Clean, friendly staff and food was not bad at all.

No issues with this resort, was better then what I was expecting. The staff were so friendly and respectly. The food was good, we enjoyed the Italian restaurant the best. The Michael Jackson show was Vegas quality and the water show is a must see.

Best beach by far

Had an excellent stay from Apr 23-30. Mikes cafe perfect place to jump start your day and have an after dinner speciality coffee. By far one of the best beaches and beach entertainment. Wonderful al a cartes with no reservation necessary.

Ok resort

Resort had major towel problem, no hand towels. Only left one beer per day in our fridge...for two adults! Had to call and request water each day. Room was very nice. Ala carts were good.night entertainment was very good.

Amazing Resort!!!

My husband and I went to this resort for a 25th anniversary getaway with 13 of our friends!! We had an awesome time!! They upgraded our room to the Privilege section, gave us a romantic lobster and beef supper in the restaurant of our choice and a huge breakfast brought to our room on the day of our choice. We found the service was excellent...from Miguel in the buffet room to Tatiana our maid. Our Air Canada Vacations representative Osvaldo was very helpful and was a joy to talk to. We had a great excursion to Havana and did the Rum Tour and Cigar Tour...unfortunately it stormed like crazy in the middle of the day but still had a great experience and would recommend that tour. I will say we found this resort very clean, from the floors in the restaurants/lobby to the men working in the gardens I noticed everyday how clean everything was. I also wanted to point out there was never any issues with towels or beach towels, our maid replenished everyday and we never once had a problem with anything. The woman at the public relations were also great to deal with concerning the upgrades we got and the late check-out on our last day. I was concerned about the food going to Cuba for the first time but we enjoyed the food and had lots to chose from the main buffet and the beach buffet restaurant!! I would definitely recommend this resort and would love to go back with my older children!

Beautiful beach- but some management issues.

The staff were great for the most part. The bars don't all have a blender or a full selection. We were not able to get a full bottle of water from the bar only one a day in the room. The fridge in the room was not fully stocked. The towel exchange was never open. We exchanged our towels on the fifth day at the front desk. Some of the toilets did not have seats. The food at the buffet was good. The a la cart restaurants were just ok and seemed to be booked but empty a lot.

Wonderful Family Vacation

Solid 4 star!

Beautiful beach, nice pool. Swim-up pool and beach bars really just slushy drinks with rum. Lobby, piano bars excellent drinks and ambience. Food pretty good at most restaurants....always found something to our liking. Rooms are gorgeous, spacious and new. Mike's coffee bar a real hit....boozy coffees at 8am! Delicious! Staff friendly. Very enjoyable laid back week.....not luxurious 5 star but a comfy, true 4 star.

Disappointing

Vacationed there from April 18 - 25th 2015. Expected above average from previous reviews and we upgraded to Priviledge class but we were very disappointed...below average from our previous trips to Cuba (4 previous to different resorts). Beach was lovely, rooms good size and location, air conditioning worked well...beds very uncomfortable, service from staff was just adequate and sometimes rude and most importantly the quality of food was poor. We all spent the last 4 days of our vacation in our rooms with vomiting, diarrhea, fever, chills, headache, body aches. We were aware of a number of people with similar experience that week. If we had to pick the best of the resort it would be Mike's Coffee shop and the entertainment at the piano bar - the worst was definitely the food and quality of food handling...you can get a great beach experience almost anywhere in Varadero so there are better options for less money.

GREAT STAFF! THEY MAKE THE RESORT WHAT IT IS!

Grounds are so so, beach access and beach are great. Everything is close. Staff were great other than the front desk who are not friendly at all. Room was clean, fresh towels, food was good lots to choose from. Entertainment in piano bar was fantastic! Tania is the best waitress! Lobby bar waiters Nestor & Jorge are great guys and are entertaining.

Great vacation

I was pleasantly surprised.. The resort looked much better in person than in the pictures. The resort was very clean, staff very friendly and the food was better than expected.Of course it helped that the weather was perfect. The beach was fantastic especially for walking. No real complaints other than it was necessary to go tto the beach at 6:30 in the morning to reserve a palapas. More than enough lounge chairs, but the shade palapas were taken quickly. Good mix of families, couples, etc.

Wonderful time!

The resort was really good and loved that you did not need a reservation for the a la carte. The service was excellent! Loved the beach. rooms were nice and clean and no trouble to get anything I needed for the room.

Just O.K.

Impossible to get clean towels at this resort! Buffet food was the same everyday. Pretty good omelettes and made to order pastas. Grounds need some work and more colours. gardeners are always working hard here and always pleasant.

Wonderful resort!

We had such a wonderful trip. The resort was extremely well kept and clean. The staff was excellent and the food was very good. We didn't find the resort too big so it was no problem walking from the beach to the buffet . Would highly recommend this resort.

NOT a great resort!

When a resort states it is new or renovated I didn't expect to see poor washrooms that had broken fixtures, missing toilet seats, and overall poor renovated workmanship. This is not fault to staff working at the resort, but the huge problem with the towels, as we went 5 days with same beach towels, and the bath towels some were old, stained and grey in colour. There was 6 of us of and we all got sick due to cross contamination of food, drinks and not cleanliness!

Fantastic place

Great resort. Super clean. The staff here go out of their way to make your vacation that much better. Special mention for Yoan at the beach and John at the beach bar for their extraordinary service. Hope to see you all again one day at the simply AMAZING Ocean Varadero el Patriarca resort.

Will not go back

the grounds were nice. Rooms were good but the towel situation was terrible went 3 days with a dirty towel. The food was average. The entertainment was excellent and the people at the beach and poolside were amazing they made our week so much more fun. They were so friendly and the bartenders were the best in the main lobby and the piano bar was the highlight of the night, Great people who love their jobs.

Nice Place, great staff!

The hotel was very nice and the staff was great! A couple things that were disappointing.......towel return at the pool was never open and sports office was not open at regular times, tried to find someone to get tennis balls for us for over an hour.

Great Resort!

Wonderful location, amazing beach, not too far of a walk to beach and all facilities. Friendly staff, ok food, nice rooms. Would travel here again! The entertainment was great, especially the piano bar! Great singers and shows.

Great staff!

Liked that it was not too large and spread out. Beach was awesome, no water shoes needed here! All the staff was great, special shout out to 'Jenny from the block', part of the Anamacion crew, really made our stay memorable down at the beach each day, and Justo, lobby bar, best morning capuccinos.
