Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: return customer...

We stayed at this resort last year and were pleased. This year there have been many updates making it even better! We love all the staff and were happy to see many of the same faces. The activities were great despite missing six of the days due to Castro's passing. The two days we did have were the best!!! They really packed in alot in those days making up for all we missed. Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Iberostar Playa Alameda ***

2 years ago it was much better place - [4+*]! Now - [3*]. There was no door between room and washroom!? Everything in hotel is falling apart. Only 1 shower of the 3 was working on the beach. For some reason there were too many people on Saturdays and Sundays and so service was bad.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful Resort

This was a great resort. I can't think of anything to complain about. The service was exceptional, the food great, the nicest pool of any resort I have visited, very clean ( they even scrub and wash the sidewalks). the rooms were great and a beautiful beach. Also lots of peacocks to brighten your day. What else could you ask for?

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: A Great Vacation Spot

We just got back from our second trip to this resort, and loved it each time. The buffet food was excellent, and the Romantico a la cart dinner was good enough to go twice. All of the staff, from the bar staff, waiters, entertainment mentioned staff, room cleaners, gardeners, etc, we're extremely friendly, which is why we will continue to return to this resort!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Iberostar Puorta plata

Magnificent, gorgeous, absolutely beautiful and clean. The staff was the best . All staff: management, chefs, all wait staff, ground staff and room cleaning staff. The English of the staff was very good. The landscaping is beautiful the room has a view of the beach, Every single thing was wonderful. The excursions were fabulous. The knowledge of the tour guides is great, one guide papy has 6 languages. Our trip was November to December 6, 2016. Thank you so much for a great trip

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good resort with some flaws

In my opinion, this is a nicely built resort with a wide sandy beach, green lawns, and many palm trees. Our room was clean and in relatively good condition: everything was working: fan, TV( we changed the batteries in remote control), ceiling fan, air conditioner,safety box, but the sliding door on balcony was not working properly ( lock was broken and it was very hard to slide the door). Everyday we get the clean towels with some money left on a bed. There is one main eating area in thi [... read more]s resort , and it is clean enough not to make me feeling in dirty environment, but once I saw a cockroach on a table. Unfortunately, plate were not always clean and very often sticky. Some food was good, but some I would not recommend to eat. Fish and shrimps were good, different type of sausages are not very attractive, salads are fine, pizza is good, milk is awful, yogurt is okay( from big baskets, no individual packages). Tropical fruits were good.. "Waitresses" are very different: some are doing a good job serving people, some are lazy and not very friendly. But all of them clean tables with not very clean cloth. Beach towels were a big problem during our stay: we could not change them for 3 days because there wasn't any clean and dry. Also I have to say that all public washrooms are in bad conditions: locks are broken, no paper, unpleasant smell is all around these areas. Definitely, it should be fixed and upgraded because it lowers the resort value and attraction. Also I see some management problems: for example: the plate with potato was overturned near the pool area and nobody was able to pick it up for 3 days. Probably it is still there. Beach was nice even though the sand was not very clean( a lot of plastic straws and cups), palm umbrellas were in good condition, water is super, but there is no beach service:we have to walk to get drinks. Unfortunately, we didn't have an opportunity to enjoy famous Cuban shows because of nine days of Mr.Castro mourning. Anyway, I hope my review will be helpful.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: We LOVE Paraiso Lindo

Our family (ages 6-60) has been spending the last week of November at Paraiso Lindo since 2012. We had a fantastic time again this year. The food was even better than previous years. I did yoga on the beach every morning and it was heavenly. Our small kids enjoyed the kids club and our big kid was comfortable taking part in the more adult activities (ie. pool basketball and volleyball).

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Excellent All-Inclusive Resort

We really enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Cozumel. We were fortunate to be given a newly renovated king room (#5204) and found it to be perfect and well serviced. No issues with musty smells, storage or lack of hot water (although a neighboring room was experiencing a strong sewage smell during the week). To those who complain about the lack of hot water, please remember “C” stands for caliente (hot), not cold. The food was inconsistent although the buffets seemed to improve over the we [... read more]ek. The steakhouse was quite good, the Asian and Tex-Mex were not. Although I did eat something on the Mexican buffet our last night that caused severe stomach issues I cannot fault the hotel. Food issues can occur anywhere down the line and in fact during one of our lunch buffets I observed a staff member routinely taking the temperature of the buffet items to ensure food safety. The wine was good but the drinks were just okay. We never did find anything on the bar menu that we would want to order twice and wasn’t made with a lot of sugar. The staff were friendly and hardworking and the star friends talented and enthusiastic. We saw a few shows and especially enjoyed the acrobats in the horror show. Would we return? Yes, I think so. The value was excellent and the diving good, both draws that would bring us back at some point in time.

No real surprises. It was consistent with all reviews we had seen before. The facility was great, the beach was fine, the food was, in fact, very good and the staff were very friendly. Generally what we have come to expect with Iberostar. We were celebrating a big event in our lives and we were visiting an Iberostar resort for the seventh time...we are loyal Iberostar clients! When we asked to have a room that we had requested, we were given another poor location, just marginally better. The next day we went to our booking rep (to avoid the front desk staff) to make a complaint and later got a much better room but still not what we requested. We find it odd that this resort doesn't take better care of their returning guests when other Iberostar resorts have worked so hard to impress us with their service. Will we stay at Iberostar next time? I'm not so sure.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Beautiful resort.

My Husband and I stayed Nov 26-Dec 3. A beautiful time to go, the resort was quieter which was nice. Overall: The resort is fairly large, but beautifully kept. The main lobby has a weird strong scent but is not noticed anywhere else at the resort (You only go in to check in and out.) You are able to take shuttles when needed. There is a shopping centre which has a taco bar, Crepe bar/ ice cream parlour and a burger spot (but did not go there) and a Coffee shop! We liked it, quiet and in the centre of things. The ones closer to the lobby would hear the noise from the night entertainment. (51) Service: Absoultely amazing Family: This is an amazing family resort. They have a great program during the day for the kids to go, and when I seen the group all kids looked happy and were having fun. We went with out our child, and we're not bothered by the children around. Beach: Was well kept, some rocks in the water. From where the chairs are to the water, there is a drop. Then again as you enter the water there is a bit of a drop. Fine as adults, I would be nervous if I had my toddler with me. ( but the winds were high making big strong waves- it settled at the end of our trip) Lots of sun chairs and huts for shade. Your not suppose to save chairs (I seen security taking towels) but most people got away with it. Food: Enjoyed it!! We loved the steak house and the Mexican. Italian not so much- too much fish for my liking on the menu. The buffet was great, always found something i liked. Loved breakfast! Location: Only took 30 min to get to the resort from the airport and we were the first to be dropped off the shuttle. So nice! Tip: When finding the shuttle. Ignore those in the airport. Once outside you will find your carrier (WestJet..)and hotel. You just have to search.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Okay hotel

Poor food selections. If you like pork and shrimp you are good to go. Cleanliness of rooms daily were much to be desired. Pools and pool areas were clean and organized. Lots of chairs available on the beach as well as the pool areas.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: amazing resort

beautiful presentation, grounds wonderful, rooms have no view of the ocean but there is so much to see out of your window no matter where in the resort you are, great food and staff very helpful! No hot tubs in the whole complex only jetted cold not appealing water..not so great about directions throughout the resort.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: The Best One Yet!

The Iberostar Costa Dorada certainly exceeded our expectations! The grounds were beautifully kept, the food was exceptional and the staff were fantastic! They couldn't do enough to ensure your vacation was fantastic and more. Although it was the first time for us to experience a couple of rainy days it still was our best resort experience thus far. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Meh, it's okay

This hotel was okay. Nothing more, nothing less. The grounds were well kept, if unremarkable. The rooms were clean, but basic. The food was great on selection, lacking on execution. The staff was attentive while also remaining distant and uninterested. The beach was a tease to what other beaches in the DR can offer. While there is nothing at all wrong with this resort, we spent our 7 days there constantly saying "Meh, it's okay". We booked here specifically to be close to the mountainous areas out Puerto Plata in order to venture out 4-5 days of our week. Because of the torrential rains experienced in this area over the last month, this was not possible, so we found ourselves confined to the resort a little more than we had hoped. This is not to bash the resort completely, there was a lot of good here, just not one bit of great that we could identify. Food selection was one of the best we have seen on any resort, there was just none of it that was all that great. The nightly shows had some of the best props and sets I have ever seen, but the performers looked like they wanted to be anywhere but on that stage. There was never a wait for drinks at the bar, or in the restaurants, but trying to find a smile on most of the staff's faces was like searching for a needle in a haystack. I would recommend this resort for large groups looking for something to please everyone, young families and budget travelers if you can get a deal on the price. I would look elsewhere for couples and families with older children.

Hotel Mojito: Another amazing 2 weeks in paradise!

Iberostar Mojito is a quiet resort that is excellent for relaxation and rejuvenation and tends to attract a clientele not overly into 'partying'. Staff are friendly and very helpful - rooms are bright and sunny and clean. Food is not fancy - if you are a gourmand you will be disappointed - but tasty, well prepared and always available. Beachfront has been eroding somewhat over the years, but plans have been made to dredge and restore the shoreline. Poolside activities are well organized a [... read more]nd lots of fun - geared to different age groups. Nightly shows are exciting and colorful. Myself and a group of friends have returned many years in a row - often connecting with old friends that do the same - staff remembers you from previous visits and are always happy to see you return. Not a 5 star resort - but if you are looking to recharge your batteries in a comfortable, beautiful and safe place - Mojito is for you.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: great experience!!!!

We were 3 adults and 5 kids under 9 years old.We all had fun!! The room are nice,clean and we had a surprise a ocean view.The buffet good variety not too much line up at the grill or pasta station.The beach is nice but rocky,they were creative with the elevated terrasse and the stair to go in the water..Overall very good vacation and the service everybody was wonderful.. We wouldlike to go back.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing resort that is accessible for people with physical disabilities

I have been to this hotel 7 times now because it is not only a great resort with beautiful grounds, great food, amazing staff, but also that is very accessible for those with physical disabilities. The whole resort is very flat, with ramps where needed, there are golf carts that will drive you where you want to go, easy access into the pool and even a boardwalk that extends under sun umbrellas on the beach for easy wheelchair/walker access. Although the complex is huge, it is very easy to get around, with many activities, lots of chairs with shade at the pool and beach and close to the airport.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great family resort

Lovely hotel/resort. Great location and beaches. Hotel is a little run down, but still very nice. It's Cuba, after all. They make do with the supplies they have. Same with the food. It was decent and lots of it, just not as good as first world countries. The staff are very lovely and always a smile and "ola" to you. A great plus on the beaches is they are long and fairly level, so great for walking along. Good snorkelling right off the beach too. Lots of activities if you want to partake, [... read more] but the staff don't harass you to do so if you'd rather not. Shows were just ok, but that's not why I vacation there!

Hotel Mojito: A home away from home

From the moment we arrived the staff treated us like we were part of their family. It also didn't come across too fake. We got checked into our room in the building we had requested. The rooms was as expected. Clean and simple. We were actually surprised that the pillows were even comfortable. Hit up the grill in the snack bar and the pig roast if you can for lunch. The cigar bar although quite the bar tender Franky made some amazing drinks. Let him surprise you. You won't be disappointed. Michal in the lobby bar also has 1 drink that will knock your socks off. Axel in the pool bar is very kind and gets to know your drink preferences. We had a great stay and would go back. Rated a 3.5 but more like a 4. It does need a little bit of TLC cosmetically but you see past that once you see how welcome and at home you will feel. If you want to bring stuff for the staff bring Imodium, tooth paste and Crazy Glue. This is what they are currently needing. You simply can't get it even if you have money right now.
