Catalonia Riviera Maya: Amazing resort!!

Loved our stay at the Catalonia Riviera Maya. March 2026. 2 adults and 2 older teens. The family suite worked out well. Spacious enough for the 4 of us. The room was very clean and the housekeeping service was great. We had the Privileged package which gave us access to a smaller separate pool, a dedicated beach chair area and a dedicated bar. We spent most of our time at the Privileged pool but did use other areas of the resort for activities (volleyball etc ). Finding chairs at the pool was [... read more] never an issue and the practice of reserving chairs with towels didn’t have much of an impact as it was clearly posted not to do so. The food options were great. The buffet had a nice variety, lots of fresh fruit and veggies and regional dishes. I loved that it wasn’t centered around North American style fried foods. The A La Carte restaurants that we ate at were some of the best all inclusive A La Carte meals that we have ever had. The drinks were top notch. All made to order in a blender, not from slush machines. Being in the gated community of Puerto Aventuras made this better than the average all inclusive because we could leave the resort to walk around town and always felt safe doing so. The ability to walk 10 minutes and play a round of golf was a bonus. We rented a golf cart to explore the town which was fun. I would recommend this as a family friendly place. Not big on night life but that suited us. The shows were phenomenal. Very well done. Not too cheesy. Some very talented people in them. We would return to this resort and highly recommended it.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Overall a 3

The property is suffering from prolonged neglect and overall apathy when it comes to issues. We had changed from a pool view to an ocean view room to avoid crowds/noise at the main pool. Our room had a glimpse of the ocean, was directly in front of a noisy, active pool and right beside the speaker. Loud, thumping, bass from morning till just before dinner. Overall, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were disappointed and confused on our 2nd night when we chose Bordeaux to celebrate my birthday. The waiter was not just frosty, but downright hostile from the start, well before we had even uttered a word. We were at a loss as we were friendly and happy (on vacation) so unsure why he appeared so angry. It was an uncomfortable and tension filled meal. Overall the meals were just ok, as though the staff were doing the best they could with subpar ingredients. Our room had an alarming and overwhelming amount of mold present and the musty smell was overpowering. Air conditioning unit made a constant racket. No blow dryer in the room when we arrived; 1st one a staff member brought did not work at all. Mini fridge was not functioning; finally had a replacement after 2 days; also didn’t work. Had to walk to the bar to grab water, soft drinks, etc. The beachfront is beautiful and many folks took advantage of the snorkelling right off the beach. I would say this property is definitely not the jewel in the Secrets crown, evidenced by the fact that the UVC timeshare folks don’t push hard at all. How can you sell timeshares when this is the level of property you’re promoting? I would say that the brand shouldn’t be advertising a beautiful experience if they are unwilling or unable to deliver. Expectations definitely not met.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Amazing Resort

Just got back from an amazing family vacation. This resort is beautiful with lots to do for everyone. Make sure you have strollers or wagons for the little ones as there is a lot of walking. The beach is not the greatest but the pools are great. The only thing this resort needs to improve on is the buffet. There is only one buffet for lunch and there were often long line ups and some shortages of the simple food for kids. Really enjoyed our stay would go back. Great staff always helpful. Hotel needs some upgrades pool bathroom elevator repair. More pool side entertainment. Very clean resort. Great excursion options.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing for families!!

We stayed in the resort during March. 2 adults 2 kids .The thing that we were most impressed by was the kids club!! The staff there is so good with the kids and they did amazing programs with them including puting on a show for the evening for all to enjoy. There were many different activities for kids from ages 3-12. The resort is big and you can travel to it's different hotels through walking in the complex or on the beach, or waiting for a golf cart to drive you everywhere , golf carts come [... read more] every 10-15 min. It was very clean and the staff all over the place was kind and welcoming. Food in the buffet was okay but in the restaurants was delicious ?. Beach was accessible for kids and beautiful , many fishes to see if you're snorkeling. The only thing that bothered us was the small beds but we got along with it . Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit: A wonderfull off-the-beach resort!!

This is an exceptional resort snuggled and hidden in the mountains and hills in Riviera Nayarit. About 2 km in length rather than the usual square or boxed in resorts with the tall buildings. At this resort you can take in the tropical greenery, the birds and the wildlife. Getting around is easy.....either get your excercise by walking 1 or 2 km per day or hop onto the 2 dozen electric go-carts that will wisk you away to the different pools, hot tubs, water park or restaurant. Crown Paradise Golden: Just OK

My description of this resort is that it is quite tired. It could definitely use some updating. When we arrived in our room it appeared clean and older but ok. Then we realized that we had no a/c which we reported right away. They sent someone but it never did get fixed…no a/c in 29/30C heat! The wood on the bathroom door was peeling…a new one is definitely needed. Our entrance door, also should be replaced. There were cracks in the panels so you could see through! Our sink blocked (the f [... read more]irst time we used it, so not from anything that we did) so we reported it and they did fix it. Then the toilet was slow flushing so we reported it. When it was fixed it was too fast and almost shot a geyser when flushed but then there was a very toxic smelling odour coming from the bathroom…we asked for a new room. They accommodated us quickly with a new room which was slightly better. The food was ok but good luck getting into the à la carte restaurants. We would go online at 9 am (the time you’re allowed to book) to book for that night and they were usually all booked already! How does that happen?? And the two that we did manage to get into…the food was NOT great! The pools were very warm so nowhere to cool down and the rooftop pool was never running…no jets moving the water! The staff was lovely and very helpful. Our view was beautiful…an ocean view is a must!

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Excellent experience

From the staff, to the food and the resort itself we had an excellent time! Would go back for sure!! Staff was excellent, food selection was top tier and offered a great vacation spot! Beaches were clean!

Older hotel but kept clean. Wait and cleaning staff were great. Concierge was not helpful! I was disappointed with the food. À la cart restaurants were difficult to access! A poor system of signing up was utilized!

Crown Paradise Golden: Average accommodation

The hotel grounds were well kept and clean. Roof top pool was really great. Hotel rooms were outdated and could use renovation, especially the washroom. It was worth upgrading room for an ocean view from the balcony. Biggest complaint was the food. Breakfast buffet was okay with fresh omelets or fried eggs. Lunch and dinner buffets were sub standard…meat selections were usually overcooked as were vegetables. Access to à la carte restaurants was impossible. In 7 days we were only able [... read more] to book 2 dinners and in both cases, the main course was almost inedible…fish was over cooked and tough.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Return visit

This was our second swim out vacation to PYP in 3 years & yes, we would go back! Being a nice size resort, the lineups at the restaurants & buffet were never long. Good food, room service & front line staff were most accommodating. The property is still very well maintained & clean. Seaweed is an issue (but this is beyond their control), nevertheless, the crew was handling the problem daily.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: There Are Better Resorts

It's a small resort and for the waterpark, only children are allowed there. It's really nice and accommodating for children. If you want to book for a dinner, you better upgrade to privilege because it's hard to get a booking. It is done daily at 8:30AM but by the time you try to book it, it's either fully booked or it's really late. You get pulled into a timeshare and they make you feel really guilty about not getting it but luckily you have a 5 day grace period where you get your deposit back. [... read more] They say it will take 30 minutes but in reality, it takes 4-5 hours! Also the massage coupon is only for 20 minutes when they say it's for an hour! The massage is not even good! The food is decent; the buffet was the best restaurant. For the seafood restaurant, it is really disappointing and also the privilege dinner steak is awful. So upgrade to privilege for a day if you cannot book the steakhouse restaurant. Also, be aware that the restaurants are closed on random days.

Hotel Dos Playas Faranda: We left feeling like family!

We had an amazing 8 days at Dos Playas! The view was spectacular, the staff were amazing. Most of the staff have been there for years, and were always smiling and laughing with each other and guests! The food was always great with something different every day. The entertainment was fabulous, and the beach was awesome. We had an oceanfront room, that was clean and the bed was very comfortable! If we go back to Cancun we will definitely return to Dos Playas!

Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres: Fun time

It’s interesting there is no buffet option for dinner but we do like the option to get a beeper and sit in the lounge socializing till it goes off. For some reason the sports bar and bowling area were kept at freezing temperatures cold enough to need pants and sweaters? Pools were kinda cold too Check in not the best for non privileged All in all pretty good resort

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Great time!

Food was delicious and Wendy and Lucy were fantastic at getting everyone motivated for daily activities. Beach is lovely, however rocky in spots when entering the water. Our room was great, as we went with the preferred package.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Nice Snorkeling

The service was good, from waiters to house keeping. The food was ok but repetitive.The beach is small and not enough chairs. Unfortunately they had a big storm two days before we landed and there was a lot of sea weed (out to the end of the long pier). Rotting sea weed is disgusting. The fans in the rooms really need cleaning, they were brown. In general ok resort, everything is close and the people are friendly.

Grand Oasis Riviera: A wonderful relaxing stay.

I recommend the hotel for its beach and restaurants. I would not recommend the Italian restaurant but all others were fantastic. The grounds were very well kept and while some guests valued the regular visits from the local raccoons and coatis in some outdoor dining areas I was not a fan. Staff were very helpful and the day manager Anna was wonderful, helping to arrange something special for my wife and I on our anniversary. I would go back again.

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Beautiful resort

Absolutely gorgeous suite we had! The entire resort is immaculate and service is wonderful. We enjoyed the amazing food, beach with plenty of beach chairs, excellent layout for access to everything just steps away. It was very relaxing, white sand and great weather.
