El Cozumeleno Beach: Special Resort with friendly staff, and great service and food!!

My wife and I both love the Cozumeleno Beach resort. Despite staying in the dated part of the hotel (room 409) the cleanliness and the view from the balcony was truly worth it, as we were able to see the beautiful sunsets, and the many cruise ships pass by the hotel each night. The food was good, and despite only having one buffet, it is the only resort we have ever been to that gives you the option to also order off a menu, for lunch right in the buffet. You could also order from the menu i [... read more]n the Ala carte restaurant for breakfast. The beach is small but protected from the wind and ocean surf by two cement piers that make it very calm an safe. a definite advantage over the Hotel Milia, which also had a good beach, but ha no protection from the seaweed, and surf that hit mid-week, making it less than fun to go in the water. The El Cozumeleno remained always great for swimming and had plenty of fish and excellent snorkeling. The pools are clean, but not heated, however we are beach people. There were always lots of chairs. The resort had not much entertainment at night, and things were quite evening. If you are looking for more to do at night than perhaps Cancun or other parts of Mexico, might be better for you. We found the staff very friendly with a genuine interest in getting to know you, and provide great service. A shout out to Gloria, Aldo, and Emanuel. The resort is on the north end of the island, and a short cab ride($8) from San Miguel and shopping. The final added bonus was the direct flight to the Cozumel airport instead of having to fly into Cancun and then sit on the bus for 35 to 60 minutes. We were told this perk may be ending for the season. (We were down from March 16 to 23, 2018), so if you're interested you should check. That's it .. definitely a great spot for a safe, relaxing vacation. Would go back again.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Needed more staff and updating.

The hotel was very short on staff you could tell because they seemed to always racing to get the dinning areas cleansed and ready. Room service was exceptionally long wait times, took almost 2 hours to get a salad to the room in preferred suit several times we called. Had to call everyday 2 times to get the room fridge filled with water. No snacks that are suppose to be refilled each day, had to ask for those to. The food exceptional each day No complaints at all there. The spa was a pristine and very well maintained and staff were Always very helpful and pleasant. Overall it is not up tor the same par as the other secrets and dreams I have stayed at.

Allegro Cozumel: Great resort and wonderful couples vacation

This is a very nice, eco-conscious resort that is not as fancy as some others however it offered everything we wanted and more. We did not find it dated, just more simple in decor and style such as thatched roofs on the villas and simple but modern and clean rooms. We were very happy with the food, there was lots to choose from and plenty of it. The beach was fantastic, we purposely chose Cozumel because of the snorkeling and we were not disappointed! Crystal clear waters and we saw small sting rays, a huge starfish and lots of fish right off the beach. On a snorkeling excursion we went on we saw sea turtles, many many fish and even a tiny shark hanging out by the reef. We did not use the gym, spa or go to much evening entertainment but we saw a cirque-de-soleil style show and a concert. One thing you should know if you visit here is that the hotel staff will try to sell time shares to you by telling you there is a free welcome package or gift of some kind. Nothing is free and if you buy into this you will be given a presentation about time shares. A simple no-thanks will suffice though and no one bothered us after that. This would be a great resort for families but my husband and I (ages 25 and 26 no kids) had a great time. Value for the money was awesome.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: very nice resort

I really enjoyed my 2-weeks vacation. Resort is clean with beautiful gardens, beach is rocky but nice and clean, people very friendly and helpful. Accommodation is very nice, clean and private. It really has character. I would highly recommend to fix those cozy patios, you cannot enjoy them during rainy days, they are leaking.Food was ok, I went only to buffet, variety to choose from. I am not demanding person, it's very easy to please me. And I don't expect perfection. Snorkeling from the beac [... read more]h wasn't as good as I was hoping. Fish are mostly @ pier, but you have many places for snorkeling to go. I took couple of private trips by taxi and it was worth the money spent. If you are looking for quiet place to relax and unwind, avoid high school spring break. My mistake and lesson for the future. But sometimes it was entertaining.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Wonderful

Loved the heat crystal clear water and the ambience! Food was good,staff extremely pleasant and overall a terrific holiday! I really wish there was a long sandy beach to walk on. There was one problem, in the evening there was no lounge area to sit in. What was there was not enough

Allegro Cozumel: First time in Cozumel

We really enjoyed this resort. The location was great. The layout of the resort was so easy to get around and lots of option for busier pool activities or quiet pool areas to read. Beach was so close to pool and bar. Resort was well kept up from the lobby to landscaping to rooms. Dive center on site was particularly nice and all gear could be stored safely there. Entertainment team did a good job of offering a variety of activities without being pushy. I really enjoyed the yoga from an outside instructor on Monday, Wednesday and Friday while the rest of my group was diving. Finally one of the best things about the resort was the staff. Can't say enough positive things! We talked to many people that have been to this resort repeatedly and we can see why. We are already talking about going back at Christmas.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Still good...

The good... food improves yearly, always plenty of good choices... the grounds are kept immaculate...the staff are top notch caring people with a sense of humour...snorkling is so cool in ultra clear blue water...your week will fly by.... The not so good... the bed mattresses and the seat cushions in the dining room need replacing, worn out, plain and simple...these are important and easy to fix.... for visitors comfort is mega important.

Allegro Cozumel: 3 star

We had a seemless check in and the staff were pleasant upon arrival. The grounds are beautiful and the pools were as well. The majority of the staff were very nice and quite friendly. The manager, Elvis, was less than helpful. I found he was not willing to make any exceptions at all. We approached him when it was literally raining in our room. We spent a few hours cleaning up the mess and moving things around. We let the front desk know and the next day we spoke with Elvis. We requested we wer [... read more]e given a late check out as we spend time on our vacation cleaning up their mess. He would not budge at all. We were given absolutely nothing for the trouble. I just found this a little perplexing as our room was soaked, our luggage was wet, our bed was wet etc. Housekeeping did come and change our bedding however there was a significant inconvenience and it wasn't acknowledged. The other aspects of the hotel: the pool and beach are just amazing. The staff in the restaurants were fabulous. The food in the a la carts I found to be quite good. I liked the menu and the quality of the food. The buffet however was tired. They need to update the food options and improve on the quality. I need to say that I am not a picky person however there were aspects of this resort that were disappointing. I hope that management make improvements to this resort as it would be difficult for me to recommend this resort based on my experience. I am also surprised that Sunwing isn't aware of these concerns based on the number of people that expressed concerns that were on our flight, there had to be previous concerns noted.

Occidental Cozumel: Beautiful Resort,very calm.

The personnel is warm and very helpful, always welcoming. The grounds are very well maintained. Our room was the best one I have had in a long time while traveling in the Caribbean, in terms of cleanliness and having all the necessary items available, everything worked well (toilet, shower, air conditioning), the bed was very comfortable. We used the back balcony a few times. It is very close to the forest, we saw or heard many birds singing. There was not many mosquitoes when we were there.  [... read more] There was always 1 or two persons near the lobby wanting to sell you time share, but after a while you know who they are and after having asked a couple time they let you be. The snorkeling was very near the hotel and other places further, the water was great, (quite strong water current on the first day we got there, the other days were better for the current) nice sandy bottom at the beach. Food was good, a nice variety, the a la carte...Mediterranean restaurant was a great choice, very well done. The food near the pool always had something for every taste. We didn't get to see many night time shows, but we saw the one where three persons were doing figures with torches of fire... We enjoyed it very much. Even if the environment is very small for the shows and in the open air, it gives it a homey feeling. For me the calmness of the place, the discovery of the little animals around, the walk on the beach and the good company made it all a very good time. I would go back. pcg0311

Zel Cozumel: Wonderful Resort Feb 23-Mar 9/18

This was an incredible vacation for us. The resort was on the most beautiful white sand beach on the island. Our room was in the tower #905. It was very large and the bed was just as comfortable as home. The spacious balcony was perfect. We had a view that we will never forget. The staff would go out of their way to please. Wonderful people. The swim up bar was awesome, with lots of beach chairs and clean, warm water. The second pool was also lovely. (Kids section). The food was alway [... read more]s fresh and tasty. Watch for the specialty restaurants where we were charged $65 US for a "Cowboy Steak". At least it was good! The WiFi was only OK in the Lobby area; would be extra in the room, which we did not go for. We loved our vacation and will be going back.

Occidental Cozumel: Great Resort (except for the food)

Everything except the food would bring us back to this resort. The food selection was limited. The food quality was “fair” at best and not up to the rating of the hotel. This also applies to the three restaurants on site. The beach, the service and amenities were all very good.

Fiesta Americana Cozumel: Chillaxing Resort

If you’re looking for a chill place to visit with awesome snorkeling, really good food and an inviting, modern decor, look no further. This is a solid choice for those looking to relax and slow down while being surrounded by mostly attentive staff and a secluded location right on the shoreline. If you’re looking for a high-energy resort, go elsewhere. If you’re looking for a place to chill with a relaxed, modern vibe on a sleepy island, you’ve found your place. Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Peaceful Resort

This resort was nice. It was clean and an intimate size. The a la carte restaurants were good especially the seafood one during the day! So delicious. The snack bars are pretty good even the one buy the main building across from the main buffet. They serve chicken wings and they are good. This is not the place for you if your looking for a beach but the pool areas definitely make up for that. No nightlife but your close enough to go outside the resort to local bars or clubs if that’s wh [... read more]at your looking for. If you want peace and quite no one to bother you and I nice relaxing vacation the this is the resort for you. Also the cruise ships are no worries yes they are there practically everyday but there a distance away and it’s interesting to watch the ppl come and go.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Wonderfull resort

It was my third trip to Secret Aura, Cozumel. As alway the staff, the food and the beach were great. They take good care of you. The scubadiving is amazing (did it with Martin's dive shop). I will certainly return to the same resort (Secret Aura).

Cozumel Hotel and Resort: Not what we were expecting.

Such a disappointing week in February 2018. We have been there at least five times and thought we knew exactly what to expect, which was a basic 'resort' close to town, excellent and friendly service, good food and fabulous snorkeling on site. That was not our experience this visit. The food was so unappealing due to the rehashing of dishes. For example, refried beans which were good on day one for lunch and supper were less good on day two, mushy looking for the next 2 meals and then appeare [... read more]d as soup the next day. I actually got stomach flu and stayed in bed for a whole day of our trip. I am not sure what happened to the snorkeling. The coral wall seemed very damaged and, in fact, the old snorkeling area has been relocated to the other side of the pier. They have actually built a shallow area with a breakwater you can swim over, which was a good idea. The wait staff were largely sullen and seemingly unhappy, demoralized and disenfranchised. The only staff that seemed happy were the activity staff. ( I did especially enjoy my Spanish lessons, con muchas gracias, Alonso!) This resort used to be our favorite in Cozumel, but no longer.

Occidental Cozumel: Great Resort

We had a great vacation at Occidental Mexico in Cozemel, great food, Rooms were very clean and so were the grounds. All Staff were pleasant and very helpful if needed. We did catch a show after dinner and it was great aswell. We would recommend this resort and would happy to stay there again. Beach was clean and loved the snorkeling right on the beach. Occidental Cozumel: Want to go back!

Great beach, super easy snorkel spot, comfy beautiful rooms (Royal club), entertainment above and beyond big resorts, small population - friendlier crowd!, Albertos next door - party time! Snorkeling expeditions need less swimming, more looking. Good service - but the hotel timeshare hounds got to become more scarce - annoying. Food was good quality, maybe needed more variety in the buffets - NO TAMALES!!! Boo. Wanted more varieties of fish - not just one mushy one. Wanted more deep/local Mexica [... read more]n dishes.Coffee and wine were good. Olive restaurant - needs to make a better looking steak - Seafood restaurant at night - terrible.... Best food quality and service was at the Royal restaurant. LOVE scootering around the island. Super safe.

Zel Cozumel: Great Place

This hotel was very nice , exceptionally clean and great service ! Food was fresh ! The hotel Staff was friendly and helpful ! The DJ every night was a lot of fun ! Would recommend for families too ! Lots of kids activities at the kids pool ! Definitely will go back , willy at the lobby bar was great !

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Great time!

We had a great time, hotel was clean and the food was good. It’s close to everything, so super easy to get to all the places for day trips. The only issues we had was the walls in the hotel are paper thin. We switched rooms once and it didn’t help, it was almost as if our neighbors were right in the room with us...hotel staff was more then willing to move us again or give the neighbors a warning tho. Also, the beach area wasn’t that big.

Coral Princess Hotel and Dive Resort: Outstanding Service.

The hotel was right on the ocean and it was kept in absolutely sparkling clean condition. The staff were helpful and very courteous at all times. The Town Centre was a short cab ride south and the Golf Course was a short cab ride north. Having the unlimited golf and the clubs supplied meant only having to bring along a pair of golf shoes, a couple of gloves and some balls. Bring your own clubs if you wish but the ones supplied were sufficient. No long cab rides to another location.
