortage during our vist.

Outstanding resort with A1 service

This amazing resort with 7 three floor interconnecting blocks is without a doubt the best in all of the past 12 trips to Cuba. It's modern, clean and each block is central to all stations. We had room 5210 overlooking the pool and ocean. The rooms were very clean, towels were replenished daily, and sufficient hot water for showers. Plenty of cha [... read more]irs available at the pool and beach. The grounds are well kept with wonderful artwork done with rocks. The beach is simply great with no rocks. Sea weeds are raked daily by the staff and the beach bar is close by. One can take a nice walk on the beach towards the Grand Aston hotel, whose beach has plenty of rocks and further down a Russian hotel. The food was also great. There was no shortage of eggs, bread, or meats and fruits. Although it was repetitive, we alternated nightly for having variety. The desert table could have had more variety. There were 4 a la carte restaurants: Cuban, Italian, Portuguese and Mediterranean. The first three are highly recommended. Due to the off season there was only one snack bar and one main buffet open, although there are plenty of buffets and snack bars all over the resort. The lobby bar and coffee bar is simply great to relax on comfy seats or tables. The staff were all very accommodating and hospitable everywhere we went. We were there from June 11-18 and there was no crowds which was a relief. The only downside was the presence of the pesky mosquitoes in the early morning and evening when there is no wind. Although, the staff do spray the grounds and a crop duster plane sprays by air you definitely need a highly effective bug spray with deep.

Very good resort

I picked this location because of the outstanding fishing opportunities in Paredon and this hotel is in an ideal spot to take advantage of this. This hotel met all of my expectations. The facility is new. The lounge/common areas were spacious and had a nice open exposure to the outdoors while offering shelter from the tropical sun and showers. Great Place to Try

Pros: Close to airport, approx 35 minute bus ride. Beach was beautiful and the best part of our stay. Never a problem finding loungers. Our room was in a great location, overlooking the main pool. Of all our stays in Cuba over the years, we’ve never had such a comfortable bed. Infinity pool was beautiful and peaceful. We had the best grilled ham and cheese sandwiches from the snack bar. We avoided it as much as we could. Through no fault of the workers, they had to deal with drink and food shortages. There was no shortage of mint for mojitos but they had no soda water or lime juice, so they used green lime drink mix. It was drinkable, but definitely not a Cuban mojito. Not a complaint necessarily just an observation. Overall, we would absolutely return but would really like to see improvements to the buffet temperature

Fantastic resort

I thought the resort's layout was perfect. The pool was near to our room, along with the beach, lobby and buffet area. Our room was ok for a standard room. Always had clean towels. The buffet had great food. Alacarts need much improvement.

Modern resort

Need more personnel in the main lobby bar, same at coffee station in the lobby . Food was decent knowing in what situation complete Cuba is. Very happy with beach, swimming pools, gim is very nice and well equipped. Beach chair guys are annoying, somehow you feel obligated to have them to help you and to tip them. In general staff is friendly and helpful.

Hotel was above average for this area.The grounds kept well and great beach and pool areas .Drinks in the lobby and coffee bar great as well. Food in the buffet pretty good as well as the pizza bar.( Note: no condiments around anywhere including butter so bring your own if desired). Water in rooms limited to 3/day and toilet paper scarce. Also there is no place to get money out from this hotel so bring lots of small denominations(American/ CDN) for tipping.
