Amazing Resort Horrible Airline

This was the 7th time my wife and I have visited this resort, and we can't say enough good things about our experience. The facilities have been updated since our last visit, and the food / service remains outstanding. To bad we can't say the same about Sunwing. Our flight departed a hour and a half late despite the fact the plane was at the airport and the weather was fine. My wife and I didn't pay to preselect our seats so they seated us apart on both the departing and return flights.

Great Resort

Nice hotel, well kept grounds. Welcoming to room was beautiful, lots of floral decorations & great housekeeping. Rooms, overall were adequate. Paid for Premium Level, a few more options/explanations of services offered for Premium level would’ve been appreciated. Booking a la carte restaurants was easy, efficient & always accommodating, service at a la carte & Vintage room was exceptional. Food was really good. Wine in a la carte restaurants is sub par. Lovely friendly Resort

This resort is one of the cleanest resorts we have ever been too, the grounds are beautiful. There are two adult swimming pools, we were at both, our favourite was the quiet pool, Great area to relax, swim, enjoy conversation with others. The bigger pool is a great place to have some water fun. The food at this resort is very good, everything on the buffet was fresh, loads of salads to choose from, many varieties of fresh fruits, there was always fresh meats of the grill, pasta bar was awesome [... read more]. Drinks were good, beer was nice and cold. Staff were very accommodating and pleasant. We had a great holiday and we will go back.

Great Resort

Overall, we were very impressed with the resort. The pool, beach and the food serving facility were impressive. We were extremely impressed with the staff to keep the entire facility clean. The food courts were kept very clean with immediate attention to any spills. The most important things important to a Caribbean vacation were covered. Don't forget to bring your tip money for all meals, because you will get the cold shoulder by the waiters at your next meal. Recommend taking some excursions as it is an awesome opportunity to see Dominican way of life. Very amazing to see traffic flow with all the mopeds especially to see how many people can fit on one. Despite everybody cutting everybody off, no one seems to get upset and continue on their merry way. The Dominican way of life, despite the poverty, appears to love life as they figured out how to eliminate stress from their life!! Something we all need to learn!!

Great Beach

Resort was clean and well kept, but in need of some touch ups. Nice that they had a quiet pool for people like us that don’t like the loud area. If your going thinking you will have great food, you won’t. It was just ok and had no flavour. If you like pizza and French fries you won’t starve. They have the typical omtlettes and pasta made to your liking so that was good. Over all I’d say it was a 3 star hotel not a 4.

Wonderful 2 weeks

The staff were amazing the Entertainment Team always full of energy. Could use more variety from day to day in buffet selections, but the food was very good. Having the mall within walking distance was great fo r those items you forgot or souvenir shopping.

Great trip at amazing resort!

We had a great time at Gran Ventana. The food was good, there was a good variety at the buffet. There was a pasta bar at dinner time, and fresh omelettes/eggs at breakfast. The beach had a snack bar with great chicken wings and pizza. The drinks were good and there was never a long wait at the bars. The bartenders at the swim-up bar and beach bar were great. This was a superb place .

The resort is fantastic , good food , nice rooms, quiet atmosphere. The restaurants are great. The way the resort is built as a very easy access to pool, beach with very close walking distance. The staff is really polite and accommodating. It did nt matter who I ask a question to they were able to help and or bring us to someone who could answer. The only negative thing I can say is that the bars close at midnight and they only have one make up bar with very limited drinks such as rum , rye  [... read more]and soft drink. and they close a 2 am this is located in the buffet area .Not a great atmosphere. They should do the bar near the beach where they have snack during the day and provide both there. That's the only down fall to the place. Amazing Vacation

The resort has beautiful grounds and buildings.The staff are awesome and make you feel at home. Only 15 minutes from the airport. The buffet and a la carte restaurants offer great selection and something different every day. The beach is the nicest along the stretch of resorts. The rooms are clean and bug free. There are different activities daily. Just returned home Feb. 15, 2019 and can't wait to return.

Nice resort for those who not like to do too much walking.

Was interesting to meet so many repeat visitors and, I myself would go back. Beach was clean and there was always a shady spot if required. Very friendly staff except for one bad apple "The Supervisor" he was not about the comfort of his visitors but about business. a la carte, not worth the hassle to get the reservations. The staff main focus was getting you seated and out ASAP.

Good resort

It was a good resort, food was good rooms were clean, the vintage club was good only thing I wish they did was block the vendors on the beach from being able to come in the vintage beach section, service at dinners was ok, could use a little work.

Fantastic and beautiful resort

The staff were amazingly friendly, the food was abundant and good. If someone needed to relax they even had a nice quiet spot. It was my daughter's first time in the south and she told me that she would go again. It was fantastic!

Had a fantastic time!

I traveled at the end of January 2019 to this hotel with my 23 year old daughter. It was a most relaxing vacation. The resort is small enough to walk easily from the rooms to the pool, food areas, and the beach. There was never a shortage of beach or pool chairs which was nice, but there are still those travelers who think its ok to leave towels on chairs and not come sit on them until 5 hours later! I was impressed by how often the pool staff tested, measured and maintained the quality of the pool water. Overall, we had no complaints and would definitely return to this resort.

Beau resort

Personel gentils Chambre propre Bonne cuisine Belle plage On a eu la chance d aller en ville avec un guide privee qui nous a fait visiter les coins les plus demander et il repondait bien a nos questions.

Excellent Resort

The hotel and rooms were very clean, Grounds were very well kept, Food was excellent and shows were good. Very easy to get around since it is a smaller resort. Jackie at the quiet pool always made our day. Amazing Lady. Would definitely return.

Perfect for resting(bad shows though )

Food was perfect.. the entertainment shows were not the best. The drinks at the bar were either too much alcohol or too much ice (watery). The quiet pool was perfect to read. The rooms were decent....

Great vacation!

Had a great time on our stay Jan 16 to Jan 23, 2019. Accommodations, food, all interactions with staff with great. Beach was beautiful too. We enjoyed sitting at the quiet end of the beach where the kiteboarding lessons were being taught and the beach vendors had their meeting place. However, my only complaint is that there was a fair amount of trash in the sand around the palapas and along the tree line. Also a number of broken beach chairs just shoved into the shrubbery and left there.  [... read more] It feels like this little area gets forgotten. Other than that, had a lovely time.

Beautiful resort and great atmosphere!!!

This was our second time at this resort....The beach is fabulous...rooms are bright and very clean...staff are super hospitable...The food at the buffet was varied and very tasty!! Lots of variety and suitable for many different dietary needs...The Ocean View a la carte restaurant is superb!
