Paradisus Varadero: Disappointed

Write up of Resort --over promised and under delivered. Arrived at 11.30am. Did not get room until 5:30pm. Paid for The Reserve Junior Suite Ground Floor King Bed. Requested same building as rest of family. Got 2nd floor, different building, no phone to be able to contact family or call for a tram. On the 3rd day of arrival we were finally able to move into the building with the family and able to unpack properly. Originally was told we would get a ground floor then told would have to pay [... read more] $220 US then told it was not possible. Lots if inconvenience as I had mobility issues. Food at the main buffet was ok. Pasta line was always a long wait as there was one person serving one person at a time which took 5-8 minutes. No activities for kids over 6. Was told that this resort caters for folks wanting a quieter vacation. Should have been mentioned on the website.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Still my Favorite

Gracious, well laid out resort. Beach natural and unspoiled with white-gold sand and good safe access to sea bathing. We liked the beach restaurant for lunch, with spectacular view out to sea. Pools and surrounding area excellent. Room decor a little tired, but clean, spacious and comfortable Grounds beautiful: lots of green lawns, flowery bushes, statues, pools and fine tropical trees. Our favorite memory of this place is perhaps sitting in the airy lobby, sipping cool drinks and listening to the wonderful piano player. So relaxing. We hope to go back before too long.

Sol Palmeras: A Great Resort

The food selection was vast and delicious. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was kept clean. We had a wonderful week here. I would definitely recommend this as a high value vacation choice to anyone wishing to enjoy some time in Cuba.

Melia Internacional: Exceeded my expectations

I had always been reluctant to travel to Cuba based on what I had heard about power, food, beverages, etc. and shortages. I experienced none of those things. I am a big eater and found that I always had enough food to eat. The rooms were clean. The beds we’re made up every day. Staff were friendly.

The other restaurants were also fantastic, offering a great variety. * 24-Hour Snacks: Perfect for those late-night cravings! The 24-hour snack bar was a lifesaver at 4 am. * Daiquiri Bar: Words can't describe the amazing drinks at the Daiquiri Bar. The Espresso Martini, with that rich Cuban coffee kick, was simply divine! Beach & Activities: The beach is truly unique and breathtaking. The natural swimming holes and incredible snorkeling opportunities made it an unforgettable experience. Overall: I have absolutely no complaints. This resort exceeded all my expectations. If you're looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and fun-filled vacation in Cuba, the Melia Peninsula Trinidad is the place to be! Highly recommended!

Melia Trinidad Peninsula: Great Resort.

The hotel itself was great, the rooms, dining areas, the pools, bars, beach and the staff were all amazing. The only thing they need to improve is the entertainment as there wasn’t much going on around the pool for fun and at night it was just a band or singer, dancer and then a video screen for the rest of the night with videos of songs to dance too. I would go back again.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort!

Our family absolutely loved our stay at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria. Naybi was so great with our kids for activities all week. Plus, the beach is the most beautiful with the best service for drinks. The food by the pool bar is awesome for all meals of the day.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Great resort

The staff was amazing and friendly. The rooms & grounds were very clean. The rooms are dated but everything worked. Maintenance crew was very quick if anyone needed anything fixed. A nice close walk from the pool or room to the ocean. The sand on the beach was beautiful and lots of chairs with shade is provided. Snack bar was fast to get a bite to eat. The Italian dinner was delicious and insanely filling.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Great resort and staff

The hotel was great! The rooms were dated but clean! The dining was great and the staff were terrific. We had a great time staying here and would definitely come back again. It would have been nice to see the martini bar open because I loved the drinks that were served the first time we visited Tryp Cao Coco.

Melia Las Americas: A little piece of paradise

We enjoyed 2 weeks of sun, sand, golf and relaxation at this beautiful paradise. The warm welcome and assistance from the Level staff Tanya, Frank and Roberto were always appreciated. They ensured our stay was comfortable. The staff at Limoncello for breakfast and lunch were always met with eager smiles from Danay, Oslady, Claudia, Marilyn and Janete. Golf had amazing views and we never had issues with our tee times and we kept our bags at the club house where Ricardo and staff

Melia Costa Rey: Great resort

Everything at this resort was all good. Rooms were clean and had no shortage of any products. Food was good and the staff were very friendly. Had no issues here. I highly recommend this resort. The pools were amazing and the beach was great. I will definitely be going back next year.

Melia Las Antillas: Lovely resort

We upgraded to Elite and were on the fifth floor with an ocean view. Our room was very clean, spacious and everything was in working order. Our floor had access to a room that provided a variety of food and beverages from 7 am to 7 pm. The girls that worked there were so very friendly and helpful. The rest of the hotel was well laid out and the grounds were beautiful. There were no food issues as we expected there to be some so we were very pleased. There was no bacon but they did have ham, and  [... read more]the omelettes were good. If you were looking for a delicious barbecue burger, Norberto made them daily by the beach. The beach was why we came and it was absolutely beautiful! The staff went above and beyond to please us and had a special cocktail party for the Canadians.

Melia Cayo Coco: ALWAYS FABULOUS

This was my 6th trip to Melia Cayo Coco. The resort is well maintained, the grounds are lovely, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is the best. I was so pleased with the quality and variety of the food in all of the eating establishments. The beach is second to none and the weather was amazing.

Melia Costa Rey: Nice resort

The rooms are well maintained, the personnel is very nice. The food is good, the choice at the buffet is varied. The beach was nice and not too crowded. The entertainment crew was good. All in all, it was a great first experience for me!

Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo Coco

Staff 6 stars. Beach 6 stars! Ocean 6 stars!. Bars 5 stars. Rooms 4 stars (I had a renovated one). Activities 3 stars. Entertainment 3 stars. Don't come here to party: couples 60 to 80 year olds. Restaurants are the problem; the main buffet food is sketchy and irregular. Great omelettes for breakfast but no bacon. Lunch and dinner: no decent beef, lamb inedible, pork variable. Best are chicken and fish but very ordinary. Cooked veggies are from frozen or canned and are often cold in the war [... read more]ming plates. But hey, this is Cuba: don't come here to eat.

Sol Cayo Coco: All Is Well At The Sol

February 2025 First time to Sol Cayo Coco, We have been to other resorts on Cayo Coco but feel the Sol is the best, The staff are amazing, friendly and go above and beyond to help, too many to name and I do not want to miss anyone. We loved that it is a small resort with paved ramps for those with mobility issues and everything is close in proximity. There is also a path to a small beach past the rock cliff that is part of Sol. No shortages of food. We had lots to eat and a good variety. Buffet had grill station with beef, chicken, fish, mussels, sometimes pork chops and clams; also pasta station,on 2 different nights we had turkey also,salad fixings,cold cuts and hot trays of vegetables,beef stew ( delicious), etc. All the beef was tender( the first time we have experienced this in Cuba). For us lunch was at the pool snack bar which served pizza, hamburgers, fries and grilled ham and cheese. Ala carte's were Cuban and Mediterranean. Both were good. Our room was on ground floor with nice balcony. Was renovated, had walk in shower, comfortable bed ( new pillow top Mattress). Lots of hot water. the Cayos have their own power so no outages. Entertainment was good. Liked the outdoor covered stage area. Especially enjoyed the night the organ grinder provided the music in the lobby area and the young lady playing the saxophone . We didn't care for the nights that it was in the disco as the sound seemed distorted and loud. The guests from Canada and other countries were very friendly and always ready for a chat or to answer questions. Definitely will return to the Sol.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Best Resort in Varadero

Well kept. Everyting worked. There was no coffee making in our room. But I was told that I just should have asked for one. The food was very good. The grounds were well kept. My only conplaint would be that you can hear your neighbours out on the balconies, and you can smell their cigarette smoke. But once you close your patio doors it's okay. We didn't spend a lot of time at the room. There are plenty of bars. You don't have to go far for a drink. The service is verry good.

Melia Costa Rey: Nice Resort and beach stay from Feb 26 to March 5th

The Melia group has done a lot of work to the grounds and the buildings. A lot of the staff are still there from the Pullman days. The beach area is amazing the seaweed is removed every morning. There's lots of shade on the beach. The lobby bar has good cappuccino and drinks. The bar staff are very pleasant and a lot of fun to be around. There's two beach bars for the family side. The day before we left they started to have grills for the lunch time. They didn't have bacon at the family side or the adult side. The beef wasn't very good, very tough. The coffee wasn't very good rarther weak.The service was excellent at We went to the Cuban,Italian and Japanese restaurant all three where good. Thanks to Susan Sinder, our agent, she advised the hotel we were repeat guest. Our room had a beautiful ocean view. We where given a free bottle of rum and a invite to a five course dinner which was surprisingly good . We plan on returning next year again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good Resort

The first room we checked in to was dark and outdated. The toilet wasn't working well. We upgraded to royal service room and it was amazing except for one big complaint. No north American plugs in the room to charge your cell phones and so each night we had to ask lobby or snack bar to charge our phones. We stayed in room 7256 and it was awesome except for the charger situation. There is a USB plug under the TV but it works slower than molasses. People are friendly at this resort. Go meet Y [... read more]ohan at the snack bar, hes the best. Ask him for the Yohan special drink. It's fruity and amazing. The sunning rep Dainerys is amazing. You can find her in the lobby every day. I highly recommend the day tour in to Havana to see Tropicana. It was beautiful show. Pool is clean at this hotel surrounded by beautiful birds singing. They have lots of activities. Salsa with Kevin and Laudy is so fun. Would come back again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: This resort is a gem for those looking for romance, relaxation and stellar service

We have returned to this resort 4 times in 17 months and each trip has been amazing! We have celebrated an anniversary and 50th birthday at the resort during these vacations as well. We have been amazing at the attention to details for these two celebrations and the enthusiasm and kindness of the staff. The beach is breathtaking, the food has been excellent with lots of variety, the staff will try their hardest to accommodate any requests you may have. The Royal package lives up to the name and you are treated Royally! The deep soaker jetted tub, Buttler service and patio area will add to the relaxation and the romance! We love this resort and it’s stellar staff and will continue to book here in the future.
