Very nice clean resort

Impeccable grounds, large clean rooms, top notch service all around. High waves at beach most of the time (red flag). The food was good. Drinks are somewhat watered down but ok just the same. There aren't many English speaking staff here but we managed just the same, all super friendly.

Very nice resort

Just came back from Riu Republica (from March 19 to 26) very nice resort. ..beautiful ground. .. staff really nice... food excellent. ..big pools... but I will not go back there due to the big waves that are always there...I am a beach/sea person and I couldn't go relax in the sea ... if you like waves... perfect place... but not for me...

Beautiful resort, great people in DR!

This is a great resort. Only 10 months old and very modern. Rooms are bright, clean and spacious. Food was excellent. no reservations needed for a la carte . Pools are salt water and always very clean. Beach is fabulous but we had big waves our whole stay. Drinks were good and the service was excellent. Would definitively go back. Thanks to Genesis and the whole staff.

I want to go back

I've been on several vacations to the Caribbean over the past several years. i have to say that Riu Republica has to be the finest that i have had the pleasure of attending. The check in staff have been the friendliest by far, the room was awesome and the food was delicious. yes there were some things that i didn't like at the buffet, but isn't there things on your favorite restaurant's menu you don't like too? my only disappointment, cant say a complaint, is that there was no bar or bar servi [... read more]ce on the beach. not a huge deal fro me, but sometimes when your comfy you just don't want to have to get up for a drink- lol overall we loved the time there, i will be going back again

Ok, but won't return!

OK resort, don't ask for a garden view room, ours looked out to an industrial park with a generator always humming, very noisy. Couldn't sit on the balcony. Changed our room to have a slight view of the ocean. Noisy at night with the sound of the shows. Food was average. Themed restaurants were horrible. Entertainment crew was great though, but still wouldn't return to this resort.

Vacation Oasis!

I recently stayed at Riu Republica for 5 nights. This was my very first ever vacation out of my country, very first all inclusive resort. Best time ever, great food, great service, will certainly return!!

Garden view rooms are not garden view

I was very disappointed that I was put into a room that overlooked the laundry facilities of the hotel next door, plus there was always a loud generator sound. It was not pleasant sitting on the balcony and I continuously left my curtains shut. Two of the friends I was travelling with also had the same experience. They 'haggled' with the front desk (wasted a 1/2 a day) and they were moved to a much nicer location. I didn't want to waste a beautiful sunny day negotiating so just stayed put for th [... read more]e week. On the positive side, the maids did a great job! I enjoyed the food and was happy not to have to make reservations. The wine was the worst I have ever had and I have been to several resorts. I only drink wine so this was another big disappointment. I could hardly wait to get back to have a nice glass of cabernet-merlot. Had I of known, I would have purchased some at duty-free. An improvement could be made in expanding the number of washrooms in the public areas (especially by the pool) -- three is not enough for the ladies and there was always a line-up. The dining room staff were excellent when we were first seated but never came back to see if we needed refills on our water, etc, and we are generous tippers. We always had to flag someone down. They were great at the a la carte. We loved the entertainment staff. I sure hope this helps to make improvements for others travelling to the Riu Republica. I, unfortunately, will never book there again.

Great

Hard to find fault with this resort. Food and service was great. Very nice beach. Only slight fault was higher winds made swimming in ocean difficult. Would recommend this resort to anyone. Good value for your dollar

Riu Republica - Paradise!

This resort was absolutely incredible!!! I would recommend it to anyone.. beautiful design, well laid out, amazing food and entertainment. The ocean was rough but it did not stop people from enjoing it! Planning to return!

Lovely Resort

The hotel was very nice but kind of plain on the outside. The rooms are quite spacious but everything is very white. The grounds are very well maintained. The staff was friendly. Pool area was beautiful as was the beach. The food was also pretty good.

Beautiful and Great Entertainment

For such a new resort it was a great vacation. Few little flaws as in there could have been more bathroom facilities especially around the pool areas. But really no other complaints. We had a fantastic time. The entertainment staff was great. Would defiantly recommend this resort to others

Amazing place & people

The resort is great, very clean and well managed. The buffet should be open later. There wasn't any choice in beer, only 1 draft beer. you need a variety of beer like Coors Light , Corona would have been nice to have a choice. My husband will never return to any resort with a limit to only serving draft beer. When you pay for all inclusive you expect more for your dollar. Our luggage was beat up on this trip

Great resort with a fun atmosphere

Rooms were clean, new and comfortable. The beach was beautiful and clean. Pools were well kept and there was always activities going on to keep everyone entertained. Food at the buffet had lots of variety and always replenished frequently. The specialty restaurants could use some more experience in the wait staff but with being a newer resort, it is to be expected. A couple small tweaks and this resort could be top notch.

Destination wedding heaven

First off, I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends. The staff was phenomenal. They entirely made our trip. A special shout out to both Braulio who made our all of our meals an event to remember and Samuel (aka Babyface) who made the evenings quite the same. Sure there were misses here and there but that is to be expected when they changed the menu every night. However, overall...wow my entire group was blown away. A piece I would caution about is the excursions. We went on 2. The first was a half day country tour detailing the daily life of a family. It was a rewarding and informational tour and Danny boy our guide could easily do stand up comedy. Great time. Then the 2nd trip happened and we went to the capital for a full day trip. We happened to be the unlucky bus with a crying baby for 3h45mins on a bus each way there/back. My disdain for the parents who made their 1 year old spend a full 8 hours on a bus ruining everyone's day has no bounds. While not the hotel's fault...be careful of the full long day trips which aren't of the party version. Friends told me those were quite fun. Our wedding itself was so memorable. The ceremony on the beach was so much fun with the minister and music on point. Our photographer Nicolas knew his stuff, was patient with me even though I'm terrible taking pictures and did an amazing job as evidenced by all the comments my wife has received since we returned. I apologize for the novel but all in all, best trip of our lives. Go here if you can.

Unforgettable

The resort was perfect from start to finish. The food was incredible. The service was second to none the events were non stop it is def a place that we will be visiting again and taking our friends Our room was spotless. Beds were comfortable. Food was readily available at all hours the resort staff made sure everyone was smiling and having a good time. They reached out to include the shyest people and bring out the fun in all around.

Beautiful Resort

Very clean resort, clean rooms and grounds were nicely landscaped. great selection of food and drinks. Staff was very friendly! I love the beach with the white sand that seems like it goes on forever! I swam in the ocean everyday and walked the beach every morning. Our check in and out was very quick and friendly! Love the foam party and beach party! Definitely would book this trip again!

Outstanding

Well let me start with amazing people,food,drinks , coco bongo. All the trips we went on were really fun and the tour guides were very good at there jobs no one was left behind sober or intoxicated. The locals are extremely friendly and kind. I would go back in a heartbeat. The resort was perfectly laid out.

Beautiful Resort

It was a beautiful resort, everything was very clean, people were very friendly and worked very hard. Food was great. The beach was very nice. But I was surprised that there was not any life guards at the ocean. The ocean was very rough most of our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A great resort

Has we been traveling the whole day and very tired we were well greeted at he resort with a nice fruity drink. As we arrived to our room I was disappointed to see two small beds and no view. So we went to the front desk to request a better room and was amazed that they accommodated us with a better room and everybody was happy. Restaurant were great no reservation needed that was great. Would l go back ?

The resort is ok to be honest. I guess my biggest complaint is the music at the pool. I love to party and have fun, but when the speaker YES One speaker is being blasted to the point of distortion and you can't hear what your conversations are with friends. This is no FUN also the entertainment group need to learn how to speak into a microphone. The shows at night also need to be better very boring. Having the same band every night on stage before the show starts gets old fast. THEY need to implement the pool rules, eating in the pool, smoking and flicking the ashes in the pool, spilling drinks, vomiting in the pool, ALL VERY POORLY MANAGED ☹️ The pool workers especially ( Rafael) great pool guy, the bar guys are money hungry if you don't spot the 5 Or 10 bucks they will serve you last very rude when you stand they and they ignore you so beware. WOULD I GO BACK PROBABLY NOT. I have been to other Rui chains far better certainly NOT a 5 Star Resort.
