Bay Gardens Hotel: Great Hotel and Friendly, Helpful Staff

We had a quick check-in and were accommodated with a ground floor room. We were located away from the renovations. The grounds are immaculately manicured and maintained, and very nicely landscaped. Our inclusive breakfast provided us with several choices, as well as a custom ordered (made in front of us) omelette. Staff were very attentive. We had the use of their sister hotel resort and spa on the beach with a shuttle between. Bay Gardens Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

The hotel was very clean and the staff were all very nice. I was with a party of 14 for a birthday and they were very accommodating when it came to placing us all next to eachother. This resort is a 10 minute walk from the mini "downtown" strip. There are malls, restaurants, Duty free shops, bars...ect. The food was average and it gave me a chance to try the local food on the strip. Overall it was a good experience but I would recommend for an older crowd.

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: Great service, Good Resort!

Our experience was great. St. Lucia is absolutely stunning. Go on a few excursions so that you can appreciate the beauty of this lush island. CBay is on a huge plot of land with a lot of fun aspects to it. The service and food were excellent (diary/gluten contents indicated in menus and some labels which is good). I  [... read more]feel that the service and food were comparable to a 5 star resort, but the grounds themselves were true to a 4 star. The washroom in the room could have been bigger and updated (especially the shower) to match the fantastic size of the suite. The only real issue I have is that the pools and lazy river desparately need a cleaning and painting. Paint chips were coming off of one of the pools and the bottom was a yellow/brown colour. The lazy river seemed to have either a mould or paint issue since there were black spots on the bottom. We overheard others who were concerned about it too. If the resort updates that area, I really would not have any other complaints because it is stunning otherwise. Yes, the water is rougher than other parts of the island, but you should really be going on excursions to learn about the island anyway. You'll see beautiful beaches and water as you get around (volcano, pitons, gros islet party among some of the best excursions to try there). One small other suggestion for the resort is to keep celebrating the St. Lucian culture for the entertainment. I didnt really understand the random cowboy night. We wanted to celebrate your culture more! Overall, this was a great experience. The country and people will steal your hearts, and the resort does they're genuine best to make your stay a welcome one!

Rex Papillon: good value and great location

stayed at this hotel with family members for a week. loved the staff at the resort and the st. lucian people in town were very nice and polite. food at resort was okay and drinks were awesome. liked that they posted what would be served at the buffet ahead of time so you know what morning, lunch and evening meals would be. the restaurant at the pool/beach area was excellent, we ate lunch there almost everyday. went to town a few times to try some locale food, really enjoyed matthews resta [... read more]urant and wingz n thingz we had king size beds, they were sooooo comfortable. my only complaints would be that there is so much waste with the small plastic cups for your beverages, they do not fill up tim hortons insulated cups or big bubba's. i can see there point but it is very wasteful that i order 2 drinks, then i pour them into my insulated cup and throw out the cups. they also need to provide more garbage cans around the resort to get rid of the plastic cups. i would definitely go back as our group and myself really enjoyed the resort, people and location into town. a 2 minute walk and you were in town.

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: First resort we've returned to

We love this resort, and were thrilled to find out they didn't get too much damage in the hurricanes. Theresa at the adult pool is hilarious and made most of our days. Rooms are clean and comfortable, restaurants have great food. The buffet isn't huge but food was good and service fantastic. I did want to adopt a server from the buffet, Marie is adorable and helpful with our pepper dilemma. I highly recommend the Joy tours offered on the beach, well worth the money. Stolen Time Saint Lucia: Wonderful resort

We recently spent our honeymoon at the Rendezvous Resort. From the moment we arrived the service was amazing. We were escorted to the lounge area where we were given cold towels and champagne on ice. There were no long line ups to register. Our luggage was waiting for us in our room when we were ready to go up. The service all week was perfect. Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort

It was a stunning resort, very friendly staff. Food was really great; so many different options. Night life definetly needs improvement tho. After 1030 there isn't much going on, and even really before then, someone's the shows are always the best. Pools and beach are beautiful and very clean. No major complaints. Nothing to ruin a vacation!

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: Fabulous vacation!!

We just returned home after spending a week at Coconut Bay Resort and loved it!! We are a family of four - two adults and two children (ages 1.5 and 6.5 years old) - and there was definitely something for everyone to do. The staff were very friendly, the food was excellent and the pools, lazy river and water slides were tons of fun!! Rex Papillon: Best bay and beach ever

Food, rooms and people running the place was great. Everyone went out of there way to make sure our stay went smoothly. One of my favorites was the use of a small catamaran for sailing. You can sign it out and sail it yourself. If you needed help someone would take you out.

Sandals Halcyon Beach: Very dissapointing resort

Expected so much more from a Sandals , would never recommend . Two very bad restaurants , one OK , one quite good . Entertainment , pathetic , performed in a doorway . Quite a construction sight , did the workers have to start so early ?

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Honeymoon of our Dreams

We booked the Grande St Lucian based largely off of positive feedback here, as well as positive notes on a similarly unbiased honeymoon aggregator website. Something I had experienced in the past with all-inclusive resorts (even luxury ones) was a feeling of being something akin to cattle being herded around. After spending a week at the Grande, I can unequivocally say it is a cut above, and deserves to be held among the best all-inclusive resorts one can find. Food - 7 separate a-la-cart [... read more]e dining options, all of which boasting exceptional food and a unique ambiance. I noted a number of guests we spoke with were reticent to try the indian (Bombay) and sushi (soy) restaurants - however I chalk it up to lack of willingness to try new things. My highlight would have been Gordon's, or the korean bbq restaurant. Be sure to book your dinner options immediately upon arriving to avoid missing out. Breakfast options are what you would expect, a nice omelet station among other options. Lunch consists of a buffet which changes daily, a bbq restaurant, a jerk meat station and pizza parlour. All were very well done. A building containing 3 of the new restaurants (indian, sushi and korean bbq) was completed approximately 14 months prior to our stay, and it is clear that it has changed the dynamic of the resort for the better. Beach - Very calm waters, and wide variety of non-motorized water sport options. One minor detractor to the beachfront was the ever-present upsell to purchase the use of a sheltered cabana with butler service. I would have preferred Sandals eschew this cash-grab and provide more shaded areas. This is not to say there was any lack of chairs available, I just feel this detracted from the overall beach experience. Hotel amenities - Our room was beautiful, and maison staff were very attentive in turning down the beds and providing anything we required. Happy to leave a tip at weeks' end. Based on speaking with others, I do not think there is any class of room to avoid. Go with what your budget allows, and know that even the furthest room from the beach is no more than a 1 minute walk to the water. The gym was also a fantastic bonus - most resort gyms are abysmal, however we were able to work out each morning with a variety of free weights and machines. Staff - A highlight of our time would be interacting with staff. The local St Lucian staff were exceptionally friendly and genuinely happy to be working there. We submitted positive reviews on more than one bartender and restaurant server, and could go on about it here - but have not had a more positive experience in my travels. Best photographer we rant into at the resort was Oliver; a very skilled man with the Canon EOS and took the best shots of the week. One interesting point of note - multiple staff members expressed their pleasure in the changes made to the resort recently. They said that greater emphasis has been placed on taking care of the staff, and bringing in local people as entertainers. Good on Sandals for supporting local culture! Excursions - We booked the JJ snorkeling/volcano mudpit excursion and were happy to do so. From what we heard from people we met, the other excursions were O.K., however not a must-try. Our group was very boisterous, and we made fast-friends. Watch out for the rum concoction they throw at you on the return trip, some people had an early night following the snorkeling trip. Overall, our experience was positive, and couldn't have hoped for more out of our trip. If you are on the fence from a budget perspective, I would say the additional money spent is well worth it considering the food and effort put into entertainment and attention to detail. Room Tip: Unless you are going for club-level rooms, there is no real reason to spend more on a room.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: It was ok

The place is too new. Like every other review the food does take long at a la carte restaurants. We noticed that even though this place is only about 4 months old, some of the roofs of the restaurants were leaking. Room was beautiful. Don't pay for diamond club if you're at the hideaway. Didn't notice a difference except for the a la carte reservations. Didn't know what to ask out butler to do. He was very friendly though. The diamond club section of the beach is on the opposite side of the hide [... read more]away section so we never even went there. Fishes are always in the ocean and sometimes they nibble but it doesn't hurt. Sometimes bars ran out of beer but replenished within the hour. Overall nice place but not worth what we payed. We stayed in the Royalton in riviera maya and it was far superior to this and we weren't even in diamond club.

The resort was Great .. The rooms were amazing always clean and supplies left every day. The buffet was good. The restaurants,ou never had to wait and the food was very good. The staff on the resort were friendly and every time they walked by always acknowledged. The bars and pools were great. The beach was ok some see weeds in the middle but always kept clean and lots of chairs and umbrellas. We would like to thank Ailsa Walker for helping us pick the write Resort. She was excellent. . Rex Papillon: You get what you pay for

We were so amazed with the price we paid for the resort. When we arrived we then understood why. The food was good but the same thing every.....single......day. They just swapped out the meat--yes that's right they only had one option of meat at dinner! The pool was very dirty and decrepid. It actually had a scummy film on the top of the water that accumulated over our whole 7 day stay!! The beach was beautiful but was hard to enjoy with all the locals aggressively trying to sell stuff. Th [... read more]e staff took a few days to warm up but eventually were wonderful. If it wasn't for the people we met down there and the staff it would had been a very disappointing vacation. I would recommend looking at Trip advisor pics before booking, so you are somewhat prepared for what you walk into.

Rex Papillon: Good for a 3 star. You get your monies worth.

Everything is dated but well maintained. Loved the resident cats. Most of the staff are very friendly. Alfrida in the rooftop bar is a gem. The food was okay but did what food is supposed to do, fill the belly. Thanks for a good week away.........

Secrets St. Lucia Resort and Spa: Beautiful Location

Although a long drive to get to the hotel from the airport (>1 hr.) it was worth the drive. The hotel has a great location nestled in the hills with lots of trees and a beautiful beach. The room we stayed in was overlooking the beach and had a very nice view. The food at all the different restaurants was very good and a great variety. Property was clean and well maintained. Be aware that there is a lot of uphill walking to your room from the beach/pool areas. The staff were generally frien [... read more]dly with a few that didn't seem to be enjoying their job. At times the service was very slow both at the restaurants and bars. One major complaint is the WiFi availability. There is no in room internet access and only a few public areas in the resort that you can access WiFi which means it get’s overloaded and is very very slow when you do access it. This makes it very difficult for travellers to keep involved with business responsibilities while on vacation.

When to this resort for a week grounds are well done ,place is clean but beach is to small and rocky ,also the service is to slow even do by the end of the stay it was improve a lot . Also this is more of a family resort than a all adult resort .overal this was a good vacation

Coconut Bay Resort & Spa: Amazing Vacation

One of the best resorts we have visited. Loved the pool grill as well as the Jerk Hut. Bartenders were happy and helpful. Mitch especially went above and beyond when he worked behind the bar. Would not hesitate to recommend. We will be going back.

We had a fabulous 7 day girlfriend vacation to wonderful St Lucia and the Rex Papillon Resort. The resort is all that we expected it to be and it met all of our needs. Its a small resort; very quiet and relaxing. The staff were terrific, the food was great, the beach was wonderful......would go back again in a heartbeat.....
