Allegro Cozumel: Beautiful beach and friendly staff

This is a great little resort on a beautiful beach with crystal clear turquoise water. Great for swimming and snorkeling. Buffet food was always a good variety. The Oriental restaurant with tepanaki was absolutely fabulous and the staff are super friendly. If you are looking for a quiet resort to relax and enjoy the sun this is it. We will definitely be back.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing resort

Great for families with children as well as for adults only. Very clean. Great pools close to a beautiful beach. Good bars, good drinks. Huge selection of food , always fresh. Fun water parks for kids, beautiful gym for adults. Very good a la cart restaurant but difficult to book, rooms were very humid for some reason

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Excellent resort in all aspects!

This place is really nice. It is really big but everything seems manageable. You have access to multiple resorts and a bus to take you there, very convenient. Buffet was good, a la cartes excellent, grounds were clean, room was nice, staff incredible. A lot of families around, we met some nice people. A la cartes: Santa Fe (7/10) but a couple with us rated it higher. Lindo Mexican, 10/10, wow. Italian 9/10, excellent. Spanish, 10/10 (best steak I had). Service incredible at all. Tip these people well as they are working hard to please every guest. We are not big boozers but at each bar, I saw many premium name brands, so if that's your thing, it seemed to be they aren't serving cheap stuff. The chairs are an issue if you want to sleep in. We never had a problem getting a lounger by the pool, but my wife is out there to get a chair at 7AM or earlier some days. Occidental Caribe: Not a 4.5 star hotel a 3.5 at best

I paid extra for “Ocean Front” NOT Ocean view we got ocean view I had to look past 2 pools to see the ocean Pool views rooms cost considerably less the Ocean Front rooms. I paid for ocean front not ocean view. When I complained they changed my room (three days later) to a better room but still only ocean view. I only had to look past 1 pool to see the ocean not 2. In fact the ocean was so far you could not hear the waves just the sounds of people enjoying the pool

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Barcelo Maya Riviera 5 STARS without a doubt

When we were dropped off (first) in the shuttle from the airport, the people staying at different resorts audibly gasped at the site of our lobby as it is as grandiose as something out of a James Bond movie. Barcelo Maya Riviera (18+ only) has excellent service, food, and amenities. I don't have a problem with kids, but we definitely felt the difference - not having kids running by the pool or screaming in the lobby. Quite a hike from the airport and to Chichen Itza but worth being patient. If this isn't a 5-star, they don't exist.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing resort except for the CAPTIVE DOLPHINS

The hotel was lovely And the beach front was fantastic! The restaurants were also very delicious with lovely staff! There are many pools to choose from and lots of activities. I was absolutely shocked to see the tiny water enclosure that the dolphins were in. WHY IS THIS EVEN HERE AT BARCELLO? I have since found out that PLATA THE DOLPHON jumped onto the concrete deck and DIED while performing in a show in February 2025. ? PLEASE TAKE AWAY THE DOLPHIN AREA?

Occidental Papagayo: Great Resort for a couple's gettaway

We found the grounds to be beautiful eventhough it was the dry season. Our accommodations were up to par and spacious; loved the comfort of the bed and pillows. Room was cleaned every day. It looked like all rooms had a balcony to sit out morning or night to admire the view of the gulf. Although it was the norm to fill the fridge every day with 2 waters, 2 sodas, 2 beers, we did need to call once as they forgot to refill and another time to provide a bath mat. The staff was very very courteous a [... read more]nd accomodating. The pools were awesome, as well as the beach, with aerobics mid-mornings and other events in the afternoon. I loved that we didn't need to get out there at 6 am just to reserve a chair. They were always available any time of the day. Don't expect much in terms of nightly entertainment. There was just a little stage with a couple of amazing jazzy musicians (one saxophone artist, another guitare player). In terms of food, we did enjoy the variety from the buffet trying something different every day (but do expect the rice & beans every meal). The 3 a la carte restaurants were very appreciated, especially the Italian one - it was totally a great experience. I give it a 5 star rating. Except for the stairs from the main pool to the hotel lobby, the walking was very manageable at this resort. There were always shuttles around but we didn't feel the need to hop on.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Never disappoints

Barceló hotels are so well designed for every guests needs. Amazing service, beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations. We love this resort for its variety of restaurants and amenities, gym spa ball courts and tons of things for kids and adults of all ages to stay busy. Nice they don’t put the small water park way back of the resort like so many other big resorts. The entire resort is on the waterfront with a beautiful view and path to walk to the other Barcelo resorts. If you like to get out on the water and experience Hobie cat sailing and no experience, friendly staff will take you out for free. Just book at 9:00 day before. Beautiful beaches, bring a mask and snorkel some water shoes and snorkel right off your own private beach. Amazing if you are an early riser to encounter Sea Turtles right at the waterfront. There are magical Cenote parks close by to explore and much more. It’s worth the extra time to get to the resort. Only an hour from Cancun but the beach and hotel is with it. 2nd time stay. Going back this December.this year.

Barcelo Huatulco: Had a good time!

The resort was very clean. Staff were accommodating and work hard! Rooms were clean and in excellent shape. As with other resorts, be careful in the shower as hard to stabilize hot and cold. Entertainment was very good. Food in ala cart excellent and buffets were good.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Great resort but loud nights.

Third visit to the Barcelo Caribe. Love this resort… great beach, lots of evening options with shows and the mall, excellent beach volleyball court and pickleball courts and other sports courts. Food was great, buffet and ala cartes, however one in our group did get food poisoning, exact source unknown. Basic Caribe rooms are okay, could use some renos but bed was comphy. Nights were a problem. Only got one decent sleep in ten nights due to parties in next room and loud drunk people in hallways  [... read more]and leaving disco at 3:30. Called the front desk numerous nights. Sometimes it helped, sometimes it didn’t. Each of our visits the night noise has been worse. Not sure if we’ll go again because of this. Otherwise we love this resort!

Royal Hideaway Playacar: A Hidden Gem

The resort was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. It was everything we could asked for and more. We could have stayed longer and left us asking for nothing . The resort itself was extremely well kept. What you see on the website is actually what the grounds and beach look like. The staff kept the grounds impeccably manicured and did so in a fashion that they did not distract from the experience. Crystal clear blue, white sands and sandbars out certainly several hundred meters. The beach was the largest on the strip, with only about 200 guests its was wide open and perfect. If the ocean is not your thing, pick one of the many great pools and maybe one of the activities after lunch. The staff from the restaurants to the bell hops were beyond gracious and courteous. Everyone was very helpful and you always felt it was about you. Most activities were available for no cost. Available were tennis, basket ball, bikes, pickle ball, Bocci Ball and much more. There is also a games room and pool table off of one of the bars. The standard sailing and scuba were there if you wanted to pay. All the restaurants were amazing. This was the highlight as the food was truly five star and not a typical cheaper resort. You name it, it was there. Live music at the club, shows every night in the theater kept you busy till bedtime if you wanted. In a gated community you could walk to town and feel totally safe. Area made it accessible to the ruins, cenotes and snorkeling in Cozumel if you fancy. Adults only and your own concierge was a nice touch. February was a great month, sunny and hot. Occidental Caribe: Great beach resort

The ground, the pools were fine. Overall rm toilet only flushed when there was something heavier than toilet paper. The shower never did get hot for both of us. Took ages to even warm up. There were black marks all over mirror which was indicative of perhaps mold behind it. The toilet roll holder was broken and the bidet unusable. The housekeeping staff and dietary staff were wonderful. As a good fruit was very limited and food was OK.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Amazing Resort!

We loved the resort. The staff are amazing and welcoming. The grounds are pristine. Beach is beautiful and has a coral reef with lots of tropical fish. The pools are clean and there is poolside service. The buffet had lots of choices and is clean and spacious. The A La Carte restaurants we dined at were excellent - favorites being Tokyo for teppanyaki and the Italian restaurant which was located on this resort. The are a lot of activities available at the resort - Escape Room, Uspa which [... read more] includes a nordic circuit, bowling alley, fitness centre, surf ride, Dophnarius, go karts and more. The only negative comment I would have is the availability of chairs at the beach and pool. There does not seem to be enought because what they have is "reserved" early morning and there were quite a few people laying on the sand at the beach or on the green area by the pool. The resort was at full capacity when we visited, however, they need to invest in extra chairs They definitely have invested in having a great resort but the chair issue needs to be corrected.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Amazing resort.

We stayed at the Barcello Maya Beach Resort located about one hour from Cancun. It is part of the Grand Maya Resort consisting of six hotels. Stay at one, play and eat at them all. The hotel and its grounds are very well kept. Staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet has everything to eat and offers a daily variance. The other speciality restaurants are all really good and have to be booked in advance. There are numerous, connecting pools and water parks for the children from one end of the resort to the other. You can walk from each of them or travel on the “red bus” to reach each destination.The beach and ocean was also wonderful to experience for the break from the northern climate in February. There are length pools, mini golf, basketball, shuffleboard, and. Daily activities to partake in. We loved it all!

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: too big to spread out.

asked 4 times for room close to restaurants so on, because family member trouble walking given room as far away as could be told we are to busy .so my daughter gave us her room also different hotel what hotel has 400 beach chairs for 3000 guests. did nt get seat on plane that we paid 90 dollars for we waited in terminal 25 min for rep to show up . asked policeman for help . bus when found was parked 500 yard away from terminal instead of out front . when returning bus driver would not  [... read more]let my wife or my family on bus even thought all check in as requested nexus rep had to shout at him to let family on bus theres more but you live you learn ive been all round the world lived in 4 different continents. ps smaller is better.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great time at Barcelo

Had a wonderful time at Barcelo. Food was great. Italian and Seafood restaurants were very good. Service in the buffet and restaurants was A+. Room was nice and always clean. Would definitely return.

C est un endroit magnifique belle plage bonne nouriture service impecable reservation a la carte avec Elisabeth facile et elle est tres serviable . le fait de pouvoir aller partout sur cet immense site de marcher ou de se deplacer avec le vehicule autobus gratuit de pouvoir marcher d un hotel a l autre toujours a l abri de la pluie pour ce rendre au different resto (sur 11 nuits seulement 2 soir de pluie) c est ma troiseme viste fevrier 2023 janvier 2024 fevrier 2024 je pense reserver pour 2025  [... read more]pour la mis janvier.Le seul probleme c est le manque de gestion pour les chaises de plage il y en a enormement mais elles sont reserver malhonnetement par des vetements au lieu de serviettes pour 4 personnes elles en reservent 8 cy tu ne veut pas avoir de touristes autour de toi ne vas pas dans un resorts. IL y avait pleins de chaises reserve mais sans touristes autour Nous avons toujours trouver une chaise mais nous nous sommes enormement deplacer pour les trouver j usqu a aller sur la plage d un autre Barcello du site.Pour etre franche ce probleme est plus grave au tropical qu ailleur.Pour le dejeuner c est ouvert j usqu a 11 heures le matin j adore mais pour les chaises mon neuveu y allait a 6h30 le matin mais nous nous sommes en vacances et c etait a partir de 10h le matin en janvier que je trouvait des chaises mais pas en fevrier et mars l hotel est plein .

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Amazing Resort!

I’ve been travelling to inclusive for 25 years and will say that this was one of my better experiences. From the moment we checked in to checkout everything was top notch. Service, amenities, food, cocktails, cleanliness. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only thing that requires improvement in my opinion is they do not have enough lounge chairs. Barcelo Solymar: Terrible

Should have listen to reviews and stayed home. Worst vacation ever in 20 years. Stay away and safe your money. We are not fussy but this was the worst of the worst. Nothing to eat, no bars at beach, no entertainment….on and on and on

This hotel was great , Very large but you don't feel crowded. Many activities Golf, pickleball, tennis, Beach and pools are beautiful. Staff very helpful rooms are clean and spacious. Many choices of places on site to eat. Casino and sports Bar, Spa is great and shows are entertaining
