Islazul Colina Hotel: Cheap but limited comfort

Had to change rooms because the first one was extremely noisy and the shower head was barely letting any water through. The second room was better but the window could not close properly- and it rained for three days, leading to pools of water inside the room. No internet access in the hotel. Food was good though and people helpful although not fluent in english.

Las Terrazas Aparthotel: Amazing vacation in a 2 star facility

Very helpful staff, neat and clean spacious apartment, good food with amazing variety and nice tropical weather with clear blue sky in a coconut grove near the white sand sea beach, very close to Havana it was much more than what I expected from a two star facility. In a word, "Excellent" and high value for money. Strongly recommended for budget conscious travelers.

Club Acuario: Need to be rebuilt!!

It was a medical trip, and the only : All inclusive Hotel in that area...To compensate comfort for me and my Wife, we asked for V. I. P, package. At the arrival: About 12.30 A M.....The nightmare began. My wife has walking difficulties and we were offered a room at third floor : Maybe " Trip Central" agent supposed to know and tell us that the hotel does not have elevator: At booking I asked for wheelchair service, and I believe it was agents obligation to tell me about no elevator. Is easy to r [... read more]ealize how was our week at the ACUARIO. The food and service was under any expectation. The communication with all staff almost impossible, All complex under total renovation: Dirty everywhere!!!. You could drink alcohol unlimited amount, but you couldn't get a bottle of water only if you pay it at the reception, and after that you have to go pick it up from the bar by the pool( 300 m. distance) The only nice people and ready to serve you were the one from Administration.. Thanks to them our stay was somehow comfortable. All other staff need special training of working with the customers . Hard to think about going back or suggest this hotel to my friends .

Marazul Hotel: good resort

I do say good in general, th food it was good, the areas clean, the pool little cold for swimming but good, entertainment was good, but could be better in that department, but im glad of my experience, thanks for the concern, marta.

Marazul Hotel: Old and tired hotel

This hotel is good only as a base for exploring Havana and area. The beach is very nice and great for relaxing. I would not recommend this hotel for families. The hotel lobby is poorly lit and there is no place to sit outside that is comfortable.

Hotel Atlantico: Standard 3 Star with Great Staff

There were few disappointments and plenty of positive things to report about Club Caribe Atlantico. This was my fifth trip to Cuba so I pretty much got what I paid for. The room was clean, hot water was plentiful but it could've benefited from some renovations; not a deal breaker. Beds weren't great but I didn't have trouble sleeping. O [... read more]ccasionally, there was a particular tasty meat or fish dish that brought the meal up a level. Musicians played during lunch & dinner and I would say they were talented and kept things light and easy listening for meal times. Entertainment was pretty standard for Cuban resorts but I found the musicians to be very good. They solicit guests for tips but are neither agressive or impolite so be respectful in your treatment of them. Hotel staff were a great compliment to the overall experience of the resort. Dining room staff, Bartenders, Beach staff and Chambermaids seemed content and eager to help. One employee noticed my Scuba Diving T-shirt and offered me a dive excursion from the hotel's beach. Within an hour we were on a catamaran heading out to a local reef. There were two free shuttle bus trips to Havana leaving from the hotel everyday and various excursions offered from travel representatives working in the lobby. Internet was available but staff advised us that it was quite slow; users confirmed this so I didn't use it. Currency exchange is available at the hotel but the rate is slightly lower than a regular bank. Not low enough that I didn't use it but Canadian money is taking a hit everywhere right now so budget a little higher until the rate gets better. This was a standard Cuban 3 star with great service and good return on the money I spent. Great scuba diving from the beach or Marina Tarara; the excursion people can set you up with that.

Hotel Atlantico: Fun in the sun

Club Atlantico was breezy and refreshing. I live for the beach down here. All the staff are pleasant and highly functional. It is a good idea to treat the all inclusive, re: food as an auxiliary feature and go out to a restaurant or two to really experience Cuban fare. The rooms are basic. But your outside most of the time. Just brush up on your Spanish. And take advantage of the free shuttle to Habana.

Hotel Atlantico: standard hotel

I recently spent 9 days in Havanna, split equally between the hotel and and a private rented residence in town. The beach and weather were very nice and I very much enjoyed the time in the ocean and the sun. The best asset of the hotel is the reasonable price point as it does not have top class facilities, but is just adequate. Tried for a whole week to get the television working but had no success.

Hotel El Bosque: terrible place

the people were very nice ,.but the food at this hotel was spoiled , i have been going to cuba for the last 12 years, never ever seen such bad buffet food all over.. poor management in kitchen , food put out from the dinner to be used up for breakfast..Only go there because family close by,,or i would never go there

Nacional de Cuba: A once historical Glamor

My recent stay at this hotel brings me back to the once glamor era of the history of this building. The historical tour gave me a background of the site and the history of the hotel helps understand Cuba and its relation with USA. The location of the hotel is great. Fo [... read more]und used shampoo bottle left beside the sink and cigarette butt in the toilet bowl sealed saying it is sanitized when we checked in to our room. Brought to the reception attention and no reaction or what so ever. Staff are not well informed of the facilities such as towels are available by the poolside and they told me to bring one from my room. Breakfast was great. Has a great variety but no spoons for your coffee or tea unless you ask for it. Met some lovely staff and that makes our stay comfortable.

Hotel Atlantico: Poor resort

Not good at all, the rooms were like a old motel, food is not good also, beach is the only thing that we loved it Service Is friendly Pool is small and not clean Not recommending for no one to go there

Marazul Hotel: Just Basic

Basic food, basic room, excellent location, very, very POOR Reception staff - very rude and very unfriendly. Good location; good restaurant service; not good housekeeping - skipped housekeeping for 2 days.

Hotel Atlantico: disappointed

I recently stayed at club atlantico . This August. I can say the food was ok . The building isnt in good shape the rooms are deteriorating. I actually locked myself in the washroom . Door knob came off. Lol . I dont recommend it

Hotel Inglaterra: Nice hotel, great location

My daughter and I stayed there for a week in July 2014. The Inglaterra Hotel is situated in the heart of Havana. The building has an interesting exterior and stunning interior. Our room was on the second floor facing the Grand Teatro building. It was a nice room with comfortable beds. The AC was working, even though it was a bit noisy and we had to turn it off at night. We enjoyed the daily, splendid, breakfast at the Colonial - a beautiful restaurant on the ground floor and spent a few evenings at the La Terrazza Bar & Grill on the 4th floor. The selection was not too extensive, but still pretty good. There was a live music every night and the view from the roof was amazing. Our room was well taken care of, with beautiful towel ornaments awaiting us every day. We made sure to tip well and leave presents for the housekeeping lady. The front desk service was rather poor, which was unfortunate. We got used to little knowledge and oblivion, but got upset when we were faced with an incorrect currency exchange rate. Mind you, the Reception was never busy, just very disengaged. The travel agent desk was a disaster. Their role was to sell pre-packaged trips, that was it. They had no complimentary area map available for guests. The only ones they offered were large maps for 3 CUC. Print some off the internet before you go! There was also a Car Rental agent, but we didn't chance it. Our vacation was with SunWing. It was very well organized, the transfers from and to Varadero were on time and comfortable. SunWing representative, Osmay, was excellent. We attended the scheduled orientation session and received valuable information and tips. We purchased two trips directly through him: a half-day Snorkeling trip at Playa Santa Maria and a full-day trip to Vinales/Pinar del Rio. We liked both and received a great value. The trip to Vinales/Pinar del Rio was provided by a local supplier Gaviota Tour. Our tour guide, Gustav, was excellent. He studied an University of Havana to become an English teacher. He also spoke French and were fluent in both languages. He was very knowledgeable and took a good care of the whole group. We would recommend these trips to others.

Marazul Hotel: Okay Hotel, lacking in proper food handling.

The place is a worn out but it was what I expected for the price and a 2 star. The staff are very nice and gave us great service We tipped modestly at $1 per meal and each daytime or evening spent at the bar. The big issue is the food handling. My husband got violently ill from the food for 4 days. The cook puts his thumb on the cheese when he spoons it to make an omelet for you. To be fair it was only one of the cooks.

Melia Cohiba: Truly a 5 Star

Wonderful time spent using this hotel as base for travel to Old Havana. Corner suite on 7th floor allowed us to see both sunrise and sunsets on the Malecon. Breakfast buffet was very good, plenty of selection and abundant. Wait staff I think a little to busy to serve coffee so we just served our self. Hotel restaurant served some of the best food we had all week. Attentive and friendly staff was much appreciated.Shuttle service every hour almost into Havana and back to hotel very handy. Hotel Paseo Habana: Nice!

Good location, good service, clean, good AC, nice people Yes I would come back. For that price no kidding. Just one thing finish the security boxes and about the rooster leave him alone CHICO,,,,Doesn't bother at all :)

Marazul Hotel: I'm a big fan of this place......

I have stayed here about 5 times now and I love it. The beach right across the street is superb. The staff are pretty nice and accomodating.. super nice if you tip them... which is always a good idea in Cuba. The rooms are very basic but clean. A few great english movie channels. My air conditioning has always been super. There are organized activites through the Sunwing desk like snorkelling and dolphins etc. You get a free shuttle daily to and from Havana and it's only about 20 minutes. The fo [... read more]od is fine by Cuban standards.. you will never go hungry. I LOVE this place... especially the package price. (NOTE: there is prostitution but it's very easy to ignore.)

Club Acuario: Very good for going around Havana

The plan was to be in hotel and to go around Havana every day. The plan was good. There is a free shuttle bus from hotel to Havana (and to East beach on the other side of Havana) and back. The only problem is that for coming back from Havana the shuttle bus returning time is too early, so we had to take advantage of taxi. The hotel is placed at Marina Hemingway what is actually very interesting. There is a night club at marina 2km from hotel. Of course food is not that great because hotel is 2 a [... read more]nd half stars, but all together hotel is very good for that money and plus opportunity to be in Havana every day.

Hotel Atlantico: Fantastic value

Rooms were clean. Resort is directly on a beautiful white sandy beach. Free shuttle bus daily to Havans was great. Food was average for Cuba but OK. Staff were very friendly. Yes, I would go back to this resort. Looking forward to my next trip to this hotel.
